HELLOO FANFICTION!
Man,I gotta say,it's awesome to be back, not long since I updated chapter 13, and already doing another chapter! I haven't been on a roll like this since I was in the Navy, but I'm not going to stop now.
Now, a few of you has commented that Nathan's backstory wasn't the point of the story,although I hope by now I hope that you've seen where I'm going with how I did was not my intention to have him make up as much as he did in the beginning,but that's just how my way too detailed mind had it work out, and I gotta say I'm happy with the result. I truly hope that you'll continue to read and review my story and I'll do my very best to make this story even better as time goes.
Anyway,with my little rant over, it's time to say it...
ON WITH THE SHOW!
Chapter 14:
As Nathan appeared in the Hokage's office, he noticed that Asuma, Kurenai,Gai and Kakashi was already present. He turned his attention towards the Hokage and said: "You summoned me,Hokage-sama?" Hiruzen nodded and turned his attention to all present. "I wish to simply hear out what you think of the genin? We need them to be in top shape in time for the Chuunin exams. Asuma, what do you think?" he asked of his son. The Jonin took a drag of his cigarette before answering."The genin has been progressing nicely,even though they are unevenly matched. Overall, they are ready, though I would recommend they are partnered with people of their own skill level when on missions" he said. Hiruzen looked at him curious. "What do you mean unevenly matched?" he asked. Gai stepped in. "forgive me Hokage-sama, but I think what Asuma means is that some of our genin possess more skill and more power and speed than others. I took notice of this myself. Let's take Nara Shikamaru-kun as an example. He shares the family trait of not wanting to do more than necessary, though I have no doubt he is as bright, if not brighter than his father. If he ought to be ready to take on missions of higher rank, he needs to train extensively in all areas between missions, which would leave him with no downtime, which all shinobi needs." Kakashi stepped in. "I agree. We need to split up the groups differently if we are to make this more efficient". Hiruzen turned his attention to Nathan. "What do you think of this, Nathan? You have been silent throughout this." Nathan picked out a cigar from his pocket and lit it up with a match before answering: "I understand where you are coming from, all of you. However, my experience says that students learn better when they are the ones willing to learn the subject. I say we ask the genin what they wish to learn from us, we split us up with respective subjects, and teach them from there. For example, Gai, kakashi and Kurenai are all considered experts in their own fields. With no disrespect to the others, Asuma and myself are more rounded. If I were to put an area on myself that I could be called an expertise it would be kenjutsu, while Asuma could be called a Strategist."
The Hokage nodded. "Your ideas have merit. I'll allow it on the condition that all your teams arrive here tomorrow to get their first mission before this comes into play. Agreed?" he asked, getting a nod from the five Jonin. "Dismissed" he said as the Jonin all left the office.
With Kiba,Shikamaru and Chouji:
The three new Genin walked together in relative silence, until Shikamaru glanced at Kiba and spoke. "Kiba, what happened to you?" Kiba took a breath. "We had just finished our team meeting and Naruto suggested we find a weapon for me and Sasuke. We found a weapon shop that had three swords on display, they were called Hellhounds Laughter, Raging Dragon and Kitsune's Claw. They were apparently made by a legendary Swodsman and Blacksmith called Takahana Rinji over 50 years ago. You can guess which sword I have in my possession." He grinned slightly as he patted the sword on his hip. "Long story short, the swords are sentient and forced us to grow to be able to use the swords efficiently" he finished. Shikamaru and Chouji were stunned. Chouji was the first to speak. "Do you think there's more of those weapons?" he asked. Kiba grinned. "I wouldn't bet on it, but it never hurts to ask, does it? Come on,I can take you to the shop" he said before leading the two off to the Wolf Claw Weapon Shop.
With Naruto, Anko and Jiraya:
Naruto was currently in the Namikaze estate's backyard, trying to learn Jiraya's famous Needle Jizō, which enables the user to use their hair as a protective shield as well as a spiked, metal-like tentacle. He was currently in a bit of a dillemma: his hair had wrapped itself tightly around him and had subsequently buried him 3 feet down in their backyard. Jiraya came out of the kitchen with a cup of coffee,looked around the backyard for a bit before he saw the yellow coccoon and burst out laughing. "BWAHAHAAHAA! How the hell did you manage this, gaki? That is not supposed to happen, you know?" The coccoon dispelled, revealing a pissed off Naruto. "Then you should've stayed here to supervise me, ya old pervert!" he yelled, ticking Jiraya off. "First off, I'm not a pervert, I AM A SUPER PERVERT!" Jiraya yelled before calming down. "Second off, I know that you'll be able to master this jutsu in no time, given how you've managed to master the Kage Bunshin and Rasengan" he explained with a wry grin, making Naruto scratch the back of his head with a sheepish grin. Then Jiraya turned his head in the direction of the village gate and smiled gently. "Welcome home...Tsunade-hime" he said before turning back to Naruto. "Alright gaki, let's go welcome my old teammate" Jiraya said with a grin as Naruto dispelled the jutsu and climbed out of the hole he was in. "Okay, ero-kyofu,let's go!" Naruto said enthusiastically making Jiraya sweatdrop. "I can imagine Tsunade's response to this gaki" he mumbled to himself as the two left the Namikaze compound.
