Tsunar, Borgakh and Serana spent the remainder of the day at Fort Dawnguard resupplying, maintaining their gear and getting some much needed rest. As soon as the Sun's light brightened the sky, they were off for the Moth Priest's glade. They wasted no time in their journey and made their way to Falkreath within a week. Making their way up the frost bitten mountain, they wandered icy peaks for over a day before stumbling upon the glade.
Entering the cave, they found what seemed like an unremarkable cavern. Plants grew here and there, bushes and moss bringing some colour to the brown dirt and gray stones, though no sign of the trees, moths or knife that Dexion had described. Venturing further in, the cave opened up to reveal a gorgeous sight. A break in the stone ceiling allowed rays of sunlight to stream into the glade, nurturing several trees that grew around shallow puddles of clear water down some stairs. Flowers, shrubs and grass blanketed the floor and several swarms of moths fluttered about the cavern. In the center of the cavern was a stone structure with a hole in its center. An ornate draw knife rested on the pale stone.
Tsunar took the knife and felt along its blade. The metal was sharp and rust free despite not being used in Gods know how long. Tsunar shaved the bark from one of the nearby trees, creating a slightly sweet aroma that wafted through the air. Taking up the bark, he then approached one of the moth swarms. Once the insects caught the bark's scent, they began to flutter around him. The Scrolls slung over Tsunar's shoulder seemed to hum ever so slightly as more and more moths swarmed.
"Maybe it's the light," Serana muttered, admiring the sight. "But you're kind of glowing right now." Tsunar shrugged off the comment and returned to the stone structure in the cavern's center. He took out the Scrolls and took a deep breath as he unfurled one and began to read.
Tsunar's vision blurred until he seemed to go blind. He heard whispers, hisses and faint screams. A pair of burning orange eyes suddenly pierced the darkness. He recognized the eyes of a vampire in an instant. He saw the outline of a bow held beneath a woman's body. As blood dripped onto the weapon, it morphed into a horrid sight. The elegant shape turned into a twisted mess of bone and sinew, arrows below it grew spikes and the shafts cracked under the corruption's weight. A darkened figure took the horrid weapon and notched an arrow, aiming upwards. The arrow was loosed and the sound of a flickering fire rang in Tsunar's ears. The flickering was cut short suddenly as a red stain appeared in the sky. As the vision began to fade, Tsunar felt compelled to reach for the other Elder Scroll. Unfurling it, he found the last portion of Harkon's prophecy.
He saw the image of a clear blue sky. His vision then turned downwards to reveal the province of Skyrim, hundreds of feet below him. Tsunar was suddenly dragged downwards to a valley. His vision blurred as he descended. His vision darkened, allowing him to see nothing but black outlines of the world around him. A light emanated from three figures standing around an alter, the only detail he could make out in this sea of black, though even they were too blurry to glean any detail. One of the figures held a white bow. It held the weapon aloft and the artifact began to hover. As the three chanted, the item was drawn above a golden alter and seemed to sink into the metal. As Auriel's Bow was stashed away from the world, a hazy image began to form in Tsunar's sight. It clarified as the figures seemed to evaporate. The image became a familiar sight, a map of Skyrim. A light blue dot appeared on the map, right where the glade Tsunar was in was located. The dot elongated and extended into a line that wound its way across the map before stopping in the northwestern mountains, bordering High Rock. Tsunar made sure that the path was burned into his mind as his vision faded. As his sight returned and he was back in the glade, Tsunar dropped to his knees, dropping the Scroll. Serana and Borgakh rushed forward as Tsunar tried to steady his breathing. He knew what Dexion meant when he said the reading made him weary. Tsunar felt that he was on the verge of passing out, he felt light headed and yet his skull seemed to weigh ten tons. His hands were numb and he fought to keep his stomach from rising in his throat. As his breathing steadied and he recovered, Tsunar rose to his feet with the help of his companions.
"So," Serana said, setting Tsunar down on a rock. "What did you see?"
"A lot." Tsunar sighed. He did his best to recount his visions to the pair. As Tsunar brought up his map and traced the path with his finger, his bestial nose picked up a scent. The odour was familiar to him at this point. Tsunar quickly stuffed the map back into his pack and rose to his feet, drawing his sword just as a group of vampires rushed down the steps to the glade's center.
As Serana and Borgakh rushed to engage the fiends, Tsunar's dizziness returned and he found himself unable to steady his sword arm. He staggered back as a gargoyle leaped from the fight and ran at him. As the beast raised it's clawed hand, Tsunar was barely able to find the word to defend himself.
"Fus!" Tsunar's shout thundered forwards, shoving the monster just enough to make its strike miss its target. Tsunar raised his shield and prepared for another shout as Borgakh grabbed the gargoyle's horn. The Orc's strength was just barely enough as she threw the gargoyle to the ground and brought a flurry of savage axe strikes to its chest. Once the the fight had died down and the attackers lay dead, Tsunar turned to Serana.
"Your father's servants I assume. Must've tracked us here."
"Thankfully they won't be giving him any information." Serana panted. "What happened to you? You don't normally need that much help in a fight and I feel like that shout was missing a word or two."
"Reading Elder Scrolls takes a lot of energy it seems." Tsunar replied, still feeling weak.
"You should rest." Borgakh suggested. "We'll find another cave and make camp. Auriel's Bow isn't going anywhere and Harkon's people don't know where to look."
