A/N Heyy, not everything is as happy as it seems…
I'm Trying- 14
After the sonogram about 2 weeks ago, things started to go down here from there. Jason got back in touch with both Blaine and Ronnie so that means things needed to get done. The jobs Jason wanted them to do were pretty simple jobs like deliveries and pickups but they were very time consuming meaning he was hardly around for Kurt and his be-growing tummy.
As Kurt entered his third month, the morning sickness got worse for Kurt, so much so he couldn't even go to school some times and Aunt Sandra had to look after him. This wasn't a problem for Sandra as she could work from home so looking after Kurt was fine.
Kurt had finally told Rachel that he was having a baby since his bump was starting to get bigger so she probably would have noticed but she went totally crazy. She was in shock that he hadn't told her earlier on but was happy that he was happy.
Kurt was starting to get tired of the late nights from Blaine and so decided to confront him about it.

It was around 10 o'clock in the morning and Kurt was downstairs in the living room with Casey and Sandra dressed in his sweats and baggy t-shirt.
"How are you feeling?" Sandra asked.
"I've been better, tired of all this morning sickness," he sighed
"I know honey, but you have about 2 more weeks until you reach 4 months right? So it should stop or at least calm down by then," she said as she braided Casey's hair.
"Ow mommy! That hurt," Casey said
"Sorry baby," Sandra said as he pulled her hair into a pigtail
"Kurtie, are you okay? You look sad," Casey said as she was playing with her Barbie doll.
"I'm okay Case, just feeling a little bit sick," Kurt said with a small smile.
"You should ask mommy to make you some special milk. It makes me feel better when I'm sick," Casey said.
"Kurt's feeling a little be different from you pumpkin, so special milk isn't gonna work," Sandra said as she tied the ribbon at the end of her hair.
"Oh, hope you feel better Kurtie!" she said, "Are you finished mommy?"
"Yup, there you go princess. Go tell daddy that you're ready," Sandra said.
"Okay," she giggled before getting out and running out of the living room looking for her father. Sandra got up from where she was sitting and went to sit next to Kurt.
"You sure it's just the morning sickness bugging you?" Sandra asked
"No, it's Blaine. I just hardly ever see him anymore and I know I'm not over reacting because the last time I saw him properly was on Monday at school. I'm living in his house and I don't even get to see him," Kurt sighed
"Ah, I get it. It must be hard at a time like this for him to just out and do whatever he's doing," Sandra sighed.
"Can I ask you a question? And tell me if I'm being totally ridiculous but do you think he could be cheating on me because I'm starting to get fat?" Kurt asked with a small bite of his lip
"What? Kurt of course not, don't be so silly. You're not even that big for 3 months almost 4," Sandra said as she put a hand on Kurt's shoulder.
"It's just that he hasn't been home on the weekend twice now and whenever he does show up he's either hung-over or high as a kite," Kurt said as he felt tears starting to well up in his eyes.
"I'm gonna have a word with him. I already said I don't want him to have anything to do with that stuff." Sandra said, slightly angry.
"Okay, thanks. I'm just gonna go upstairs and wait for him there. I feel like I'm going to be sick again," Kurt sighed as he hugged Sandra and made his was upstairs.
"I'm going grocery shopping, do you want anything?" Sandra asked as she stood up
"Nope I'm good thanks. I'll watch the house whilst you're out," Kurt smiled from the stairs.
"Thanks honey, I won't be long. Call if you change your mind," Sandra smiled back.
"I will do," Kurt said as he jogged up the stairs and went into his room. Sandra got all of her stuff and left to go grocery shopping. Kurt flopped on to the bed and grabbed his phone, still no new messages or calls.
Kurt was frustrated at how Blaine was just leaving him like this. At least if Blaine said he didn't want to be with Kurt then fair enough but he didn't know what his problem was but he had enough. He was going to have a nap and hopefully when he woke up Blaine would be here.

Blaine and Ronnie had returned at about 4 in the evening, coming down from an obvious high. Kurt was awake at this point, eating some ice creaming and watching TV in the bedroom. Sandra was in her studio somewhere and Casey and Brian were still out.
Both boys made their way upstairs to their bedroom, still a little out of it.
