Chapter 14

"If I would be anything, I would be your tears. Born in your eyes, kissing your cheeks, and ending on your lips."

Darkness was the only color she could see.

She couldn't move. But even if she did try, immense pain erupts from her neck. So she just stayed there, frozen. Until something sharp, like a needle, pierces into her left arm. The substance that was inserted into her blood, made her open her eyes in pain.

"Welcome back, dear miko."

Kagome recognized the voice and tried to get up, but was held back by chains.

"Wha... What?" Kagome said drowsily.

"Do not worry." He whispered into her ear. "That was only a.. what I call a pain shoot."

She tried to flinch away but he held her by the chain, making her look at him.

She growls, "What the hell do you want?!"

He stroked her chin. "You."

The way he said it gave shivers down her back and she told him to fuck off.

"Kagome Uchiha. Or is it..." He gave her a glance. ".. Higurashi?"

Kagome gasped. "How?.."

"I have my resources."

She kept quiet.

Orochimaru raised a brow. "Giving me the silent treatment, are we?"

No reply.

"If you act like this, then you will go to the dungeons."

She opened her mouth to talk back but shut it quickly.

He shook his head, fake disappointment in his eyes. "Off to the dungeons you go then." He took off the chains on her arms and she tried to get up. She put on foot after another, gritting her teeth, trying not to scream in pain. She clutched her neck, while breathing heavily.

The insane man did nothing but stare in admiration. "Endure the pain priestess. It will soon go away."

The pain in my neck actually did go away, but I found out that both of my swords were taken.

I punched the wall in anger.

Midoriko won't answer my calls. Maybe he put some type of barrier around it. Or maybe..

I touched the 3 holes in the side of my neck.

It's this.

I punched the wall again.

I was about to punch it again when someone said, "What the heck is going on here?" A male voice from the opposite corner of the room muttered. "It's like a freaking earthquake is happening."

I heard him yawn and he stepped into the only light that came through the cell window.

He had black silky hair that and strikingly bright green eyes.

I groaned. Of course, I'm always stuck with the hot guys.

He rose an eyebrow at me, which I thought was pretty cute. Hey don't blame me, my hormones are out of control.

"New?"

I looked into his alluring eyes. "Ya."

"Cool." He said. "I was getting lonely."

He walked closer to me as I eyed him warily. Hey! He could be a monster under the hot body!

He noticed and laughed. (which I thought was pretty cute also) "Don't worry, I don't bite."

From the sunlight coming through the windows, he made a small fireball.

I gasped in surprise.

"But I can control elements though."

Well ok, that helps.

He sat down on a spot near me and asked, "How'd you get here?"

"Got kidnapped." I muttered.

He smiled. "At least you were born outside here."

I snapped her head up. "What?!"

"Over half of us.. Well,.." He scratched him head. "Orochimaru made us."

I just stared at him.

He shrugged. "Like... he made me out of clay and put some weird shit in me."

I giggled. Just like Kikyo. I stopped, and realized that, that was the first real laugh I had in years.

He blushed and looked at the ground. "Your laugh sounds pretty."

I blushed of course. "T-Thanks." I tried to calm my cheeks. No one has ever made me feel like this before. What's going on?!

"Oh ya." He scratched the back of his head again. "I forgot to ask what your name was."

"Kagome."

"That's a pretty name."

I blushed again and I mentally kicked myself for not being able to control myself. "Uh. Yours?"

He looked at the ground and picked up a pebble. "Never actually had one."

I felt like he was lying but I said nothing as he tossed it to me and I caught it.

"Oh." I mumbled, not liking the awkward atmosphere. I tossed it back.

"But I am also referred to," He held up two fingers on each hand, curved. "Test subject 563."

The small pebble bounced on the floor when he didn't catch it. He smiled at the ground and said, "I don't need your-"

"Haruto." I blurted out. I immediately covered my mouth. "Ne-Never mind." I squeaked out.

He looked up in surprise. "Are you freaking serious?"

I crossed my arms and closed my eyes. "Yes."

