Freak On a Leash

Having calmed down a bit, Regina suddenly felt running off might not have been the best idea after all. She should have had some excuse. She should have been more careful. There were things not meant to be seen, to be known. Sure, everyone apparently already knew of her "evil and sadistic" sides, but no need to let them see the masochist in her too. No, there were absolutely no need for anyone to know how deep her scars really went, right?

Not that it mattered anyway. Nothing mattered. Nothing but Henry, and he was too young to understand such things still. So what if I enjoy a little bit of pain? Regina grumpily thought to herself, it's not that uncommon. In this world there are communities built up around the concept. It's not that bad..? And she almost laughed to herself. As if that's the worst part of my mind.

A purple cloud appeared and wrapped itself around her, and magic brought her to her secret hiding place beneath her father's grave.

She walked through the corridors of stolen hearts, and very briefly drew comfort in the rhythmic beating noise in the room. Normally the noise would calm her, but now it suddenly seemed like each heartbeat burned into her mind.

She gasped. Oh, how it hurts! As a sworn enemy, the rhythm pulsated through her veins, and she felt her feet give way beneath her. She was brought to her knees, and the pulsations made her lower her head. Time to face up to my crimes, Regina thought to herself as tears started to fall from her eyes.

As she bowed down in the middle of the room, sorrow filled her mind. Deep, melancholy coated with bitterness and regret. And when finally the sorrow started to fade through her tears, came the anger. The strong and overwhelming anger roaring inside, tearing her up with guilt and sorrow. She wanted to break apart, rip the body from her head, burst into flames.

Yet she did not. She remained completely still in surrender, bowing to the floor.

She wanted to scream, to shout, to call for the never-ending sounds of heartbeats around her to stop, but there were no words. And had she screamed, there were no one to hear, so why bother? Complaining and crying had no purpose, she knew that. "Only the weak cries", her mother's voice sounded in her mind.

Faces of her victims once more flashed before her eyes, and bowing to the ground she begged them forgiveness. Finally the lies that made her world had started to crumble, and the web of hate and anger made less sense. She knew the owners of the hearts couldn't hear her, but whispering the words out loud made some of the pain fade away.

I seriously need to ask Regina about the mirror thing though, Emma thought to herself as she tried piecing together the puzzle of what was really going on. She had a document opened on her computer, and tried to compress all the information swirling in her mind and the books beside her. "The snow queen", she typed out as she skimmed through the description from the tale once more.

"The flake of snow grew larger and larger; and at last it was like a young lady, dressed in the finest white gauze, made of a million little flakes like stars. She was so beautiful and delicate, but she was of ice, of dazzling, sparkling ice; yet she lived; her eyes gazed fixedly, like two stars; but there was neither quiet nor repose in them."

This could very well be the creature in the room, she thought as she visualized the magnificent translucent creature hovering over Reginas body. Even the looks had a somewhat similar description. She read on. ""Are you still cold?" asked she; and then she kissed his forehead. Ah! it was colder than ice; it penetrated to his very heart, which was already almost a frozen lump; it seemed to him as if he were about to die-but a moment more and it was quite congenial to him, and he did not remark the cold that was around him. "

Didn't they talk of a kiss? Emmas eyes narrowed at the thought. She had some faint memory of the words. What was it the woman had said when she first entered? Something about Regina begging her to kiss her? To take it all away? Take what away? The coldness? Why would she be that cold anyway?

As she continued, her eyes widened as she looked upon the text: ""Now you will have no more kisses," said she, "or else I should kiss you to death!"" What sort of creature is this? How can kisses possibly be deadly? It all made little sense, but as she re-played the scene in the hospital in her head, she remembered how Regina moved away from the woman's hand, how she shivered at her very touch, how panic crept into her as if tortured in front of her very eyes.

Is that why you can be so cruel, Regina? Were you truly heart-frozen? What did they do to you to make you beg for something like that? Emma sighed. She had seen quite a lot of weird shit upon entering Storybrooke, and if removing a person's heart from their body made them emotionless, maybe this "freezing" could explain how Regina could appear so unaffected by killing off people.

She had never truly been told the specifics of Reginas past, but meeting Cora had given her hints enough of how manipulated Regina must have been. She wants so bad to appear tough and in control, Emma thought, and yet she's so good at falling. She's so used to bowing down, to surrender, to lose, it's almost as if she sets herself up to fail on purpose.

But why now? Why of all times would the creature return now and not just after the curse broke? And what was it after? Emma flipped the book away from the Snow Queen and started reading the Ice-Maiden once more.

As Regina sat on the floor weeping in the middle of the room, the dust in the air swirled around her. It danced around her face whenever she breathed out, and staring at their swirling rhythm she felt herself beg inside for the final punishment of all her crimes to fall upon her. The guilt was so heavy, how could she ever cope?

She felt her anger spread through her body, her mind clouded over and the world turned black. Punish me!, She screamed loudly inside her head, I can't wait any longer, just please punish me! Finish me off. Make it all go away!

A loud noise sounded as magic shot through her and suddenly dark branches shot out from the walls. Dark, twisting branches like a shadow creeping upon her. As they approached, she threw her arms out, letting the dark branches twist around her arms and towards her body. Tighter and tighter they swirled, covering her completely, binding her down.

The shadow arms tightened around her till she tipped forward, but as her hands were kept in place by the shadow strings, she hit the floor with her face. Her breathing increased. Please, punish me! And as she willed it, the darkness chained her up from head to toe, not one inch of her body able to move. Tighter.

As she lay there immobilised, the beating of the hearts synchronised with her shallow breathing. As she forced the branches tighter around her neck, dizziness conjured up tiny star-like particles in the edges of her vision, and her body tensed up. Yes, this is it...

Beautiful stars danced across her eyes, and a sweet arousing pain shot through her body where the shade bit into her skin. Need and desire started building up, and she felt like a slave of her own invention. A slave to magic once more. Isn't it ironic?

Please take me away, kill me, let me die? But a shadow has no will on its own, and its strength could never take her away from this world. No, she would pass out long before that would ever happen. Yet right now she didn't care. Right now nothing else mattered. Time stopped.

She willed the shade to tease her slightly, tighten around her chest, her nipples, her stomach. Like a bitter kiss, the shade wrapped around her, and slipped in beneath her clothes. Goosebumps covered her body as a cold shiver spread from her back. As she tensed from the heaviness of her constraints, she bit her teeth together.

"Swosh", the sound of a barely visible branch smacking her back. "Swosh", and another smack, now placed on her ass. Shivers ran across her body, and she felt her focus shift to only the sensation across her body.

Again, she thought and the shade complied. And as the shade spanked her, the air was cut off from her lungs. The stars in front of her eyes merged with the shivers across her body, the throbbing of the hearts which she felt throughout her entire body joined with the stinging as the shade kept spanking her body.

As all the sensations blended together, her mind went into a frenzy, and she came in fluctuating waves of pleasure and pain. Don't stop me now, she thought to herself before she collapsed of exhaustion. The shade of magic was gone before she hit the floor.
