Jack watched contentedly as another group of children wound down from an absolutely epic snowball fight. Practically everyone was soaking wet and red nosed but there were no complaints to be heard.
"Hey, Jack." Somebody nudged his shoulder and looked down to see a grinning Jamie. The winter teen grinned and crouched down to the ten-year old's height
"Yeah?"
"Today was fun, right?" he said and Jack nodded.
"Sure. Today was the best." Jamie nodded as if Jack had said just what he wanted.
"And it only happened because you came and gave us a snow day, right?" Jamie said, getting more and more excited as he spoke. "And it wouldn't have snowed if you didn't come and make some, right? "
Jack was beginning to wonder where this was all going but made an affirmative noise anyway. Jamie was practically bouncing in place now.
"So then could you make it snow again tomorrow?" he looked up at Jack with big eyes and immediately the teen felt as if the Wind had been pulled out from underneath him.
"Uhhh-" he floundered, "Well- you know, buddy, there are rules in place on just how much I can meddle with the weather patterns."
Jamie's face fell and Jack panicked a little.
"Ah! Ah! But maybe I could-!"
Jack was cut off by a flash of bright purple light and a hand tightly closing onto his mouth. Jamie screeched and fell backwards in attempt to get away but settled down a little when he saw the lack of reaction from the Guardian of Fun.
"No!" Yato shouted, blue eyes flashing. "No more snow days!"
Jack ripped the hand off his mouth and started to protest, "But Yato-!"
"No! I can't deal with any more complaints from angry spirits, Jack. I'm serious, if you don't stop fucking with the weather I'm going to smack you."
Somewhere behind them Jamie gasped at the use of the swear but he was ignored. Jack leaned the Wind's staff against his shoulder and stared at his father.
"Did you seriously come all the way over from Japan just to scold me? Like are you serious?" Yato crossed his arms and huffed.
"Of course, I'm serious! I can't deal with your shit anymore, Jack. Seriously!" Jack squinted at the finger pointed at his nose. "Stop fucking up the weather!"
There was another bright flash and suddenly Jack and Jamie were alone once again.
