Chapter 14: Questions
By I-Darkness
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE'S GONE?!" Master burst out, eyes popping.
"The idiot wasn't there! Wendy's with Edgar trying to get a trail on him, I came back to get his damn sister."
"But she's still asleep! You shouldn't bother her so soon!" Levi waved her arm in protest.
"Asleep? I don't really care! We need to find him as soon as possible! There's still a chance he's alive."
"But if Lucy's really gone then -."
"There still might be a chane," Makarov said quietly, gazing past the couple.
The three mages fell silent as they watched as the small pink-headed girl limp in their direction.
Her eyes were wide, but darted around the room as if still trying to find her bearings. Her hair was disheveled and messy around her haggard face, her voice small and raspy when she spoke.
"Nii-chan?"
"Erza."
Gray came up behind the redhead knight, hands in pockets. Once the shock of the news had worn off, they realized there were too many discrepancies for the whole story to be believable.
"We have to get to the bottom of this. We need to get Team Natsu together again."
Gray said nothing for he quietly agreed. Everything, since Lucy left for her 'vacation', had been unraveling slowly, but surely.
"This is the plan; figure out where Lucy was before she 'died'."
Again Gray said nothing. The tiding of Lucy's death was too suspicious and Jung, Lucy's apparent fiancée, had stayed in the guild for a full day, asking all manner of questions to the members. Too grief stricken, the majority of the members did not question his curiosity, with a few exceptions of course. Erza, Gray and Warren to name a few. Warren, with his psychic ability, 'heard' some disturbing things from within the man's thoughts. Erza and Gray knew Lucy well enough to know that she was an excellent judge of character and would not have trusted, let alone dated, the sly mage.
"We should start with Hargeon. Aki had a house there, and she was the last one to have known where Lucy was."
"I agree. I also think we should talk with the locals. We'll ask Reedus to paint us a picture of her."
The two mages stared off in the distance, their hopes renewed, but both aware that time was against them. They needed their Lucy back in order save one of Fairy Tail's most prominent mages, Natsu.
