Chapter Fourteen: Fuyumi's confession and Amami's tears

One Part: Rin's Prospective

Amami was crying while she fainted; Amami use to cry all the time when we were kids, I'd find her in my bedroom curled up in a ball crying or she'd wait for me after school and tell me how sad she was and that she didn't want to be alone. Once we got in to middle school though she stopped crying and spent more time with Yukio. Somehow though I sure that I was the only she'd let see her cry.

"Amami!" Fuyumi, Shiemi and Konekomaru exclaimed at the same time.

"She'll be fine; I'm sure she just had a delayed reaction from the demons that serve as her familiars. Since she hasn't summoned them accordingly to the contracts." Shura said as she quickly grabbed a pen from her pocket and began to draw a summoning circle on Amami's right wrist.

After the circle was completed Shura used a needle to prick Amami's left pointer figure and ran the slightly bloody figure tip atop the now dried ink. In a puff of smoke a crow like creature appeared wearing a samurai's kimono in a dark green color. The demon immediately began pecking at Amami's forehead, which she responded to by opening her eyes before punching the crow demon in Shura's direction.

"Sora! I didn't summon you so attack the cow of a swordsman!" Amami yelled at the now irritated looking demon.

"Lady Amami, I am aware that Lady Shura summoned me while you were unconscious, however in accordance to the contract that you have with entire Tenuge Clan I am bond to aid you." The bird said sighing heavily.

Amami shrugged and said, "Have it your way; talk to all crows and birds in the area for a status report of the local demons. Give me a report in an hour and I'll forget that you pecked my forehead."

The crow bowed to Amami before disappearing. Amami then set her sights on Takara and Fuyumi (I wouldn't want to be them right now). Shima now seemed interested in the show playing out like a bad movie.

Part Two: Amami's Prospective

I am totally annoyed! Mephsetio did this on purpose! He knows that Fuyumi hates Takara and Takara doesn't talk without using his puppet! I was assigned this mission in order to babysit! Someone is going to pay for this! Starting with those two grudge holding idiots!

"Nemu! Fuyumi! Guess what I realized; I was put on this mission to prevent you two morons from causing a disaster! Fuyumi, you will allow Takara Nemu do his job and so help me if you don't play an active role in this mission Takara, I'll personally slice you in half. I am understood?" I said sounding totally mad at the world.

However they both nodded in a reluctant manner. Can't blame them because I basically had them pinned up against an invisible wall made of fear of those unfamiliar with my resentment of being tricked into doing something against my own will. With the of the exception of the boys (Rin and Yukio) having witnessed my reaction to when mom had enrolled in a school that had just became unisex instead of being an all boys school, when the Father Shiro had tried to get in the way of the argument of daughter vs. mother, he only got a black eye.

"Hmm, Miss. Kobayashi, please stay on task." Yukio said trying to regain control again, adjusting his glasses.

I whipped my head around and smiled brightly, "Yes, of course I am on task after all the headmaster had forbad me from not keeping unseen delays which would prevent this mission from being a total failure. So unless you would like to report that you-yourself had me not listen to the head of the Japan Branch of the True Cross Academy." I sighed and added, "Yukio, c'mon let me know if I've being disobedient."

Yukio sighed and said, "Start patrol now. I've read your files so you should be able to handle patrol."

I exhaled and took a deep breathe, "Yes, sir." Even I could tell I'm not thrilled about this order but Yukio doesn't know how badly I'd like to punch him.

I reached in to my pocket that I added to my skirt, pulled out two talisman, "I ask thee Guardians of the Wild Fields and Wild Forests come to my aid for foes unseen." That's when bite my thumb and offered the demons blood for services rendered.

In an instant there was a puff of smoke and I was knocked to the ground, "Amami! I knew that I would see you after all you are my only leash."

"Shin! Get off me! You pervert!" I ordered as the seven-tailed fox pulled me to my feet, "I've told a million times I am not marrying you!"

"I'd listen to the lady." Shura said as she drew her sword, "I mean she isn't worth dying for."

Shin just chuckled, "But the fact is she needs my help so I will play my part." As he took a step away from me so I could I look at him. He took my right hand and then brought to his lips.

The blood instantly went to my face and then I heard Bon yell, "Alright, that's enough!"

Now for the second puff of smoke finally appeared, "Lady Amami! Hisako, made come here instead of her! I'll die!" Ayame's voice filled the room with a loud scream, "She's mean!"

I sighed loudly, "Ayame, Hisako is your sister and you do need some more experience in the field. It makes sense that you do be asked to do this task besides Hisako hates working with non-clan members so I knew you would be better suited for this task." My toned sounded slightly rehearsed.

"Amami? Amami!" Rin's monotone of voice was behind me, "Who are these people?"

