Chapter 14
Poppy looked at the table the both friends were sitting at, the wood was freshly painted white and the table number was on the far corner.
"You're right Sam if it was my mum then I probably would have done the same, but I know you went somewhere. You're keeping secrets from me and we agreed we would never do that"
Sam didn't look at Poppy she was just staring across the street at bumblebee, she tried not to listen to Poppies lecture but she shouldn't ignore it. Just after Poppy finished talked the waitress came round to them and gave Sam here muffin and drink.
"Thank you"
"Anything else I can get you Miss Samantha"
Sam looked over at Poppy, when she turned back to the waitress Sam pulled out a £5 note and gave it to the waitress.
"A Latte for Poppy please"
"Oh no I don't want anything" said Poppy
But by the time Poppy finished the waitress was gone.
"So are you going to be straight with me Sam?"
"Sam took a sip from her mug and a bite from her muffin before saying "I am being straight with you, why all of a sudden don't you trust me?"
Poppy didn't know how to answer. She just looked at the beverage in front of her friend.
"Come on Poppy you haven't been honest with me either"
"I don't know what you're talking about"
"Don't think I don't know Poppy, you're dad has gone to a meeting because he is being offered a new job up north, you have to move."
After Sam had finished she had finished her muffin and took her last sip of her cappuccino. Poppy widened her eyes.
"How did you know about that, I've been arguing with dad for weeks about it. Look Sam it's not like I want to leave, we're supposed to trust each other."
Sam quickly stood up put tips down for the waitress and said "Look whose keeping secrets now, so don't talk to me about trust"
She started to get annoyed so Sam walked off down the street not knowing where she was going. Poppy just watched as Sam turned a corner and was left sitting there with a latte.
Sam was on the border line of the outside of town the small desert was the only place she knew where there won't be anyone around. The dust gave everyone illusions but not Sam she could control the illusions with her powers. Sam sat on the closest sand dune and watched as the sun started to descend from the midpoint in the sky. Until suddenly Sam heard a car engine coming towards her but the sand dunes where blocking her sight so that she cannot see who was coming, so she tucked her legs in and waited to see who it was.
All of a sudden the mechanical shape shifting noise came, now it was a question of whether it was a decepticon or Autobot.
"Come out girl, I promise you that you're demise will be quick and painless, but I'm afraid my master might not agree" came a dark voice
Sam recognised the voice.
"Bone crusher" Sam whispered
She quickly crawled to the next dune trying to get further away from him but it was hard, the sand left traces of where she was. Sam quickly got her phone out of her bag but she couldn't get signal.
"Come on all spark, there is no help this time and I will the Autobots pay for the damage they did to me last time" he laughed
Sam heard him loud and clear, she needed to get back to the city but she couldn't risk being seen.
"If you hurt them then you've got a world of pain to deal with"
Bone crusher hesitated as he heard her voice, quickly Sam stood up where he could see her and she pointed both of her hands at him and shot balls of energy at him. Surprise got him as his outer plating got dented. He quickly transformed one of his arms in to a plasma cannon and started shooting at her. Trying to avoid his shots Sam quickly got up and started running away, each shot almost hit her the sand exploded before bone crusher new it he couldn't see her anymore as she had disappeared in the dust. Bone crusher transformed his arm back and walked towards the clouded dust.
"Hiding won't help you girl, I will find you"
Out of nowhere bone crusher heard the transforming noise and saw a figure through the dust running at him, quickly it jumped on to him and started attacking. It was Sam.
"Who's hiding?"
Each fought one another punching and kicking trying to weaken there opponent until bone crusher pulled out his laser gun and fired at Sam. The impact made her fall to the floor but she couldn't pick herself up out of exhaustion. He came up behind her and point the gun right at her head, the gun began to charge building up energy ready to fire. Before bumblebee jumped in kicking bone crusher and pushing him away from Sam, she was able to look up and see that bumblebee had come to her aid. The dust had grown thicker which made it harder for bumblebee to fight before he knew it he was thrown to the ground with scratches all over him.