He laughed, covering his eyes with his eyes with his arm. "You're weird." He flopped down on the ground.

I shrugged. "Well that's a first."

When I didn't get a reply, she looked at the boy laying down next to her and gasped.

"H-Haruto? Did I say something wrong?" I crouched down and swept his hair away from his eyes. "Haruto?" I was about to brush another strand of hair away but he grabbed my hand.

"I feel weird." He muttered, tears slowly falling from his face.

I frowned. I looked over to the bag they left me. "I will go get some-"

"No." He mumbled. "Not that kind of feeling." He pulled me down so that I was now laying on his chest, their faces merely 3 inches apart.

I blushed at the close proximity and asked, "What's wrong?"

I looked up and brushed his silent tears away.

"It's just this feeling I have never felt before."

I smiled. So innocent.. Something that Shippo would say. I bit my lip from crying and said, "Is that so?"

He looked at me and blushed. "It kinda feels good and it's making my heart beat."

I froze.

'Kagome, you're the one who I want to be with. Because you make my heart beat.'

"Kagome?"

I inhaled quickly and breathed heavily. I felt my head land on his chest.

"Kagome?! Kagome!" Haruto said frantically.

"I'm fine." I muttered into his toned chest. "What were you saying?"

He looked at me concerned and continued, "I don't know." He rubbed his eyes. "Never mind. Sorry if I'm acting weird."

"It's fine." I looked up at the window and saw that it was already dark. "I'm going to sleep. See you tomorrow."

"Yea." He muttered, still in confusion. "See ya."

I stood up helping his up. "Night."

"Night."

I walked to a spot near the window and made myself as comfortable as she could.

'It's just this feeling I have never felt before.'

I smiled.

"Yo, Itachi."

The man who looks like a shark said to the the bored slouching man.

"Go fuck yourself."

Kisame snickered. "Alright, alright. I was just about to-"

"Shut up." He glared up at the grinning shark man.

"-tell you about Kagome."

His anger shimmered down. "Kagome?" He asked. He stood up quickly. "Did anything happen to her?! Is she hurt?!"

Kisame held up his two hands. "Calm down. She's not okay. Ya, she's probably hurt."

Itachi gripped his shirt. "What the hell happened to her?"

Kisame pushed him and Itachi tripped and fell on the bed. "Calm down dude."

Itachi took a deep breath then put his hands in his head. "Sorry. Go on."

"Rumors are going around that Orochimaru kidnapped Kagome Uchiha."

Suddenly Itachi couldn't breathe and his heart clutched in fear. Hopefully she's not dead. But is she hurt? Is Sasuke there with her? If that snake bastard did anything to her... I swear-

"Go tell Leader-sama I will be away for a long time."

Kisame sighed. "Knew you were going to do this."

"Ok, I'm off."

"Itachi-"

"Are you gay?"

He ignored his rude comment. "I just want you to know that he's really powerful now. Probably four times stronger when you last saw him."

"You're gay." He concluded.

He continued. "He's going to be really hard to find. People say he has his hideout underground or just a really strong illusion jutsu. No one has ever found it."

Itachi sighed, then Kisame asked. "Do you think that it's still possible to save her?"

Itachi pretended to think. "Yes." Then he jumped out the window.

Kisame sighed in exasperation. "I'm not gay."

Kagome yawned and rubbed her eyes.

"Good morning."

She looked up and smiled at Haruto. "Morning."

Shivering, she rolled to the small ray of sunshine in the dark dungeon.

2 months

She sighed and thought, 'Two months, but yet no one has come to rescue her from this horrid place.' She glanced at her tally marks, using rocks as writing material, to write on the stone walls.

Kagome didn't feel safe without her two annoying swords and it seemed that it was in the room next to them.

'Underestimating snake-eyed jerk'

She walked to the bars, feeling Haruto's watchful eyes on her. She sighed. These stupid bars. The only stupid thing shielding her from her freedom.

Kagome clutched the bars, and didn't even noticed her knuckles becoming, ever so white.

"Damn bastard." She muttered.

"Uhh.. Kagome?"

