Chapter 13: The Start of the Beginning.

There was a small sounding explosion from the back of the building which had everyone on guard. This was followed by screaming and an exclamation of "Run Gazzy!" which was followed by "Max's gonna kill us!"

The sound of thundering footsteps could be heard as three figures ran through the Terminal City Head Quarters. The first two figures were male. The one in front was a blonde haired, blue eyed boy leading the strawberry haired, blue eyed teen by the hand as they ran between people and furniture. The reason for them running was the third figure. This one was an enraged teenage girl with dirty-blonde hair.

"Iggy! Gazzy! Get back here!" The female teen screeched. This caused Gazzy to tug on Iggy's hand as they both screamed and picked up the pace in order to escape the wrath of an angry Max. "I'm gonna kill you guys!" She yelled after them.

"Why would we stop after that!?" Iggy cried out in reply as Gazzy continued to scream and guide Iggy along.

The noise calmed down with Max's exclamation of "How dare you use my stuff for your stupid bombs! When I get my hands on you…!" fading into the distance as they ran out the front doors and away, leaving all of the other occupants of the room to stare after them in astonishment.

"They're … Lively, aren't they?" the older Max asked the room as a whole. There were murmurs of agreement followed by a dark figure rising from their leaning place on the wall. Fang headed for the door, intent on finding the trio and stopping Max from murdering their brothers.

Nudge and Angel had been outside the front doors of the Head Quarters when Iggy led by Gazzy had come racing through the doors screaming about a painful death followed by Max. They remained where they were, trying to decide if it was worth chasing after them, or if Max would just punch them and leave. Their decision was made when Fang, who was much better at reading Max's moods than anyone else, also exited the doors and began to jog after the disappearing trio.

As the three who were not at fear of Max's wrath raced after the others, they could hear the faint sound of laughter from in front of them.

"Uh oh. That can't be good." Angel said as they rounded the corner to see Max standing above two fallen figures.

Fang grabbed Max from behind. As she began to struggle, Fang held her under her arms keeping his hands on either side of her head, preventing them from being of use, and placed a leg between hers, immobilising her.

Max panted heavily as she began to calm down and her vision went back to normal from its red haze.

Fang released Max once she had slumped against him. As he pulled away, Max turned to face Fang and watched him silently. Fang stared back impassively.

A sudden flurry of activity from the direction of the gate caused them to break eye contact and look towards the new comers. Alec was being held up by CeCe and was holding his bleeding side.

"Oh my God!" Max exclaimed, wide eyed as she raced to Alec's side and helped to support him despite his protests. "Fang!" She called to her second. "Get the Doc! Hurry!"

Fang gave a slight nod before taking flight and racing towards headquarters and diving through the door before rolling forwards and calling for doctor.

CeCe, Max and Alec hurried towards the building as quick as they could, everyone else was following behind and worrying about the trouble had gotten into this time around.

The Other Max came racing towards them after she heard that Alec was hurt from Fang. The doctor and Fang were right behind her as she raced up to Alec and took over support from CeCe knowing the younger Max wouldn't leave her 'older brother' as easily. They all followed as the doctor led them towards the area which had been dedicated to the injured, their own mini hospital.

A group of very attractive men and women were in the woods outside of Seattle. They were all surrounding a bulking looking man who was covered in scars and had some sort of metallic plate on the back of his neck. He was pacing back and forth in angered agitation. Every now and then, a growl could be heard from his lips. The others stood by and watched as their Boss thought.

Barely noticeable, he spun around and grabbed the closest person to him. A female with long and wavy red hair. As he went to snap her neck in agitation, he paused. The female struggled for air in his grasp, scratching at his hands as those around them watched with disinterest.

The bulky man smirk darkly, causing the red heads eyes to widen in fear before she was suddenly released. She collapsed to the floor gasping for breath before she was roughly kicked in the stomach, causing her to double over and gasp in pain and have even more trouble getting air into her starved lungs.

Max hates red heads. The bulky man thought to himself. But Fang seems to love them.

"You!" He snarled at the attractive red head panting on the ground. He grabbed her hair and yanked her up, a cry of anguish and pain escaped her lips as a result. "Shut up!" He snapped. "I've got a job for you." He smirked darkly again.

At the back of his head, a small pathetic voice cried out at the injustice. Cried out for help. Begging for his big sister to save him. Don't let her hurt my sister. She's our sister! You can't hurt her! The voice was ignored like every other time it tried to reason with this beast of a man. It did not go unnoticed by the man, however, that the pathetic voice seemed stronger in its convictions when concerning the bird freaks.

"Did you say wolf-men!?" Max exclaimed after Alec's and CeCe's explanations of what happened. Every other member of the Flock froze as Angel whispered.

"Is it Erasers?" And Alec's eyes widened in realisation before darting his eyes to Max's confused and enraged ones.
