I promise!
You guys are the best! Bye~~!
"I think you should forgive her." Haruhi suggested.
Kairi explained the whole story to her host club friends about Evangeline, now they finally understood why she was acting so weird. Haruhi analyzed the whole story in her head and remembered what her mother told her one time. They all turned their attention to Haruhi.
"Forgive her?" Hikaru asked.
"Bu-but! But! But she did all those mean things to Kao-chan!" Honey was sitting on Kairi's lap, hugging her around her neck trying to give her comfort with Usa-chan was squashed in between them.
"My mom once told me that it's good to forgive someone even though they've done something bad to you, that way they won't have power over you. When you're yourself and you're surrounded by friends, if the person who did something bad to you comes right in and your whole mood changes, it means that they still have power over you. But it's not really easy to forgive anyone…especially one that did such harm to you. But if you're willing to atleast hear them out it might make it a little easier."
Haruhi looked at Kairi and smiled to reassure her. "I might not know how you felt as a child, but it's entirely up to you."
Things became quiet around everyone after Haruhi's speech. Sudden Tamaki was on the verge of crying and he glomped Haruhi. "My precious daughter! You're so cute! You had such a special look in your eye! It was so adorable the way you help your older brother!"
"Ack! Sempai! Let go!" Haurhi yelled for help. Kyoya who was sitting at Kairi's desk, he was leaning his head against his hand and he smirked at Haruhi's little speech as did Mori-sempai.
Kairi couldn't help but think for a second. Haruhi was right, maybe she should listen to what Evangeline had to say. Maybe she should talk to her as Kairi and not as Kaoru…how the hell is she going to pull that off? One by one the host club left to go home to rest for the new day, Hikaru was one of the last to leave. Hikaru and Kairi stood by the gate as Hikaru's car drove up and the driver came out to open the door for Hikaru.
"Are you sure you're going to be ok?" Hikaru asked one more time.
"I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself, my parents are going to be home later anyway" Kairi giggled.
"You know what I mean."
Kairi stayed quiet for a moment and looked away, Hikaru saw her hesistation. "I don't know. I'm still thinking what Haruhi said. I'll sleep on it and probably have an answer in the morning."
"I want to stay with you."
"Hikaru, I'll be fine. Really. We're all just a little tired. I promise I won't hide anymore." She grabbed his neck and leaned it forward to align with hers. "Your Kaoru is still here, just like my Hikaru."
Hikaru blushed and sighed, Kairi saw the pink hue on his cheeks and leaned in to kiss his cheek. Hikaru stiffened up and Kairi chuckled. The older twin left in the limousine as the younger twin waved good bye…but quickly she ran back inside to shield herself from the cold. She completely forgot she was wearing shorts.
Now her new agenda, a nice cup of hot chocolate and bed time!
She traveled to the kitchen and took out the milk from the fridge to pour it into a saucer to warm it up. She felt her phone vibrate in her pocket, she fished it out her phone and saw the caller ID; Shadow Dickwad. Kairi giggled at the name, ever since she cussed him out, she changed his caller id from Shadow King to Shadow Dickwad.
She pressed the button to accept the call.
"Why speak of the devil hello." She cooed. "I was just thinking about you."
"I'm flattered." He spoke in a monotone voice. "I'm calling to let you know to not fuck up tomorrow with our guest."
"Aww and here I thought you missed me." She giggled as she stirred the milk and went to the cabinet to get a mug. "But I'm going to try alright. It's just going to be a little hard like Haruhi said."
"Just swallow your pride."
"Excuse me? Swallow my pride? This girl practically made my life worse than it already was when I was a child. I was fucking scarred for life and she just dug the knife three inches deeper. Were you ever bullied, Kyoya?"
There was a silence, Kyoya didn't say anything.
"That's what I thought. At least be glad that I am thinking about this and not throwing it out the window like some selfish bitch. Now if you don't mind, I am getting myself some hot chocolate before going to bed. I will see you bright and early. Try to at least get some sleep without thinking about your precious treasury."
With those words, Kairi hung up on him. Why is he always getting her panties in a knot? She can't enjoy one day without him getting up all in her business. The hot chocolate craving was done. She put the mug and the chocolate powder back in the cabinets, turned off the oven and poured the not hot milk down the sink. She threw the saucer in the sink and went back to her room.
Dickwad!
The next day in school, Kairi acted like her normal gleeful self as Kaoru. The princesses were glad that their Kaoru was back. Thank god too.
And right on time, Evangeline came through the doors and requested for Kaoru. It was all or nothing. Kairi separated from her brother and joined Evangeline to a table, she pulled out a chair and let her sit down.
"It's nice to see you again, my princess." Kairi smiled as she sat down in the opposite side of her.
"Same to you…Kai-…Kaoru."
Kairi poured some raspberry tea for her. "I feel that there's something on my princess's mind that she wishes to share."
Evangeline looked at Kairi as if her hand was caught in the cookie jar. Kairi looked at her. "Would my princess want to share whatevers on her mind?" She served the tea to her and waited for Evangeline to speak her mind.
Evangeline grabbed the cup and stared at the red liquid inside. "…If Kaoru would be so kind…to deliver a message for me…to Kairi."
"Of course, I would be happy too." Kairi tried not to show her hesitation and hoped it worked.
"I wanted to apologize to her…for all those years ago. It was wrong of me when she gave me her trust and I trashed it like last year's shoes. She was a good friend, better than anyone I ever had…but my family thought differently. I knew her mother was divorced…and my parents said horrible things about her…I didn't believe them but everyone else did. My parents forced me to do the same. I didn't know any better…but as I grew older…I realized what I have done…and before I knew it, she was gone. I wanted to mend our bond again but I don't know…if I lost my friend…forever."
Evangeline had tears in her eyes, a small drop escaped down her cheeks and she quickly wiped it off. Kairi stared at her, her parents forced her to betray her. It wasn't Evangeline's will. This kinda made Kairi happy, it wasn't Evangeline's fault. But at the same time, could Kairi really trust her?
Looking at Evangeline, woman to woman, Kairi knew she was telling the truth. She reached out and grabbed Evangeline's hand that was softly shaking against the antique glass. Evangeline gasped and looked at her smiling.
"It's ok my princess. You do not need to waste your tears. The message will be delivered…but if I know Kairi…I'm sure she would've already forgiven you." Kairi winked at her, giving her a message of her own.
Evangeline got the message and the tears stopped, she tightened her grip on Kairi's hand. Nearby Kairi and Hikaru's guests were aww-ing with excitement! This made Kairi chuckle and she got up; "From now on, you'll be our guest." She made Evangeline get up and they walked towards the usual spot. Evangeline at first was nervous to do this but she made her feel comfortable and showed her the Hitachinn taboo love….she was now their biggest fan!
"You did a good job."
After a long day and the princesses have gone, Kairi heard Kyoya compliment her as he closed his notebook of their earnings today.
"Oh thanks. To be honest, I was really nervous. If the room was quiet, you would hear my heart."
Kyoya smirked. "I'll take your word on that."
Kairi stretched her arms towards the ceiling. "Ah! Today was a good day, lets clean up and lets go home. I have to study for my math class."
"Kairi."
She turned to look at the shadow king who was holding his notebook in his left hand and had his right hand on his hip. "Whats up?"
"I need to ask you...Will you be my girlfriend?"
