Unbelievable
Everyone present was staring at Hiccup in disbelief.
"Did he just..." Astrid began.
"Tame..." Snotlout continued.
"That..." Fishlegs pointed.
"Thing?!" Ruffnut and Tuffnut finished.
Meanwhile, Hiccup - flying on Toothless, of course - was petting the Red Death on the nose, with the mountain-sized dragon's demented and satisfied grin giving everyone chills down their spines, the size of its rows of teeth sure to give them all nightmares later. Stoick couldn't believe his eyes as his arms hung limply by his sides; his son had managed to calm down and control what he thought was Ragnarok itself, and Gobber's blatant gaping wasn't helping. The other Hairy Hooligans were left shocked at the audacity of Berk's worst Viking succeeding at stopping and taming the gargantuan monstrosity, and what made the entire thing bizarre was that the thing was acting like a baby being cooed, the purring sounds it was making very unsettling.
Suddenly, the unholy spawn of Fenrir and Jörmungandr gave a mighty roar that nearly deafened them all, and extended its wings. With a great beat, it was suddenly in the air, followed closely by Hiccup and Toothless. The trio flew upwards until the people and dragons on the ground could no longer see them, their figures hidden by the clouds. Everyone was left wondering what was happening, until they heard a mighty crack - as if the very ground had been torn asunder by the Gods - and then heard a giant wave of water rushing towards them. But it never came.
As everyone that panicked composed themselves, they witnessed Hiccup and Toothless landing on the beach, with the former soaked yet smiling wide and the latter looking annoyed but glad.
"Well, we won't be seeing that thing again." Hiccup laughed jovially, getting off his Night Fury as everyone converged on him and his dragon. "We did it, bud!"
"... Hiccup?" Stoick called out tentatively, causing everyone to focus on their chief. " What did you do to that... thing?"
"Oh, you mean the Red Death? I made it drown itself! Pretty surprised, huh? But as for the how part... I really, really don't want to talk about it."
The Chief of Berk carefully considered this. "... Fair enough."
Gobber blinked, finally closing his mouth. "Well done lad! Who would have thought you could command the bloody queen of the dragons?!"
"Nobody, apparently." The brunet deadpanned, looking around at the awestruck faces of his tribespeople and wild dragons around him. "So... who wants go home already?"
"Hiccup?" It was Astrid, pushing through everyone else just to be face-to-face with him. "You. Are. UNBELIEVABLE!"
"... You don't say, Astrid. Hel, it's even in this chapter's title."
"Wait, what-"
