Chapter 13: What are we?

Ally woke up to the sound of knocking on the door.

"Ally, you awake?" Austin asked. She looked around the room and realized she was at Austin's house. She got up from the bed and looked into the mirror, her makeup was fading. "Hey Austin, Ally said still looking into the mirror, "does your mom have any makeup I can borrow?"

"Uh yeah I think so…I'll go get it." Austin said. A few moments later, she heard Austin outside her door again,

"Here Ally."

She opened the door and grabbed the makeup bag, quickly shutting the door before Austin could see her scars.

"Thanks Austin I'll be out in a sec."

Ally just unzipped the bag before she heard Austin whisper something on the other side of the door which made her heart pound.

"You know Ally…you don't need makeup…your beautiful." A few seconds later she heard footsteps walk away.

She looked at the closed-door and sighed, that's not what I use the makeup for Austin.

Ally walked beside Austin on the sidewalk while they were talking about Cassidy. "Yeah I didn't kiss her the other night, she kissed me."

"Hey Austin why don't we have a little bit of fun?" Cassidy said. Austin sat on the park bench and sighed,

"I don't like you Cassidy." Austin stated and chuckled. Cassidy was about to blow, but she heard something and looked out, there she was. There was Ally. She looked miserable. Cassidy smirked, she'll see this. She has to. Cassidy grabbed Austin shirt collar and pulled his lips to hers.

Ally nodded in silence. She didn't want to think about that, she didn't want to think about anything. Nothing with her father, not about Cassidy, nothing. She kept on walking until she heard Austin stop walking. She stopped walking and looked behind her, she saw Austin staring right into her brown eyes.

"Ally…" he breathed, "what am I to you?"

Ally was confused, "You're my friend Austin."

"No I'm not."

"Yeah you are."

"Dammit Ally, I'm not!" he shouted. "If I was your friend you'd talk to me, you wouldn't try to avoid me, and can't you please listen to me?"

Ally widened her eyes at his tone. He looked really angry. She walked towards him and gave a sad smile.

"Austin…I'm sorry. I really do listen when you speak, I just don't know what to say. The reason I avoid you is because I don't want to get hurt-

"I'll never hurt you Ally" Austin interrupted. Ally smiled and continued, "And I really do consider you as my friend. I don't know what I would do without you."

Austin grinned and winked, "Thanks Ally same to you."

Ally's heart fluttered, and she realized they were standing pretty close for just friends, so she stepped back.

"Hey, let's go to the beach!" Austin said. Ally nodded excitedly, "Okay."

When they were at the beach, All Ally could do was lay on the warm sand. It was six o'clock at night so sundown was coming and she wanted to relax. She felt Austin lay down next to her, so she turned her head and looked at him.

"Hey Austin, Ally said, "Tell me about yourself."

He smiled and looked up at the sky, "Well my name is Austin Monica Moon. I love pancakes, I like to play hockey, girls usually fall for me a lot." He turned his head to look at Ally, and she rolled her eyes. "Anyway what about you Ally?"

Ally looked at the sky again, "Well my name is Ally Dawson, my favorite color is red, and I don't have much friends." She looked at him again and he had sadness in his eyes, Austin knew he wasn't supposed to ask, but he couldn't help it. He wanted to know why when they went to her house there was nobody there. Just an empty house.

"What about your parents?" he asked. Ally had no smile anymore, but the smile quickly returned, Austin knew it wasn't a real one though,

"I don't know."

He raised an eyebrow, "what do you mea-

"Hey Austin, let's go back to your house okay?"

Austin gave an awkward smile and nodded, "Yeah okay Ally."

When they got back to the house, Austin's parents weren't there. Austin walked around the kitchen and found a note on the refrigerator,

Austin,

Your father and I will be going on a honeymoon vacation the rest of the week, sorry we didn't tell you, but at least you get to spend time with Ally. Call us when you have any problems, and don't do anything stupid, like throw a party. I always find out. - Love mom

Austin threw the note away and smiled at Ally, "looks like we get the house to ourselves."

Ally nodded, "Austin I think I'm going to go bed, night."

Austin pouted, "But Allyyyy…We are going to have a parttyyyyyy….." he cheered. Ally shook her head,

"You saw what your mom wrote you are not allowed to have one."

"Yeah mom always writes that, but I do it anyway…come on Ally." he begged. Ally shook her head once again,

"No Austin."

Austin sighed, "Fine."

Ally smiled, "okay well I'm going to bed."

"Wait." Austin said.

"Yeah?"

Austin walked closely towards her so that there was no space between them except their faces.

"Austin?" Ally asked a little flustered. He's so close to me…

"Last night I kissed you. Do you remember that?" Austin asked. Ally nodded,

"But Austin I'm really tired so please-

"Can I kiss you again?" He asked his cheeks were colored with a light pink tone. Ally bit her lip and looked at the ground,

"We're friends Austin…"

Austin frowned, "Please, just one. I just need to do it."

Ally couldn't think, she didn't know what to say. What was wrong with Austin all of a sudden? Why does he want to kiss me? Come on Ally, just one and no more.

Ally nodded slowly and she shut her eyes. She waited a few seconds, Austin grabbed her waist and slowly leaned in, Austin's lips barely touched hers, then she heard him snicker, then laugh.

He stepped away from her grabbed onto the counter trying to control his laughter,

"You teased me!" Ally shouted flustered, covering her mouth. Austin stopped laughing and gave a genuine smile,

"You know your cute, when your embarrassed." He said. Ally ran into her guest bedroom and shut the door. She put her hand on her chest and tried to calm down her 100 mile per hour beating heart.

:) I'm back my loves, sorry I have been gone for so long. Summer is finally here, I can now update for you all and I promise I will. I just want you all to know I won't EVER abandon my stories until they are finished. Anyway most of the reviews said update so here is the update. I'll try to update as much as I can for you guys this week. Review? Tell me your favorite part?
