Moonlight stroll
A while later Rachel got up and went out and stood on her balcony. It was night now but was Randy was still up, slightly spinning around on one of the stools in the room. Rachel finally came down stairs and smiled. "Hey." Randy spun around. "Oh hey. You're up." He said. "Yeah. I've actually been up for a while. I was just hanging out on my balcony." she replied. "Ah." Randy nodded. "This place is pretty big for a dinner." He said, looking around. "Well they do live here too." "Sounds like a place where Howard would like to live." He comment. She smiled and nodded. Randy smiled. "It's been a little wonky." She laid back against a chair and smiled. "...so... I was thinking about that happen earlier, is there anything else I should know?" Randy suddenly asked her.
She thought about it. "Well obviously I'm prone to heatstroke along with overheating. If I'm overheating I do about the same thing as having heatstroke... Um, if I think of anything else I'll let you know." She told him. "Alright." He replied. She smiled. Randy smiled back and glanced at the window. It was nice out. Rachel glanced at the window too. "Do you want to go do something before it gets dark out?" she asked. "Uh sure." He replied, getting off the dinner stool. "I take it you don't want to go to the zoo?" she asked with a grin. Randy turned his head to look at her. "Whatever give you that idea?" He said sarcastically. She laughed and smiled. "Come on. We can go to the park or something."
"Ok. It's is New York." Randy replied, opening the door. Rachel smiled and walked outside after grabbing a few bottles of water. Randy looked at her. "I could carry some of those for you." He offered. She smiled and handed him some. "Thanks." "Hey, No problem." Randy happily replied. Walking beside her. She smiled and headed to the park. Randy followed along. Rachel led him to the park. She smiled at him. Randy still had a smile on his face. "Looks just like the park back in Norrisville." He said, glancing around. "It does." "Yeah." He said. Ahead of them the path split up, with a large oak tree in the middle. Rachel noticed the old oak tree and approached it. It was old and withering.
She remembered this tree use to be so full of life but now it lied dead. She seemed almost sympathic towards it and reached out and placed her hand on it and the old withering bark slowly started turning a lighter more colorful brown and soon the tree was thriving with life. She smiled as a branch grew towards her baring a fresh apple and she quietly thanked the tree and took it and the branch recoiled and grew straighter. She turned to randy, smiling. Randy was looking at the now flourishing oak tree in awe and then look at Rachel. "Why did you do that?" He asked.
"When I was younger my family would have picnics under this tree all the time. I guess I was repaying it for all those times it gave us a nice place to stay." He smiled not even questioning that she did without her ninja suit on. "That's nice." She smiled back and looked down the two paths. "Which one?" she asked. "How about the left?" he replied. "Alright." they headed down the left path. "Or maybe right." Randy thought to himself as they walked down the path. Rachel continued down the path. Above them the tree branches reached over the path, making it darker. Randy looked at the trees.
Rachel smiled. "...Hey, is this central park?" He asked, not that he could tell if it was or not. She nodded. "yeah." she replied. There weren't many people around since it was late. "Well at least it's not the zoo." Randy said calmly, not worrying about being attack by anything. She laughed and smiled. "At least." Randy glanced at her. "...Right." He said as his face turned a red. She grinned. She walked onward. It was dark out. The only things lighting the way we're the dim street lights, the stars, and the beautiful full moon. Randy smiled at the serene scenery around them and went up beside her. Ahead of them were just a couple of people, walking away. She smiled at him.
Randy looked at her. "...what?" "Isn't it beautiful out?" she asked. "Yeah, it is pretty nice out." He replied with a slight nod. She smiled and looked at the moon. Randy looked up at the night time sky. "Hmm...Ow?!" He exclaimed lightly, slapping a mosquito off his arm. Rachel giggled. Nothing has bit her. "...I guess we're not alone after all." Randy said quietly, scratching his arm. She giggled gently. "I guess not." Randy looked at the water bottles that he was carrying. "Uh, Water?" He asked. She smiled and nodded. "Sure." She replied. Randy handed one over to her with smile. She took a drink a smiled as she then used her powers to play with it some. Randy watched the water that she was controlling.
She made it stretch out then into a ball. She smiled at him. Randy looked at her then back at the water ball, and the smile on his face being to widen. She smiled back and after a while placed the water back into the bottle. He chuckled lightly, and glanced up the path. Rachel smiled and continued on. Randy looked down at ground as they walked. She looked at him. "Is something wrong?" "I was just thinking." He replied, looking back up. She smiled and nodded. Randy sort of smiled. He was thinking about Nightshade which at the moment, was the last thing he wanted to do. Rachel intertwined her hand with his, still smiling all the while.
The thought quickly vanished from his mind, and looked at her, only seeing the smile on her face. Rachel had a slight blush on her face. She smiled at him as she held his hand and walked. Randy took a deep breath and smiled, enjoying their time alone as they walked under the moonlight. "I'm glad everything has kind of calmed down now." she spoke up. Randy's eyes almost seemed to snap open. "Kind of." He replied. She smiled slightly. Randy glanced to the side. "It's really quite up here, For New York." She nodded in agreement. Randy causally kept walking. "...Should we go back?" He asked. "If you want too." "No. I'm good." He replied. Rachel smiled. Randy smiled back and looked down the path, which the further they went the darker it became.
She smiled at him and kept going. Lightning bugs flashed around them. Randy looked at them. She smiled and blushed lightly. The fireflies lit the area up a bit more, the moon light helped too. "Hmm. Fireflies." He said, looking around. "They're so pretty..." she said softly, blushing as she remembered the fireflies that danced around them when they first kissed. Randy's face slightly turn red, and briefly looked to the side. "Yeah...pretty bruce." Rachel smiled as a few landed on her hand opposite of the one holding Randy's. Randy noticed the glowing by her hand and curiously looked at the fireflies.
She was playing with them. Randy watched for a little bit before looking back down the path with a small smile. She smiled at him. Sensing something was on his mind she looked at him. "Are you ok?" Randy slightly hung his head. "Kind of." he replied, partly in thought. "Kind of?" "Yeah." Randy looked at her. "I'm ok and you're ok but for how long?" he replied. "What do you mean?" she asked. "Nightshade, she doesn't know where you live but she knows where I live." Randy said, saying the last part quietly. She looked at him. "Maybe I should come back. To help with her." Randy sigh. "I don't know." "What do you mean?" "I don't know." He said in a slight weary tone. She looked at him.
"I don't know isn't an answer." She replied. "Your right... I meant to say is, maybe you shouldn't come. Not right now." Randy replied. "Are you sure?" He looked at her. "Yes. I am." Rachel nodded slightly. "Okay...if you need me just call." Randy nodded. "I will." She yawned slightly. Randy lightly smiled. "Come on, let's go back." She nodded slightly and followed him. After a little while the dinner was in their view. Rachel was falling asleep on her feet. Randy help her into the dinner. He was tired too, since he didn't rest much. Once she got to her bed she fell asleep almost instantly. Kristy offered him a guest room for the night. Randy didn't refuse the offer and turned in for the night. Kristy and Alex did too.