"I will slice off his fingers one by one." Kagome snickered at the evil thought.

There was definitely something wrong with her. "Uhh.."

"Next, I will cut off his arms and legs, and I will deliciously listen to his pleading-"

"Kagome!"

She took her hands on the bars, staring at her knuckles, going back to its original color. "What?" She hissed, glaring at the handsome boy.

Haruto raised his arms in surrender. "As much as I would like to join you in that.. conversation." He pointed up. "Someone's coming downstairs."

Right on time, the heavily locked door opened and, there stood Orochimaru himself.

Kagome gasped slightly as her curse mark on her neck throbbed, but then muttered, "Oh look, the snake bastard is here." She slid backwards as slow as she can, trying not to make him see her.

"Nooo," Haruto said with a blunt voice. "It's the fucking tooth fairy."

She glared at him, but because of his rude comment she sat on a sharp rock, while moving backwards. "Ow!" She exclaimed in pain.

Then, Orochimaru turned his piercing cat eyes to her cell, grinning, and started to walk her way.

Her stomach churned in hear as she adverted her eyes to Haruto who was trying not to laugh.

She flipped him off and cupped her neck, where the mark was. It hurt more while he came towards her but tried not to show. But what the heck, it's better than getting bit by a snake again.

"Kagome, Kagome." He whispered. "How have you been doing?"

"Oh very good." She said enthusiastically.

Haruto snickered.

"Well, that's good." He said, obviously not catching the sarcasm.

Kagome felt like ripping her hair out.

"How's the curse mark?" He asked.

"It's fine. Now go away." She muttered, inching away from the snakes at his feet.

She squeaked as it slithered up her leg and tried not to shiver from disgust.

Kagome almost felt the fury radiating off from Haruto.

"But I can't let you out yet."

She grit her teeth from cursing the stupid man. "And why the hell not, you stupid bastard?"

Oops. Too late.

He didn't even notice as he ranted on about this experiment. "You're the main cause of this experiment." She caught an evil look in his eye.

She snarled. "Screw that. The experiment can fail, for all I care."

He frowned. "Kagome, don't talk to me like that."

"Or what?!" Her voice raising higher. "You are not Naraku. I have feared him in the past, but now, no more. I do not fear you."

He bristled in fury as his cat-slit eyes narrowed down at her. "Then perhaps, you are asking to go to the.." His frown, slowing turning into a sadistic smirk. ".. White Room?"

Her right hand unconsciously moved towards her back, painful images flashing into her mind. She felt Haruto's hand on her shoulder, squeezing it slightly.

Kagome clicked her tongue in annoyance, trying not to let her fear come through.

"Whatever." She muttered, as the snakes untangled themselves from her pitiful legs.

"That was what I thought." He glared down at her and briskly walk away.

She felt disgust, not at him, but herself. Surrendering herself to her enemy was one of Itachi's top 10 rules, not to do. Ever.

Kagome gulped down her fear. "That experiment on me.."

Orochimaru turned around to look at her and asked, "What about it?"

"What.. is it called?"

He grinned. "It's called.." He opened the door and closed it shut, but before he did, she heard with her demon-turning ears,

"Immortal."

Warning: Foul language ahead.

"THAT FUCKING BASTARD!" Sasuke punched the tree, and it fell.

Poor tree. It never even saw it coming.

"Well, someone had a shitty morning." Naruto commented, laying down on the green-lush grass.

"That motherfucker should come here and fight me like a man!"

"Dude." Naruto said. "I don't think he has a mom."

Sasuke blinked then sat down on the brown grass. "You're right!"

Naruto felt his jaw drop. "I always thought you were a girl in disguise.. but now I know for sure because of your pm-ing-"

"Naruto," Sasuke gritted his teeth, trying to refrain himself from shouting out vulgar language at the blond boy. "Shut the hell up."

Naruto gave him a fox-like grin.

A few moments passed until Naruto asked, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

Sasuke sat up and looked at him in the eyes. Naruto looked serious and he said, "Yes."

"Alright," Naruto grinned again. "Let's say it together."

