The Inquisitor

Chapter 14

Aftermath and "Counseling"

A/N: I thought it'd try and put the perspectives of other people other than the Justice League considering that they and Dante would have the same song and dance as the last couple of times they've had this kind of argument. Hopefully this will make things a little bit more interesting.

As for the Justice League, I don't' want to make them seem like complete idiots (maybe borderline idiots but not complete idiots). I always thought of them as people who were naïve in their beliefs and have been living in a world where their actions and the actions of those they fight are black and white and they are so set in their ideals that they can't see a greyer solution. Dante however lives in a very morally grey universe where every solution to a crisis will always be very controversial but effective.

Also if anyone has any ideas on how to improve this story please leave a review

-Unknown Location-

It was almost a cliché that high ranking members of secretive organizations kept themselves shrouded in darkness to conceal their true identities. Sometimes this was done to provide an air of menace or mystique to the organization to make it seem as sinister as its goals. Of course there were practical reasons that this was done other than to provide ambiance, the members of this particular organization refused to show their faces or even their outfits to anyone that did not have a necessary security clearance in their organization. This prevented the identities of those who ran the organization from becoming known to any groups that may prove hostile towards them.

In this case there was an empty meeting room save for several monitors that were hovering above a small table. Each monitor showed an individual whose features were kept hidden by static and shadow. The only thing that could distinguish them from one another were the letter: "L" and a number located at the bottom-right portion of each screen.

The only member that was not in attendance was L-7, something that was quickly picked up on by one of the other members "Before we begin might I inquire as to the whereabouts as to our missing associate, L-7? I thought that all of our colleagues needed to be present." said L-3. The response was quick and to the point "Our colleague L-7 is busy with his own project at the moment and regrets that he cannot be here himself at this time. He insisted we conduct our business without him for the time being."

At that point L-1 decided to get down to business "Now, it would appear as though we have a new situation developing in the North American Sector," stated the L-1 monitor, "The prison breaks caused by one of our fringe associates using some of our resources has almost every prison capable of holding Meta Humans on high alert, and security has tripled. With the recent capture of Ivo it will now be very…difficult to orchestrate his escape for the foreseeable future. This will put our plans back at least another two months."

One of the other monitors, this one known only as L-6 to outsiders spoke "I knew it was a mistake to associate ourselves with that imbecile Kingman, while the cash flow into our coffers from the American West Coast was most utile, his téméraire usage of our resources in his failed bid to eliminate a pathétique on a single hero has put our operations at greater risk. Now the Ligue de la Justice or at least Batman is beginning to suspect something larger at work."

The next to speak was L-4 "I agree with L-6, Kingman and his cronies are becoming more and more unpredictable and desperate to silence a single boy. At the rate things are going it is only a matter of time before him and his friends put our operations at risk. I recommend that we immediately cease all assistance financial or otherwise with Kingman and his business associates. I also suggest that we do it before or during his Auction. One of our other associates that was assigned to watch Kingman has reported that the Inquisitor plans to either eliminate or capture Kingman and all of his associates at the auction."

That wasn't very reassuring. While Kingman had a very limited knowledge of the Light and its activities he could provide bits and pieces to the Inquisitor and therefore the Justice League. While Kingman's knowledge would be small at best it would still be enough to make certain elements, namely Batman begin investigating. They didn't need the world's greatest detectives to so much as get a whiff of something in their direction

"I move that we cease all operations that involve assisting Kingman and his associates as well as have the man terminated as soon as possible," declared L-2.

A chorus of "Aye's" resounded with not a single person even attempting to dissuade the decision to assassinate one of their allies.

L-3's monitor glowed for a second as if to show satisfaction in the outcome "I suggest we leak a few pieces of information to a certain member of the Pentagon's ARGUS department about Kingman selling US government secrets at the Auction. She or the Inquisitor could take care of the man for us and if he is captured instead, we can use our own sleepers in either the Pentagon or elsewhere to eliminate him for us."

L-1 was about to continue L-3 spoke up again "Before we continue however I want to bring up something important. The Inquisitor, he is completely unlike any hero in the League or elsewhere in the world. He slaughtered several of our former puppets when we sent them to investigate the anomaly in Nevada. And then there was the hostage situation in Gotham he helped resolve shortly after. I believe that we should try to look into him again."

