First I would like to say, that episode was amazing. Callie referring to the moms as her moms. Ugh the feels! Anyways guys, I'm back. I really really want to start moving this story line along so I'm planning a time jump. I will take thoughts and ideas about it, but it's just time to move this story along. So that's my plan. I hope you guys approve. This chapter skips some time later on, just a little but I hope you guys enjoy. Read, review and enjoy.

"Whoa." Brandon says as he walks in the backyard. Streamers, balloons, cotton candy machine, and large pool fill the backyard in preparation of Callie's birthday.

"Mommy! It's awesome!" Brandon runs over to his moms.

"Well thank you B." Stef laughs picking up her son.

"But it's not for you, it's for Callie." Brandon nods.

"I know. But mommy, her birthday is not until tomorrow." Brandon reminds and Stef smiles.

"But tomorrow is a school day, we can't have a party on a school day, so we are just celebrating it today with friends, and then tomorrow it will be just us celebrating." Stef explains setting Brandon down.

"Mommy!" Callie comes running outside and Stef smiles.

"Hi baby girl!" Stef swoops her up and kisses her.

"How was your birthday lunch with grandma?" Stef asks her as Callie looks around.

"Good."

"Good." Stef kisses her again before setting her down.

"Go see your mama." Callie runs off to find Lena and Stef walks in the kitchen where Sharon is wiping off Jude's face.

"Destroying evidence?" Stef walks in and Sharon looks at her and smiles.

"Just so Lena doesn't find out." Sharon dries Jude's face before handing him to Stef.

"Ice cream." Jude says pointing to the bowls on the table.

"Mom." Stef sighs and Sharon smiles. "Lena is going to kill me." Stef says and hands Jude a carrot stick.

"Because one carrot will make up for all the sugar he is going to consume today." Sharon laughs and Callie comes in the kitchen.

"Mommy, do I have to change?" Callie asks as she climbs on to the stool and grabs an apple slice.

"Sorry buggy. Mama wants to take pictures." Callie takes a bite of apple but sets it back on the tray.

"Can you help me grandma?" Callie asks and Sharon nods and walks over to pick up her granddaughter.

"The dress is in her closet mom." Stef says picking up Callie's apple slice and eating it. Sharon walks up the stairs and Stef walks to the backyard to find Brandon standing on the step of the pool.

"Mommy! I want to get in!" Brandon yells and Stef shakes her head.

"Not until we take pictures. Mama's orders. Grandma is already upstairs." Brandon climbs off the step and runs inside.

"Hey babe." Stef walks over to Lena who is talking to the photographer.

"This is my wife Stef, and our youngest Jude." Lena introduces. The photographer smiles and waves and Stef allows Lena to finish giving instructions. When she is done Lena turns and takes Jude.

"Brandon and Callie changed?" Lena asks and Stef nods.

"My mom is handling that." Lena nods and kisses Jude's cheeks.

"I'm going to change, because my already prepared wife did." Stef kisses Lena before walking upstairs.

After pictures, Callie and Brandon happily change into their bathing suits and people start arriving. Stef puts food on the BBQ and Lena keeps an eye on all the kids in the pool, as the photographer is still taking action pictures.

"Mommy." Callie runs over to her and Stef sets her beer down and squats down to her daughters level.

"What's up baby?"

"I'm hungry."

"Well there are snacks over there but the food is almost done if you want to wait." Stef offers and Callie nods.

"What's after food?"

"Then cake." Stef answers.

"Then what?" Callie asks and Stef stands and flips a burger.

"Then presents, then everyone goes home." Stef says answering the question before it is asked.

"Can they just go home now?" Callie whines slightly and Stef shakes her head.

"That's not polite bug." Stef reminds her.

"Mrs. Foster!" A little boy comes over with a plate in his hand.

"Hi Timmy how are you?" Stef asks and Callie peeks around her moms legs to look at him. "Callie you remember Timmy from school?" Timmy waves and Callie just looks at Stef.

"I'm ok. I just turned 7." He smiles proudly and Stef takes a sip of her beer.