I slowly turned my head to the side and smiled somewhat at him, "Tell you later? Hey, have you gotten taller?" I said talking way too fast, "I mean I'm sorry."

Yeah, I might have to explain to this one to everyone. I really don't want too.

Part Three: Rin's Prospective

I blinked before walking behind Amami and saying, "Amami? Amami! Who are these are people?" I said trying not to be confused.

"Tell you later? Hey, have you gotten taller?" Amami said in a really long sentence, "I mean I'm sorry."

"Lady Amami, there's no news on anything that's been going on." The tengu Sora said as he flew back in to the room, "I fear this may have been some unknown war over territory."

Amami just shook her head, "Then the would be Pages here instead of Esquires or just Yukio would have been sent." Sighing she added, "Sora, you're with me; Ayame and Shin you two need to provide coverage in the sky and outside of the walls of this castle."

Amami headed towards the door before Shiemi volunteered to her join on patrol, "Yuki, I'll go with Amami so she has back-up."

"Amami! Seriously, earlier you were… Never mind, just let us know if you need help." I sighed trying really hard to not get angry or annoyed.

"We'll be going then. I'll call if something comes up." Shiemi said as Amami sighed before stomping her foot.

"Rin, if you're gonna get mad and yell then for the love of my sanity admit it!" Amami said as I noticed her eyes were brown again, she must be mad.

"I'm not really…" I said breathing deeply, "I mean we ain't little kids anymore." My tone sounded a bit force but truthful.

"Fine. Whatever. Lair." Amami said a little disappointed or sadden; I can't tell for sure. I watched Amami walk away with Shiemi talking energetically beside her as they made their way to start the portal.

I shook my head as I sat down, "Why is she so moody?" I mumbled to myself.

"Don't worry Mr. Okurmura, Amami just doesn't like that type of wishy-washy of men." Fuyumi Matsuoka said with encouraging tone and smile.

I turned and looked at Fuyumi; she had light brown, extremely faired skinned, and light blue eyes. Fuyumi did not seem like the type of chick who'd be talking to a guy like me then again I didn't know anything about her. I only knew her public persona that was spoiled rich girl. Very annoying which is odd because now she's the total opposite.

Shima laughed, "Wishy-washy type of men? I'd think that Amami would go for the straightforward type. I mean she always seems to along a lot better with Rin and Bon then say Teach or Konekomura. Of course she can't resist my sense of humor."

"Hey, what Amami like before she left Kyoto?" Poka-Brow (Izumo) asked Fuyumi in a calmer tone of then usual.

Fuyumi laughed a little as she thought, "Amami was fearless, a total klutz, and always in charge of almost everything situation. Weather or not she was surrounded by demons or humans she managed to get along with everyone, which is really hard to do. Her Grandfather spoiled her and Torshiro always kept well protected from evil forces of Gehenna." Fuyumi sighed, " Of course that was before... The accident."

The aurora of the room went from cheerful to intense shock. Whatever happened must have been horrible to cause everyone seem anxious to find out happened. I knew my curiosity was peeked but I couldn't help it! I mean how can give up a chance to hear about Amami before we met; it is a rare opportunity because Junko never mentation's her husband neither and Amami doesn't acknowledge her life before we met.

"What happened?" Bon and Izumo asked the same time.

"The temple was set on fire; her home was destroyed. An enemy of the Tengu clan set the mountain temple on fire. The whole temple would have been destroyed if hadn't the sacrifice of Amami and Shun, her older half-brother." Fuyumi spoke slowly as finished, "Poor Amami watched a demon kill her big brother only at the age of four."

"Wait your saying that Amami Kobayashi has a sibling?" Yukio asked with doubt coloring his usually calm tone.

"Had. Had she a brother; why didn't you know?" Fuyumi asked sounding confused, "She took all of the photo albums with her when Junko took a way. Surely she at least mentioned that fact to someone."

"Nope." I said making the "P" pop as I spoke, "Must have been too painful for her to even think about." My tone was a bit heated but that was a bombshell, a huge one at that.

"You kids are all idiots! Amami went to confession with the former Paladin so add two and two together." Takara said while his puppet was waving its arms around angrily.

"Wait, so she told Shiro Fujimoto as in the greatest Paladin ever?!" Bon asked sounding impressed but doubtful.

Fuyumi giggled, "Knowing that girl she did. Amami doesn't like to burden others with her problems so it makes that she would rely on Paladin Fujimoto's cover to keep things private between them. Although it still must have been hard for her to talk about at all." Fuyumi said sounding a bit sorrowful, "At any rate I probably spoke too much about Amami's private memories."

Everyone agreed but I wondered if it was that simple. I doubted it so I have to be careful not to mention what I heard. Of course that would not be easy at all. I must be very painful. This isn't not going too well, is it?