That was an old headache the individuals who were once a deniable assets to the Light had failed their mission. Afterwards they became desperate to remain useful and therefore alive, so they took hostages in an attempt to kill the one that had caused them to fail their mission. The Light was about to dispatch one of their other agents, possibly Sportsmaster or Deathstroke to eliminate them when the Inquisitor solved the problem for them.

L-8 who had been mostly silent decided to speak "L-3 raises an excellent point. From what we've been able to gather there is no information on the Inquisitor before the Nevada Anomaly it is likely that the Inquisitor was brought here by that anomaly either through time, space or even dimensions I believe that we should begin to try to gather what information we can on the boy. He is as you surface dwellers say, 'a wildcard.'"

There was silence for a moment before L-1 responded "Agreed, more information might be useful, L-3, see if you can gather more information on him if possible but have your sources be discreet."

There was a chuckle emanating from L-3's monitor "My friend, you wound me. Who do you think you're talking to?" he asked a hint of amusement in his voice.

"Now onto other matters, L-2, will the FOG be ready on time?" asked L-1. L-2's cloaked visage gave a slight nod "According to the Shadows, Roquette's creation should be ready on schedule."

-Gotham City, Arkham Asylum-

It had only been a couple of days since the initial breakout but the Joker had been thrown back into prison. Initially the Clown Prince of Crime had felt flattered that he had been amongst the first to be found by Batman since his escape. However his feeling of flattery had been quickly overridden with annoyance and burning irritation by the fact that the caped crusader had somehow managed to track him down before he had the opportunity to kill a few dozen people and paint a big smiley face on the side of a few buildings with their blood.

The Joker was preeeetty sure he hadn't done that one yet. And if he had done that one, then there was always one of the older classics. Maybe take a few hostages in a TV station, rig up a few explosives and then make some ridiculously impossible demands of the city and then paint a few smiles on their faces with some of his patented Joker Venom (he wasn't sure if it was patented but he'd get the lawyers in and make sure, whichever ones he hadn't killed yet that is).

For several hours the Joker had sat in his cell trying to figure out how the man in the bat suit had managed to catch up to him so quickly when the answer finally came to him when he overheard someone (possibly one of the voices in his head but that was unlikely) mentioning tracking devices that they had slipped into their food. That explained why his food tasted a little bit more off lately, he had just thought it was the new meds.

Well it looked like he would have to start throwing up his food after he ate it. If it worked for Lindsay Lohan it would work for him. Or at least it had worked for her until he beat her to death with the severed heads of the Jonas Brothers and that fat idiot who wrote those books about sparkling vampires. He really had to take a trip down to Hollywood with Harley one of these days, maybe kill a few members of the Kardashian clan and otherwise have a good time.

Voices (and not the kind that spoke to the Joker and all the other inmates of the asylum when they were alone) came from down the hall. From the sounds of it, it was two of the idiots that were instructed to guard the asylum. "Jesus Christ who the hell was this guy?" asked one of the guards whom the Joker made a note to carve a nice smile into his face when he got out next time.

Curious, the Joker slunk over to the edge of his cell and looked out the bullet proof glass, but couldn't see anything that would tell him what was going on. "This thing, was Victor Zsasz," One of the guards declared correcting the man's statement. Ooh now that was even more interesting but he needed to get a better look at what was going on. "THIS was Zsasz, okay now I really want to know. What in the hell happened to this thing?"

"Severe chemical burns and a broken neck. Freak won't be able to move anything below his head ever again. To be honest the docs say that it's a miracle that he's still alive but it seems that he'll live a long and miserable life." The way the guard spoke it sounded as though he was disappointed. Now that was rude, it seemed as though someone else needed a smile carving on their face as well.

"Wait, if he's paralyzed then why did we need to sedate him?" the other guard asked. There was a chuckle for a second "It's because whenever he's awake he keeps screaming, begging us to kill him because he can't make any more marks and that his other ones are all gone. Considering how many people he's killed, including a few of the guys I've worked with, I find that his misery is very therapeutic."

"So did Batman finally wise up and do this to him?" asked the guard. Now that got on Joker's nerves, if anyone was going to make Batman give harsh treatment to anyone then it would have to be the Joker and no one else.

The Joker was already thinking of doing something extra special for the Caped Crusader when he escaped when he heard the other guard answer the guy's question "Nah, apparently Zsasz tracked one of the people who managed to escape but before he could do anything he got the shit beaten out of him by the Inquisitor and well, this is the result."