"Congratulations." Stef smiles and Timmy watches her.

"Mommy. Can I go inside?" Callie groans and Stef looks at her daughter.

"Callie." Stef gives her a warning look and Callie stops. Stef gives Callie a reassuring smile and looks back at the burgers.

"Did you know that beer is very bad?" Stef's smile starts to fade and she takes the beer bottle from her lips.

"Thank you Timmy, for telling me that." Stef forces a smile and looks down at Timmy.

"Beer was the reason my mommy left my daddy." Stef stops mid burger flip and looks at Callie who has a panicked look on her face.

"Have a burger Timmy." Stef places the burger on Timmy's plate and pats his back. Timmy walks away and Stef looks at Callie.

"Don't worry love." Stef squats down and Callie shakes her head.

"You can't leave." Callie whines wiping her tears.

"Oh honey, I'm not going anywhere." Stef uses her thumb to wipe tears off her daughters face.

"No." Callie back away from Stef.

"Callie, come here sweets." Stef reaches for her daughter but Callie backs away and runs into the house. Stef stands up and grabs the nearest person.

"Watch the food." She orders not knowing who it is before running in the house after her daughter.

"Callie!" Stef calls as people walk in the front door.

"Hi, welcome." Stef smiles as they walk in the back yard. Stef waits until they are outside before running up the stairs.

"Callie honey?" Stef walks into all the rooms calling out Callie's name. Stef walks into the master and flops on the bed. Today was not really Callie's idea. Callie just wanted a quite night with her moms with cake and presents, and Stef couldn't blame her. Lena thought it would be a good way for Callie to feel she was apart of the family, and Stef agreed to that as well. Parties are ok in Stef's opinion, until kids like Timothy Simms ruin it. Stef sighs and lays back laying an arm over her eyes. She feels the bed shift and she sits up in hopes it is Callie.

"Lena." Stef smiles and Lena runs her fingers through her wife's hair.

"What are you doing up here? Hiding?" Stef laughs and shakes her head.

"I lost the birthday girl." Stef admits and Lena smiles.

"She is right under your nose." Lena says and Stef raises her eyebrow. Lena gets off the bed and lifts the bed skirt to reveal, Callie sleeping peacefully.

"That's why she melted down?" Stef asks shaking her head. Stef and Lena just sit there and watch their daughter sleep for a few minutes.

"Should we move her?" Stef asks and Lena shakes her head.

"No, but we should get down to the party and start clearing people out." Lena smiles and Stef looks at her wife.

"You are planning something." Stef accuses and Lena shrugs.

"Am I?" She stands up and dodges Stef's attempt to smack her butt.

When Callie finally wakes up, it is dark outside and silent in her house. She slides out from under her mothers bed and looks around. She runs her eyes and walks down the stairs but doesn't see anyone.

"Mommy?" Callie calls out. She yawns and stretches before walking towards the backyard and walking outside.

"Wow." Callie gasps as she takes in the backyard. Lights are streamed up in the backyard, the pool is still there, and the table of presents. The table with all the snacks, is now replaced with all of Callie's favorite foods, and balloons still tied up. The cotton candy machine still there, as Callie can't help but to smile.

"Happy birthday." Both moms come rushing out the house and Stef swoops up Callie and they both hug her. Callie giggles fill the air and Stef and Lena continue to kiss her everywhere.

"Where everybody go?" Callie asks after Lena and Stef stop kissing her.

"Home. We thought a smaller party would be a little more fun." Lena says and Callie smiles.

"Happy birthday to you!" Sharon comes out holding the cake singing, followed by Brandon and Dana, and Stuart holding Jude.

"Happy birthday to you!" Stef and Lena starts aiming and walking towards the table Sharon set the cake down on.

"Happy birthday dear Callie... Happy birth-day to yoooooouuuuuuuu!" Everyone claps and cheers and Stef and Lena sit behind the candles with Callie.

"Make a wish and blow out the candles." Stef whispers and Callie shuts her eyes real tight before opening them and blowing them out.

