~SOKYOKU HILL (EVERYONE ELSE'S PERSPECTIVE)~
"It's over, Aizen." Yoruichi stated. Aizen chuckled. "What's so funny? You've been caught."
"Ah yes, I have been caught. Even Gin and Tousen. However…" Everyone's eyes narrowed. "There's one person you forgot to get." As if on cue, a blur of blue shot toward Yoruichi and Soi-Fon, a black flower design appearing on them. Their eyes widened as the blur shot toward them again. The jumped away from Aizen to avoid the hit, and they stared in shock.
"These designs are like…"
"They're from Suzumebachi…" Soi-Fon completed her mentor's thoughts.
Ukitake and Shunsui and the other captains watched as the blur finally stopped in front of Aizen, arms stretched out defensively and Suzumebachi on her right arm in Shikai. Ukitake's eyes widened in shock. "Impossible… it's you…"
Ichigo and co. stared at the girl, confused with question marks appearing over their heads. "Uh… who's she?" Chad asked, stepping forward.
"She's so young… Why is she in front of Aizen?" Orihime asked, frowning.
Uryu stared at Ryoko, eyes wide. It… can't be!
The head Captain opened his eyes slightly to look at Ryoko. "Ryoko, how were you able to escape Hueco Mundo? I was told it was a one-way trip."
Orihime looked around, before seeing Ukitake. "Um… excuse me, but… Who is she?"
Ukitake swallowed a lump in his throat. "A former member of Squad 13… former Soul Reaper… and Quincy. Banished for being a Quincy and hiding her powers from us…" He hesitated and looked down. "…Ryoko…Ishida."
Orihime, Chad, and Ichigo all had shocked looks on their faces. Did he just say… Ishida? They turned their heads to see a frozen-in-shock Uryu, his eyes wide as saucers. His hands were sweating and shaking, and his face had no color.
He was staring straight at the little girl. "R-Ryoko…?" he croaked, his head spinning. She turned to look at him, and her eyes widened as well. "Is that… is that really you…?" By now, everyone was watching the two. Even Aizen. Ryoko nodded slowly, tears brimming her eyes. He took a step forward, then another, and was about to continue when the Head Captain's spiritual energy stopped him dead in his tracks.
"Do not move, Ryoka. She is an enemy and will be dealt as such."
Uryu tried to speak, but was having a difficult time breathing. He looked at Ryoko and saw that she was struggling, but not as much. His heart sank when he saw the hurt look on her face, but turned into shock when she turned to the head captain.
"DON'T HURT NII-SAN! She screamed, creating a Quincy bow and aiming an arrow at the head captain. He stood there silently for a moment, confused, but did not lower his reiatsu. Ryoko's bow disappeared and she ran to Aizen quickly. "Nii-san!" she exclaimed happily. Uryu stared at her, shocked at what she was saying.
"Nii…san?" Uryu asked in confusion. He was her brother, not Aizen…
Aizen smiled before wrapping her up in a tight hug which she gladly reciprocated.
Uryu shook slightly, not knowing what to do. She was his sister, dammit! He looked at Kukaku, who had a frown on, then at the others. His eyes widened when he heard Aizen.
"I'm sorry…"
Ryoko frowned slightly.
"…Goodbye…"
Everyone's eyes widened as Aizen's sword stabbed right through her stomach, causing blood to splatter onto the ground behind her. Her black clothing turned dark red, and blood leaked out from her lip. She looked up at her "brother" in shock, eyes wide and scared. She slowly stepped back, the sword sliding out of her easily. More blood splattered before she fell to her knees. Tears flowed down her cheeks as she stared at everyone's solemn faces. "N-nii…san…? W-why…?"
"You weren't supposed to be like this, Ryoko…" What he said shocked the girl, but no one knew what he was saying because his voice was too low. "You're not supposed to be able to have Quincy powers and Shinigami powers. I was told you attacked a captain and other Soul Reapers… and now you've teamed up with Aizen. You… you do not deserve to be a Quincy." Ryoko shook in anger and shock and sadness, not knowing what was going on.
"Nii…san… Why…?" She closed her eyes and fell forward, unconscious.
