"What are you doing, Ravencroth?" Torrin grumbled to himself as he hauled the unconscious Botan forward. He had to admit he had taken a sizable bit of satisfaction in leaving Zytic screaming out in rage trapped within a rather deep hole, a ways down to corridors. This however was a surprise even to him, helping the ferry girl would probably see him locked up in some spirit would prison. The thought to just leave, as this was hardly his fight had occurred to him many times and yet his feet would not let him turn away. This was not the optimum time for his to suddenly find a conscience. He grumbled and leaned Botan against a wall as he rubbed his shoulder.

He had been doing rather well for himself. He'd slipped out of Merrick's trap in the lab. Escaped the vents, and even trapped Zytic. Really he was home free and yet here he was saving the Ferry girl. This wasn't something that he wanted to make a habit of doing. It wasn't as though he was doing this because he cared or anything anyway. The ferry girl was just quite lovely and he couldn't let her turn out like Kuwabara, or any of Merrick's other experiments. Those bulging orange eyes were a look that only the most fashionable of houseflies could pull off. If anything he was doing himself a favor. Torrin huffed a bit all this carrying of people it was all starting to wear on him.

"Well my blue-haired beauty, you look lighter than you feel." He murmured and he gazed at the unconscious girl, while glancing over the shoulder that he massaged. Botan's form slipped down into slump against the wall and Torrin frowned. He moved near to the girl pressing pointer, and forefinger against her next he sought to ensure her pulse was still there. She seemed to let out a sigh as though unconsciously trying to ease his fears. That was all the better, he never really did figure out the best way to check a pulse. In spite of himself Torrin gave a small smile.

Botan's eyes flittered open moments after she exhaled. She noticed a slight ringing in her ears but she was feeling she could stand. Her body was trying to figure out where she was and how she was settled, while her eyes adjusted to the room. At first the figure before her was hazy. She recalled Zytic but knew that the figure before her was not the newt. She blinked; deep azure eyes were the first thing she noticed. Another blink, wings. One last blink and the person's face came into view and it horrified her more than 100 Zytics.

"Welcome back to the waking would, my beauty." His hand was still at her neck and his face was close enough that if he decided to bridge an inch or two, their lips would be joined, if they hadn't already. Botan forwent the scream that was itching at the back of her throat and with all her anger, and a tightly balled fist, struck Torrin with all of her might, fearing that he might have been doing unsavory things with her while she lay unconscious. Torrin practically spun in a circle from the force of the blow then sank to the floor. His head spun a bit and he shook it gripping his cheek. He thought he might have even felt a tooth loosen.

"Well that's a fine way to say thank you!" Torrin exclaimed his and was still pressed at his jaw and he stayed settled on the ground knowing his feet wouldn't be sure enough to allow him to stand yet. Botan had her arms wrapped protectively about herself.

"I'm not in the habit of thanking people who try to take advantage of me when I'm unconscious." Torrin frowned at this comment. It looked as though he genuinely took offense to that claim. "It might surprise you to know," Torrin said rather unsteadily rising to his feet. He seemed to take a moment to pause and adjust his jaw before speaking again. "But, I don't actually make a habit of preying on unconscious women. I just wanted to make certain you were alright, you hit your head rather hard." Torrin dusted himself off and glanced at Botan from the corner of his eye. He could see that she was feeling a little guilty for her accusation.

Torrin had to have saved her because she had been captured, and much as the idea that she had been rescued by Ravencroth made her stomach turn Botan supposed that she should have been grateful. She might have even thanked him provided she could get passed the idea of the bat demon lording his benevolence over her and just like that his selfless act seemed more like some calculated plan to have her in his debt. Botan wasn't fully certain that she could even trust he bat demon. His loyalty were always up for questions, and the fact that he was here in this place felt more planned and less like some coincidence.

"There's just no fun when the woman just lays there. I prefer to at least hear her moan." Botan had been thinking a little too deeply to pay attention though when Torrin's smirk turned into a widened grin and the ferry girl was eased against the wall without warning she heard the bat demon's words far more clearly. "If she protests that simply means her body needs more convincing." Torrin's grin widened as he leaned in toward Botan. She struck Torrin once more, though not with nearly the amount of force as before. That didn't keep him from staggering back rubbing his face, "Sometimes, no means no though."

