This was supposed to be a very serious chapter but I realized that it was pretty short so I added a fluff moment at the end. This chapter was greatly inspired by two doujins. "Attack on Heichou-sensei" and "Gaiden Kuinaki Sentaku.", you MUST read the first one. It's absolutely the cutest doujin I've ever read in my life. I died of moeness from it. /

"Rivaille, I don't think I can run anymore."

"I'm not going to let you die here Lorenzo. You'd have to answer to Alice if you did."

"I'm sorry for dragging you into this."

"If you're really sorry then run."

A few gun shots were heard not too far away.

"They're getting closer, just leave me here and go."

"Who do you think has to drag your dead body out of here? We're getting out of this together."

"But what do we do?"

"We got what we need. So, let's put it to use."

Rivaille sets down the large briefcase on the ground and opened it. Inside there were multiple parts, they looked rather complicated.

"Do you even know how to fix it together?"

"No."

"What? You don't even know how to assemble it much less use it."

"Stop whining and help me."

"Alright. Let's see, I think this part goes here. Here strap this on yourself."

After a lot of trails and errors, they've finally got it together.

"Does it fit?" Lorenzo asks.

"More or less."

"You can adjust it."

"We don't have time for that."

"It looks good on you."

"It doesn't matter, what matters is that we get this piece of metal working. Go put the other one on, I'll try to figure this thing out."

Rivaille pressed a trigger which allowed a hook to shoot out attaching itself to a wall, pressing the other one, a smoke of gas came out from the back.

"I think I got the hang of things, what about you?" Rivaille asked.

"I'll have to wing it but I'll survive."

"Be careful they have guns."

"Got it. I think they'll be in for a surprise, they won't expect us to go running after them. This time the hunted will be hunters."

"Let's go."

With a push of a trigger they went zipping up, with the darkness as their cover they flew around invisibly. With nothing but dim street lights around, it was hard to see anything.

"Where did those kids go? They have some guts stealing from us."

"W-what's that?" A man shouted as he pointed to the ceiling.

"They're flying!" Another shouted.

Lorenzo came swopping down and knocked one of them out in the process, the other guy took out his gun and aimed it at the auburn, but before he could pull the trigger Rivaille kicked it out from his hands. Without time for him even to react, Rivaille kicked him and made him lose consciousness. There weren't that many of them, so the two of them cleaned them up with ease.

"Well that wasn't so hard." Lorenzo said.

"Says the person who was crying just a while ago."

"I wasn't crying!"

Sensing a presence, Rivaille took out his gun that he kept underneath his jacket and pointed it to a dark corner.

"I know you're there, how about you stop hiding and come out where we can see you."

"As expected you're good." A manly voice answered back.

"Shut the hell up and start walking."

A pair of boots clicked as they came to contact with the hard concrete floor. Slowly, a figure became visible, he came underneath a street lamp. He was a relatively tall man, with blonde hair and wore a suit.

"Now give me a reason as to why I should let you live?

"I heard that they were shipping off some important equipment to the black market, I only came here to investigate this matter and it seems that the rumors were true, seeing as you two are wearing them. Where did you boys get them?"

"I ask the questions here." Rivaille said in a threatening voice.

"I've taken an interest in the two of you. You're pretty well known here, I was also quite amazed at both of your skills. You were able to use the 3D Maneuver Gear pretty decently for someone who hasn't gone through training. I'd say that you're both very talented."

"I'm sorry but flattery will get you nowhere." Rivaille said. "Stop talking about these useless things."

"In that case, I'll get straight to the point. I want to recruit the two of you to become part of the Recon corps."

"Huh?" Lorenzo was shocked. Had he heard him right?

"Is this some kind of joke? Because if it is, it isn't funny." Rivaille asked.

"Captain Erwin!" A soldier shouted.

"Tch, back up." Rivaille clicked his tongue.

"Rivaille, we're surrounded." Lorenzo said.

The three of them were surrounded by a few men in military outfit, all of them pointing guns to the two thugs. It was like a staring competition, a tense atmosphere filled the air in a suffocating manner.

"Captain, your orders?" (I'd like to have large fries and a milkshake, LOL.)

"Men, stand down."

"What? Captain you can't be serious. These thugs have stolen our equipment."

"I said, guns down."

Reluctantly, they did.

"Whatever, this was getting boring anyways." Rivaille said.

Sensing no threat from him, Rivaille tucked his gun back into his pants, the blonde man walked up to him.

"So how about it? Do you accept my offer?"

"Erwin was it? I don't know what game you're playing at but I'm not interested in taking part of it." Rivaille said.

"Just to let you know, I'm completely serious about my offer. I'm not trying to pull anyone's leg, you two have a chance to change your ways, it's not too late. Offers like this are once in a lifetime, please think about it thoroughly. The equipment you're wearing, think of them as a gift but I'll need to take the rest back." He gave the two teenager's shoulders a pat and walked passed them.

"Captain, you can't be serious. You're not really letting them go with our weapons."

"Rest assure, I know what I'm doing."

"Well that was weird." Lorenzo said.

"More like a complete waste of my time."

"But it turned out well, and we got to keep these. They're pretty neat, huh? It was fun, I wonder if that's what it feels like to fly."

"Nonsense."

"You know, I've been thinking about what he said."

"Don't tell me that you're thinking about accepting his offer?"

"Of course not. I need to clear the debt before i decide about anything else. It just reminded me about something my sister said."

