CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Coming into view is the Seattle skyline from the I-5 southern corridor and a sentimental feeling washes over me as I listen to the soft snores of my girlfriend and our mija. Arizona and I have been driving for the better part of a day taking turns just as the sun begins to rise over the mountains east of Seattle. Getting lost in my thoughts of Sofia and my Seattle family I hear the soft voice of our daughter when she whispers a little out loud "Seattle". Sofia's petite voice carries to the front of the Jeep and I notice Arizona beginning to stir in her seat. Giving my girlfriend a moment to gauge her surroundings as she starts to yawn and stretch before I say to both my girls "Good morning pretty ladies". Sofia giggles and says "Good morning mami" while Arizona kisses me and says "Good morning, baby" while we sit for a moment at a red light in downtown Seattle after I have exited the interstate. Sofia brings Arizona and I back to reality when she asks "Can we go and see Zola mami…like right now mami…please…please"?

After Arizona calming our baby girl down a bit by saying "Why don't we first get some breakfast little miss munchkin. Do you know a good place to eat here in Seattle baby girl"? With Sofia begging her mami and I to take her to her favorite all night diner near the hospital that serves the best French toast in the world but abruptly corrects herself by saying "Except for yours mami" and the three of us laugh just a bit. Then ten minutes later the three of us are walking into Sofia's favorite diner as she screams at the top of her lungs "Peggy" and a middle aged waitress turns on her heels and screams back in our direction "Sofia, baby girl". Arizona and I watch Sofia run full blast towards the woman and into her arms.

Callie, Sofia and I enjoy ourselves immensely while playing catch up with the infamous waitress named Peggy. Sofia and Peggy talked non stop about her new life now in California as the waitress makes some flattering and favorable comments in my direction. By the end of our breakfast reunion Sofia, Callie and I promise Peggy that we will see her again before we head back to Santa Monica next week. If Sofia has her way, we will eat every meal at the diner and with Peggy. But for now we make our way out the door to find the only other person in our little munchkin's life that she has missed more than she has missed Peggy…and that is one Miss Zola.

With everyone schedules over the past few months not being able to sync up so the Sheppard's could come to sunny southern California for a visit, Callie and I decide that we would make the road trip up north so I could meet her friends and not just say hello to them via the computer. Then it will be up to the Sheppard's to figure a certain time for their visit down south later this year. With Lexie living not too far away from our beach house, Meredith will want to see her sister more often now.

Driving deep into the woods it sort of reminds me when my father was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Lt. Col. Daniel Timothy Robbins would take his family to explore every state that he was stationed at just so we could experience the magnitude of living in this great country of ours. In North Carolina you can be on the beach swimming in the Atlantic Ocean and four hours later you can be fishing and camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains. That is what this area of the state of Washington reminds me of as I gaze out the passenger window in amazement. Then we come to a clearing in the woods and at the edge of the mountainside stands a beautiful home that landscapes the city of Seattle.

Zola comes running outside before any of us manage to get out of the vehicle with her mother carrying baby Bailey and her father hot on her trail. Sofia takes it upon herself to introduce her mama Arizona to the members of the Sheppard family. Derek and Arizona takes our luggage to the back bedroom while our little mija takes her suitcase into Zola's room and they along with Bailey disappear from the grown ups. The adults take a seat at the little nook off the kitchen where Meredith and Arizona grab Derek and I each a cup of coffee as well as themselves. Sitting and talking shop with Derek and Meredith feels like old times but when Derek slips and says something about Mark, the four of us begin to laugh at the predicament that happened a few months back when Mark found out about Lexie and Meredith.

We spend my first day in Seattle with the Sheppard family at their beautiful home and I am beginning to see why they are a special couple of Callie's friends. They are generally concerned about how she and Sofia are doing since they both left Seattle last year. After the lovely couple prepares all of us a delicious meal, we all take a walk around the breathtakingly beautiful landscape that is the Sheppard acreage. Then we come up to a clearing and I notice a silver airstream trailer sitting all by its lonesome that is a little weather beaten and I think that this might be someone's hunting trailer. But then my girlfriend says "You still have your trailer Derek" as we watch the three young children play around the tattered monstrosity. Derek says proudly "Yes…yes I do Callie" while Meredith begins to explain to me because I am the one out of the loop here…"Derek bought this land when he first moved to Seattle after he left his wife Addison for sleeping with Mark. Then he bought this trailer to live in while he began his career at Seattle Grace".