'Why am I even friends with this idiot?'

"1"

"2"

"3!"

"Saving Kagome by ourselves." "RAMEN."

Sasuke groaned. 'Of course that idiot can't even think'.. he thought. He plopped down on the ground.

Naruto stared at him. "I was actually thinking about saving Kagome-"

"Saving Kagome, you say?"

The two boys looked up and saw Kakashi, reading.

"Damn it Naruto! You and your big ass mouth!"

"Shut up teme!"

"Now, now." Kakashi said.

They looked up at him again.

"Who wants to be chained?" The white-haired man said a little bit too cheerfully.

Naruto quickly stood up, followed by Sasuke.

"SHIT! RUN!"

4 months

One of the guards opened the door and threw a small body next to her cell.

"Oh by the gods.. Haruto.."

He crawled over to her and drew small circles on her back. "It's okay.. Everything's going to be okay."

"It's dead." She whimpered. "Because of me.."

Orochimaru came in the room the previous night, telling her the potion was finally done. Telling her to come out from her cell, so he can test her. She refused and he told her if she wouldn't participate, he will kill innocent people until she finally agrees. Leaving her a small button, telling her to press on it, if she was ready. She didn't actually think, that he would actually do it.. but now..

5 months

"Oh my god." Kagome tried not to throw up. "It's dead. It's actually dead."

'Press this button if you will come out, young priestess.'

She gulped and closed her eyes. Her fingers inching toward the small device. "I could do it." Her fingers froze. "I could goddamn do this!"

"Kagome!"

Someone tackled her to the ground and her vision filled up with black dots.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

Kagome groaned and tried to get up, but was held back by strong arms.

"I can't bear seeing you get dragged away!" Haruto yelled, tears on his face.

Kagoms sighed, as a fake smile appeared on her face. "Just for you.." She pulled his head into her chest. "Just for you.."

6 months

Another bloody figure was dragged beside her cell, and she looked away. She glanced at the boy next to her.

'I will press the button,' she thought, tonight.'

'But why? Why is there an illusion barrier around him?'

6 months was enough for Itachi to gather enough information.

Caturing and torturing the information out of Orochimaru's servants is not an easy thing to do. Especially if they are completely loyal to him.

One told him it was in the Moon Leaf forest. Another, the same.

'I will get there tomorrow afternoon.'

"I'm coming Kagome."

I'm coming Kagome..

She jerked up from her sleep.

"Whaa? Itachi?"

When no one replied, she told herself to calm down.

God knows why she had a sleeping pill in her pocket and glanced at the boy sleeping beside him.

She gulped. If she gave him this.. he will wake up next morning.

Good enough.

She slipped the pill in her mouth but not swallowing.

Kagome shook him awake. "Haruto?"

He immediately woke up. "What happened?"

Guilt weighed down at her, seeing his expression.

'Seduction is one of a kunochi's ways.'

She mentally rolled her eyes and took a deep breath. 'Mom. You're an idiot.'

She cursed herself for being so nervous.

"Kagome?"

She looked up at him shyly, forcing a blush on her cheeks. Thinking to herself how stupid this was, she leaned into his chest and murmured into his ear, "Haruto.."

She could see that he was getting slightly flustered. "A-Ah. Ka-Kagome?"

Nice and quick you stupid girl. Hurry up already!

She leaned forward and her guilt was weighed down further when he leaned down on her.

Alright. Let's do this.

She pressed her lips on his as he snaked his arms around her waist. Kagome pushed him down on the cold floor and as he gasped in surprise, she slipped the pill into his mouth.

"Wha.. What.." His eyes opened in horror. "No! Don't you dare.." The he slumped on her.

Kagome placed him down on the floor.

The last thing he saw before he blacked out was her small for saying,

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry.."

He was at the edge of the forest. He clenched his fist.

I feel her close by.. but yet she feels so far away..

He glanced around to see if anyone was looking, then walked in.

'To see illusions, you must tilt your head in all directions in the sunlight to see it.' His instructor had said to this when he was 8 years old.

