Hey, guys. Sorry that I haven't updated in a few weeks. I moved, and started class back up again *woo* I'll be in and out. I injured my foot (Tractor tires are not light. Just thought I'd let you know), and I'm crammed with homework, so updates will be slow for a bit *my cat is snoring. This is the most adorable thing*)
They didn't speak much the next few days as a routine set in. The only time they were near each other was when Jack would come for Ianto to give him food, occasionally to take Ianto to the bathroom, and once for Ianto to bathe. Even then, they didn't speak- Jack simply handed him his clothes and left.
It drove Jack mad. Every now and then, he wanted to reach out and rest a hand on his shoulder, but decided against it each time. Too much tension.
Finally, on the fourth day of no speaking, he broke.
As Ianto slept, Jack went to the room, and undid the chain that held the man to the floor. Ianto stirred, looking confused and drowsy. His hair stuck up in all directions, the sheets tangled around his legs and arms. "What th' hell are you doing?" he slurred, glaring.
Jack said nothing, just continued undoing the shackle. When it was off, he moved it to the side of the room, coiling it up in the corner as best he could. The key was tossed in the middle of the pile. A peace offering, Jack hoped. It was one thing that he could do.
Ianto said nothing more, simply staring. Was he free? Was the Captain letting him go? All he received in answer was Jack leaving the room- with the door wide open.
So, I know this was a short chapter, but I accomplished in it what I wanted to. Let me know what you think! Reviews and comments are always appreciated 3