"Yay!" Everyone claps and Callie smiles.

"Alright my babies. Cake, then-"

"Presents!" Callie finishes for Stef and everyone laughs.

"Very good my little party animal." Stef picks up and cake and walks inside to start cutting it.

"Callie, the pool is warm." Brandon pulls Callie towards the water.

"You did good." Sharon says to Stef as she walks out with sliced cake on plates. Stef stops and looks at her mom.

"I am proud of the mother and woman you have become Stefanie." Sharon takes a plate and walks away from her daughter. Stef tries to keep the tears at bay as she calls Callie and Brandon over.

"Ok, ok. This is from me and mama." Stef says placing a box in front of Callie. So far Callie has received a new guitar from Sharon, the camera she wanted from Dana and Stuart, some clothes and other toys from friends, cards with money, and some gift cards.

"What is it?" Callie asks and Stef slides out her chair and sits behind Callie.

"That's why you have to open it silly." Stef kisses her hair and stays there as Callie opens it. Callie opens it and gasps as soon as she sees it. Inside was a framed picture of Callie and her moms. Callie was staring at something not paying attention and She was on Stef's lap who was pointing to something and Lena was looking at both of them with love. Underneath it all of their handprints with writing.

"It takes good parents to make a kid special, but it takes a special kid to to make parents good." Stef reads out and Callie turns to look at her mom.

"You make us good kid." Stef smiles with tears in her eyes. Callie throws herself on her mom and Stef holds her. Lena gets on the floor wit her wife and daughter and embraces both of them. The rest of the family watches the moment before Sharon stands.

"Ok, I have one more surprise." Callie and the moms pull away and Stef wipes her eyes.

"What? Mom." Stef watches her mom come back with a box and a bow on it.

"Oh god mom, that better not be what I think it is." Stef says and Sharon smiles at her granddaughter.

"Go ahead." Callie pulls the bow and opens the box.

"Wow!" Callie pulls out a small husky puppy.

"Mommy can we keep him?!" Callie squeals and Stef shakes her head and rubs her eyebrow.

"Mom we live in San Diego." Stef laughs skeptically and looks a her daughter. "Yes, ya. Fine." Stef looks at Lena who is rubbing her face.

"Cool!" Brandon jumps from his spot and runs over to the puppy.

"Look Jude." Brandon looks at his little brother who is half asleep on Stuart.

"What's his name?" Dana asks watching her grandchildren

"Declan." Callie says and Stef and Lena give each other an amused look.

xxxxx

"Lena!" Stef calls walking into the house. She throws her keys down and runs up the stairs. It's 8 months after Callie's birthday and besides the occasional chewed shoe, life has been ok. Stef was striving in her new job, Callie and Brandon graduated kindergarten and were doing good in 1st grade, Jude had turned two, Declan was trained, mostly on Stef's behalf. Things were good, until now.

"Where is she?" Stef asks as she walks into her room. Lena points to the bathroom and Stef walks to the door and knocks. Lena called Stef home early to report an incident at school. Apparently she was being teased for not having a daddy and Brandon was participating with the teasing.

"Callie love." Stef knocks but all she gets is sniffles in response.

"She ran in there when we got home." Lena reports and Stef takes off her blazer.

"Where is he?" Stef asks and Lena raises an eyebrow.

"Stef listen to me, I told Brandon you would talk to him when you got home. Talk. You can't go in there angry." Lena says trying to calm her down.

"Can't go in there angry? Are you freaking kidding me Lena."

"Just go talk to him." Lena says trying to be rational.

"I plan on doing a lot more than talking Lena." Stef says placing her hands on her hips. "In what world is that ok for him to do. That is his sister." Stef's face begins to redden and Declan walks in the room.

"He's been looking for Callie." Lena says and Stef gives her a confused look. Lena points to the dog and Stef still looks at her confused.

"The- the dog. Practically attached to Callie." Lena says running her hands through her hair and turning away.

"I'm sorry ok. I just can't believe Brandon would do something like that." Lena says sitting on the bed and Stef places her hands on the dresser.