"What did you say?"

"I just told you, your debt has been paid off."

"How?!"

"I don't know, some guy handed me an envelope with money and left."

"It was him." Rivaille muttered.

"Captain Erwin… erm… you have visitors…" A man dressed in a Recon uniform came in the room, his face looked somewhat worried.

"They came here earlier than I expected." Erwin muttered. "Send them in."

The door slammed open with a loud bang, a raven haired boy came in, his face had a furious expression plastered on it. An auburn followed him in, he bowed as an apology to the soldier for his friend's rude behavior and ran after the ravenette.

"What is the meaning of this?" Rivaille said as he walked up to Erwin's desk.

"Would you like coffee or tea?" (I wanted to add 'or me') Erwin asked as he picked up a teacup from the tray.

"You're persistent aren't you? Do you enjoy meddling with people's affair?"

"I was only aiding a young man with financial problems."

"No one asked you for your help."

"Of course, I did it on my own free will."

"What's your motive? Are you trying to bust us?"

"I told you before haven't I? I want to recruit you two."

"What do you gain from it?"

"I'll gain two valuable soldiers."

"What makes you think that?"

"Well." He motioned them to take a seat and they did. "I guess you could say that it's intuition."

"Huh? What kind of crap are you spouting?"

"It's not nonsense, it's actually quite logical. I can see the potential in both of you. You two are already strong as you are, if you both undergo proper training I think you two could be heroes for humanity."

"I'm not going to sit here and listen to all of this, I'm leaving. Let's go Lorenzo." Rivaille said as he got up from his chair. "Lorenzo?" He said as he noticed that his taller friend was not following him. Instead he sat there without uttering a word. "Lorenzo, let's go."

"I've been thinking about what you said."

"I'm glad you reconsidered." Erwin said.

"Lorenzo, you've got to be kidding me." Rivaille growled.

"My sister told me to live for myself, and now that I think about it. I haven't done that at all, how am I suppose to face her?"

"And you think risking your life is a good way to live it?" Rivaille asked.

"I don't know. I've always wanted to see the world and I rather die seeing it once than to live a long life in these walls. Besides, dying for the sake of humanity sounds pretty heroic doesn't it?"

"So have you come to a conclusion?" Erwin asked.

"Yeah, my answer is…"

"A hero?" Alice asked.

"Yeah, Onii-chan is going to be a hero." Lorenzo answered.

"Really? That's cool!"

"I'm glad you think so cause Rivaille and I are going to be part of the Recon corps starting next week."

"Eh? You're going to join the army?"

"Yup. We're going to fight Titans and help humanity. Heroic isn't it?"

"You can't!"

"Why not?"

"It's dangerous. I don't want anything bad to happen to you two."

"We'll be fine, right Rivaille?"

"I know I'll be but I'm not so sure about you." Rivaille said.

"Hey don't jinx things! But I was really surprised that you joined too, you were so against the idea."

"Who else is going to keep you out of trouble? If I'm not there you'd probably get eaten by a titan within 5 minutes."

"You see? We'll be fine." Lorenzo turned to Alice.

"But but… I don't want to lose my family anymore."

Lorenzo expression softened.

"You won't. Rivaille and I will always be here for you because there's no way I can leave my little sister alone, and besides we're a family, aren't we?"

"Yeah!" Alice answered.

"Don't group me with the two of you. I'm not interested in your pretend family." Rivaille scoffed.

"How can you say that? We're a real family!" Alice protested.

"No we're not." Rivaille said.

"We're not related by blood but our bond is as close of a family." Lorenzo said.

"It's still considered make believe and I'm not interested in being a pretend family."

"Then, we can be a real family right?" Alice said.

"Huh?" Rivaille had a confused expression on his face.

"We'll get married then we'll be a real family."

"Alice, are you proposing?" Lorenzo asked, he had a shocked expression.

"I'm not interested in little girls."

"But I love Rivaille, and I also love Lorenzo-nii." (OMG Alice, you're two timing. No, wait. There's Eren so you're three timing?! Alice you player! And at such a young age, I'm so disappointed. -cries-)

"There's a difference between your love and real love."

"Are you saying that my love is fake?"

"Alright then prove that it's real. What do you like about me?"

"You're nice and cool. You're also tall."

"Is that all?"

"You're also pretty!"

"You don't normally use pretty to compliment a guy. There's something wrong with your eyes."

"There's nothing wrong with my eyes, I can see perfectly fine!"

"And what makes you think that I'll like a brat like you."

"I'll be a good wife! I'll learn to cook and clean, I'll be the best wife ever!"

"You'll think differently when you grow up."

"No, I'll prove it to you. I'm a very earnest person!"

"Alright then, if you can say the same thing in ten years I'll think about it."

"Does that mean that you accept my proposal?"

"Why did you have to tell her such weird things?" Lorenzo asked.

"She's not serious."

"She's not but she desperately wants you to acknowledge the fact that we're a family. She went as far as to propose to you."

"I don't like giving people false hope alright?"

"And you don't think what you said will give her false hope?"

"Like I said, her feelings are going to change. And besides, I don't have feelings for her, and she doesn't have feelings like that for me either."

"She looks up to you, but you'll never know Rivaille. In a few years, she's going to be a young adult, you might develop some feelings for her."

"Nonsense. She's just a kid."

I added a lot of useless comments in the story but I'm sorry I couldn't resist adding comments. TT^TT
