R.D.D.G: Alright! Here is Chapt. 13! This one is going to be a bit longer than my other ones, since a lot goes on, on the second day of BLT. And I apologize to any of my readers who are extremely confused about the ROTC thing, if you haven't been able to tell I'm a major ROTC nerd, I made officer rank about a month ago, I'm now in charge of the admin department so on so forth, yeah, and since I'm going into my final year, I wanted to recapture some of the best moments during ROTC that I've had during my years in the program. On request by Kyuubi-ismy-homie, I will attempt to cut back on a lot of the ROTC stuff, however there are some events that I will go into great detail over; BLT is one of them as well as AMI (Annual Military Inspection), Military Ball, some drill meets/Athletic meets (since some good events take place there), some practices, some class time (for same reason as drill meets). A lot of the story is going to primarily take place either at the Valentine house, work, SOA, school or ROTC, so there are other settings to the story. I'm sorry if I've confused any of you, please message me if you have any questions I'll be glad to answer them for you, since I need the practice since I'm trying to become a Class leader myself for the upcoming school year. I have to thank my reviewers who have been with me since the beginning (and I'm extremely grateful): Kiralover44, Lord Makura, Kyuubi-ismy-homie, warandchaoshorla
Vincent and the other cadets were sleeping peacefully at 4 in the morning, the only cadet up was Cadet Presme, who had just finished his watch… at least he thought he was the only conscious cadet.
BANG! BANG! BANG! Everyone jolted awake at the sound of clanging metal. In curiosity, everyone ran towards the entrances of their "rooms"
Vincent groaned as he covered his ears. Why must they be so loud? He still had a pounding headache, and those two strange voices were talking to him again. And even then, none of Vincent's questions were answered; the voices only created more…much to Vincent's annoyance. Vincent looked around at the rest of the cadets. All of them were half-awake, and some weren't even at the entrance yet. For example, Vincent looked at Reno who was still sitting up on the bed, the red-head's legs over the edge of the bed. It made Vincent glad that he usually got up early in the mornings.
"Rise and Shine, Ladies!" Max all but shouted as he banged one of the metal shelves with a stick.
"Is that necessary?!" one of the boys from Bravo groaned in annoyance, which was followed by several yawns and groans in agreement. "I mean it's 4:00 in the morning for the God's sake!"
In response, Max walked over to the boy and hit the metal shelf right in front of him. Successfully making the boy flinch from the loud noise. "Of course it is necessary." Max answered. "It's necessary because I have to wake you boys up at 4:00 in the morning. Now hurry up and get dressed and be at the line in 5 minutes! We're cleaning up the barrack today. Since the lazy privates decided to leave it a mess…and we're doing drill today, so wear your PT gear."
More groans ensued from the tired forms, before they walked back to their bunks to change into their clothes for that day. Vincent walked over to his bedside cabinet and opened it up and grabbed his underwear, socks, hair ties, and toiletry things before grabbing his black t-shirt, and black shorts. With clothing in hand, Vincent walked over to the bathrooms which were several aisles away, and connected the empty, joined barrack next to them. This was going to be one long day.
Vincent hummed to himself as he put up his hair into his short style. Despite the fact it was going to be a long day, he was rather looking forward to it. It couldn't be worse than living with Grimore and going to that accursed company every weekend. And what's better, he didn't any nightmares last night. And in Vincent's book that is a major plus. Vincent smiled as he finished dressing himself. Oh yeah, a major plus.
However, Vincent frowned; it felt very strange not to have Rufus sleeping right beside him. To feel the older teen breathing soundly right beside him as he slept; to feel the warmth that emit itself in the usually cold room. To hear that strong heart beat its musical rhythm, like a tribal drum being pounded on again, and again. To feel smooth skin (since Rufus sometimes slept w/out a shirt) against whatever bare skin was shown on the young Valentine. To…Vincent shook his head, as a blush began to stain his cheeks once more. He's been blushing a lot lately…Damn that Rufus.
Hello, Mortal. A new voice said its voice harsh and nearly canine sounding. Vincent stopped what he was doing and quickly turned around. Who was that? Vincent turned towards the side that led to the empty barrack. Crimson eyes scanning the area warily. Then there was a coarse laughter echoing, making Vincent back away; now officially freaked.
"Who's there?" Vincent said as calmly as he could, trying not to show how spooked he actually was. One voice here and there, he could live with (slightly), but so far, counting the first voice, he's been hearing two. There was some more laughter, making the young gothic teen back away more.
What's wrong with you? the newest voice asked, it's tone drenched with amusement. You seem as though you've seen a ghost…what are you scared for?
Why the hell do you think he's scared? the second voice asked. Honestly, you are one of the most ignorant…
Not my fault. The third voice all but whined. I'm hungry, I need some blood. Damn it! Where the hell can I find some blood around here?! I swear if I don't sate this hunger soon, there might just be a bloodbath!
Vincent's eyes widened as he sank to the floor. These voices ate blood? A bloodbath?! Unwillingly memories of his mother's murder began to play through Vincent's head. There was a lot of blood that night…Vincent held his head as he brought his knees up to his chest, and rested his forehead on his knees. Something seemed to sympathize with him, because he began to feel waves of soothing vibes make its way through his body.
