Chapter 14-
"My story isn't like everyone else's. It's not about rape, drugs, neglect or kidnapping. It's a whole different subject." He started off. Alejandro took a breath and rubbed his temple. He hated remembering the accident. He hated speaking about it even more.
"Take your time man. Remember, if the time runs out you can continue next week." Chris told him.
"That's just it. I want to finish it this week. I don't want to drag it out longer than I have to."
"I thought you said you weren't coming in next week." Ezekiel asked.
"I won't be here. But you guys still have to come. I have someone filling in for me."
"Please tell me it isn't that man downstairs that's in for Blainenely." The Goth muttered.
"Well, actually yes, yes it is."
"That's nice."Eva replied sarcastically.
"Why do we have to come?" Heather asked.
"Because I get paid by the session."
"So you do have ulterior motives." Justin said.
"That's not true. I love you guys."
"Don't make me get up." Eva told him. Chris raised his arms up.
"Okay, okay. I do it for the money. But I do care for you all, in a way. Like a distant uncle."
"Way distant." Sadie muttered.
"My uncle cut off his ear." Izzy blurted out. Chris looked at the red head.
"The things you say really shouldn't be said."
"Freedom of speech, you can't take it away."
"Yeah but you abuse that privilege." He told her. The red head just laughed.
"Are you ready to keep talking?" Bridgette asked the Latino.
"Do you want me to get Mr. Hatchet to bring you something?"
"No thanks. I'm fine." He leaned back into his chair. "Before I moved here I lived in another city. My father's a diplomat so we move a lot.
"A diplomat? Yeah right." Heather scoffed.
"I'm not lying."
"What's your fathers' name?" Lindsay asked.
"Raul Burromuerto."
"Wait a sec. You're the son of Raul Burromuerto? You're joking right?" Justin said.
"No. I'm not joking."
"Oh wow." Bridgette said.
"Anyway, I'm the youngest of 3 children so I had it pretty rough. With my brothers that is, my mother spoiled me rotten."
"Do you get along well with your brothers?" Sadie asked.
"With Carlos, yes, with Jose? Not so much."
"Most kids don't get along well with their siblings." Bridgette said.
"You obviously haven't seen Gwen's relationship with her brother. Those two get along well." Alejandro muttered.
"Yeah, well I beg to differ. I can't stand my sister or brother at all." Heather stated.
"I wish I had siblings." Sierra said.
"So does the reason you moved here have anything to do with what you're about to tell us?" Eva asked.
"Well you decide for yourself. Anyway I grew up surrounded with family. We were all close. We had Sunday barbeques every week. It was a way for us to all stay close. It was nice; I was close with my cousin, Louis. We were close in age and we related to each other well. Having brothers that annoy the hell out of you will do that."
"That sounds like it was nice." Lindsay said. "I wish my family would get together like that. But everyone's always so busy."
"It was, but nothing stays the same forever. When I twelve, my family moved to Portland. So I didn't see them much after that."
"Where did you move from?"
"Michigan." He answered.
"Wow you weren't kidding. You moved a lot." Sierra said. The Latino nodded.
"Did you go to school? Or were you homeschooled?" Sierra asked.
"Yes. I went to two private schools before I finally told my mother I wanted to go to public schools."
"Why?"
"Private schools bored me."
"I'll say." Izzy muttered.
"You went to private school?"
"Yeah, I did for about two months. Then I got kicked out."
"That doesn't surprise me." Justin told the red head. She flipped him off.
"School was going well for me," he continued, "I made friends. I fit in like a normal kid. Then three months later I got good news."
"Which was?" Heather asked.
"I was going to tell you but you just interrupted me." Heather was about to say something but Sadie interrupted her.
"Continue." The sweet girl told him.
"My Uncle Julio was moving to town."
"And I'm guessing that's Louis' father?" Bridgette said.
"You would be correct." He stopped and rubbed his temples.
"Are you okay?" Chris asked him.
"Yeah, I'm just getting a headache."
"Do you want something for it?"
"No, I'll be fine."
"Alright then."
"My uncle and my cousins settled in. My cousin, Louis was accepted to my school and his brother went to the high school downtown. Things went well for a while. That is, until a new kid got transfred to our school."
