Halo of Flies On Hiatus
A/N: Sorry I've been away so long and the lack of updates. My life got a very complicated and will probably get even more hectic from here on out. That said, I've been reading my fic and while I'm content with my later chapters, I cringe when I read my early chapters (especially considering I wrote a review on a fic that I gave the MST treatment to that required two review posts to make because of how many bad things I found in it; keeping the crap in my early chapters reeks of hypocrisy). So, I've decided to undertake an overhaul project where I try to fix the badfic chapters while retaining the meat of the plot I came up with. Ian will still have his freak accident that lands him on the Citadel and have his weapons, but other things like his having his guitar and such will be edited. Also, I need to explain why an archaeology dig in the continental U.S. has what amounts to an armed guard with them, expanding on Ian's past life, etc. Also, considering Ian was only a Marine for one term of service, I'll probably demote him from Sergeant since infantry Marine life is notorious for its personnel having difficulty picking up higher ranks (see the comic Terminal Lance for comedic commentary on this phenomenon). I'm also going to have him behave more realistically when he sees non-human species on the Citadel for the first time, realizing just how backward and truly alone he is as he's the only human from before humanity having a presence beyond low Earth orbit, and so on. This will take a while as it's a lot of work going over my story and fixing it with the help of my friend VincentSoulshift, but in the long run the story and my writing will be better off for it.
I ask for your patience and understanding and hope that you'll all enjoy the results.
Respectfully, ME-Iron-Maiden
