A/N: I'm back! Sorry for the long wait - I've been super busy but I've finally found time to write again! I've definitely missed it! I swore once in this chapter (only the B word!) but if any of you have a problem with it let me know!
I have already planned the last 5 chapters after this one! Anyway here is the next chapter! BTW it's skipped a few weeks into the future.
Disclaimer: I don't own Glee, Smash or anything else (if I did I would be rich!).
-GLEE-
A gentle knock echoes through the apartment. Rachel hops out of her bedroom with one heel on and the other in her hand as she tries to get to the door.
Today was her first ever proper date with Jesse. She's been waiting for this moment for a while but they've been so busy lately with the musical, Kurt's wedding planning and their normal everyday life so they haven't gotten around to a date yet! But tonight's the night! They plan on going to a new restaurant then a walk home through central park.
She swings open the door and standing there is Jesse.
"Hi!" Rachel exclaims as she rushes back down the hallway; leaving Jesse standing alone; yet again.
"Babe!" He answers and goes to settle in her living room, sitting on her couch watching the new episode of "I Wanna Marry Harry!" 'I really hate Meghan, she's awful. Wait why am I thinking about this?! I don't care about this programme!'
In Rachel's room, she touches up her makeup and decides she's ready for her first date with the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with: though she'll never admit it.

The taxi ride was blissful. They shared sweet kisses and sat there is silence; enjoying each other's company whilst they could. The tension could only be the opposite of awkward.
As they pulled up to the restaurant, Jesse quickly paid the driver and manoeuvred his way around to the other side of the car and opened the door before Rachel could. 'A true gentleman,' Rachel thought after her face pulls a grin and she swiftly says thank you.
They walk in hand-in-hand ignoring the paparazzi filming them; shouting at them to confirm their relationship. The doorman immediately pushes them away making sure the two stars aren't hurt, then directs them to their, pre-booked, table.

They had a peaceful dinner (with the exception of a group of fans coming over and asking for their pictures and autographs). They talked about everything they had been going through the last few weeks. Rachel talked about how controlling Kurt was about the whole wedding, work and how much washing she had to do and they both had a good rant about Rebecca who was always following Jesse around like a small child looking for attention. Between them they were real bitches!

After their date, Jesse and Rachel took a stroll through Manhattan wanting some alone time.
"It's a beautiful evening!" Rachel mumbled, as they crossed over Bow Bridge; she looked down sadly as she strode off without Jesse to the middle peering down at the rail. Jesse followed her and noticed what she was looking at.
"Oh baby…" He brought Rachel into a hug and stared at the carvings in the wood:
'F & R'
Rachel lent against Jesse, weeping silently into him. Whilst he replied:
"Let's get you home."
They walked home together; neither of them saying a word but Rachel had stopped crying and settled down. Whereas Jesse was thinking about whether this would change their relationship, is she really ready to move on, even after all that time? Could he ever live up to Finn's livelihood? Would she ever love him the way she loved Finn? All the questions were interrupted by them arriving at Rachel's apartment building. They rode up the elevator together: comfortable in their silence.
They reached her door and Rachel unlocked it and enveloped Jesse into a hug. He smothered her with his body – like a blanket covering her. When they pulled away he kissed her forehead and walked away before he heard a call:
"Jesse, I forgot to ask, would you like to go to Kurt and Kyle's engagement party with me?" He turned around and smiled.
"Of course!" They both stood there a moment; caught up in their eyes before both of them noticing and turning away, blushing. Each went their separate way.
A/N: This was supposed to be much longer but I cut it short so it didn't feel like I had forgotten about it! I am still very sorry about the delay! I have been busy but hopefully *fingers crossed* it will be finished by the summer!
