Hope you enjoy this next installment of the story. I don't own this game or Pokemon in general. Enjoy!
I went straight to Crystal Lake, although it still took a few days. I had to keep out of view of any and all Pokemon. If any of them saw me they would go berserk and attack me. Kitten would have known how to get them to love us. She had this way about her...she could do anything and get people to agree with her. Where was she...
I mean, obviously she had to be somewhere in the world of the past...but where? And when? My guess was she wasn't going to appear until further into the future because word of a human in this world would have reached my ears. I just hoped she would come find me before I fixed Temporal Tower. It would be horrible if my last moment with her were something so stressful and desperate.
Alone...I was all alone in this world. This world of the past, where the sun rose and set, the seasons changed, and death wasn't at every turn. This was supposed to be paradise, but instead it was more or less the same as the future. The whole world was still against me. There was still an impending sense of doom. And I was alone.
Apparently time had been unstable for a long time. This distortion had altered nature and the minds of Pokemon. The world was going to fall apart soon. I had to get that last Time Gear as soon as humanly possible. I made my way to the lake. It was beautiful, in a way, completely surrounded by crystal. As soon as I approached the shore Azelf surfaced...the final guardian.
"I know you. You are Grovyle the Theif! I will not let you come one step closer to the Time Gear!" he screamed, it echoed through the cavern.
"Yes. Everyone knows of me now. Which means I don't have a moment to spare. Please step aside."
"No." It looked like he was about to launch some sort of psychic attack, but before he could do that...
"Fine." I lunged and sank my claws into Azelf's side. He held his side in pain, but did not back down.
"Ugh...urgh..." he grunted in pain.
"Now I'll take it! The Time Gear!" Nobody would stop me. I walked around the struggling Azelf and approached the shore.
"No...you can't take it...Never..." Azelf's voice rang out loud and clear, and was amplified by the crystal. I could feel his force of will trying to protect his treasure. I heard some voices reflecting off the cavern walls...People following me? I looked at the shimmering water.
"Now, sunk down there...That is the Time Gear, isn't it!" I turned around. "Fine, then. Azelf, was it? I must apologize. But I must take that Time Gear." I turned back around, ready to dive.
"Ugh...wait! Hold it, Grovyle! I knew you were coming, Mesprit and Uxie told me. It would have been better to knock you out directly. But I also thought that I could possibly lose...So I set up a fail-safe system."
"What?!" No, no I had to get it! I dived into the lake...but it was too late. I dived headlong into a cover of crystal. It hurt quite a bit. I looked around...everything was covered in crystal. I attempted to break the crystal...but it was impossible. There was...no way to reach the Time Gear, and no time to get to the other ones around the world. I needed this one!
"What did you do?!" I could feel the rage burning inside of me.
"Grovyle...The Time Gear...You'll never get it now...Even in exchange for my life...You'll never..."
"Y-you! I mean to have it and I will get it!" If I could not force my way through, I would just have to FORCE Azelf to retract the crystal. "I need the Time Gear!" I tensed up. "Even if it means eliminating you, Azelf!"
"Stop!" I looked over Azelf's shoulder and saw...surprise, surprise, the Skitty and the Turtwig. The Turtwig had called for me to stop, in a much more authoritative voice than I thought he'd be capable of. They ran in between myself and Azelf. "You're not stealing another Time Gear, Grovyle!" He seemed...really and truly angry about this. He really hated me, didn't he? Ha, let him!
"I have no quarrel with you. Out of the way!" I just needed to get Azelf.
"No! I won't move!" The Turtwig said. It was the same two as before...had they gotten any better at fighting?
"Are you serious?" I took a fighting stance. "Then if you won't stand aside...You leave me with no choice! I'll knock you out first! Just try to stop me!"
I launched myself at them, brandishing a leaf blade. They knew better than that, and jumped back. As they landed, they each launched an attack, one of rings of water and one of razor sharp leaves. I was able to dodge most of the leaves, although some hit. That smarted. The water hit directly...that didn't hurt much, but...
"What? Where...?" I was completely disoriented. I couldn't see anything anywhere clearly. All of my attacks required precision...did they know that or was it just a luck guess? I started launching myself in all directions, hoping to hit something. I couldn't just wait there until it wore off. I ended up hitting something, all right. Something incredibly hard...some of it broke around me. It was the wall.
At least that knocked some sense into me. My eyes focused, and I got in a few good slashes on the Turtwig. Then...I feel unconscious. When I came to everything hurt...I could...barely get up. They...were a lot better this time around. They gathered around me...this was my chance. I lashed out, knocking them back. They both grunted in pain. I still had it. I could...still fight. The Turtwig got up and stood between Azelf and I.
"Get out of the way!" I yelled. He said nothing, but stood his ground. My face twitched. "You refuse?!" my body was tired...but something else fueled me now. "Then you leave me no choice!" I lifted my arm, ready to strike. "This is all for the Time Gear! Forgive me!"
I struck but...something caught my arm midair. There was a flash of light, and I instinctively closed my eyes.
"Stop!" a deep voice...no...nono.
"Gah!" It was. As soon as the light cleared I could see Dusknoir standing before me, his huge hand wrapped around my arm. Really? Him? Really?! I just wanted the Time Gear!
"Are you all right, Eric?" Oh, so now Dusknoir cared if anyone was hurt? Wait...Eric? "Please! Let me handle this!"
No sooner had he said this than he headbutted me ten feet back onto a crystal spike. I wouldn't cry out in pain, but noise did escape me. I managed to get to my feet.
"Y-you?!"
"It's been too long." Dusknoir said, approaching me. He enjoyed this. He thought I was cornered. In my bag...this trick never failed. "It wasn't easy finding you, Grovyle!"
"Even here..." Alone in a strange world so far away, my partner stripped of me, both worlds thought me a criminal, and now him. "You followed me even here..." I had to make myself tough though. Weakness did not become me. "You're tenacious, all right! You cling to me beyond expectation!"
"Grovyle! You're not getting away this time!"
"Dusknoir. I'm surprised to see you here in the world...But I'm ready!" I took a fighting stance. He smirked, seeing how beat up I was already.
"So you'll fight. Then so be it. But can you win, against ME!"
He lunged, but I was ready. I took an orb out of my bag and shattered it...blinding light came out. I ran and ran.
I don't know where.