Now look what you've done, you idiot. Vincent easily recognized the first voice. You've scared him.
Good work… the second voice said sarcastically.
What? What I said was the truth. There will be a bloodbath unless I get some blood and soon. The third voice said defensively. I know for a fact that you guys feel the same way.
"Vincent." Sephiroth frowned as he stared at the crouched form of his friend. It was obvious that Vincent didn't hear him. Sephiroth looked around, hoping that no one was around for Vincent's sake. The boy liked to carry the façade that nothing seemed to bother him…if anyone saw him like this… Sephiroth shook his head as he kneeled beside the younger freshman. "Vincent…" still no response. The silence made Sephiroth frown. Looking at his watch, he saw that they only had three minutes left to go until they had to get on the line. Luckily enough Vincent was already fully dressed. "Vincent, are you okay?" The silver-haired teen placed a hand on the Goth's shoulder.
That seemed to draw a reaction from the younger teen, because he jumped at the slight touch on his shoulder. It took a moment for the teen to notice who was kneeling right beside him. "Sephiroth?"
"Hey, you okay?" Sephiroth asked concern dripping in his tone. He and the rest of the gang knew that he went to the company for the last couple of days…the question was…what the hell did Grimore and his father do to him? The silver-haired teen studied the raven-headed teen carefully. As usual he was sickly looking; though it had gotten better over last night's sleep…he seemed pained.
"I'm fine…" Vincent said quietly as he moved to stand up, but Sephiroth held him down.
"No lying to me, Vince." Sephiroth said in a concerned/stern voice. Sephiroth knew the boy long enough to see right through his facades…huh…guess those acting lessons they shared paid off for something. Sephiroth noticed the reluctant look in those crimson orbs. "What did they do to you?"
Vincent stood up before his friend could stop him. "We need to get back." He said, completely changing the subject. He didn't want to tell Sephiroth about the labs, and he sure as hell didn't want to worry him about the fact that he is hearing blood-thirsty voices and might be crazy. With that he grabbed his stuff and walked out of the bathroom.
Sephiroth stared at the young teen worriedly before he too walked out of the bathroom. He didn't want to get into trouble on the first day. Though he and the rest of the gang (Rufus included, though slightly) were going to have a chat when they had free time.
Sephiroth noticed Vincent place his cheerful façade back on the moment they stepped into the bustling barracks. Cadets quickly, and some hectically, dressing themselves to make the 5 minute deadline. If it's like this for the boys, then it must be ten times worse for the girls.
It took a couple of hours to clean the barracks, each person dealing with their own bunk and some doing the bathrooms and the hall. As they cleaned, several cadets found porno magazines in their room, and almost everyone found alcohol bottles in theirs. Though those with the porno magazines never shared it with the DI's and especially not Commander or Senior Chief. They hid it under the bed to read it later that night.
Sephiroth had filled in Cloud, Reeve, and Reno about what had happened in the bathroom; which put the group into vigilant mother hen mode. They didn't go into full mother hen mode so that way it didn't draw attention to the young Valentine. The last thing any of them wanted was unnecessary attention. That and word could leak to Grimore and Vincent would be in a shit load of trouble.
Sephiroth had also told Rufus to keep an eye on Vincent, since they were sharing the same bunk. The young Shinra agreed without hesitation. A part of him pleased; pleased at the fact that Vincent's friends seem to be starting to trust him. They wouldn't have asked him to keep an eye on Vincent otherwise. Ocean blue eyes scanned the barracks until he saw the familiar raven haired teen, who was sweeping the back of the barracks, with cadet Jec. Jec was trying to get a conversation started with the young Valentine, who talked occasionally. Rufus smiled, it was nice to see Vincent interact with people more. In September he would barely talk to anyone, aside from the group, unless it was absolutely necessary. Now, he was starting to talk to others, even if it was to be nice.
Rufus knew Cadet Jec, since the young freshman was in his old class; he was a good kid. Who knows, maybe they'll become friends as well. Rufus looked away from the two teens, he'll leave them to talk for a little bit…for now, Blue orbs gazed around once more. He had a red-head to recruit.
Vincent swept the nearly non-existent dirt from the faded gray floors. He honestly couldn't see the reason why they had to sweep anyway. If there was dust and stuff on the ground, it wasn't noticeable; and besides everyone wore their shoes inside the barracks. His sweeping partner Jec agreed with him. Vincent mentally sighed as he tried to get under one of the beds and get the dust from under there. Jec was a persistent talker, for the last ten minutes, the teen had been talking to Vincent and tried to get him to respond.
Vincent wasn't really in the mood for conversation, especially after what happened in the bathroom…but to appease the freshman he talked a little. Luckily enough the teen was in Bravo platoon. Even though he barely spoke, that was just fine with Jec. He was talking about anything, and just about everything, that came to mind as he swept. That kid must be bored. Vincent thought to himself as he grabbed the dust bin from the nearby cabinet. This was going to be awhile.
