Dragon Blood Curse Ch. 14 -Warning n' Battle-
Scourge's Pov.
I'm pretty sure we had caught up with the boys n' skills n' learning our powers easily n' soon enough we had been using our powers to work in the locations we were given to work at. We were all given the night job as sentry guards, though we all got other jobs for certain days. Silver got farming along with Zonic, Shadow n' Mephiles were assigned to work in the blacksmiths, Sonic n' Fleet enjoy working in the fishing fields, n' I myself was given the job of Mining not that I'm whining really I get to keep a few treasures while working. Right now though I was sitting with Tails since he opened a mechanics/science/clinic one would wonder if he's over doing it again but still I had to get my hand worked on seeing as I broke a wood handled pickax n' it cut up my hand "you really need to be more careful when working Scourge" he said to me.
I just huffed at him "yeah well as soon as ya can get the better ones I can stop hurting myself Tails..." I retorted as he finished wrapping my aching hand "thanks anyways." He nodded n' handed me one he did finish "I'm not sure if its any better but you can test it for me if it is then we can replace them old pickaxes." Walking outside I still can't believe that we are so far from home but this place to me anyways feels perfect after all the people here seem to care rather than hate me. I had decided to go to the beach n' see if Fleet n' Sonic had gotten back yet, sure enough I saw them Fleet laughing at Sonic again for he tripped on the slippery ground "ya ever gonna not slip blue?" I asked him calmly n' sat on a bench nearby as they cleaned up really quick. "Laugh all you want Scourge...We still get work done" he said n' I just grunted a bit "yeah me too...ya know we all work hard since we got here right?" there was a nod from him, before we noticed that two hedgedrakes Nala n' Grey both rush for that hook launcher they used on us "guessin that there is another?" Fleet wondered aloud.
We looked out to the waters n' noted the larger ship out at sea sailing hazardously close to the reefs, n' then, the launcher fired the bolt to catch the ship like it did ours n' drug it to shore. We ran over to the ship n' noticed a wolf, female fox n' a winged hedgedrake that one was weird since I was told that hedgedrakes are wingless. Fleet stopped me n' Sonic as we noticed that the alpha hedgedrake Toxin walked up "I don't know what is going on but I've never thought I'd see a Drakan again" he growled harshly but before anyone could react I had noticed the lab tag like my own I got in between them easily. "Hold up Toxin...he seems to be a lab rat like me so he possibly knows nothin like the real monster" I quickly said as he looked to me then back to the larger one.
The others later showed up n' we looked to the three "what are you doing here anyways?" Silver asked confused to this unusual event. The large violet male looked down to us "I had come to tell of what the lab man that had gotten you all, had created several of these drakan's n' one was sent to find n' kill you all" he replied to us n' we looked to each other then to the alpha. Toxin chuckled at him "what makes you think that he can find this place?" he asked though I wondered a bit 'could this place be found by a monster?' "I know he will...Radon is my older brother n' I'm betting he used me to find this place" he replied just as they heard something land on the ground nearby n' sure enough we noticed the other drakan n' I kinda felt worried with the fact that he was massive compared to myself.
We all agreed violet one not a threat the real threat is the brown one, n' we all had to avoid it's attack. Mephiles made the first move using his dark powers to try trapping the massive drakan to sadly fail that "well that didn't work" he said jumping away from his bite n' every one of us kept trying to get it down even the drakan that came to warn us tried to help us. The bugger was tough to be honest but we were doing some damage to it I learned quickly that our tails are really sharp as I caused a really deep gash on the drakan's chest, though I kinda pissed it off too seeing as he turned his full attention on me. "Scourge I donno what the hell is going on but run your butt off now that beast looks hungry!" Sonic yelled as I turned n' ran fast with Radon in hot pursuit of me. I was glad I memorized the territory well cause me leaping up into a box, the drakan never noticed n' ran by 'heh not very bright there is he?' I thought to myself n' waited a bit before jumping down.
But to my luck I was knocked sideways by the drakan's tail n' into one of the buildings nearby "Thought you would avoid me hedgedrake?" Radon laughed darkly as he walked closer to me "funny I've been told that your kind is powerful...all I see is a weak pup." It was then that a massive wingless dragon attacked him n' took him down painfully might I add, but what shocked me it the dragon had features that matched Toxin. "Now that this guy is downed lets get him tied n' left for the crazies to eat..." he said looking to the drakan though I didn't like the idea the drakan could lead Deu Drac back to our home. I turned to let them do what was ordered n' checked up with Sonic n' the others "So...who are ya drakan?" I asked the one whom came with the wolf n' fox. He n' his friends looked to me "These two are Sheena the fox n' Leroy the wolf...as for myself my name is Orbitor like you I was once a hedgehog till the labs" he replied honestly n' I nodded to him.
"huh...well I guess we need to introduce ourselves" I said before getting interrupted "no need I know you all from the Stories n' news" Orbitor said to us. The group chatted with him n' his friends for a while before we decided they were safe to keep here with us "alright I'm sure we can give you a place to stay while your here" Zonic replied to him n' with a nod they departed, as for me I turned to get tails to check me again seeing as my side hurt a lot. "You really can't stop hurting yourself?" He asked me n' I just chuckled at him with a shake of my head. I grined a bit "ya know me Tails I'm prone to trouble n' pain" was my response to that n' Tails sighed n' worked on fixing me up again.