"Whoa! Hey Kurt," Ronnie said as he walked in to the bedroom. Kurt looked at the door and rolled his eyes at the state both of them where in, ignoring them both.
"Sup baby," Blaine grinned as he walked in and made his way over to Kurt to give him a hug and a kiss.
"You smell Blaine, what the fuck," Kurt said angrily as he moved Blaine away from him.
"What? I was just having some fun with the guys," Blaine said as he laughed and so did Ronnie.
"So much fun you couldn't even call me?" Kurt said, getting agitated.
"Sorry baby! My phone died," Blaine laughed as he lay down next to Kurt on the bed.
"I'm tired of your bullshit excuses Blaine. We're having a child together and you're still going out and getting high," He said angrily again before sitting up.
"I'm gonna go eat, the munchies are calling me," Ronnie said quickly before leaving the bedroom.
"Babe, calm down. I'm fine aren't I?" Blaine asked, finally coming back to Earth.
"How am I to know that when you don't call?" Kurt said as he got out of his seat in an angry rage. "I'm carrying a baby for heaven's sake but I can't seem to look after myself because I keep worrying about your stupid ass."
"You seriously gotta calm down babe," Blaine said as he crossed his arms.
"I can't fucking calm down Blaine! You're driving me crazy, just disappearing after school and not coming home on the weekends, what am I supposed to think huh?" Kurt said as he paced up and down.
"I'm sorry baby, don't get upset. I don't like seeing you upset," Blaine said as he saw the tears filling up Kurt's once bright blue eyes.
"What do you expect from me Blaine? I-it's like you're trying to get away from me because I'm getting fat now. I-Is that why you and Ronnie just leave like that because you don't wanna see me?" Kurt blabbered as he started crying.
"No, no. That is not the reason Kurt, stop that right now. You know I love your bump," Blaine said as he put his hand out for Kurt to take.
"So why do you leave then Blaine?! What's the reason!" Kurt sobbed as he wiped his eyes.
Blaine had to think quickly on his feet. No way was he telling Kurt that had he had been delivering and picking up thousands and thousands of dollars' worth of illegal class A drugs.
"W-we've just been having time to ourselves. I've been stressing out about you and Ronnie's been looking after me," Blaine quickly said. It's not as if it was a complete lie, he had started stressing out and did the drugs and alcohol but the real reason was because Jason was always taking them out to parties for the drug deals to go down and they ended up having a little fun themselves.
"So you think doing drugs and drinking is going to help? If you're stressing out then tell me okay? I'd prefer you telling me rather than you coming home stoned as fuck," Kurt sighed.
Blaine sighed too and nodded, "I will, I'm sorry I've been stressing you out. I hear that's not good for the little one."
"It's not, but I'm sorry I just care about you and not knowing where you are or where you go causes me to worry," Kurt said as he finally took a seat on the bed next to Blaine.
"I promise I'll cut back. I don't want anything happening to you or the baby," Blaine said as he leaned in for a kiss but Kurt stopped him.
"Cut back? I don't think so, you're stopping completely. I don't want that stuff near me or the baby, it's damaging for the both of us and I'm not risking it," Kurt said firmly, crossing his arms over his chest.
Blaine knew better than to argue with Kurt and so nodded. "Okay, I promise I'll stop and I'll tell Ronnie to stop too."
"Thank you but Ronnie doesn't have to stop. He's not having a baby," Kurt said.
"But how am I supposed to resist if he's gonna be doing it and I'm not," Blaine moaned.
"Don't know, don't care but you're stopping," Kurt said as he laid back against the pillows.
"Fine." Blaine said slightly pissed off but laid back next to Kurt.
"Promise me Blaine," Kurt said as he looked over at Blaine.
"I promise," Blaine said as he raised his pinky, connected it to Kurt's and kissed them. This promise could not be broken.

2 more weeks later, that promise was broken. Jason had ordered some more drugs in from the South of America so they needed to be picked up from different spots causing Ronnie and Blaine to be out late once more.
A month later, meaning he was 4 months pregnant and Kurt had, had enough already. He thought he really got through to Blaine when he told him he wanted him home and not smoking or drinking anymore but it seemed to go through one ear and out the other.
Kurt was due to have a Sonogram soon and this was an important one because they finally got to find out the sex of their baby but Blaine seemed to have forgotten that since Kurt was driving himself to the hospital.