After another ten minutes of sweeping and Jec talking, they were done with sweeping and the two quickly placed the brooms in their respected areas, before joining everyone else.
As Vincent walked back over to his and Rufus' bunk, he noticed the blonde talking with Reno. Both of their faces were serious, and worried. It almost made Vincent curious as to what they were talking about, but whatever it was it was their own business. Walking over to his bed, Vincent went underneath, so that way he could get those hospital corners out of the way. Those were a pain in the butt to do. Lucky enough, Rufus warned him earlier that those were required.
"Hey, do ya need any help?" Vincent nearly hit his head on the metal bottom of his bed. Pulling himself out, he saw Rufus kneeling next to him.
"I've got it."
Rufus looked at the hospital corners. Apparently Vincent had never been to a hospital. "You do?" Rufus asked looking back to the freshman before him.
"Yes." Was the determined answer.
Rufus smirked as he leaned closer to Vincent. A knowing look in those ocean blue orbs that nearly made Vincent doubt himself…nearly. "I would believe you, if it wasn't for the fact that these," he motioned to the corners, "are not hospital corners." Rufus moved away from Vincent and towards the corner near the head of the bed. "Come here." Vincent complied as he moved to sit next to the Shinra. "This is how you do a hospital corner." Rufus undid the sheets at that corner and expertly made a hospital corner, with one side of the sheet overlapping the other. "After you've done that," Rufus said moving so that he could go under the bed. "You tighten it up underneath the bed." Vincent followed him, and watched as the blonde beside him pulled the sheets so that they were wrapped between the metal bed frame and pulled tightly. After crawling out from under the bed, Rufus beamed proudly as he motioned for the younger teen beside him to look at the now tightly neat corner; the crease obvious and precise.
Rufus looked over to Vincent who was still staring at the corner. Those crimson orbs that Rufus enjoyed looking at nearly filled with awe. Rufus smiled as he leaned over to Vincent, making the teen turn his crimson gaze to the blonde. Their faces were close to touching, and Rufus did a mental victory dance when he saw a blush staining the freshman's face. Score 1 for the DI.
"Let's see you do one." Rufus said moving his face away from Vincent's as he moved over near the other corner.
Vincent was broken from his shock, and quickly moved over to sit in front of the other corner. A blush still staining his face. Staring at the sheets, Vincent took the corners just as he had seen Rufus, and tried to make the sheet go into the shape Rufus had done so easily. It failed.
Vincent tried again several more times, but each try ended the same as it did the first. The young Valentine glared at the stubborn sheet. Apparently the sheet didn't like him. Damn it…
Rufus smirked as he watched the younger try it again and again, but each time to no avail. "Do you need help, Lil' un?" He asked using Reeve's nickname for the teen.
"Don't call me that." Vincent said in annoyance, and then added, "And no I don't. I've got it." Major Lie reporting for duty once more; since he had no idea what the hell he was doing.
Rufus shook his head, as he watched Vincent fail once more at making a hospital corner. He was able to see through Vincent's little lie. Without a second thought, Rufus moved so that he was sitting right behind the young Valentine.
Vincent tensed immediately after feeling Rufus move to sit right behind him. What the hell is he doing? Vincent wondered, his blush becoming another shade darker. Even more so, when he felt Rufus move so that he was holding on to both of Vincent's hands.
"You have no idea, what you're doing." Rufus whispered into the raven-headed teen's ear. "Here…let me help." Without moving his face from its place near Vincent's neck and ear, Rufus moved Vincent's hands to make a hospital corner.
Vincent closed his eyes and blushed madly as the blonde controlled his hands. The blonde's, slightly bigger hands nearly covering his completely. And so smooth as well…NO! Vincent reprimanded himself. I do not like Rufus that way! I'm not gay! Vincent jumped when he felt a pair of soft lips touch his neck lightly. Unable to blush into any deeper shades, Vincent looked away embarrassedly. But by the Gods, why does it feel so good?
Rufus noticed the teen look away and smirked against the pale skin of the younger's neck. "You know you should watch," he said, "You need to know how to do this." Once more he gently placed his lips against pale skin.
Vincent slowly opened his eyes, and turned his crimson gaze back towards the sheets; trying his hardest to ignore the Vet behind him. But that was near impossible with the teen gently kissing his neck.
As soon as it started, it seemed to end to Vincent; Rufus released the younger's hands and moved to sit beside him. Rufus motioned for the younger to follow, before going underneath the bed. Sighing Vincent followed the older teen's lead. Settling right beside the blonde, Rufus began instruct Vincent on how to tie off the sheets. Deciding to keep to himself, no need to over-due it since he had already made the teen blush till he looked like a tomato. Time to be nice. After a few more minutes Vincent was done tying off the sheets and looked at Rufus for confirmation that it was done correctly.
Rufus nodded. "There you go," He said as they pulled themselves out from underneath the bed. "That is how you do hospital corners."
Oh is the neck kissing part of it too? Vincent thought as he narrowed his eyes at the blonde beside him in annoyance. "Oh…" that was all Vincent could say then looked towards the hallways. Deciding to let this event slide for now…Vincent watched as some of the other cadets walked past; how many of the other freshmen from their platoon know how to do this?