Torrin shook his head again, and then smiled as though he found amusement in being so despised. Even the glower that he received from Botan didn't dampen his grin. "If I had to guess I'd say you're probably looking for those detectives of yours." The fact that Botan was one hundred percent certain that Torrin knew full well what she was trying to do only made the ferry girl all the more angry. "I just so happen to know this compound well, and know where they are." Botan couldn't be sure that Torrin was just going to lead her into a trap or not, it seemed as though he may have done the same thing with the detectives. Botan would have to play the odds at least she would be with the others.

"Where are they?" Botan asked with no small amount of uncertainty. Torrin pointed upward, "the labs." Botan hefted an eyebrow repeating the words that Torrin spoke with a much more quizzical tone. "How do I get there?"

"I'd say the walls are your best bet. If you start now you may even find them before Merrick turns them all into bug eyed freaks."

"You're not being clear enough," said Botan steadily growing more frustrated with Torrin. She drew in a deep breath and took a moment to bite down onto her lower lip, "If you are going to help me then please take me to where they are."

"Can't."

"Oh! Why not?" Botan was now in a bit of a huff finding that Torrin was being more than a little unreasonable.

"I've already done my good deed for the day. Too many at once and suddenly I'm walking old ladies across the street, and offering my services for free, and that's simply no way to turn a profit in this work. So if you have nothing to offer me, I'll be off."

An exasperated groan rocked Botan's entire body. Torrin began to walk away slowly as though he knew that Botan would try to stop him. "Wait!" Just like he expected, he didn't even have to count to three. He turned grinning from ear to ear.

"What is it my beauty? You wish to offer me something, incentive? Maybe in the form of a kiss, a stimulating massage, or maybe—"

"Amnesty," She responded in a droning voice. Torrin was actually made speechless by that single word. "Your crimes will be pardoned if you help me. How is that for incentive?"

"You my blue haired beauty," Torrin said with a smirk, "drive a hard bargain. But, I'll do it, just because I'm such a nice guy and you'd be lost without. I could hardly live with myself if that happened." His voice was dripping with so much false concern that he probably could have drowned in it. Botan ignored his patronizing tone knowing it would be an uphill battle to pop the bubble of smugness Torrin surrounded himself in. "Come along, I'm sure dear uncle Merrick is waiting for me." with those words Boton's hand was gripped and she was tugged helplessly behind the bat demon.

Torrin wasted no time in using that odd ability of his to slice though the walls. Botan had to admit it was helpful, and Torrin did seem to know where his was going. Ripples of uncertainty made Botan's stomach quiver. She had no idea where Torrin was taking her, or even what had happened to the spirit detectives.

Torrin was retracing the steps that he took to escape the lab. It was a good thing that he and Merrick had not talked with one another in some time because then the demon would have known about his ability. Merrick would have been fascinated by that, and then he'd be fitted with a set of fish eyes. Torrin shuddered at the thought which drew Botan's concern.

"What is it?"

"Nothing come on we're not far now." They were going to need a plan. Merrick was a creature of habit, and as sure as the demon had to project himself on his creations, Torrin knew that Merrick would have the device that would turn off whatever was causing Kuwabara's transformation Merrick just needed to be distracted enough to get the control away. The sounds of fighting could be heard overhead, Botan could place almost every grunt and groan. She knew her friends were in a great deal of trouble.

Even if they wanted to get into the lab the way Torrin had escaped that would not be able to due to debris from the fight and a particularly large machine covering up the hole. Torrin had other plans the space within the wall grew narrower and smaller as, Torrin continued to coax Botan onward. It seemed they were venturing away from her friends and Botan felt reluctant to cooperate. She kept her voice low but refused to crawl any further through what had become a dark and dusty shaft. "Ravencroft they are the other way I heard them where are you leading me." Botan whispered loudly.

"Not much further." Torrin stated in matter of fact tone. They were right where they needed to be. Torrin took to stretching curling up his fingers. In the dark enclosed space the action was hidden from Botan but she could feel he was up to something. "Don't you trust me?" The bat demon asked.

"No" Botan said.

"Fair enough; well, just be a good little decoy."