With Meredith looking over my shoulder to see where the children are as she finds then out of earshot then she says to me and me alone "Then the trailer became every surgeon's little love nest and now that everyone has grown up and have gotten married or have moved away" as Meredith looks straight at Callie and then finishes her thought by saying "The trailer that once was a place to hook up and get laid has now gone by the wayside". I too look right at Callie and Derek as I say "Oh really" in a questioning tone and my girlfriend and Derek Sheppard both begin to stutter with their words and gather up the children and we all walk back to the Sheppard home. While walking back to her house a few steps behind our significant others, Meredith tells me "The only difference with all the folks hooking up in this trailer, Derek and I have been together the longest…so maybe that is why I do not want him to get rid of the trailer…it has some sentimental value between the two of us".

I am getting ready for bed in the guest bedroom that rests at the back of the Sheppard home, far away from everyone else in the house, when Callie walks into the bedroom after tucking in our little mija. The upper half of my body is exposed in all of its nakedness to my girlfriend when she continues her walk to me as she swallows me up in her arms. Callie begins moaning my name into my mouth while passionately kissing me. I wrap my legs around her torso while my girlfriend leads the two of us to the queen size bed in the middle of the room. When Callie lays my body down on the downed comforter that adorns the top of the bed I tug on her blouse and draw it over her head as she places another sensual kiss on my lips.

Callie rips off the shorts I just placed on my lower body in one fail swoop and she immediately goes to work going down on me while I whisper in the night air "Callie". My girlfriend tosses my thighs over her shoulders as my lower legs drape over her back. Then both of her hands make their way up my body and begin to rip at my breasts. I try to tell Callie in a calm way "Slow down baby…I'm not going anywhere" but my words are fruitless as she sucks on my clit hard and drives her tongue deep inside of me at a hurried pace. After Callie brings me to one of the most oddest feeling earth shattering orgasms I have ever experienced with a woman, I think about asking her what is going on but before I can even ask her anything Callie begins another assault on me by kissing me passionately again and pining my body against the top of the bed with her body on top of me. Callie begins plunging her fingers deep into my pussy all the while kissing me and never releasing me from her grip. Then when she does move her lips from mine Callie whispers in my ear as she grabs a hold of my hand and thrusts my fingers deep inside of her screaming "Fuck me Arizona…fuck me now…I want to feel both of us come at the same time…fuck me now Arizona".

I take my hand away from inside my girlfriend and place both of my hands on her hips. When Callie tries to kiss me again I push her off my body and onto the top of the bed beside me and I yell very loudly "Stop Callie…No". I sit at the edge of the bed for a moment while I hear Callie take a breath and say "What's wrong Arizona, I thought you liked it when I make love to you". I stand up and scream at my girlfriend "I do love it when we make love…but this…what you have just done to me…is not making love to me Callie. I don't know what the hell happened in your life that you think what just happened is making love to me…but I can assure you my dear…you were not making love to me…you were making love to someone else…for that I am sure. So how many men was it Callie…or maybe I should rephrase that by asking…how many…how many people did you sleep with in Derek's trailer Callie"?

Meredith wakes me up because I have taken up residence on her sofa after fighting with Callie last night. I tell the keeper of the Sheppard household "Good Morning" when she asks "Are you alright Arizona"? I smile my best smile and say "Yea, Callie's snoring just gets to me sometimes". Meredith just laughs and says without thinking "Yea, George used to say the same thing about Callie's snoring". I manage to keep on smiling but I really want to ask Meredith all about Callie's conquests while she lived in Seattle…but Meredith says to me first while she is getting ready to leave "I just got called into the hospital. Derek left hours ago for an early surgery. The kids are still sleeping. So if you and Callie can get them ready and bring them by the hospital when they wake up I would really appreciate it very much". And before I can say a word in any kind of protest Meredith says on her way out the door "Bailey just had a bottle at 6 a.m. and is good until around 9 a.m."

I find the coffee maker and begin making some of the addictive refreshment. I hear the bedroom door open and see Callie walk out and into the kitchen. She looks ragged and worn out when she says almost in a whisper "Hey baby…I am so sorry". I take two coffee mugs out of the cupboard and do not say a word to my girlfriend and I set them on the counter while waiting for the coffee to finish brewing. I watch Callie take a seat at the island through the glass doors of the cupboard as I hear her whisper "Arizona". I grip the edge of the granite countertop when I say again "How many Callie and what are their names…if you don't answer me then we are done…do you hear me Callie…we are through".