"How was that bad?" Lindsay asked.
"You'll find out soon."
"Okay."
"He was extremely shy, and he always had his head down. My cousin said it would be nice to go and make friends with him, because he was new and he knew what it felt to be the new kid."
"Aww that was nice of him." Sadie mussed.
"Yeah, to bad nice never gets you anything good."
"What?" she asked.
"Never mind."
Chris looked at the time. "Do any of you want to take a break?"
"Yeah, I need to go to the bathroom." D.J. said.
"And my bladder feels like it'll explode any second."Heather said.
"I'd love to see that." Gwen teased.
"Get bent." The Goth rolled her eyes.
"Lets take 5. That okay with you, Alejandro."
"Sí. Why not?"
Heather walked back into the room and took her seat.
"Okay that's everyone. Is anybody hungry I can get-"
"No!" they all yelled cutting him off.
"Okay." He turned to Alejandro. "You ready to continue?"
He nodded.
"Did you guys make friends with the new kid, eh?" Ezekiel asked.
"Well not exactly."
"We should just walk up and talk to him." Louis said. Alejandro looked at his cousin.
"Why?"
"Because it's hard to be the new guy."
"I know it is but maybe he's one of those people who don't like to be bothered. Did that ever cross your mind?"
"No one really likes to be alone, Alejandro."
"Some people do. I know a girl who likes to keep to herself."
"Whatever. I think we should still go talk to the guy."
"Estás loco."
"Well I'm going to go, whether you come with me or not."
Alejandro sighed but shrugged. His cousin was stubborn.
"I'll go with you."
"Good." The two walked through the cafeteria, until they approached the boys table.
"Hi. My name is Louis." He introduced himself. The kid looked at them with a frown and stayed silent.
"Well that was rude." Heather scoffed.
"What happened after that?" Lindsay asked.
"He stared at us for a few more seconds, muttered something we didn't hear and got up and left."
"Well that was just uncalled for." Bridgette said.
"What did you guys do?"D.J. asked.
"I just shrugged and told my cousin I told you so."
"How did Louis take it?" Gwen asked the Latino.
"He felt bad for a while. Needless to say he gave up on him. But he still couldn't help but feel bad for the guy. Especially, when all kinds of rumors about him, started going around."
"I hate rumors." Gwen spat.
"What kind of rumors?" Ezekiel asked.
"Ones like he was orphaned as a baby because his mother didn't want him. Or that he was a freak that did drugs and cut himself."
"Teens can be so mean."
"To makes matteres worst, he started getting picked on. He was a prime target for bullies because he liked to be alone."
"That must have sucked." Justin mused.
"Louis tried to reach out to him, but to no avail. It was obvious to me that he didn't trust anyone."
"I don't blame him for not trusting." Heather said. "I don't trust anyone either."
"Don't you trust us?" the gentle giant asked. Heather looked at D.J. and shrugged.
"So what happened next?" She asked changing the conversation.
"Well we went on about our business as usual. Sadly, the kid, who I found out his name, was Robert, kept being bullied. A month later, some of the guys in the wrestling team jumped him. They beat him up bad; he had to go to the hospital. I didn't see him for about 3 weeks."
"Damn."
"Stupid jocks." The Goth muttered. Alejandro raised an eyebrow at her.
"All jocks except Tyler, are fucking jerk-offs."
"I recent that."
"Sorry, I meant Tyler and you."
"Thank you." He told her. She rolled her eyes.
"Those 3 weeks were quiet and uneventful. The seniors were getting ready for graduation. But I as well as the school were in for a surprise. And it wasn't a pleasant one. And it would be one that would change all of our lifes."
"What was it?" the red head asked. Alejandro sighed and looked at all of them. He looked at Gwen before gazing at the floor. Seconds passed.
"Do you want to stop?" Chris asked.
"No."
"Alright."
"It was the day that Robert came back."
"Take your time."
"That day he came to school to get even with everyone."
"Please don't tell me that he did what I think he did." Gwen said.
Alejandro nodded and sighed before he continued.
"He came to school to kill."