It was then that the guards who were walking down the corridor finally came into view and Joker got a good look at the person that they were wheeling down the hallway on a gurney. At first Joker didn't recognize good 'ol Vic. In fact at first it seemed as though Two Face and Fire Fly decided to have one ugly kid together and then take a flame thrower to him (he'd have to remember that one). "Alright, now that's funny," said the Joker before looking down the hallway towards Two-Face's cell.

"Hey Denty, I think that Zsasz is committing copyright infringement, horrific disfiguring burns are your shtick aren't they? You may be able to get your copyright royalties! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" The only reply the Joker got from the former district attorney was a raspy "Screw you clown!"

The Joker laid back onto his cot and smiled to himself, maybe today wouldn't be as boring as he had thought. If he hadn't been captured by good ol Batsy then he wouldn't have gotten to see this little gem. Maybe he should send his best friend/arch nemesis a thank-you letter laced with anthrax some time.

-Seattle First General Hospital, Several days later-

Ever since the sole survivor of Zsasz's rampage had been taken to the hospital for treatment and psychiatric evaluation. At first the doctors and the police wanted to keep the location of the woman a secret so that there wouldn't be any interference in the woman's recovery. The reason for this was because they (rightfully) believed that a full blown media circus would only serve to quite possibly end up causing the woman even further stress which would only hamper her recovery.

Unfortunately someone had leaked the woman's location to the media and now there was a literal circus of reporters from various news outlets. From well-known faces such as G. Gordon Godfrey of GBS, to that of controversial blog reporter Jack Ryder. It had gotten to the point that not only was there a police cordon in place by the entrances to the hospital but there were even a pair of officers that were standing guard right outside of the woman's hospital room.

Inside the hospital room the woman was sitting up on her hospital bed, facing the one and perhaps only reporter that she had given permission to meet with her, a certain Pulitzer winning reporter for the Daily Planet and rumored girlfriend of the Man of Steel himself, Lois Lane. The reporter herself was unsure as to why the woman had allowed only her to be the one to interview her but she supposed it made no real difference. She was the one chosen to tell this young woman's story and that was all that really mattered.

When Lois entered the room she found the young woman sitting upright on the hospital bed looking almost expectantly at her. The woman had mid-length red hair that reached just past her shoulders and dark blue eyes. "Have a seat," The woman offered as she gestured towards a chair that was located near the hospital bed with her right hand. Lois obliged the woman and took a seat all the while she set down a small recorder on the small table between the woman and Lois.

After Lois hit the recording button on the device and spoke "So Ms. Cassidy-" Lois started but was cut off by the young redhead who simply put up a hand to stop the woman from talking "Please just call me Sarah," the redhead insisted. There was a moment of hesitation before Lois nodded.

"Alright, Sarah, I was wondering if you could tell the world as to what exactly happened to you. If it gets too painful for you, I'm more than willing to stop whenever you want." While Lois was willing to do a lot to get a story, she wasn't going to force a traumatized young woman to relive something that would cause her undue distress. Sarah understood but shook her head "You wouldn't be here if I wasn't willing to tell my story and I know that you won't spin it to suit your own political ideology like Godfrey would." Well Lois couldn't argue with that.

From there Sarah Cassidy began to recount what had happened "I used to work at Arkham Asylum as one of the orderlies for the patients. I helped the psychologists and other doctors with their patients, or at least until there was a riot and that disgusting monster decided that I would make a perfect new victim. I tried to hide but somehow Zsasz found me and probably would have killed me if Batman hadn't showed up and saved my life.

I honestly don't know how he knew where I was but to be honest I really don't care but afterwards after that, abomination kept screaming how he would 'liberate' me over and over. After that happened I resigned and moved here to Seattle. Everything seemed fine for a while at least. I got a new job working at a small time clinic in the inner city area that helps people who can't afford most medical facilities. It was nice, helping people and everyone who worked there were nothing but some of the most compassionate individuals I have ever had the fortune of meeting. Of course something like this just wouldn't last.

A few days earlier when I…when I was working I heard some kind of commotion out in the waiting room. I went to go check it out, to see if there were just a bunch of kids that were being rowdy, which happens on occasion. But it became obvious that this was something much worse. When I got there the whole area had been turned into a…" The woman trailed off and started shaking. Lois stopped recording and looked at the woman in concern.