Aizen grabbed her before she could fall, and slid his sword back into its sheath. "I really didn't want to do this, but it seems the time has come." As he said that, a pillar of yellow energy surrounded him, Gin, and Tousen, lifting them up into a large garganta with hundreds of large gillians. He smirked down at them. "We will meet again, Soul Reapers. And I will be the one on the throne of heaven." He stated. He took off his glasses and crushed them, then slicked his hair back. He grinned maliciously, holding Ryoko like a rag doll, before the garganta shut.
Everyone stared in shock and confusion. No one knew what just happened. The silence was deafening, but it wasn't long before Uryu broke the tension.
"RYOKOOOOOOO!"
~BYAKUYA'S MANSION: SQUAD 6 (THREE DAYS LATER)~
"I don't understand…" Orohime said, frowning and looking down at the ground. They were all inside Rukia's room recovering, thinking about what had happened. "Why would Aizen stab Ryoko then take her with him?"
"I don't know." Ichigo admitted. "She called Aizen "nii-san", though…"
Uryu sighed, gaining everyone's attention for a short moment before turning to the door as Unohana walked in. "Captain Unohana?" Renji asked, confused.
"I may have an idea of what happened." She said, making everyone focus on her. She frowned sadly at Uryu, making his nervous. "I am sorry, boy. But it seems he used his Kyoka Suigetsu's ability, Complete Hypnosis, on her." His eyes widened.
"What do you mean?" Chad asked, voicing everyone's thoughts.
"He used Complete Hypnosis to make himself look like you, Uryu." His eyes widened more in realization.
"So… what he did…"
She nodded solemnly. "He made it look as if you stabbed her through the stomach in order to keep her from leaving him too soon. My thoughts are that he still needed her for something. Probably her abilities."
"No way…" Ichigo whispered. They all looked to Uryu, who had gone even paler. He was looking at the ground, but his eyes were unfocused. His fists were clenched and his knuckles white. "Uryu…"
Orihime stood and walked over to Uryu, putting a hand on his shoulder. She opened her mouth but Uryu stopped her. "That bastard…"
"Uryu…"
"I finally see my sister after so many years… and Aizen just…" He gritted his teeth, then punched the floor. "Dammit!"
Orihime's eyes widened when she saw blood from his hands. "Uryu!" She yelled, using her powers to heal his hand where his nails dug into his skin. Ichigo put a hand on Uryu's shoulder, getting the crestfallen boy's attention.
"Hey, we'll get your sister back, alright? Don't worry." Uryu looked at his friend sadly, then looked down.
"…Alright…"
Ichigo, Chad, Orihime, and Unohana smiled sadly. Renji sighed and turned to the unconscious Rukia. "What about that thing he took from her? The Hogyoku?" He asked. "We need to defeat Aizen quickly."
"Ah! No need to worry, Renji! The Hogyoku needs time to "wake up"! So it'll take a while!"
"GAH!" Everyone jumped and looked behind Renji to see Urahara with a stupid smile.
Ichigo frowned. "We don't exactly have to not worry, Urahara!" Ichigo growled. "He's got Uryu's sister!"
Urahara frowned. "Yes, I heard." His serious tone shocked Ichigo, but he ignored it. "We can't get him yet, though. You're not strong enough, Ichigo."
"Me?"
"You, Orihime, Chad, and Uryu are the only ones who have yet to be under his Kyoka Suigetsu."
"So you guys are affected? If that's so, then why did you guys know Ryoko was tricked by Aizen, and didn't see what she saw?" Orihime asked.
"My guess is that Aizen only used it on her. He had no need to trick us, since he saw us as less than a threat." Unohana explained. Urahara nodded.
"Exactly."
"Well we have to do something to get her back! Who knows what she could do?!" Uryu shouted.
"Calm down, Uryu." Ichigo said, putting a hand on his shoulder. Uryu tensed up slightly before calming down, looking at the ground angrily.
"We'll make sure nothing goes wrong. Most likely he won't kill her." Urahara stated. "For now, heal up. You won't be able to bring her back when you're weak and injured." He smiled and waved his fan.