Vincent voiced this to Rufus whose brow furrowed in thought. "You're right…" he said before looking at the beautiful face he came to enjoy staring at, "Vincent, can you get Alpha Platoon and bring them in here?"
Vincent nodded before he stood up and left the blonde on his own, so that he may hunt down those tricky Martha Stewarts. As Vincent realized earlier, it was a bit hard to find them. They must have been part Ninja or something.
The day past by slowly and just as the cadets were giving up hope, lunch time finally arrived.
As the boys were placing the last finishing touches on their barracks, there was a knock on their door. Max opened it to show Jen behind the wooden/metallic object. Blocking the girl's view, he called over his shoulder. "Woman on deck!"
"All clear!" Came the echo from all the boys, who had paused from what they were doing. Nodding Max moved over to let Jen through.
Nodding her head in thanks, she turned towards Max and whispered something in his ear. Max nodded as well before turning to face the boys. Jen sneaking back out towards her own. "Attention on Deck!" Everyone quickly moved to stand on the line facing the IO (inspection officer). "Fall out outside in your respected platoons. Fall out!" everyone stepped back and nearly shouted, "Aye Sir!"
Vincent sighed as he, Reno, and Rufus walked outside, Vincent still slightly annoyed with the older blonde, Reno trying to get the Vincent to talk to him, and Rufus was smirking in victory.
The sky was filled with dark clouds as the platoons formed up awaiting the okay to head over to the chow hall for lunch. More than once did the young ROTC seadogs see Burmecian privates, and other military-men look at them with raised eyebrows before they turned to whoever they were walking with and laughed while walking away.
"That's not very nice," Vincent heard Cadet Bell say next to him as they stood at rest awaiting for their DI/PC to give them their commands. Vincent being the second person in the first squad (row)
"Life's not nice," Vincent told her without even sparing her a glance, as he looked up at the sky. "You'd better get used to it, Bell." It was dark, and cloudy, perfect for Vincent's mood today. The hair on the back of Vincent's head stood on end as he felt of pair of eyes stare at him from his left.
"Well. How optimistic of you, Valentine." Bell snapped in annoyance.
Now at this Vincent looked down from the sky and looked at her. "It is not my job to be optimistic." Vincent said his face devoid of any emotion, before pointing at Reno, who was a couple people away on his right, "that's his job."
"Well you should learn to be." Bell said to him, "It's no wonder no one wants to hang out with you." Vincent looked in front of him again, "you're a weird Goth that no one wants to be around…You're a freak, Valentine."
The only reply to that was a grunt, a sad look entering crimson orbs as Vincent looked away, knowing that the conversation with the girl was pointless. Although…Vincent thought, she did have a point…he was a freak. A freak anyone had the misfortune of meeting.
That's all I am. Vincent thought sadly, and that's all I'll ever be…
That's not true." The first voice said. "You are not a freak.
And yet, I hear you talking in my head. Vincent thought towards the voice in annoyance. No ordinary person could hear voices like this in their heads…Damn Grimore…Damn Hojo…Damn Shinra Company! And I'm talking back! Just great. How can things get worse?
Just as that thought crossed his mind, the clouds decided then to release their load, and it began to downpour onto the unsuspecting cadets. Vincent sighed as everyone rushed back into their barracks, him taking a little longer. The weather was doing a really good job at showing emotions today. Vincent sighed as he neared the entrance to the boy's barrack, but for some reason he stopped and looked at the sky. Enjoying the feeling of the cool wet droplets land on his face, almost as if they were taking his troubles with them as they descended down his body and to the ground.
His moment was short-lived when he felt someone grab his arms and drag him over towards the barracks, much to his dismay. Looking up, Vincent saw that the hands belong to none other than Rufus. The blonde's left arm wrapped around his shoulders to be able to grasp the raven's left arm. Rufus' hands having a slightly firm grip, despite the fact that Vincent wasn't even struggling. After they got inside, Rufus looked at Vincent who was almost totally soaked. "Do you want to catch your death of cold?" he asked as they walked back over to their bunks.
Maybe…Vincent thought as he grabbed his black towels from his bag. So that he could dry off. Pulling his hair down so he could dry it better, Vincent wrapped the towel around his head and twisted the fabric so that it would ring out the moister from his raven locks.
"When are we heading over to lunch?" one of the boy's from Charlie asked Max as they waited for a plan of action.
"We'll be heading over soon." Max said. "Michael went with Senior Chief and Commander to get something real fast. Until they get back, get back with your platoons, the girls will be coming over here to wait with us. DIs you could use this time to teach your platoon some jodis."
"Sir." With that, Rufus stood and walked over to the aisle. "All right! All Alpha males over here."
The other Martha Stewarts complied and walked over to the bunk Vincent and Rufus shared. All of them taking a seat on the floor. "When the girls arrive, I'll teach you guys some basic jodis that we'll be doing through out the course of the BLT." Rufus said as he took a seat next to the two metal dressers near the wall. "Then I will teach you one that I personally made up. Sound like a game plan?"