"Look if you don't want to-" Lois started but Cassidy shook her head in defiance while tears began to form from the corners of her eyes.

"No, I made this decision and I'm not going to run away anymore. Like I was saying, the whole room was covered in blood, there were bodies of orderlies and people everywhere. By the front desk, Zsasz had just finished slitting the throat of Barney, he was one of the guys that worked at the front. When he was on break, the guy would always had this big dumb grin on his face. I thought the guy was a bit weird but now I'd give just about anything for any of my coworkers to be back. When I saw Zsasz slit his throat he turned and saw me and grinned. I didn't think, I just ran as fast as my legs could possibly carry me. It didn't matter where I went just so long as I was away from that…thing. I tried to hide in one of the offices and call the police but I wasn't able to do much before he found me and knocked me out."

Lois continued to listen as Sarah Cassidy recounted to the best of her ability what had happened at the chemical plant. The story that she told was exactly the same as the one she had to the Seattle police officers, the FBI as well as Gotham city's own police commissioner, James Gordon and the Caped Crusader himself.

Cassidy was almost at the end when Lois felt that things got really interesting. The redhead let out a humorless chuckle "It's funny really, when I first saw the guy I thought that an angel was being sent to my rescue, but he didn't offer the same kind of salvation I initially thought. He asked me if I was going to just keep running until I died or if I was going to stand my ground. He walked away to where Zsasz had managed to crawl out of the chemical vat and after a few seconds of waiting I followed him. While the monster was crying about how those disgusting tally marks had been burned away, the Inquisitor broke the man's spine. The monster can't move anything below the neck anymore."

A look of horror crossed Lois' face for a split-second. Sure she knew all about the Inquisitor's debut, how he had killed several terrorists that had taken most of Gotham Academy hostage but after that the Justice League seemed to have managed to reign the boy in a little at least. However shortly after the Inquisitor set himself up in Seattle rumors were circulating that the boy managed to circumvent the "no killing" rule the Justice League held by simply breaking the spines of some of those he had fought. While she was disturbed at the Inquisitor's methods she honestly couldn't really bring herself to feel any sympathy for Victor Zsasz.

Deciding to continue with the interview, Lois asked "What about the Inquisitor's actions towards you? There are those who have criticized his decision to seemingly force you into following him into confronting your abductor and would-be killer."

Sarah Cassidy's face took on one of annoyance, it was clear that she had to explain this next piece of information to a lot of people before "The Inquisitor didn't force me at all. He gave me a choice and I made the decision to follow him and confront my tormentor, this is something that people just don't understand, I chose to follow him and confront that monster no one forced me. I made a choice and I think that by confronting that monster, I think that I changed for the better."

Lois could at least somewhat understand what the woman was saying. She got herself into trouble while pursuing news stories a lot to the point where some of her coworkers had actually started to question whether or not she had some kind of death wish.

This was quite possibly really bad armchair psychology on her part but maybe the reason that she wasn't a complete wreck was because she wasn't going to let a few (read: uncountable) bad moments with some psychopaths break her. Sure she had been completely terrified out of her mind on several occasions to the point where she thought that she'd quit her job but she didn't want fear to completely dominate every aspect of her life. She'd rather stand up and keep doing her job as a reporter than let a few sociopathic freaks make her run away and hide.

"So back to Victor Zsasz, do you think that the Inquisitor's actions towards him were justified?" Lois asked, already knowing the answer. Cassidy looked directly at Lois with a harsh look in her eyes "Of course I do, that disgusting excuse for a human being has murdered almost five hundred people over the last four years, and he never showed any signs of remorse, no shame or pity in any of his actions. The only way that monster would ever stop killing people is if he either died or was rendered completely unable to harm people."

Sarah let out an angry scoff "Idiots like the Justice League think that if you just lock a criminal up in a cardboard box of a prison with more holes in it than Swiss cheese, that it will just up and magically reform them. Please tell me, are there any super criminals that the Justice League has fought that's actually decided to reform? Can you name even one?"

Lois didn't really respond to that one. It was true, despite the Justice League's noble intentions of never playing judge jury or executioner, there hadn't been a single criminal that was reformed. Despite the failure to actually reform some of these criminals it was certainly better than the alternative that the Justice League said it was trying to keep itself from becoming. Conducting an inquisition of sorts to kill or inhumanely punish anyone that steps out of line. It would turn the Justice League into a force like the KGB or the Gestapo.

