CHAPTER 14

MEETING Piper McLean

PAUL'S POV

I never understood Percy much after he came back from saving the world once again. He kept shutting himself out. I tried making a small talk with him, but all he would ever say is 'Yeah,' or 'No' or 'a little' or anything else to make it really small talk. If anyone, besides Annabeth, can make him talk freely, I will personally bow down and say 'Oh great master, tell me how you did that.' And kiss their feet. Well, not really, but I would be impressed.

There was a knock on the door.

"Coming." I said.

I opened the door and girl stood there. She had choppy brown hair with a feather on it, a Cherokee tan and Kaleidoscope eyes.

"Hi." She said. "I'm Piper, is Percy here?"

"Yeah," I let her in. "He is in his room."

"Is he sleeping?"

"No," I nodded. "Normally, on a Saturday, he would sleep till dinner, but today he woke up early and just went back into his room, he hasn't come back out since breakfast."

"Do you mind if I try talking to him?"

I nodded. "Good luck, his room if down the hall, first door to the right."

"Thanks."

"Hey, are you a demigod?"

She nodded. "Daughter of Aphrodite at your service."

"You don't seem anything like your sister."

"Which one?"

"Drew."

"You met her?"

"Yeah, she gave Percy a 'new look' because of a bet he lost."

"Why does that fail to surprise me." She rolled her eyes. "Well, I'll be right back."

She walked into the hallway and I heard a door open and close. I waited for a little. After 6 seconds later,I silently walked to Percy's door and glued my ear to it.

Do not judge me for eavesdropping on my step-son, I know that a lot of you eavesdrop on people as well.

"-go Percy."

"No." Percy whined. "You go."

"Let's go, Annabeth is gonna come with us."

"Later."

Piper sighed. "Get up and go to your closet and as soon as I reach the door change, then go to the living room."

I stood up straight and as soon as I saw the doorknob turn, I turned around and walked into the bedroom Sally and I shared. I walked to the closet, got some cloth, change, and then went to the living room.

"Oh, there you are... Weren't you wearing something different?" Piper asked.

I nodded.

She raised an eyebrow and after a few seconds she laughed.

"You eavesdropped on Percy and me, didn't you?"

I nodded. "Yeah, how did you know?"

"Cause I told Percy to change, and you changed as well, you over heard my charmspeak."

"And what it that?"

"It's a rare power among the children of Aphrodite, so far only Drew and I have it." She said. "It adds power to your voice which makes it sound demanding, which makes people obey to what you say."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

Percy came out dressed in an Navy Blue American Eagle shirt and jeans.

"Do I have to go?" He asked.

"Yes, or else you'll become anti-social and no friend of mine becomes anti-social on my watch."

Percy groaned and laid on the couch.

"My dear friend, seems like only you understand me."

"Come on, let's go Perce, to the mall we go."

Percy groaned and stood up.

"This is totally against my will." He whined.

"You'll have a fun day I promise."

"Sure." He rolled his eyes.

"Grab your keys and let's go."

He rolled his eyes.

"Paul, can you tell my mom that I've been kidnapped by my friend Piper and she has taken me to the mall and I need to be saved."

"Uhm, sure..."

"Thanks, I'll see ya later."

"Okay..."

"Bye." Piper said.

"Bye." I replied.

And in seconds Percy and Piper were gone.

I wonder if Percy will make it put alive with Piper. On the bright side, I found a way to make him get out of his room, if only I could use charmspeak.

And that is how I met Piper... I don't know her last name.