"Yes Sir!" Rufus smiled and nodded. "So, what do you guys think of the unit so far?"
They got into a lengthy discussion about the unit, all the boys having positive comments, except for maybe one (not vinny), who was a big pervert. It did not take long for the females to arrive, when everyone was settled in their platoons, Rufus looked over his platoon, Kia taking a seat next to Vincent. Her long, brown hair pulled from its bun due to the rain, and now stuck to her neck and exposed upper arm.
"Did we miss anything?" Kia asked as the girls situated themselves among the boys.
"Not really," Rufus answered. "Just waiting for you ladies to show up, so we can learn some jodis."
Kia's eyes lit up with interest. "Which ones?" she asked cheerfully.
"Motivation Check, Hip-Hop Lolly Pop, They say that in the Navy…the basics," Rufus shrugged. "And I'd thought I'd share the one I made up the other day."
Kia smiled. "Great! Let's get started then, we want to beat the other platoon's to the punch right?" She looked at everyone, who nodded in agreement.
Rufus smiled and began to teach Alpha through each of the jodis. Reno being the loudest and most obnoxious of the bunch; which made Vincent who was sitting beside the red-head shake head. That was Reno for ya.
Vincent gave a small smile himself as they practiced Motivation check, these were actually quite fun; the young teen predicted that he would have these stuck in his head, long after this was over with. Hip-Hop Lolly Pop didn't have much that needed to be memorized since all the actual words belonged to the person starting it; which in their case would be either Rufus or Kia.
It was about 12:30 when Senior Chief, Commander, and Michael walked into the barracks. "Attention on Deck!" Everyone quickly moved towards the aisle once more. "Eyes!"
"Snap Sir!"
"Ears!"
"Open Sir!"
Michael's gaze scanned over all of the cadets before looking over at Senior Chief, who was standing beside him with a large roll of large, black trash bags. "They're yours, Senior Chief." He said backing away over to Max and Jen who was sitting near the entrance to the barracks.
"Okay, I want all of you to line up and grab a trash bag," Senior Chief said, "once you get your bag, make holes in it big enough for your head and arms; then quickly get it on then we'll go to lunch." Everyone complied as they lined up to grab a bag; there were numerous murmurs, which Vincent decided to ignore, since it was all the same thing repeated.
"We're going to be marching in the rain?!", and "you've got to be kidding me!" were some of the more common of the complaints. Vincent huffed, he didn't particularly care as long as he could walk in the rain he was fine. For some reason he was in the mood for it.
"Don't forget your ball-caps." Jen called out as she and the other three made their make-shift ponchos and put them on.
It wasn't long before everyone was ready to go to the chow hall, all of them dressed in their ponchos and ball caps. Heading back outside into the rain, they fell back into their platoons.
"Company by my Command!" Michael said in a loud voice so that way he could be heard over the rain. "Right…Face!" the company complied. "Company forward!"
"Alpha Platoon, forward!" Rufus yelled.
"Bravo Platoon, forward!" Philips yelled behind them.
"Charlie Platoon, forward!" Shiro shouted behind Phillips.
"Staff Platoon, forward!" Staff's DI shouted near the back.
Michael paused for a moment before he shouted, "March!"
Everyone stepped forward on the left foot, all their gazes facing the head in front of them, the rain pounding on them as they marched.
Vincent smiled slightly as they marched, the rain felt really good.
Through the pounding rain the four platoons marched all of them hungry and drenched with the exception of the parts hidden by their trash bag ponchos. None of them were worried about the three big honchos (Michael, Jen, or Max) trying to steal their guidons since the rain was beating against them pretty hard, even after about thirty or so minutes there were already large puddles. The only voice that the cadets heard, was Michael shouting out, "Left…Left…Left, right…" so that they would stay on step; though occasionally shouting "Get back in step!" whenever he noticed that some cadets weren't.
It was only a ten minute walk from their barracks to the chow hall, after coming to a halt in front of the entrance; they posted their guidons on the front of the building before they walked inside. Alpha entering before everyone else (besides Staff…jerks)
Upon entering, it took another ten or so minutes to wait in line and get their food. Just like the night before after they got their food, they placed their trays on an empty table and stood at attention until their table was filled before sitting down to eat. No one talking except the residents of Burmecia.
Vincent mentally sighed as he got his water and walked over to another empty booth that was big enough to fit six people, since all of the tables were taken, and placing his tray down on the inside he stood at attention, as he waited for people to sit with him. He really wanted to eat.
Everyone ignored him as they rushed past to sit with their friends, Reno and Rufus had to talk to Senior Chief so they weren't with the rest of Alpha platoon as they got their food. Reeve walked over to him after he got his water. Sephiroth, Vincent noticed, had to stay behind and talk with Senior Chief as well, or else he would have been right next to Reeve. Reeve gave him a small smile as he stood at attention in front of him. Cloud came over next and placed his tray next to Vincent's before joining the two at standing at attention.
Finally, Rufus, Reno, and Sephiroth arrived at their table and the group sat down to eat.
