Chapter Fourteen:
I Knew It!
Silver couldn't see anything due to the bag over his head. It was stuffy, it smelled oddly of oranges, and all he wanted was his Blazey Wazey.
But no—he had to be the sacrifice to the crazies that were kidnapping them in the first place. He wondered to himself as whomever had their hands on him guided him up what seemed ten flights of stairs.
Who the hell had this idea? What was the point of sacrificing myself when the bad guys took my phone and I have no communication whatsoever with my friends?
Well, the sacrificing hadn't been the entire plan. But Silver didn't know that. He just had to hope that his friends would somehow rescue him and the others before being in the same boat. The same stinking, rotting boat—which still oddly smelled like oranges.
It might've been Silver's nose playing tricks on him, or it might have been Silver going loony.
Finally, they came into a bright room that made the bag more visible to Silver's eyes. The bag was ripped off his head and he could see clearly who was holding him. To his left, he sized up the blue echidna.
Vince. Hm…I bet I could use my powers to hold him still while beating up the other guy.
He looked over to his right. The grey hedgehog named Dan was familiar to him. He was sure Amy had spoken about him often enough for him to remember who Dan was and to have Shadow tremble in jealousy.
Hmmm…Dan. Danny Boy. He doesn't look too buff. I could take him.
"Hello, Silver."
He, at first, thought it was his conscience speaking to him. Then he figured that his conscience wouldn't be in a female voice or things were just be a little bit awkward between the two.
Ahead of him, Silver saw the brown cat from earlier. The foggy one that he knew from somewhere—the foggy one that wasn't so foggy anymore.
She swished her cat tail—green eyes looking at him in a way that it made him extremely uncomfortable. She gave him a wicked smirk. "Isn't it nice to see us?" She wandered forward, flicking her tail from side to side as Vince and Dan kept a firm hold on Silver.
The white hedgehog squinted at her.
Oh, I know her from somewhere. I swear I do.
"We're such big fans."
Silver's eyes widened as the memory rushed back to him. The fair—the dare—the fake proposal—the cat.
"Ooooh, I KNEW IT!" He yelled in her face, struggling to get free now as he leaned forward. Vince and Dan tugged him back and the grip got lose as Silver paused. "Wait—what?"
Kassidy's creepy grin stayed on her muzzle as more figures ventured out of the dark shadows of the bright room. It was kind of ironic, but the swinging lamp above him was the only light in the giant room.
All familiar faces were seen, except for two. There was Lenny, Jason, Zach, and Marty. Silver had no problem picking them out of the group. The two new ones were the black hedgehog with his quills pointed up and dark brown eyes that seemed to look into Silver's soul, and then there was the russet female cat that swung her arm around Kassidy's shoulder romantically. Her brown eyes looked a little softer, but Silver could hint the slightest evil in them.
Of course, Kassidy said something about being a lesbo. I guess she wasn't lying so we didn't have to spend a fortune on getting married, thank God.
"I see you've met my friends," Kassidy said.
Silver glanced between each of the males he already knew before landing on the russet cat and black hedgehog. "Most of them," he muttered with a cold stare.
"Hmmm," Kassidy smiled softly as she hummed. Wrapping her arm around the russet cat's waist, she pulled the female closer. "This is my girl, Laurie. And this is Christopher." She nudged her head towards the black hedgehog that kept his distance from most of the men in the room and stayed closer beside Kassidy.
Silver looked between the two newbies. "How nice…"
"I thought you would say so."
"But why us? Why are you doing this?"
"Aw, that's what they all said too," Kassidy walked around him, letting go of Laurie. "You see, they all had their fair amount of questions and curses—at the least the ones that came around did. 'What do you want with us?' 'Why are we here?' 'What do you want?' 'What are you trying to accomplish?'" She said this all as she circled around him before finishing with a whisper in his ear. "'Why are you doing this?'"
She pulled away and sauntered back to Laurie and Christopher. Turning completely back around to face him with a blank stare, she said, "You see I take pleasure in making people suffer. I currently had two workers for me. They were…well, how do you say this?" she shrugged to herself before staring directly at him. "They were doing some dirty work for me—getting some old nuisances off my back. You might have heard of them. You might have not."
Silver swallowed heavily, not sure where this was going entirely until she spoke again.
"I told them to finish the job in West Mobius."
Fiona's stomach grumbled for hunger and she winced mentally, hoping her baby was okay and safe. They hadn't been fed, but were able to talk amongst each other.
Sonia and Sonic were the ones doing the talking though. They were trying to think of some way out when the door opened and a body was thrown in. It landed with a harsh thud and a groan.
Amy was the first to whisper after the door closed. She was closest to the body, "Silver?"
The white hedgehog came into the small light they had and grinned weakly, "Hey, Amy. You'll never guess who I ran into."
~.~
"You mean it was definitely those guys from the gym?" Amy questioned.
Silver nodded, "Yeah, and the chick from the fair? She's psycho."
Sonic was in a deep concentration, trapped to his chair. Sarah was across from him, a little more in the only light in the room. Her mouth was still gagged and she had grown quiet in her chair. Fiona wiggled against the floor—her feet tied tightly with rope and bound to Sonia's chair. Her hands were tied behind her back. Sonia was in tied the same as Sonic was in his chair, only she wasn't thinking about how to escape.
"What do you mean?"
"Kassidy. The girl you guys dared me to propose to."
Sonic's head shot up. "Her?"
"Yes. She and her girlfriend are probably at the control of this whole thing. But that's not all—there's this other hedgehog too. Pitch black with dark eyes named Christopher." He turned to Amy who was well hidden in the shadows. "You heard about him?"
Amy shook her head silently.
Sonic frowned. "Then we better not underestimate him."
"We better not underestimate all of them," Silver reprimanded. "One, they kidnapped us and succeeded. Two, they're the people who sent those guys to West Mobius on our camping trip."
Sonic's eyes widened, "The ones who were burying graves for those dead guys in the crates?"
"Yeah."
"You've got to be kidding me," Sonic groaned. "We're dealing with murderers again. I think I would rather stick with Eggman."
They were silent for a mere minute before Silver smacked his lips and looked at everyone he possibly could. "So…Has anyone figured a way out?"