"Well what do you think of the Inquisitor's actions against most criminals in Seattle? There has been talk in several media outlets that he's far too brutal to be considered a hero." If what the reports were saying were accurate, then Lois had to at least somewhat agree with them. To cripple someone so completely that they would never be able to do anything with their bodies was incredibly cruel, maybe even worse than death.

That question caused Cassidy to laugh humorlessly "Most people only look at the face value of something and never look any deeper, it's true that the Inquisitor has broken the spines of several criminals but they are just people whom he has managed to catch in the act of doing something truly reprehensible. He breaks the spines of rapists, serial killers, and pedophiles amongst other deserving individuals who will never even try to reform themselves. I doubt that many people are going to complain when they look deeper and find out that last bit."

Lois had already gotten a goldmine of a story from this woman but she decided to ask one last question "Could you answer just one last question? Do you think that the Inquisitor is the kind of hero that most people in Seattle really need right now?"

Sarah Cassidy looked at Lois dead in the eye with a humorless expression and said "He's the kind of person the world needs."

-Mt. Justice, Conference room-

It had been several days since Dante's handling of Victor Zsasz. After Batman and the others had found out about the injuries that he man had sustained as well as his actions with his hostage they were not very understanding to say the least. Initially they saw the treatment of Victor Zsasz as disturbing and once again there was an argument over his methods of crime fighting that eventually resulted in him having to take part in some strange form of interrogation that the League called: "Counseling".

All in all it was a very poor attempt at interrogation at best. In fact it was even worse than the first attempts that were made against him. There were no attempts at restraining him nor did they even take his weapons from him. In fact the only person that was going to be interrogating him was Black Canary whose methods were little more than attempting to act kind towards him so that he could open up. Such a tactic rarely if ever worked and only did if the subject was unfamiliar with the ways of interrogation.

Dante however was intimately familiar with all forms of interrogation, be it subtle or brutal. Their attempts to gain information from him would not work. By the Emperor Himself, even the room that Dante was in wasn't made for interrogations. There were a pair of relatively comfortable seats that were across from one another and a small coffee table situated between them. They were using this seemingly comfortable setting to get him to lower his guard, but he would do no such thing.

Immediately Dante started to take in his surroundings and began to look for the slightest hint of recording devices. Dante was no stranger to using recording devices in reconnaissance or spying in the homes on those who were under his suspicions. While the slightest suspicion was more than enough for an Inquisitor to detain someone and have them interrogated, Inquisitor Monroe wanted to make sure that he was on the right track before he conducted any true interrogations and also not alert any true heretics that the Inquisition may be onto them.

When Dante asked his mentor why what that was, Monroe stated that he refused to emulate of the more controversial Inquisitors out there, Inquisitor Fyodor Karamazov, whose methods were far more extreme than most zealous puritan Inquisitor. It was said that the man would have someone executed if they so much as looked at him the wrong way, and not just him but their family, friends and even their pet. Monroe stated that he would prefer to limit collateral damage if it was possible but was prepared to use whatever means necessary (save for using things like chaotic sorcery but that went without saying) if it was the best solution available.

As Dante's eyes continued to scan the room until at last he spotted what he thought was the lens of a small camera hidden just behind the opening of a ventilation shaft that was near one of the corners of the room. It was small but the position in which it was located would allow anyone watching the feed to see most of the room, although it was likely that it didn't have the capability to record sounds very well. There were more than likely hidden sound recording devices hidden around the room.

The Inquisitor was broken out of his thoughts when Black Canary started speaking "So D-" The mutant was unable to finish speaking the Inquisitor's first name "Do not use that name, mutant, I have not given you that right," he declared. While he was prideful enough that he didn't want a filthy mutant that had powers similar to the weaponry of a Noise Marine using his name but he couldn't risk any members of the Team who were most likely trying to listen in on the conversation finding out his birth name. Besides the irritation he had felt at the Justice League and its lackeys had been steadily building over the last few weeks.

In response Black Canary's eyes widened for a second at the hostility that the Inquisitor was showing. All she was trying to do was use his name. She and most of the League still didn't understand why he and the society he was from had such a xenophobia towards those that were different, be it aliens, meta-humans or magic users.