Bone crusher made is way over to Sam again hoping to finish what he started just as he was about to kick her Wing Saber started firing down on him in vehicle form from the sky, he transformed just as he was about to hit the ground.
"Sam you alright" he asked
She nodded on response just then bone crusher came charging at him making him fly in to the air which gave him the perfect opportunity. He jumped up and punched Wing Saber just outside the spark chamber, making him fall to the floor heavily battered and injured. Sam could see that Bone crusher wouldn't ignore Wing Saber like he did with bee so she quickly turned invisible and went behind him for a surprise attack.
"This is for taking my passenger door off the last time we met Autobot scum" he shouted
Lifting his arm up and turning it into a blade. Bone crusher was about to end Wing Saber before Sam became visible.
"HEY! Leave my friends alone" yelled Sam
He turned around to see bee and Sam standing in a battle stance. Bumblebee lifted Sam up throwing her high up and while she was coming back down Bumblebee charged at him while he was distracted by Sam. Punching him right in the stomach area making him bend down in pain just as Sam lands on top of him causing him to fall to the floor. Bee kicks him one last time and Sam runs up to him jumping and while in mid-air fires her guns at him before doing a forward roll and ending with a hard landing right on top of bone crusher.
The dust had gone and the city was now visible to the naked eye. Just then Sam heard decepticons coming their way to aid Bone crusher.
"We better get back to base" said bee
Sam and bee walked over to Wing Saber who was sitting on the floor in pain. She put his arm round her shoulder and bee did the same, just as the decepticons became clear Sam teleported them back to base.
They arrived in the control room where Optimus and Scattershot were. The main monitor picked up a high energy signal coming from the desert and then from the base.
"Optimus I've got a high reading here, and I can't identify it"
"Relax Scattershot it's only us" said Sam scaring Scattershot
He turned round to see bee and Sam supporting an injured Wing Saber.
"You have got to warn us when you do that Sam" he laughed
"What happened?" asked Optimus
They all looked at Sam to explain but she only put Wing Saber in the medical bay and walked out of the control room without another word said.
They all glanced at each other wondering what was wrong except Optimus.
"Scattershot call Red Alert and Hotshot back from patrol, debrief them I'll take their place" ordered Optimus
As Optimus was leaving the control room Bumblebee followed talking with the radio again.
"No Bumblebee best we get you checked over first old friend, you are Sam's guardian keep her safe" he added
The Optimus left and bee returned to the medical bay as instructed. As soon as Red Alert and Hotshot got back Red Alert tended to bee and Wing Saber while Scattershot and Hotshot went looking for Sam. They knew she was still in the base but they didn't know where.
It wasn't long before they found Sam as a human training by herself in the training room. She was perfecting her powers that she has already, teleporting on to platforms, firing plasma balls at target she was even trying to fly again. Sam then used her invisibility to sneak up behind the two watching her.
"It's rude to watch someone without asking" said Sam behind them
Scaring both of them they watched as she walked back in to the room and transformed in to a robot again.
"What are you doing" asked Hotshot
"You guys can transform in to vehicles and robots, but you have to scan the vehicle first, I thought that I should be able to do that" Sam answered
With that said she transformed in to a purple sports car.
"He means why are you doing all of this? You walked out when we wanted to know what happened." Said Scattershot
Sam then transformed in to an ambulance.
"Wing Saber and Bumblebee were there, why they can't debrief you?" she asked
Both looked at each other then back to Sam who was now in the shape of a helicopter.
"Wing Saber is a bit weak to tell us and a lot was going on before bee even got there"
Sam transformed back in to a human and sat down in the corner of the room where her bag was.
"I was having an argument with Poppy…"
Hotshot interrupted "Is that the girl that told me where you were?"
