After five years I am returning to this story. I randomly got an email with a review that was just posted about this story begging me to continue. I haven't written anything new in a long time so I apologize if this isn't much better. I will be trying to finish this story because I just feel it needs done. I am excited to present a new chapter after 5 long years of waiting.
Chapter 14 I expected no less
"Let me out of this damn room!" Yuuri shouted as he pounded on the locked door for the millionth time that day.
"Yuuri really, stop yelling. No one is expecting you back for a few days, so I have plenty of time to perfect my plan, and you have time to wait. pounding about the door will get you nowhere."
Yuuri shoved away from the door and stomped around the room. No windows around him to use, and no weapons. It may have looked like a room, but now it was feeling more like a cage. The double black slammed his hand against the desk.
"I can't believe this is happening! How could we agree to this plan without knowing whether or not this dude was crazy?" Yuuri asked himself. Of course they had agreed. It was a chance to keep him alive for hundreds of years beyond what they were expecting. Yuuri had already done so many amazing things for his kingdom and wanted to continue to rule alongside his friends as long as possible. It had worked for Conrad, why not him? How could they have known that Sir Jacoby was just a power hungry madman?
Yuuri shook his head and sat down in the middle of the room angrily. He wished now that he had told Wolfram about the plan. Wolfram was the least trusting of people and would have analyzed the situation more critically. Yuuri never thought he would be so envious of Wolfram's ability to not trust strangers.
The horses had held up longer than expected. They had made it nearly 10 miles before stopping to rest.
"He has been there a day already Weller! Anything could have happened! Were you expecting any correspondence?"
"Not until after Yuuri was changed. He should be contacting the castle in a few days time." Conrad explained.
"Yuuri could be dead by then! We would have known no different! Are you truly certain that this Jacoby can be trusted?" Conrad nodded.
"What reason has he to lie about this Wolfram? After all, he saved my life."
"Your life saved or not, I don't trust him. There was something shifty in his eyes the night of the ball. Like triumph. How could a man Yuuri chose over me feel triumph at another man's pain?" Wolfram tapped his foot and bit at his bottom lip. He was anxious. He knew something was amiss.
"Wolfram calm down. We will go to Jacoby, and take Yuuri back with us when his change is over. It isn't ideal that we are there seeing as Jacoby asked for privacy, but I'm sure that he will understand. Now that news has spread of your annulment, bringing Yuuri back yourself will be all the more romanticised by our people. It will take no time at all to share his now prolonged life with everyone." Conrad assured him. Wolfram shook his head slightly.
"That's if he is still alive when we find him." Wolfram's anger faded quickly though, into worry. "Anniue...I have a feeling that something is wrong." Conrad paused, it was so rare for Wolfram to refer to him as anything other than Weller. These worries were not that of a jealous child, but as a concerned man.
"Wolfram. We will be there soon enough. I can only hope that these feelings you have are misguided. For if we find Yuuri in any other state than expected. Jacoby will be dealing with the most powerful kingdom in our world. He would not risk such an enemy." Wolfram sighed.
"I hope you are right."
Sir Jacoby smiled as he rolled the esoteric stone between his fingers. He had been so upset when the stones showed no effect on Lord Weller. It would be hard to control the outcome of a situation without exploiting a weakness. Now that his potions worked, it would be all too easy to control the political world.
Yuuri was trapped within his walls and could now be forced to bend to his will. After all, the boy had no training in how not to be swayed by torture. A simple contract was all it would take, and he would be at Yuuri's side in Blood Pledge Castle.
The only thing he needed now was to have the boy sign the contract currently hanging on a wall in Jacoby's office. It had taken longer than expected to draw up the contract. The dates had to be fresh and the signatures recent in order to be considered valid.
Thanks to Lady Cecilie's excitement towards scandals, and advancing her kingdom, it had been all too easy to persuade her make the world believe that Yuuri had gone with him willingly. The rumors had already spread that Yuuri had left Wolfram in favor of Jacoby had sparked great excitement. A new marriage contract would only confirm the rumors.
Yuuri's death however, that was a problem. Killing him too quickly, and people would become suspicious of his new husband. No, it had to be done at the right time. He could threaten the young blonde to make Yuuri comply. Dorian had kept coming around to that idea. Especially now that he knew that Yuuri truly cared for the brat.
The young prince was known for his hot temper. Surely he would come after his beloved before the expected few days of Yuuri's return. Jacoby was counting on it. Likely the boy would come alone since his heartbreak would sway him towards acting irrationally. His family would not even know he had gone.
A small clacking at the window alerted Dorian Jacoby to a messenger pigeon sitting at the sill. He quickly opened the window and took the small slip of paper from around its foot. His expression shifted when he read that not one, but two men were headed towards his home.
This changed things. Two bargaining chips against the king instead of one. Wolfram would be easy to contain after entering the house. Lord Weller on the other hand...He was more tricky. Esoteric stones would have no effect.
"It seems that you will make this interesting. I suppose I should have expected no less."
Not too bad for a return I hope. As I said, I'm going to continue working on this one. Please keep me going with reviews!