Black Canary nodded "Very well then…Inquisitor, I was hoping that you could explain a few things. From what I understand you've been rather…hostile towards your teammates. Why exactly do you think that is?"

Dante rolled his eyes behind his helmet which he had refused to remove. He was getting more and more irritated with these fools the more he had to interact with them. It was blatantly obvious that they were trying to turn him away from the Emperor's divine light since inducting him into this Team but he would never have it. Dante knew that questions the ones that Black Canary was asking now were probing ones, seemingly irrelevant questions that had seemed harmless enough to answer, at first glance. Based on the answers Black Canary would be able to gain insight more insight into the Inquisitor's thought processes and then figure out what questions to ask and how to ask them.

The Inquisitor's training told him that he must either stay silent or if he must speak, deflect as much as he could and keep the interrogator on the defensive. But for the moment he would try something a little bit different. It was possible that given that Batman was probably watching, then he would simply study the Inquisitor's body language and learn about him that way. No matter what the Inquisitor did, Batman would most likely learn more about him. Perhaps though he could make one of the Leaguers doubt their ways by offering some cold hard truth that they continued to ignore. It was unlikely that this would work but perhaps it would prove entertaining and he could gather some interesting psychological information into their tiny, weak-willed minds.

"You may be a mutant but you are not as unobservant or stupid as the ones I've been forced to deal with in the past. You've seen the way they act, they are incompetent, arrogant and they are incapable of learning from their mistakes. Most importantly though, when it comes to making difficult decisions, they fail. My case in point is during the previous mission; when Aqualad's position was being overrun by those machines, he should have detonated the explosives I planted. As a result of his hesitation the detonator was half melted by those things and the parts were reclaimed."

While Black Canary still was unable to seem to grasp that someone so young could be so ruthless she did seem to expect such a pragmatic answer and kept her surprise to a minimum. "So Aqualad should have detonated the explosives while Kid Flash was on top of the truck?" she asked "Didn't you hesitate to use the detonator and rescue Robin before using it?"

"The situation allowed me to make adjustments, unlike Aqualad we were not at risk of being completely overrun by hostile forces. Besides Robin is a far more useful than Kid Flash or that worthless xeno clone could ever be. He is much better disciplined, he is able to think first and act second –most of the time anyways- and is actually capable of understanding his place in the chain of command and what it means."

It was then that Black Canary decided on another question "Most of your teammates simply need time to-" she started but Dante just scoffed "Do you even listen to yourself?" Dante asked incredulous "The individuals on this 'team' have not been trained to work in or understand a true military command structure, which is what this team is. You don't simply drag a random person off the street, hand them a rifle and put them in a group of other likeminded individuals and throw them into the fray expecting them to pull together and make it out alive. No you use such untrained and undisciplined individuals not as elite soldiers or undercover operatives but as cannon fodder because that is all they are useful for. That way you make the enemy deplete their munitions on them so that the real soldiers will have an easier time eliminating the enemy."

Black Canary was inwardly horrified at such a brutal outlook but the Inquisitor didn't stop there "It is this lack of thought that the Justice League seems to share. For example, you think that locking a mass murdering mutant inside an easily escapable prison will magically make them want to reform but when they inevitably escape and cause more damage over and over again, you are in essence, inadvertently killing more people through your own inactions. Whether you choose to admit it or not, both my hands and the entirety of the Justice League's hands are drenched in blood. The only difference is that I am willing to accept that my hands are indeed covered in blood. You like to pretend that things are fine, but they aren't and more people will continue to die because of your inactions."

For a brief moment it did seem as though the Inquisitor had managed to at least partially get through to the mutant. It wasn't much but with some luck (and Emperor knew that it would take enough of it to fill a celestial body) perhaps it could cause division in the Justice League sometime in the future.

This possibility seemed at least partially dashed when rather than respond to this retort, Black Canary instead asked "Is that why you decided to break Zsasz's neck and give him severe chemical burns? Or did you want to give us a live example as to how there were worse things than death?"

In truth, both were explanations were part of the reason as to why Dante did what he did but mostly it was simply an effective way of disarming him and severely injuring him. Before the Inquisitor could explain this however, the door leading into the conference room opened and a certain Caped Crusader was standing there.

"I'm sorry to interrupt this but we have a situation that requires everyone's immediate attention."

To be continued.

A/N: yes I know I really should have ended it better but at that point I really didn't know how else to end it.