He'd called Carole and asked her to come with him instead since he didn't want to be alone when finding out what he was having.
Kurt arrived to the hospital and made his way straight to the maternity ward and sat in the waiting room as he waited for Carole. It was earlyish around mid-day on a Saturday morning so not many women or men were there so Kurt should be seen soon.
He took his phone out to see if there had been any more calls or texts from Blaine but there was nothing. He shoved his phone back in his pocket and waited for Carole.
A few minutes later Carole came in and spotted Kurt immediately. "Hey hun," she greeted.
"Hey Carole, how have you been?" Kurt asked as he pulled her in for a hug. One thing he hated about moving out was that he missed Carole and Burt's hugs.
"I've been good, missing you of course but I've been good," she smiled before sitting next to Kurt.
"You saw me a few days ago," Kurt chuckled.
"I know I know but it's just not the same but enough about that, how have you been love?" Carole smiled.
Kurt sighed because to say he was good would be a total lie, "I'm stressed out Carole, not even like a little bit but a lot. My morning sickness should have let up a little but it hasn't at all. I don't really eat much because I'm spending too much of my time worrying about Blaine and I'm starting to lose a lot of weight"
"Oh dear, now is not the time to be stressed love. Why are you stressing about Blaine?" she asked.
"He just goes AWOL on me. I won't see him for like two days at a time and he doesn't answer my calls or texts and when I confront him about it he just says his phone died oh and not to mention when he returns he's usually high or hung-over," Kurt sighed.
"Well then," Carole said, making a face at Blaine as if he were here.
"I know. But I love Blaine I really do but I just wished he wasn't such an idiot," Kurt sighed as he rested his hand on his belly. "It's like he doesn't care, I'm here finding out what the sex of our baby is but where is he? Off getting high and drunk."
"Don't worry about him Kurt, you have bigger things to worry about. You can't skip out on meals just because Blaine wants to be an irresponsible adult," Carole said as she rested one hand on Kurt's stomach.
"Lovely bump," she smiled as she rubbed his belly.
"Thank you, just wish it didn't have to come at the expensive of my amazing figure," Kurt chuckled. Although Kurt had lost some weight he was still big but maybe not as big as he should be at 4 months.
At that moment, Dr Chang came out of her office. "Kurt, we're ready to see you now," she smiled. Kurt looked at Carole with a bright smile and they both got up and made their way into the office.
"Hey Kurt, nice to see you again," Dr Chang smiled
"And you," Kurt smiled as he sat up on the stretcher.
"So where's daddy number two today?" she asked as she got all the equipment ready.
"Don't even start with him," Kurt said as he rolled his eyes. Carole and Dr Chang laughed at Kurt's response before she got cracking on.
"This appointment is important for you Kurt, you get to find out the sex of your baby," she grinned as she squirted on the gel.
"Well will that not be cold," Kurt chuckled as he looked at the screen waiting to see his baby.
"You should be used to by now," Carole smiled as she looked at the screen too waiting to see her grandbaby for the first time in person.
"No one will be used to it," Dr Chang laughed as she got the transducer and started spreading the gel out as she got the image on the screen.
Carole gasped out loud when she saw the image and held Kurt's hand tight. Kurt smiled brightly up at the screen as he bit his lip.
"C-can I know what I'm having," he asked nervously although he still knew in his heart he was having a boy.
"Of course, let me see if they went to be seen today," Dr Chang said as she moved the wand around a little more before finding the perfect position.
"Congratulations Kurt, looks like you're having a baby boy," she smiled as she pointed to where she could tell it was a boy.
"Looks like you were right Kurt," Carole smiled as she rubbed his knuckles.
"W-wow, a boy Carole, I can't believe it!" Kurt squealed.
"Looks like he knows we're here, he's waving at us," Dr Chang laughed as she pointed to the tiny hand that looked like it was waving.
"Hey baby, daddy's here. We'll see you soon in a couple of months okay? Just hang in there," Kurt laughed as he looked down at his tummy.
"He can probably hear what you're saying now. Talking usually calms them down," Dr Chang said as she wiped of Kurt's belly for him.
"Really?" Kurt asked as he sat up once all the gel was gone.
