"I'm so sorry Sonic!" Tails cried as he wrapped his arms around his best friend and embraced him. He sobbed heavily into the blue hedgehog's chest, who began to affectionately pat the young kit's back in response.
"Hey, it's okay Tails," Sonic attempted to reassure him as he gently took his hand and lead him to the couch so that they could sit down. There was a long pause as Tails did nothing but cry and sob and attempt to talk calm himself down, and during those moments Sonic did nothing more than warmly rub his hand against the two-tailed fox's back.
"Sonic, what do I do? I can't get back with Cream because she's with Charmy now, and I have no idea where Amy is to make things right with her," He finally said to break the silence, all the while wiping away at the last bit of tears that streamed down his cheek.
The blue hedgehog paused for a moment to ponder on the situation before speaking. "I'm sorry to say this buddy, but it looks like you can't dwell on Cream anymore if she's already taken," Sonic said. Tails glared at him for a second, but then softened his gaze as realization had taken hold of him.
"As for Amy, I was told by Sally that they had a little talk already, but I guess it wouldn't hurt for you to try and make things right with her yourself," Sonic added.
Tails pondered his friend's words and nodded his head in agreement.
"She's probably at her botiquitte shop, that's where I'd look anyways," Sonic added.
"Alright," Tails said as he perked up a bit. "Oh and Sonic," He started.
"Hmm? What is it buddy?" Sonic asked.
"Please dont tell anyone about what happened," Tails requested with a soft tone.
"Don't worry buddy, I won't."

Amy was just finishing straightening up her shop as she prepared to close for the day. Her talk with Sally earlier actually put her in a pretty perky mood, something she thought she'd never say to herself. The pink hedgehog started looking at her own actions and realized that she was just as responsible for Tails's actions as he was. If she hadn't forced him into a relationship with her while having prior knowledge that he wanted to be with Cream, then he wouldn't had been so confused with what he wanted in a relationship.
I guess I should have known better. She thought to herself.
Before she changed the "OPEN" sign to "CLOSED", a familiar two-tailed fox entered her shop.
"Thank goodness you're here," The fox said with a sigh of relief.
Amy couldn't help but smirk at him. Well speak of the devil.
"Shouldn't you be out chasing Cream right about now?" The pink hedgehog quipped at him sarcastically.
Tails's ears lowered a touch in sadness, and it made Amy soften her gaze.
"She's with Charmy now," He said with a somber tone. "But I didn't come here to talk about her, I came to talk with you," He quickly added to move the conversation forward.
Amy leaned against the wall and crossed her arms, "And what exactly do we have to talk about?"
"W-Well...I'm sorry for one," He started. "And I know I probably can't apologize enough for what I've done, but I just ask that you please forgive me, and I hope that we can be friends again."
Amy looked away from him, pretending to be upset. But she then turned to meet his gaze with a smile, which surprised the kitsune.
"Of course we can be friends, why wouldn't we be?" She said matter-of-factly, which made Tails's face light up with a smile of his own. "You're still the biggest jerk this side of Mobius, but I contributed to it."
Tails perked a brow. "What do you mean? It was all my fault wasn't it?"
Amy shook her head. "I'm the one who forced you to have sex with me when you were trying to date Cream. I also pressured you to break up with her even though you still had feelings for her too."
"O-Oh..." Was all Tails could say as a response.
"'Oh?' I confess to you that it was my fault as well and all you can say is 'Oh'?" Amy pressed, although her tone suggested that she was merely trying to get a rise out of the kit.
"W-Well, y-yes, I-I mean..no-" It was just then that Tails's phone began to ring, and he quickly answered it.
"H-Hello?" Tails answered.
"Tails! Oh thank Chaos you answered your cell. Are you okay?" Rotor asked with concern in his voice.
"Y-Yea, I'm fine. I'm sorry for making you worry. Sonic came and talked to me and everything's better now." Tails said.
"Oh, that's good to hear. I'm sorry if I pushed you over the edge with my ultimatum, I was never actually going to carry it out. I just wanted you to get your life together."
"Well, I was speaking with Amy before you called..." Tails said as he looked up at her. The pink hedgehog simply smiled at him.
"Is everything okay?" Rotor asked.
Tails smiled warmly at his question. "Yea, everything's fine."
"Good. Because I need you here now. I'm getting ready to go on break and I don't want Wave to be swamped. She's been working very hard since you had been away."
"Oh, okay. I'll be right there." Tails said as he hung up the phone.
"Rotor?" Amy asked, although it was somewhat rhetorical.
"Yea, do you mind if I-"
"It's okay," Amy put her hand up. "Everything is fine between us, there's no need for you to worry."
As Tails made his way out of Amy's shop, he turned to give her one last smile. "Thank you, Amy."

Tails entered the shop and was shocked to find that there wasn't much work for him to do at all. The garage was almost completely empty save for Wave, who was relaxing in a chair next to a plug-in fan.
"You're late," She quipped.
"Yea, I can see that," He replied as he approached her and took a seat in a chair next to her own.
"So, does this mean you're back?" She asked as she looked at him.
Tails turned to look at her with a bit of a smirk. "Yea I guess. Why? Did you miss me?"
The swallow snickered a bit as she placed her hand on the fox's head and began to ruffle his bangs. "Maybe a little. It gets boring talking to Rotor all day."
Tails chuckled at her statement. He loved Rotor to death but he wasn't exactly the most exciting company to have.
There was a moment of silence between the two as they did nothing but relax in their respective chairs. But the silence was then broken as Wave suddenly said, "Hey, we should go get lunch sometime."
"H-Huh?" Tails had to process what she said to him. "You mean, just the two of us?"
Wave shrugged. "Sure, why not. Just as long as you don't have any other plans with anyone else. I don't want to be dragged into your mess."
Tails couldn't help but laugh. "No, you won't have to worry about that. I think I learned that it's best to not date any childhood friends. It tends to make things...complicated."
Wave turned to look at him. "So is that a yes?"
Tails thought about it for a second, then shrugged. "Sure, why not. But you're paying."
Wave nearly scoffed. "Me!? I thought the 'gentlemen' was supposed to pay."
"Yea, but you're the one who offered. Isn't that how it works?" Tails shot back.
Wave rolled her eyes. "How about an even fifty-fifty split then? You can do math right?"
"Of course I can!" The kitsuine exclaimed defensively. "And sure, that sounds fair."
Wave smiled at him. "Good, then it's a date."
Tails smiled as well as he leaned back in his chair. That was, until the shocking realization of Wave turning their, what he thought was a "friendly" lunch-in to a date dawned on him. He thought about trying to convince her that it "wouldn't" be a date, as he wasn't ready to go down that road again. But the more he thought about it, the more he began to warm up to the idea. They were able to communicate with each other as if they had known each other their entire lives.
It just felt so...natural.
A date huh? I'll be looking forward to it.
