After my little blunder with Reyna I was much more careful with my project.

I finally finished it but now I need to learn it and perfect it.

We were at the Senate meeting and Gwen stepped down letting Frank be a Centurion.

When they left we held another quick meeting without them though Nico had to leave with them, don't really know why.

"We need to spend the legions money on some reinforcements maybe..." Octavian kept rambling.

"Oh shut it Octavian." I said which made all the others turn to me.

"You need to listen Centurion." Octavian said angrily.

I laughed "The only time I will ever listen to you is when you say 'Oh my gods! I'm dying, I can see the light, but wait this isn't Elysium this is the Fields of Punishment. Hello Hitler, hello Mussolini. Captain Kangaroo what are you doing here?' that is when I will listen Octavian." I said with a straight face. Not joking I almost lost it at the kangaroo part.

Everyone stared at me for a few seconds before breaking down in laughter.

Dakota was hugging his stomach and holding on to Leila who looked ready to pass out from happiness, Gwen was in tears along with all the other Centurions, while Reyna was actually sobbing from laughter with tears streaming down her face.

"Well my work here is done." I said getting up.

Reyna barely had enough energy to lift her hand to dismiss me.

I walked out with a smirk.

I decided to make it up to the legion for that little outburst by helping out with the defenses.

I went to the Fields of Mars and helped with some traps.

I was helping some Mercury kid, Danny Stoll, a twelve year old kid that was sent to an orphanage.

Apparently he had older brothers but they never contacted his family so he never knew them.

"I think they were killed or something." Danny said.

"Did you ever know their names?" I asked a little intrigued.

"Travis and Connor I think." Danny said.

"Hey Sane need any help?" a voice came up behind me.

I turned around and found Gwen standing behind me.

"Um yeah can you set the wire." I asked handing the wire to her.

"Sure." she said with a smile.

She set the wire, I thanked her, and she left.

"Who was that?" Danny asked in a voice like he had been holding in his breath.

I turned to him and saw that his eyes were glued to her.

"Aw someone has a crush." I said.

Danny went red faced and then snorted.

"Yeah right. She's cute and all with her...her beautiful hair and...amazing eyes...and...wow." he trailed off as he stared at her.

"Subtle, real subtle." I said with a smirk.

Danny looked at me with a glare.

"Shut it. I don't even like girls, I'm twelve." he defended.

I chuckled and then ruffled his hair.

"You'll learn kid, you'll learn." I said as I finished the trap and walked away.

I was walking down the road and saw Gwen talking with Dakota.

"Hey Gwen!" I yelled.

She looked over, waved goodbye to Dakota, and came up to me.

"What's up Insane?" Gwen asked.

Yes people started calling me Insane again but I liked it, it was never about me being different it was a joke so I started liking it. I really like it when Reyna called me Insane.

"That kid back there that I was with..." I started.

"Danny?" Gwen asked.

"You know his name?" I asked.

"Guilty as charged." Gwen said with a smile.

"Anyway, he has a crush on you, and I mean a big one. So if you see him again and he tries anything can you let him down easy, he is just a kid learning about love and everything." I explained.

Gwen smiled "Ohhh Insane that is so sweet, caring about a little kid like he was your own brother. I'll let him down as easy as I can."

I smiled relieved "Thanks Gwen."

Gwen pulled me into a hug.

"Your a good guy Peter. Really." she said with another smile.

Then she kissed me on the cheek which made me turn bright red.

Gwen noticed this and chuckled lightly.

"Peter? Have you ever kissed a girl?" Gwen asked with a smile.

I gulped hard but slowly shook my head.

Gwen scoffed "Then how do expect to kiss Reyna?"

I went wide eyed but then calmed down, Dakota worked with her no doubt he told her.

Gwen rolled her eyes jokingly.

"Follow me." she said and she led me to New Rome.

She led me to her new apartment.

It was nice and completely furnished so it was homey.

"Sit down." Gwen said as she handed me a soda.

I reluctantly sat down.

"Relax, don't be nervous I'm not going to rape you or anything." Gwen said which caused me to chuckle nervously.

"I'm not nervous or anything." I tried to say.

"Please your sweating like a pig." Gwen said.

I gulped harder than before.

"Listen, I know how you feel about Reyna, but you need to know this. Reyna has never had a boyfriend." Gwen said.

"What? Not Jason or anything?" I asked amazed that someone that beautiful could go that long without a boyfriend.

Gwen stared at me.

"What were your grades in school?" she asked out of nowhere.

"A's and B's. Why?" I asked confused.

"No reason." Gwen quickly said.

"Anyway." Gwen continued.

"You haven't kissed a girl before and I'm guessing you want your first kiss to be special and I'm guessing Reyna does too."

I nodded embarrassed.

"Nothing to be embarrassed about, I'll help you." she said.

I was a little shocked.

Then Gwen was laughing loudly.

"Don't worry I won't kiss you, though it is tempting." Gwen said with a wink.

I think the heat on my face would have melted the sun.

"Like I said, Reyna has never kissed anyone and neither have you. So I'm going to teach you." Gwen simply put.

"Teach me? How?" I asked.

Gwen sat next to me and leaned in close.

"I can teach you...everything." she said in a soft voice.

I was really uncomfortable and shifted in my seat.

"Umm...maybe we should slow down or something." I tried to say.

"I don't know, this is...nice...isn't it?" Gwen said as she leaned.

She got closer and closer.

Our lips were inches from each other and I couldn't stop shaking.

"And that Sane, is how you lean in for a kiss." Gwen said as she pulled away.