"Fine." Chad said, nodding.
Uryu said nothing, only thinking of what would happen to his sister while they were separated… Ryoko…
~HUECO MUNDO: LAS NOCHES~
The world spun around Ryoko as she cracked her eyes open. She sat there in a daze for a moment before her eyes shot open and she sat up quickly, only to fall back from dizziness. "Ngh… My head… What happened…?" She put her hand to her head and shook it slightly, closing her eyes.
"Ah, you're awake. That's good." Ryoko quickly opened her eyes to see Ulquiorra.
"Ulquiorra-sama…" Ryoko said, slowly sitting up. She turned her head to the third Espada, raising an eyebrow. "W-why are you here…?"
"I was ordered to watch over you as you recover."
"So…You're my babysitter?" She giggled slightly at Ulquiorra's blank face.
"You could say that." He said in a monotone voice. Ryoko giggled. "What's so funny?"
"Nothing. I just think you're funny." He blinked. She stopped giggling and tried to move, but a pain in her stomach forced her to stop. She looked down and her eyes widened. Her stomach was bandaged completely, but part of the white bandages is blood red. She remembered what happened and tears swelled up in her eyes. She sniffled, and tried to keep the tears in, but fails. "U-Uryu… Nii-san…" She covered her face in her legs, wrapping her arms around her legs.
Ulquiorra watched her silently, his expression not changing at all. He stood. "I will tell Aizen-sama you're awake." He walks to the door and opens it. "Do not cry for those who are your enemy." He looked at her through the corner of his eye. "They are never worth it." He finished as he left, closing the door.
Ryoko looked at the door sadly, thinking about what he said.
"That bastard…" Maneshi growled inside Ryoko's head. She frowned and closed her eyes, going into her inner world. When she opened her eyes, she was shocked to see the fire very faint, and rain pouring everywhere. "Look what he did!"
"What's going on…? Why is the fire going out?" Ryoko asked, scared and crying. Maneshi walked over to her and nudged her slightly. She hugged around its neck tightly.
"This world reflects your emotions, Ryoko." Ryoko turned her head slightly to see Manna behind her, frowning slightly in sympathy.
"My… emotions?"
She nodded. "In this instance, if you are sad, then this place is engulfed in water." Manna explained. She walked over to the little girl and rubbed her head slightly, making the child smile faintly.
"I'm sorry… I didn't mean for this place to rain."
"It's fine. You didn't mean it, anyway." Maneshi growled. "That brother of yours… i'll rip his head off for what he did to you."
"But…" Ryoko looked down sadly. "He and his friends are stronger than us."
"Ryoko, we'll get stronger." Manna said. "We will not let this act go unpunished." Ryoko smiled, and the rain calmed before stopping. She hugged the spirits happily, a few more tears escaping before finally stopping.
"Thank you, Manna, Maneshi…" She said before returning to the real world. She opened her eyes as Ulquiorra walked into the room with Aizen. "Aizen-sama!" Ryoko smiled and tried to move, but got a shock of pain again. 'Ngh!"
"Don't move too much, Ryoko." Aizen warned, sitting next to her on the bed. She took in his white attire and different hairstyle. She frowned and looked down.
"Aizen-sama… I…"
He raised a hand, stopping her. "It's alright. You believed your brother loved you, did you not?" She nodded.
"But it was all a lie… He was always sad that I spent more time with mommy and daddy… He probably wanted me dead… So I want him dead." She said the last part with deadly venom.
"Well now, that's something I'd never thought I'd hear from the sweet little angel." Ryoko blinked, then looked behind Aizen to Gin, who was grinning wildly.
"Gin-sama?"
"Quiet Gin." Tousen said, his arms crossed. Ryoko looked at the strange blind man. She never got too close to Kaname, though he seemed nice enough.
"Aizen-sama?" They all looked to see Ryoko looking down at the bed, clenching the sheets.
"Is something wrong?"
"I… I want to get stronger… I was able to beet Shiro— Hitsugaya, but that was because he acted blindly and in a rage. I wouldn't be able to defeat Soi-Fon or Ukitake… And the only Shikai of theirs that I've almost perfected is Suzumebachi."