"Did he apologize?" Stef asks and Lena shakes her head.

"Not yet." Lena whispers and Stef sits next to her wife.

"My heart is breaking for her." Lena whispers and Stef pulls her into her side.

"I know love." Stef kisses Lena's head and holds her for a minute. The door cracks and both moms sit a little straighter and Callie peaks her head out.

"Hi mommy." Callie croaks out her voice raspy from crying.

"Hi Callie bear." Stef smiles sadly. "Come sit with me?" Stef pats the bed in between her and Lena. Callie takes the invitation but sits in Lena's lap instead.

"How are you?" Stef asks and Callie shrugs her shoulders.

"Want to know a secret?" Lena whispers and Callie turns her head to look at her mom.

"You have a dad you know. Everyone has a dad." Lena tells her and Callie's eyes widen.

"Really?" Callie asks in confirmation.

"Oh ya. But you know what makes you so special?" Lena says and Callie shakes her head.

"Your daddy let you have two mommies instead of one mommy and one daddy." Lena tells her and Callie looks over at Stef who nods her head. Callie looks back at Lena and touches her face.

"I like two mommies better." Lena smiles and turns her head to kisses Callie's palm.

"Good cause there is no exchanges on us kid." Stef says tickling her daughter.

"Mommy!" Callie squeals causing Declan to bark. Declan jumps on the bed and Callie laughs louder when he starts licking her face.

"Alright alright." Stef pushes the dog off her daughter and kisses Callie's head.

"I have to go talk to your brother I will be back."

"Stef." Lena starts but Stef hold her hand up.

"Just talking." Lena nods and Stef walks out and to Brandon's room. She opens the door slowly to find her son sitting on the edge of his bed, swinging his feet and staring off into space.

"Care to explain yourself young man?" Stef says and Brandon turns and looks at his mom, his expression panicked.

"I'm sorry mommy, I am. Just everyone was doing it." Stef walks further into his room. Brandon gets off his bed and faces his mother.

"So if everyone was jumping off a bridge I guess that's ok to?"

"No." Brandon answers quickly.

"Then what makes this instance any better?" Brandon looks down at his feet.

"Brandon, she is your sister. I don't care if you don't have any play dates until you are 17 years old, you don't turn your back on family." Brandon shuffles his feet and Stef starts to turn away but stops and looks at her son.

"Mama and I, we love you. We do, just sometimes you do things to disappoint us." She pauses as Brandon looks up at her. "Um, your grounded, one week, school and back. No Aidan's, no piano lessons, no tutor this week, just school and back." Stef walks out Brandon's room, leaving the boy embarrassed.

"Orange." Lena says walking into the kitchen the next morning.

"What?" Stef looks at her confused as she packs Brandon and Callie's lunch.

"Callie is going through her picky phase. No bananas, oranges." Lena fills Stef in who nods and takes out the banana.

"Any other food I should know about?" Stef asks putting an orange in Callie's lunch bag. Lena sits with a cup of coffee and grabs a banana.

"Nuts, mushrooms, olives, and yogurt, are the ones so far." Lena peels the banana.

"Of all the things we missed, why couldn't the picky phase be one." Stef groans and zips up the lunches.

"You are on pick up duty today. I have a meeting." Lena says biting her banana. Stef shakes her head and looks at the refrigerator calendar.

"That's tomorrow love. Today we have that parent informational meeting with Callie's new soccer team." Stef puts bowls on the table and takes down two cereals.

"No Cheerios or pops for Callie. The Cheerios are too hard to scoop and the pops has a weird texture." Lena explains.

"Picky phase?" Stef concludes.

"Picky phase." Lena confirms. Oh the joys of parenting.

So that's it for this chapter? What did you guys think? I'm planning a time jump which will include the twins, finally. I think it's time to develop the characters a little more. So a time jump is needed. That little thing Stef said to Callie, I know it was lame but my mamas used to say it to me so I thought it was fitting. Thoughts? Ideas? I love it when you guys review so keep doing it! Thanks guys!