Lunch took about forty or so minutes before they all stood to leave chow. Guidons took back up their respected guidon and the platoons fell in, in front of their DIs, and began the march towards a local gym so that they could learn and practice basic drill.
Once there, the DIs, and ADIs (again except Staff which wandered around and helped out where they could) took their platoons to different corners to teach them the basics. Vincent and Reno took to the basics of drill pretty easily, though Vincent was having a bit of trouble when it came to column rights/lefts and the whole platoon had a problem with right/left oblique. After they got the basics down, Rufus and Kia began to teach them how to command a squad. Rufus taking half of the platoon, and Kia taking the other half; Reno and Vincent having to go with Kia.
And so training went; each cadet taking a turn to command the squad around while Kia watched them and pointed out helpful hints to help them get better. It was Reno's turn to command and he ran the squad into not only the wall, but Rufus' squad several times and nearly ran them into Bravo's squad.
Once Reno was finished, Kia looked at her half of Alpha and smiled. "Well, needless to say let's not trust Henjin if we're anywhere near a cliff, Ne?" She asked good-naturedly which got several snickers (including from Reno). "But that was good for a first time," She continued looking at the red-head who stood beside her, till she said otherwise. "You'll get the hang of it after awhile trust me; it took me almost a year to get it down."
"It's gonna be a lot longer for Reno there," Vincent said loud enough for the two in front of him to hear a smirk on his face. Reno threw him a Raspberry, before beaming towards the Raven knowing he only meant it as a joke.
Kia also smirked. "Well, since you think you're confident, why don't you try Valentine?" That made the smirk on Vincent's face fall. He didn't want to go up there and command the platoon. He was more than content with staying in the squad.
"It's okay…" Vincent said quietly. "I'm fine here."
Reno shook his head as he pulled the younger teen out of the squad. "Come on now, Vinny, we all had our turn. It's yours now."
After getting the raven-haired teen in front of the squad, Reno walked towards the end of it and stood at attention, a smile on his face. Vincent shrank back slightly as he felt his group stare at him.
"What's the matter?" Bell mocked. "Scared?"
"Hey leave him alone, Yo!" Reno said in Vincent's defense, which made the teen smile slightly.
"Squad, by my command…Attention!" Vincent said and the squad went straight to attention.
"You're going to need to speak up, Vincent." Kia said smiling. Vincent looked at her and nodded.
"Right…face." They turned right. "Left…face." They turned left. "About…face." They turned around completely, so that they were facing Vincent once more.
"Why don't you march them around for a bit?" Kia encouraged.
Another nod. "Right…face." Once more they turned right. "Forward…march." The squad and Vincent began to march, the young Valentine calling cadence as they did so. As they approached a wall, "to the rear…march." They turned around and continued marching. Vincent gave a couple more 'to the rears', a couple column rights/lefts, before he halted the squad. He had run them into a wall a couple of times, though not as many times as Reno, but he called a lot of the stuff on the wrong foot.
"Very good, Valentine." Kia said. "Still need to work on calling the commands on the right foot but other than that it was pretty good."
"Thanks…" Vincent muttered quietly before he walked over and stood next to Reno. Not wanting to speak for a little bit.
Kia had them practice more of the basics before they were called over to fall in. It was now time to leave so that they could prepare for inspection.
Grabbing their ponchos from the benches they quickly placed them back over their heads. All of them resisting the urge to throw the water droplets that remained on the black plastic at their fellow cadets. Vincent sighed as he looked around for a clock. He spotted one behind one of the basketball hops. 3:56 they had been there for about two or three hours…fun.
Silently they marched once more through the rain, though after being in a hot, sweaty gym for three hours, it felt like heaven to be hit with the cool droplets; making Vincent glad at the fact that he was wearing shorts.
As they trekked through some puddles, Michael decided to be a jerk and snuck behind Alpha platoon till he was on the side of the guide-on. Despite the rain pouring over his head, he snuck as silent as one can through puddles of water. Till he was within range of the guidon.
"Martha Stewart is in danger!" Several cadets in third squad exclaimed without looking away from the back of the person in front of them.
Vincent could see Reno move the guidon when Michael decided to strike, but the teen was too fast for the young freshman. Running away with the guidon, Michael beamed towards Alpha before he took the flag and tied it around his neck like a very small cape (the biggest of the guidons being Staffs since it is the actual unit's guidon.).
There were groans from Alpha platoon as Michael walked away smiling in glee at the prospect of taking one of the platoon's guidons, leaving Reno the staff in which it hung from. Vincent sighed. This was not going to be a good night, he could tell.
It's going to get better. The first voice said trying to cheer up the young Valentine, at least that was what he thought it was doing.
Yeah right. Vincent thought bitterly, still shocked that he was still talking back to these strange voices. It'll get better the day Grimore grows a heart…and why am I talking to you? Ignoring any complaints the strange voice had, Vincent began to hum "Lithium" in his head while they marched.
Michael decided to be even meaner, "Double-time…March!" Everyone began to jog while staying in step; which proved trouble some for a lot of the freshmen. "Hip-hop lolly pop, let me hear your left foot drop,"
"Ah-oh!" everyone (cept Michael) grunted as their left foot hit the ground.
