Hi guys!
Gosh, it's been ages.
Sorry.
But, I did my usual writers-block remedy, which was to get some good food, put some music on, and lock myself in my bedroom until I wrote a chapter.
Since my writers block is still goin strong, this chapter sucks. I seriously think I need to re-do it, but until then, hopefully this will help anyone who has been wanting another chapter.
Enjoy.
And review.
Morrowseer took one look at me, taking in my colorful hair and hoodie, my emerald green eyes, and my tan skin. He let out an almost animal-like hiss and pointed his finger right in my face, almost quivering in raw anger. Then he spat out three words, three words that were absolutely loaded with venom and hatred.
"What. Is. That."
I raised my eyebrows coolly and crossed my arms, my right hand easing towards my sword on my back, almost unconsciously.
I opened my mouth, about to say something sarcastic and rude that would probably not end well for me, but I didn't care anyway, when-
"That is Glory, and she's a person, not a dog, so get over yourself, squid face." Tsunami spat, glaring at the NightWing. Everyone's mouth, including mine dropped in shock and stared at her, not believing she'd said that. I grinned at her and she winked at me.
And for the first time in a long time I thought I might actually get a friend besides Sunny.
And then I saw Morrowseer's eyes darken, and I knew what was going to happen a split second before it did.
Morrowseer lunged at Tsunami, a giant broadsword appearing from seemingly out of no where and crashing towards her.
Reflexes alone saved her, as her own sword seemed to leap from her scabbard and up to meet him. Sunny and Clay rushed in to help. My hand started to pull my new sword out, but then I stopped.
Morrowseer was holding back, quite obviously so.
It was a test.
Of course it was.
And there was no point for me. This was a test I'd already failed.
Suddenly the fight stopped.
Morrowseer had disarmed Tsunami, Clay was also scrambling for his weapon, and Sunny was no longer attempting to tackle Morrowseer, because he was pointing at Tsunami.
"She'll do."
Webs hadn't moved. Neither had Starflight. And neither had the newcomer.
"So will he." Morrowseer said, nodding at Clay.
"As for this one.." he lifted Sunny's chin with his fingers, staring into her eyes.
That's when I started forward, ready to slice off a finger or something, but he dropped his hand almost immediately.
"We'll see."
I slowly eased the half of the sword i'd drawn back into the scabord.
"She fits the prophecy." Webs said
"Dune found her egg buried out alone, near scorpian den."
Sunny turned towards Webs, eyes wide.
We'd been orphans forever. But he knew more then we did about where we came from. Did who know who our parents were?
I was ready to hold him at gunpoint and get some answers, but his mouth snapped shut at Morrowseer's look. I frowned.
Did Morrowseer not want us to know anything about our parents?
"As for you," Morrowseer turned to Starflight, who suddenly looked scared out of his mind. I felt a wave of sympathy.
"You must have used your powers to find that I meant the SeaWing no harm." I raised my eyebrows. As far as I could tell, Starflight had no powers to speak of, and was simply terrified or the NightWing. But I kept my mouth shut.
"As for that one.." Morrowseer looked at me, gaze full of contempt. I glared at him. He looked at the two guardians.
"We'll talk later."
And then he led Starflight to another room, and the office was silent.
"Come on." Webs said, leading the other man away.
"We need to talk."
Ooooo! I bet you know what's coming next!
Wow, I can't believe how much like the book that chapter was. Sorry about that. Don't worry, as the story goes on, you'll see it's VERY different.
Such as, Deathbringer will probably make an appearance sooner. He'd better. Otherwise I will be unhappy. (At myself)
Anyway, I'm sorry this chapter was so sucky. Writers block is still here. Plus I didn't get any reviews.
My muse LIVES on reviews. Without them, my muse shrivels up and dies, like a pear that was left in the sun for to long, and is not a wrinkly, dry, pruny, mess.
It's not pleasant.
So review!
And tell me- what should Clay's weapon be? CUZ I DON'T KNOOOOOOOOOW!
