A/N: Kill me if you must but High School is hard and I can't catch a break.

The world, it was all black, he wasn't falling nor was he flying he was just...there. Where he could not say. Who was he? What was he? He was just and entity floating amongst the black oblivion. He heard whispers from an unknown light and started to move towards it suddenly remembering who he was and what had happened in his life. The murder, Bruce, Robin, the Titans, his friends all was suddenly pushed back into his mind and he awoke with a shock looking around wildly at the hospital room.

"I-I'm...alive?" He touched his arms, his face, his chest just to make sure it was all really. He welcomed the sound of the heart monitor and the large window showing a beautiful view of Gotham at night for once letting in the moon and the stars instead of them hiding behind clouds and rain. He almost did his signature cackle in happiness when he relief flooded through him.

But his smile faded when he saw he was alone in the dark room. He wasn't tied and there wasn't really anything for him to do. He groaned in boredom and looked around trying to think of something to entertain his ADHD mind. He hadn't felt this free in quiet awhile even if for his safety he couldn't leave the bed. He twiddled with his I.V. before noticing his cell phone on the nightstand and decided to call Wally.

He clicked the dial button and barely had to wait for the first ring before the worried yet relived voice of the red headed speedster came through.

"Dick? That you? I knew we should have stayed a few more minutes but the rules are rules and the nurse almost threw me out."

Dick laughed slightly, just like any speedster, Wally always put himself before others even if that meant he had to be thrown out by a nurse.

"Yeah, I'm here. Hey, why don't you sneak in here with something. I'm bored to death up here," he smirked knowing Wally couldn't pass the chance on sneaking into the hospital so they could cause trouble.

"Count me in, dude. I'll be there in ten minutes tops." The phone hung up with a click and Dick put the phone down. He vaguely wondered how the Titans were faring but decided to not call them just in case. He reclined on the bed waiting for his redheaded friend to arrive trying to not remember why he was laying in the hospital bed injured badly.

"You should be resting."

The voice almost made Dick jump, "Hey Bruce." He said calmly to the shadows before the Dark Knight came into view his cowl down revealing Bruce Wayne. His face showed the emotions the cowl hid, mostly relief. Before Dick knew it he was brought into a hug.

"It though I lost you." Dick hugged back, "For a second I thought I was a goner too." Tear pricked at his eyes but he blinked them away and broke the embrace. He smiled shyly up at Bruce, "So is he..." he trailed off.

Bruce smirked, "He shouldn't be moving for a couple a months that is for sure."

Dick nodded before cocking his head to the side listening for the fast pounding footsteps that were running up the side of the building.

"I should be going," Bruce said slipping his cowl back on, "I'll see you in the morning." He ruffled Dick's hair before jumping out the window and using his grappling hook to look like he was gliding off.

Wally appeared a few seconds later his arms filled with junk food and a few movies.

A MONTH LATER

Dick sat in his room, bored thanks to Bruce's restrictions of not getting out of bed, he was Daddy!Bats after all. The Titans had gone home after Batman told them Robin's mission would be longer then planned and Speedy had offered to come along instead. With a sigh he looked out his window at the old oak. Ever since he got back he had been wondering if he should go back to Jump and to the Titans...he wouldn't admit it them but now...he missed Gotham.

Sighing and flopping back onto the pillows; he stared up at the ceiling in wonder and confusion. What should he give up his old family, or his new...there had to be a way to keep both there just had to be. His cell phone began to ring and he picked up the device to see who was calling.

It was Roy, probably asking how he could handle all of them and their antics. He sighed and pick up the phone, "Hello?" he answered tiredly.

No answer came from the other side except for a few shouts and a couple of shuffling feet, "Oh hey I was just checking up on you...and this team of yours...how do you handle it?"

Dick cracked a smile, "It's called being trained by Batman. Unlike you who was trained by Robin Hood, I was trained by the best of the best."

He heard Roy sigh in annoyance, "As much as that is funny and all and I do agree Ollie is a pain in the ass I really would like to know how you handle these guys..mostly Beast Boy."

"Well try and get along with Wally and not get annoyed at him and there you go."

The answer didn't seem to satisfy the archer, "Yeah...thanks...that helps SO much."

Robin cackled, "I know, I'm a genius." He grinned despite Roy not being able to see him.

"So you ever thinking of returning...or telling them?"

The question caught the bird off guard. Should he tell them the secret? Should he even go back? It would be quite sudden for him to just run back to Gotham with no explanation.

"Just do what you think is best, Bird Boy," Roy said before hanging up.

Dick went back to staring at the ceiling in thought; he didn't know if he could tell them. After all that he did with them here; all that they had learned how could he even think to tell them who he was. Sighing loudly he looked at the window once more; oh how he longed to go outside again. To be free to do what he wanted again but at the same time he wanted to live his childhood a little longer no matter how messed up or abnormal it was.

"Master Richard, if I may give a suggestion to solving your problem," Alfred had slipped in unaware making Richard jump and look at him. "As much as I-we do love having you back I don't think you should make a decisions just because you want to make us happy but I want you to make a decision that makes you happy. "

Alfred went over and place the plate of cookies down on the nightstand, "You know you are always welcome to visit and call." And with that the British butler left with out another word.

The gears in Richard's head were turning as he thought of what he had to do; a small smile crossed his face as he sat up and munched on a cookie. He had made his decision