But I killed him. He told himself.

He saw a glint then raced towards it.

Only thinking of a beautiful, passionate girl.

Kagome.

After he completely fell asleep, she pressed the button and he came in almost immediately.

He opened the door to her cell and dragged her out.

The poor girl's feet barely touched the floor as she looked back at Haruto's fading form.

Because of her lack of nutrition, everything was a blur to her. Just glimpses of torches hanging on the walls.

They went down many halls until they stopped at one room.

She was too tired to even complain and wonder what was going on but managed out, "What's going on?"

She felt him chuckle as he placed a glass of water in front of her. She grabbed it and drank.

Kagome sighed in relief as she was pushed down on the bed. Her senses, jolted awake when she was chained to the bed.

She let a smirk come through her lips. "Am I that dangerous?"

"Just to make sure you won't get crazy after you..." He held up a thin vial with green liquid. ".. drink this."

Fear gushed up to her chest as she reminded herself that she was doing this for her friend in her cell.

I could do this.

"Is this supposed to make me immortal?"

He used a device to bring the bed up, so that he wouldn't had to crouch over to place the vial on her lips.

Calm down Kagome. Calm down.

"Yes."

But even as she said that, her heart thumped painfully on her chest.

Orochimaru lowered the vial down the her lips, while pinching her nose.

Damn this stupid clever bastard.

"You could try escaping dear miko."

Her lungs were burning.

"But you would have to breathe soon."

Do not surrender. Do not surrender. Shit. Shit. I need to-!"

She opened her mouth in a sharp intake of breath to breathe, but cool liquid was forced down her throat.

Pain. Pain everywhere. Every muscle in her body felt like it was burning. She felt her hair grow longer, past her lower back.

My other self..

She felt her senses come sharper. Her vision, her hearing.

"What did you do to me?"

"I made you immortal of course."

"I will kill you." Kagome said, while glaring up at him. "And I will enjoy breaking your-"

She was cut off when there was a frantic knock on the door and was opened by a young man.

"Lord Orochimaru! Someone affiliated the base entrance! One of the Akatsuki, sir!" He yelled while bowing.

Kagome's eyes widened. "Itachi.."

Orochimaru's sighed in annoyance, while unchaining her.

Wrong move moron.

Kagome ran my in a blur, knocking down the servant boy to the ground.

"Someone catch her!" She heard him yell in the hallways. Kagome heard someone behind her and turned quickly. Her fist was fast, knocking the unconscious man to the ground.

"I'm finally free.."

With speed she had missed back in the Feudal Era, she ran to her cell as fast as she can.

Snatching her swords and placing it back to her sides. She sighed in content as she felt the familiar feeling on her legs.

"Kagome! You're alive! But why in the world do you look-"

She cut him off, telling him to step back. "We don't have much time. Orochimaru's guards could be running here right now."

He raised an eyebrow while stepping back a couple of steps. "You escaped? That's my girl."

She rolled her eyes while taking out Tessaiga. "Kuro-en."

Kagome slashed through the bars as they melted. "Hurry up idiot."

Haruto smiled as he stepped out. She grabbed him on the arm and dragged him to the nearest commotion.

"Uh.. Shouldn't we be going somewhere we won't be seen?"

"Shut up for a second."

They turned the corner and saw a man with black hair and a cloak with red clouds.

He finished off the last man, slicing the blade in the air, getting the blood off the sharp object.

Kagome froze.

It's him. It's actually him.

Itachi turned around and his heart nearly stopped at the sight of her. But her hair.. it was silver.

"Itachi.." He heard her whisper.

He heard a rustle behind him but he ignored it. Kagome. My Kagome is right here. Kagome-

"No! ITACHI!"

It was all ablur to him when she made a bow out of her reiki and shot it as quickly as she can, beside his right arm.

He turned around and saw a fading pink arrow sticking out a man's chest.

Itachi was horrified that he had almost died.

He turned back around and he was greeted by Kagome's bright smile.

"Alright, let's get out of here." She said, and walked towards a hall. Then she turned with a smile.

"Together."