"Yup, so keep that up," she smiled "but I do have a few concerns Kurt. Have you been eating?" she asked.
"Um yeah but n-not a lot, I've had a lot of things on my mind at the moment so I guess I forget to eat," Kurt admitted.
"You can't afford that to happen to Kurt. From that ultrasound, your little boy looks underweight. I know it's not the most accurate of guesses but from what I just saw he isn't as big as I'd like him to be at this stage," Dr Chang said.
"Is he okay?!" Kurt asked suddenly panicked.
"He's fine, just about but he won't last until next month if you keep eating the way you have been," she said.
"Oh my God, what have I been doing," Kurt said as he put a hand on your forehead.
"Don't blame yourself, this is a stressful time," Dr Chang sighed, "All you have to do is start eating again, it's not that hard." Kurt nodded and ran a hand through his hair.
"How about I let you go and get some rest?" Dr Chang asked.
"That would be good, kinda tired," Kurt yawned.
"Okay, well I'll give you some more vitamins then you'll be on your way," she said as she quickly scribbled down the prescription.
Kurt took the prescription along with the ultrasound photos and got off the stretcher before saying thank you to Dr Chang and left with Carole.
Kurt knew he had been stressed but not so stressed he was hurting his baby. He definitely needed some more words with Blaine.
Klaine
Carole had dropped Kurt back at Aunt Sandra's house and surprisingly Blaine was home and non-stoned or hung-over. No one else was home so he just went straight upstairs
"Oh you're alive, how nice," Kurt said as he slammed the bedroom door shut and put his satchel down.
"Hey babe, you okay? Where you been?" Blaine asked as he sat up from watching TV.
"What do you mean where have I been? I've been at the fucking hospital getting an ultrasound you fucking dick," Kurt shouted as he started to change his clothes.
"Fuck, did I miss that?" Blaine said as he ran a hand down his face.
"Yes you fucking missed it. Oh we're having a son by the way," he said as he got the ultrasound photos out and slammed them on the bed side table.
"That's great," Blaine smiled even though now was not the time to be smiling.
"No it's not. I've been starving our baby because I've been worried about your stupid ass for the past month I haven't been eating properly which is hurting him," Kurt said as he started shouting louder.
"Are you serious? I've been doing this to you?" Blaine asked as his smile was totally wiped from his face.
"Yes you have but you don't fucking listen Blaine! I've told you time and time again that you disappearing is worrying the shit out of me but what do you do? You go do it again and I'm tired of it," Kurt said, putting his hand on his hips.
"What do you mean you're tired of it?" Blaine asked nervously.
"I'm done Blaine. I'm done sitting up waiting for you every night and being disappointed every morning when you're not there, I'm done with waiting for you to come back to Earth after being high I'm just done," Kurt sighed.
"N-no, you can't be done with me. W-we're having a baby," Blaine said as he felt tears stinging his eyes.
"No I'm having the baby. You're off doing what the fuck you like and I'm done," Kurt said as he went into the closet for a suitcase.
"Where are you going?" Blaine asked as he got up and went over to Kurt.
"I'm going back home. I was stupid to think you were willing to change just because we were having a baby," Kurt said as he started putting his things into the case.
"Don't say that Kurt… I'll change. I promise, please don't go," Blaine begged as he started taking clothes out of the suitcase.
"No. I've given you a chance, you promised me last time but you broke it. I can't keep up with this relationship anymore its killing our baby," Kurt said as he continued packing.
"I'm not letting you go. You're not leaving with my baby," he said as he continued unpacking Kurt's stuff.
"Blaine stop it and let me-," Kurt started off saying as he put more clothes in but stopped when he felt a sharp pain in his stomach. Blaine saw Kurt pause and watched him carefully.
"Kurt, are you okay?" Blaine asked
"N-no," Kurt whispered as he held his stomach and fell to the floor in pain. Blaine ran over to Kurt on the floor and took his hand.
"W-what's happening?" Blaine asked.
"I-I don't know. T-there's just a sharp pain in my stomach," Kurt moaned as he felt the pain continue before he looked down and saw there was blood on his sweatpants.
"B-Blaine, you need to take me to the hospital. I-I'm bleeding," Kurt said before his eyes slowly drifted closed.