At the village gates:
Izumo and Kotetsu was having a boring day as usual, being the eternal gateguards and all. "Hey Izumo, I bet 100 ryo that something interesting will happen today"Kotetsu partner scoffed. "That's a fools bet,Kotetsu, I aint byuing it" Izumo said before going back to his Solitaire. "Come on Izumo,just one bet,nothing more I promise!" Kotetsu said, making his partner sigh. "Alright,one bet, 100 ryo." Izumo said. Kotetsu nodded happily for some reason. The two sat there for a few more hours until Kotetsu saw three figures coming walking up to the village. "hey Izumo,you owe me a 100 ryu" Kotetsu said. "what? No I..."Izumo said as he saw exactly who was coming up to the village. The figures proved to be three women, one big-breasted blonde, one beautiful but kinda plain brunette and one green-haired tan girl that looked to be around the age of Naruto. "Damnit" Izumo grumbled as he got 100 ryu out of his pocket. As the women got closer, both guards went on alert. "Welcome back,Tsunade-sama" both guards announced. Tsunade smiled shortly at them. "Good day,Izumo,Kotetsu. Still the eternal Chuunin I see?" she said,making the two sweatdrop slightly. "You remember Shizune,I trust?"Tsunade asked,making the guards nod. Tsunade then showed the smaller girl. "And this is my other apprentice, Fuu." Izumo smiled slightly. "Alright,it's all in the log, Tsunade-sama,I'm sure Hokage-sama is eager to see you again, so just go right ahead" Kotetsu said,gesturing to the nodded to them and proceeded to the Hokage Tower,her two apprentices close behind. "So this is Konoha..."Fuu mumbled,loud enough for Shizune to hear and nod. "This place has not really changed since we left,has it Tsunade-sama?" Shizune said. Tsunade smiled slightly at her and said: "No,it hasn't changed a bit". The women continued the walk to the Tower in silence, up til they arrived at the Hokages office. The secretary immediately recognized Tsunade and said: "Hokage-sama is waiting for you,Tsunade-sama,please go right in" as Tsunade knocked twice on the door before opening.
"Hello sensei" Tsunade said to the old man,making him grin. "Ah,Tsunade-chan,please come right in!" he gestured to the couch by the wall. "Shizune,is that you? You have certainly grown up since I last saw you"Hiruzen said as Shizune followed Tsunade in. Lastly came Fuu. "Sensei,this is Fuu. She is my second apprentice" Tsunade explained. "And where did you find her?" the old man asked. "Fuu was ran out of Taki approximately two months before we found her in Tanzaku Gai" Tsunade said. Hiruzen nodded. "Were you a registered ninja in Taki,miss Fuu?" he asked as he looked closely at her. "No sir,I wasn't" she answered simply. Tsunade sighed. "Fuu,we need to tell him." she said, making Fuu go rigid. Tsunade looked at her old teacher and said: "Fuu is the Jinchuuriki of the seven-tailed beetle". Hiruzen sighed. "I see. Well,I see no problems here,you can register as a ninja here, provided that Tsunade can vote for you" he told Fuu with a small looked at Tsunade hopefully, making the elder woman sigh. "Yes,I'll vote for you" she said,making the younger girl light up like a christmas tree. "Now, sensei,we have something to discuss,or rather someone" she said seriously, making the old Hokage sigh. "Yes we do,but before that" he said as he summoned an ANBU. "Inform Nathan,Anko,Naruto and Jiraya that I want them here ASAP!" he said. The ANBU nodded shortly before dissappearing. Tsunade looked questioning at her former mentor. "Naruto's older brother and more or less adopted sister. He's been living with them since he returned. As for the rest of the story,you'll have to ask them" he said before there was a knock on the door. "Enter!" he door opened and in came Nathan,Anko,Jiraya and lastly, Naruto. "Ah, good to see all of you,I want you to meet someone" Hiruzen said as he gestured to Tsunade. "Nathan,Naruto, I want to introduce you to Senju Tsunade, another of my former students. She is the world's leading medic-nin" he said as the brothers got wide-eyed. Nathan almost immediately composed himself and bowed shortly. "An honour to meet you,Tsunade-sama" he said and Naruto copied him. Tsunade studied the two. "I hazard to guess that the blonde is Naruto, but I cannot say that I recall seeing you at all before" she told Nathan. Hiruzen told his ANBU to leave before he sealed the room. "Nathan,Anko,Naruto. I think they have the right to be told the true story" he said tensed for a moment,but after turning to see an affirmative nod from both Anko and Naruto he sighed. "Very well" he said as he began the long story of his creation,training and the meeting of the three. Tsunade went through a range of emotions as she heard his story: Anger,Sadness,desperation, but most of all, she felt the love these three young ones before her had for each other. Naruto and Anko quipped in where Nathan missed a few minor and Fuu were shocked,how could anyone treat a child like this? Especially one who should be celebrated as a fucking hero!
At the end of the story,Tsunade grabbed Nathan into a bone-crushing hug and whispered: "Thank you for taking care of them" Nathan whispered back: "Anytime,I would've done it again in a heartbeat". As he was released, he said with a smile: "Tsunade-sama, as temporary head of the Namikaze clan, I hereby extend an invitation to take up residence in the Namikaze compound for as long as you'd like". Tsunade smiled. "I gladly accept,lead the way!" she said as they all bowed to the Hokage before they left.