I let out a sigh of relief and got up.

"Wow was I that bad?" Gwen asked.

"No no no. You were fine, I mean you were great. Not that I would date you. Not that I wouldn't date you. I mean..." I kept rambling.

"Insane?" Gwen said as she put a hand on my arm.

I was actually shaking.

"You'll be fine." she reassured me.

I actually felt better about this now.

"Thanks Gwen really." I said and pulled her into a hug.

"Anytime Sane. Anytime." she said.

I waved her goodbye and headed back to my cohort for bed.

I didn't realize that it was already curfew, then again ADHD can do that to you.

I crashed on my bed not even thinking about working on the project.

I was up thinking about what Gwen did and it gave me a headache.

I drifted to sleep and woke up to an explosion.

I shot out of bed as my room shook violently.

I activated my armor and ran outside.

That was probably what saved my life, the second I ran out the door a massive fireball came down and crashed into the cohort, propelling me into the air.

The wind cushioned my fall but I still went crashing into a wall.

I felt someone grab my shoulder and haul me up.

I looked at the person who helped me and found the face of young Danny Stoll grinning like an idiot.

"Stoll?" I said as I shook my head to get the fuzzy vision clear again.

Stoll handed me some Nectar, I took quick swig and my vision cleared.

"How you been man?" I asked as we waited for my wounds to heal and before joining the battle.

Stoll sighed like he was in heaven.

"Gwen gave me a kiss good luck. I think I'm in love man." Danny said.

I gave a fist bump, the kid is making more progress than me.

I felt mt energy come back.

"Let's go show these monster's who's boss." I said raising my bow.

"Let's Sane." Danny said.

I soared into the air and started shooting enemies at any clearing that didn't have demigods in the vicinity.

I also shot arrows that seemed to overwhelm anyone and I would swoop down and pick them up and carry them behind the defenses.

I was shooting down a gorgon when something caught my eye.

A patch of curly hair being swarmed by a bunch of Earthborn.

I tried to get to him but another gorgon got in my way.

The Earthborn grabbed Danny and he fell to the ground.

I quickly stabbed the gorgon with an arrow and she exploded into dust.

"DANNY!" I screamed as I swooped down and cut the Earthborn into pieces of clay.

I quickly grabbed him and soared past the defenses to the aqueduct.

We landed and I put Danny down.

Danny coughed and some blood trickled out of his mouth, h had cuts all over his face.

I had no medical supplies with me, I checked Danny and he had nothing either, I looked around but found nothing.

"P-Peter?" Danny said weakly.

I ran and grabbed his shoulder.

"I-I'm here buddy." I said.

He lifted his hand up and I took it.

"D-Do you think G-G-Gwen would go to lunch w-w-with m-me?" Danny asked as more blood trickled from his mouth and his hand started shaking violently.

I tried to fight back tears for the young demigods sake but it was too much.

"I-I'm sure she would love to man. She...She's crazy about you." I said as tears fell down my face.

Danny gave a pained chuckle and coughed violently.

"I'm going to save you buddy." I said as I grabbed him, ready to run to the nearest supply of ambrosia.

Danny screamed in pain, I turned him over and found one of those rocks the Earthborn used lodged into his waist.

"Oh my gods." I said.

Nothing could be done.

Danny, twelve year old Danny, not even old enough for fucking high school, shaving, love. He was going to miss it.

He was going to die.

"T-T-Tell Gwen that I loved her, that...that no one was more b-beautiful. P-Please." Danny said with a few tears.

I hung my head and squeezed his hand.

"I...I...I will." I said sniffling tears running down my face.

Danny nodded weakly and pulled something out of his pocket.

It was a small ball about the size of a golf ball, it had a small red button, and it looked to be made of imperial gold.

"Send me out with a bang buddy." Danny said as he handed me the ball.

Mercury kids were clever and tricky and known for making genius inventions.

I took the ball in my hand and I somehow knew what it would do.

"I'll send you out in a supernova Danny." I said.

Danny nodded and then went cross eyed and his hand stopped shaking.

Danny stopped breathing. The twelve year old, love struck, funny child of Mercury, was dead.

I was breathing in a rapid pace.

"Danny? Danny!" I said even though I knew I would get nothing out of it.

I held the broken demigod close and cried into his head.

Anger soared through me.

I went on autopilot after that.

I stormed into enemy lines with my axe and shield bashing anyone that came near me.

I cut down Earthborn, ripped the horns off of centaurs, sliced the cyclops's into thousands of pieces.

I didn't even remember when Percy and the others got back, only that there was now a very large hellhound.

Then the Amazons showed up.

Reyna told me how Hylla might be dead and that the Amazons could be working for Polybotes.

That thought disappeared when thy turned on the giant army.

I saw Reyna's sister instantly, she looked like an older version of Reyna yet somehow Reyna was ten times more beautiful.

I flew up and landed right onto the sharpened points on the forklift.

"What the..." Hylla said.

I smirked.

"Hi Hylla I'm Peter Sane."

Now Hylla was smirking.

"Hylla, so your the Peter my sister wont stop talking about."

That almost made me forget about the world ending.

But then again Danny had died in my arms, I had to live for him.

I summoned my bow and looked back at Hylla, we had a mental conversation.

"You steer." I said.

"You shoot." she said.

After that it was absolute mayhem.

The army never stood a chance after maybe twenty minutes the entire army was reduced to dust.

And then Percy Jackson killed Polybotes with a Terminus sized headbutt.

I dropped my weapons in exhaustion and then heard everyone saying that Percy deserves to be Praetor.

Just my luck.