"A little louder…"
"Ah-oh!"
"A little prouder…"
"Ah-oh!"
"Sounds so sweet sound so fine; let me hear it four more times!"
"Ah-oh!...Ah-oh!...Ah-oh!...Ah-oh!" They all grunted in annoyance as they jogged.
"Ding-dong diddly do; let me hear that right foot too,"
"Ah-oh!"
"A little louder…"
"Ah-oh!"
"A little prouder…"
"Ah-oh!"
"Sounds so sweet sound so fine; let me hear it for the rest of the time!"
The company continued to jog, though grunting each time their right foot hit the ground, after a few minutes they began to get tired and since they were losing their breath due to the stupid grunting it wore them out quicker.
"Michael." Jen said jogging beside him, "knock it off."
"Fine, quick-time…march!" the company slowed down till they were marching normally, nearly everyone besides a few of the vets, and those on sports teams, were taking deep, deep breaths. Michael looked over at Jen. "Happy now, Chesire?"
"Quite." Jen said before walking away from Michael, though not without taking the guidon that the boy was using for a little cape and placed it over her arm. "Aren't you a bit old to play super-hero?"
"Never too old." Michael replied towards her retreating form. "Dang girlfriends..." he grumbled under his breath. "They take away all the fun…"
When they returned they all took off their soaking wet ball-caps and walked wearily to their bunks. They all wanted to dry off and rest a bit, at least before the inspection that night. Upon walking into his bunk, Vincent grabbed a towel and plopped onto the concrete floor. Reno and Rufus joining him while Sephiroth, Reeve and Cloud went to get their own towels before they came back.
Reno sighed as he plopped down next to Vincent. "man," he said, "I can't believe that that jerk took our guidon. It's pouring out there, and none of the others went after the Baked Potato's or Pretty Princess'."
Vincent and Rufus nodded in agreement. "I wonder what he's going to have us do in order to get it back…" Rufus said.
"What do they usually do?" Vincent asked as he towel-dried his hair, which was now down; the wet locks framing the younger's face, while clinging to the skin.
Rufus shrugged, as he placed the towel around his neck. "It varies, sometimes they'll ask a really random question; other times they'll have some people from the platoon do chain push-ups and not many people can do it. I remember one year when they held an arm wrestling competition."
Both Vincent and Reno cursed. If Michael was going to be the one choosing what they were going to do, they may as well never see their guidon again during the duration of the trip. Speaking of Michael…
"What the hell is up with that kid, yo?" Reno asked crossing his arms over his chest. "Making us jog like that in the pounding rain, and for what? His own amusement? I nearly lost my footing and was about to fall on my face like what three times! And that prick's sitting on the side just smiling in glee! I swear that prick is twisted."
"At least Jen was there," Vincent said placing a hand on his friend's shoulder to calm him down before he got them into trouble. Rufus nodded in agreement.
"Michael arrived in the unit a year and a half ago," Rufus said. "he's always been a jerk, though a lot of vets are shocked he even made CO, he's a bit worse than Kyofu with the exception that he doesn't jump every person he sees and tries to rape them…At least his girlfriend's sensible…" the two nodded. "Though I do have to agree with Reno, that boy is twisted."
"Thank you!" Reno nearly exclaimed, before resting his head in his right hand; which was propped up against leg. "Man, too bad we can't use our cell phones…I miss Rude."
Vincent looked at Reno in understanding. They weren't allowed to bring any electrical devices except their cell phone for when they need to get a hold of their parents so that they can give them the time for the graduation… Rude and Reno came clean about their relationship (though slightly on the first day of school) a couple of weeks ago. The two were nearly inseparable…nearly. Vincent placed a comforting hand on Reno's shoulder. "It's only for a couple of days, Reno," Vincent said, "we'll be back home soon enough."
Reno smiled and placed a hand on Vin's. "Thanks, ototo-chan," Reno said, before wrapping an arm around Vincent's neck and giving him a noogie. "Now we just need to find someone for you, yo!"
"No you don't." Vincent said after he got out of Reno's grip. "I'm better off alone, Reno…"
"That's utter bull-shit, yo!" Reno said pulling Vincent back into a head-lock. "No one should be alone. Not even you, Vinny. We're going to find someone for you, whether you like it or not…understand?"
Unable to do much of anything else, Vincent nodded. Once the red-head's mind was set on something then damn it he was going to do it; and if he couldn't do it then damn it he was going to give it one hell of a shot.
"We need to get ready for the inspection." Rufus said interrupting the two. "Reno, Vincent get the Alpha boys ready." Nodding Reno released Vincent and they walked out of the bunk. Rufus sighed as he straightened up his and Vincent's barrack from the bags and towels. Rufus checked their barrack, before moving to check the others. Wanting to make sure that they were all good, before the inspectors of doom arrived.
Rufus cringed, hoping to any God or Goddess that would listen that they didn't get Michael as their inspector during this trip. The guy's already got it out for Alpha, (well anybody really, but still). One by one, Rufus checked out the bunks of the boys in Alpha platoon. So far everything looked ship-shape, with the exception of a few minor details here and there, but those were easily fixable.