"Yeah. Anyway. She knew that I was hiding something, that's you guys, so I told her that she was hiding stuff too coz apparently she's moving for her dads job. So I left her at a café and went to the desert to think then bone crusher arrived and he started firing at me so I fired back and then I transformed and… bee can tell you the rest" she explained
Just then Sam's phone began to ring, she picked it up and saw it was Jeeves so she answered it.
"Hello… is he…. I'm on my way home now then…..thanks bye"
Sam put the phone back in her bag and put in over her head.
"So what's the problem Sam?" questioned Hotshot
"Wing Saber and Bumblebee got hurt because of me, and because of me that decptacreep was about to finish Wing Saber for what he did to save me last time. None of this would have happened if I never interfered." Cried Sam
Scattershot picked Sam up in his hand.
"And because you interfered Sam the all spark isn't in their hands, and because you interfered we have something worth to protect, something worth our lives. You. You're our friend Sam, we care about you don't you forget that." He exclaimed
Sam smiled at that remark.
"You know we should let Red Alert scan you just in case" pointed Hotshot
"Sorry no can do, my dad is at home he's worried about me. I would stay but I don't see my dad that often"
"It's not even dark yet" said Hotshot
"I'll see you tomorrow"
With that said Sam teleported out of Scattershots hand all the way to the outside of her house. Sam opened it to find everyone in the lounge waiting of her. She took her phone out of her bag and teleported it to her bedroom without anyone noticing, hanging her jacket and bag up and walked in the lounge to find Poppies parents with Poppy sitting down on the sofa and her dad sitting at the far end of the room. As soon as he saw Sam enter her walked right up to her and gave her a big hug.
"Hello Samantha, Sorry I haven't come sooner" he said
"It's alright dad" both of them went to sit down together.
Poppy kept glancing over to Sam while their parents talked. Sam saw this and walked out of the room proclaiming to go wash up in the bathroom before dinner, Poppy followed.
Though Sam went to her room and not the downstairs bathroom. Inside she took her shoes off which were filled with sand and placed her slippers on, she changed her clothes so that she didn't look too grubby as they were a bit dirty from the fight. Then she went in to her bathroom and washed her hands and face. Just as she finished Poppy walked in to her room.
Just then Sam saw Poppy and went to lie down on her bed.
"What is it now poppy, gunna talk to me about trust and secrets again?"
"No, I'm sorry Sam. What you do is you're business, I just don't like the fact that we said we were going to spend summer together and we've hardly done that at all"
"Poppy there is only so much you can do plus I don't think you planned that explosion neither my mum going in to hospital"
"Look I know you're hanging around with someone else, a new friend perhaps but I'm not the one that wants to move here" said Poppy
"Are you trying to put the blame on to me now, I'm not moving I'm staying right here where I've always been" shouted Sam
"Well it seems like you're moving on by making new friends, disappearing off all the time. Know see's you around the city because you being secretive. You're not even bothering to fight for our friendship, for me to stay."
"This isn't about you Poppy neither is it about me. How do you know I wasn't with one of our friends maybe Jessica or Amy? I don't have to spend every spare second with you Poppy!"
"Amy is on holiday, and Jessica I don't know. But if it's not about me or you then what is it about" asked Poppy
Sam looked away from poppy standing at the door
"You wouldn't understand" replied Sam
Poppy walked over to Sam's bed and sat on the other side. She sighed before hearing Sam's phone go off. Sam picked it up and saw it was a text message from the Autobots.
It read: Sam the decepticons are on the move you should be safe in your house. We are safe guarding the perimeter, for now don't come out of that house. Scattershot
"What is it Sam?" asked Poppy
Sam just got up from her bed walked round to the other side and hugged Poppy.
"I'm sorry"
"Me too"
Both smiled at each other in joy, though Sam was more worried than joyful.
"Hey why don't we go see the Professor tomorrow" suggested Poppy
Sam nodded though she didn't think it was a good idea, if the Autobots tell her that it's still not safe then Sam would have to come up with a good excuse why she can't go out.
Just then Emily shouted up the stairs to them saying that dinner was ready, both came down the stairs and joined the others at the table.