"So?"
"I need to become stronger. Please, Aizen-sama!" She begged, gripping the front of his coat. "I want revenge! I wanna get back at them for hurting me! I have to get stronger!"
Aizen stared at her for a moment, then grinned and pat her shoulder. "Don't worry, Ryoko. I'll make you stronger."
~SOUL SOCIETY: SQUAD 4~
Toshiro groaned as he opened his eyes. "Captain Hitsugaya!" He looked over to see Unohana walking over to him, a worried expression on her face.
"Captain Unhoana… Where am I?" He asked, knowing it's not wise to get up.
"You're in Squad 4's medical bay. You were injured very badly. I'm surprised we were able to keep you alive." Hitsugaya frowned.
"I see…" He paused, then looked at the ceiling. "Where is Ryoko?" Unohana frowned and didn't say anything for a while. Finally, she sighed.
"She was stabbed through the stomach by Sosuke Aizen, then was taken to Hueco Mundo with them."
Toshiro's eyes widened, then narrowed, then closed. "I see… How about Momo? Is she awake?"
"She's still healing, and has woken up a few times, but hasn't stayed conscious for more than five minutes."
"Alright. How long and I staying here?"
"You have had three large cuts, two in your shoulder and one in your side. You still need to rest. It will be about two weeks." Toshiro simple nodded. When Unohana realized he won't say anything else, she turned and walked out.
Ryoko… Toshiro thought, I won't let Aizen do anything to you… I'll make sure I never break my promise again… I swear it. He didn't get any sleep that night.
~HUECO MUNDO: LAS NOCHES~
"Aizen-sama?" Ryoko asked, nervous. Aizen was leading her to Szayel's lab, and she was clutching his hand tightly like a lost child. Aizen looked down and smiles at her.
"You do want to get strong, don't you?"
"Of course I do!" She argued, turning to him.
"Yet you're too weak to get Bankai, and it takes too long for you to even do so." She frowned at that. "However…"
"What?"
He grinned at her, eyes narrowing slightly. "I can give you the power to achieve Bankai even sooner." Her eyes widened.
"Really?"
"Yes. However, you will have to take time to control this new power."
"I'll do anything!" She said, determination flaring in her eyes.
Aizen nodded. "Alright then." He said as they reached Szayel's lab. He walked over to a table and she obediently laid down on it. Szayel came over and attached cuffs to her arms and legs, waist, and forehead. She looked around confused.
"I thought you said you'd help me get stronger…?"
"I am."
"But these won't let me move."
"Exactly. We can't not restrain you during this process."
Ryoko looked worried, clenching her fists before relaxing them. Aizen-sama wouldn't hurt me… He wants to help.
"This might be a bit painful, but it will not kill you, I promise." He said. Ryoko tensed before calming down and nodding. "Ready?" She nodded again.
He took out the Hogyoku and it started to shine. He touched it to her stomach and she instantly screamed. She felt as if her stomach was burning right through, melting her skin, bones, and internal organs. The scream rang through the entirety of Las Noches, echoing off the walls. Tears leaked form her eyes, but instantly evaporated. Her skin burned to the touch. Her throat went dry and she screamed silently, her mouth open wide. Her head pounded, but got even worse as she felt something… no… three things forming on her head. She wanted to pass out, but she couldn't. The pain kept her awake. She felt her teeth and nails sharpen. The last thing that she felt was her mind burning, before she finally passed out.
Aizen moved the Hogyoku away from her stomach as the process ended. He looked at the finished product with a wide smirk. "Ryoko, you are now a part of my army." He turned and started walking, leaving her there. "Even if she wishes to go back, she cannot, because of what she now is." He turned his head slightly to look at her through the corner of his eye. "An Arrancar."
Thank to the suggestion of kaylabear1, I'm going to be doing a few extra chapters, basically to cover the two in-between arcs in the anime. It will be of Ryoko's training with Aizen, her Bankai (which I accidentally put in the profile and uploaded, but I feel you guys probably figured out her Bankai from her Shikai), and how to control this newfound powers. Hopefully you guys like, and please review!