I take a deep breath and say "Six" and then I reiterate my answer a little more clearer as I say "I mean four people…six times". Then Arizona says with so much distaste in her voice that I can feel it from across the room "Names". I try my best to defuse the situation when I say her name again in a whisper "Arizona" but the slamming of her hand on the island countertop as she turns to me and screams "Names Callie…I want some fucking names and I want them now". I look into my lover's eyes and say "Ok…alright Arizona…I'll give you their names but please keep your voice down…you'll wake the children". Before I can do what my girlfriend has asked of me we both hear Sofia and Zola coming out of Zola's bedroom all giggling.

Arizona leaves the kitchen area before the two little angels see us fighting and makes her way back into the bedroom. I ask Zola and Sofia to take a seat at the kitchen table and I will make them some breakfast. Thirty minutes later Arizona emerges from the bedroom area just as Bailey begins to cry over the baby monitor. Arizona says "I'll get him" and leaves my sight again. When she brings him back into the kitchen he has been changed and dressed. Arizona places him in his bouncy seat that rests on the kitchen table and walks over to the counter to mix up his bottle. With Zola's help my girlfriend has his bottle ready just as the little man has time to start crying again. Arizona pushes Sofia's juice closer to her when she sees our daughter trying to reach for it and I hear our mija says "Thanks mama" and her mama just smiles. I tell everyone "I'll be right back…I'm going to take a shower".

When I get out of the shower I hear the children playing out back as I look out the window of the bedroom and see Arizona on the back porch with Bailey in his car seat ready to go. I walk out onto the porch and ask "Everybody ready to go"? My girlfriend stands to say for a third time since last night "Names…I want names Callie…because if I have to go to that hospital today…I want names". I watch Arizona make sure that Bailey is secure in his car seat as I whisper "Mark…three times…George once…Erica once…and…Alex Karev once". I have told Arizona about Mark, George and Erica but I never told her about Alex. I hear Arizona tell the girls that we are ready to leave but then she turns to me and says "Who's Alex"?

On the car ride to the hospital with Zola and Sofia keeping Bailey and themselves occupied, I explain to my girlfriend who is Dr. Alex Karev. I also tell Arizona that after the discussion about the trailer yesterday with Meredith and Derek, my head became all messed up when I walked into the bedroom to see her half naked. I say to her "I just wanted you so bad…that I let myself get carried away…that the thought of having rough sex with Karev once before in that trailer clouded my judgment. Please forgive me Arizona…please". I completely forget where I am when I become so emotional but then I hear my daughter ask "What's wrong mami"?

I try to ease my girlfriend's tears when I hear our mija ask her what is wrong that I tell Sofia "Oh it's nothing mija…your mami just misses everybody here in Seattle and seeing them again just touches her heart so much". Sofia stares at her mami through the rear view mirror and says "Me too mami, Zola and I cried ourselves to sleep last night because we are so happy to see each other again". Callie wipes her eyes and tells me "I'm so sorry…I promise it will never happen again…I love you". I take her hand in mine and say "We'll talk more about this later…and I love you too".

After we drop all three children off at the daycare for a few hours so I can give Arizona the tour of Seattle Grace Hospital, I call Meredith and Derek and tell them that Zola and Bailey are at the daycare. Then Arizona and I walk through the halls of this teaching hospital and the first person we run into is the cardio thoracic fellow Dr. Christina Yang. When I introduce the fine young surgeon to my girlfriend I first use the word "roommate" to describe Christina but then quickly explain myself by saying "Not that kind of roommate". Christina laughs and then makes sure that Arizona knows for a fact that she is not a "lady lover".

We both get off the elevator and make our way around the different departments as I introduce my girlfriend to some of my former colleagues and friends. But when we arrive at the cafeteria to grab something to drink and be on our way, a voice shouts out over all the other voices in the large room as Arizona and I hear this female voice say from the middle of the cafeteria "Well…Well…Well as I live and breath…Dr. Arizona Robbins…what the fuck is your ugly mug doing gracing the halls of this hospital…you slumming"? Just as I am about to say something back to this woman Arizona walks in front of me and says to me "I got this Callie". I watch my girlfriend pull out her all access "butch" hall pass and say "Are you fucking kidding me…who in their right mind is still letting you practice medicine…don't they know you are a fucking lunatic". I watch Arizona come face to face with this woman…and along with about fifty other people in the cafeteria…we all wait with anticipation.