The shirts were folded correctly; the belts, underwear, shoe polish, brasso were in their appropriate places; the hospital corners looked good, and the beds were neatly made; their uniforms were hung up correctly with space in between each hanger to be able to fit two fingers. Everything was in place, Rufus sighed in relief. Now let's just see how this shall work out.
"Stay near your bunks," he ordered to the nervous boys. "They should be showing up soon. Remember, under no circumstances, do not lock your knees, I don't care how nervous you are. Do not lock them, unless you want to lose consciousness. There will be some members of staff platoon checking up on you guys all right?"
"Sir!" Alpha began to look at each other nervously.
"Always keep your bearing," Rufus continued, "remain calm, and relax; everything looks fine. And if one of your ship mates seems to be uneasy on his feet, like he's about to pass out, then do not let them hit the deck."
As those words passed his lips, the three returned from the female barracks. "Attention on deck!" Michael all but yelled; and everyone rushed over to stand in front of their bunks. "Cadet/Lt Jen will be inspecting Alpha platoon…" all of Alpha mentally sighed in relief. "I shall be inspecting Bravo Platoon, and Cadet/LtJG Max shall be inspecting Charlie platoon." With that he looked towards the other two, who nodded before they walked over to their platoons and began inspection.
Time seemed to pass slowly for the cadets as the OIC, AOIC, and IO went through each cadet's barrack. Vincent looked over towards Reno, who was looking around subtly and nervously; which did nothing to help Vincent with his own.
As he waited he heard a loud yawn in his head; followed shortly by, Good morning everyone, what'd I miss?
Nothing much, just dumbass over here being the same as usual. The second voice answered.
HEY I'm not being that bad! The third voice yelled rather loudly in Vincent's mind, successfully making him flinch slightly.
You scared the shit out of Vincent, the second voice retorted. How's that not bad? Ever since you woke up you've been ranting about how hungry you are and how much you want/need blood.
Has he now? The fourth voice asked in an unamused tone. Apparently it was always like this with the third voice. What the hell is wrong with you? You should have seen his memories from when he was younger, idiot…
Hey, you just woke up!
Vincent heard the first voice sigh. Will you three knock it off?
As soon as dumbass stops being well himself…
But if that happened then it would be the end of the world.
True…
Ah fuck you bastards! The third voice yelled angrily, once more echoing against Vincent's already pounding head. Not exactly helping his headache out any. At least I'll admit to the fact that I'm hungry! I say it how it is…sue me!
All right… The fourth voice said. Heywinged one, weren't you a lawyer?
No. the first one answered. But I did pick up a few things over the last several weeks. Now you need to calm yourself down.
But I'm starving! The third one whined. The human in front of us looks tasty…
Vincent's eyes widened slightly. The voice wanted to eat his friend…what the hell?!
No. The first voice said, apparently noticing Vincent's fear. The human is one of Vincent's friends. You are not to eat him.
But he looks so tasty!
No. the first voice ordered, this time more authority than before.
Sucks to be you dumbass. The Fourth voice said in an amused tone
Kiss my furry ass. The third retorted
No one in their right mind would ever want to do that.
That's what I thought…anyways, if I can't eat the red-head, then who can I eat? I'm hungry.
Well maybe if you'd shut up and stop scaring Vincent then we could see if we can find something for you to eat, until then shut the fuck up.
Anyone want pie? The second voice asked in an obvious attempt to lighten the mood.
No one wants any damn pie! The third voice snapped. Pie is not going to sate this hunger…grrrr…DAMN IT I'M HUNGRY!!!
Vincent began to tremble slightly at the conversation between the four voices. If it wasn't creepy enough that the voices ate blood, it was still creepy at the fact that Vincent could hear them in his head. Why him? Why did he have to be the insane one? As Vincent listened to the conversations, well actually he tried to ignore them but they were talking pretty loudly so he had no say in the matter. The voices were talking so loud, that Vincent never noticed Jen walked to stand in front of him.
"How are you doing today, cadet?" Jen asked.
Vincent heard a female voice but assumed that it was another one of the strange voices that had been plaguing him throughout the day. After coming to that conclusion, and more loud arguments from the four voices, Vincent said rather loudly, "Shut up!" Damn it he was tired of those voices, can't they just leave him alone.
That seemed to shut up the voices as well as anyone else who was in the barracks. Young one, the first voice said, there aren't any females among us, it is only us four.
What?! If she's not with you…then that means… Vincent's eyes widened as he looked up and noticed the shocked look on Jen's face. Oh shit now he had done it. "By the Gods…" Vincent murmured. "Ma'am I'm sorry! I didn't mean to…" Vincent was cut off from what he was going to say next when Michael stormed over to the Alpha territory.
"Who the hell told my girlfriend to shut up?!" He asked enraged. All of the Alpha boys, aside from Rufus and Reno, pointed to Vincent, who looked at the older male with a frightened look. Glaring at the young Valentine, Michael walked briskly over to him. "What the hell is wrong with you, cadet?" he snapped at Vincent.
"I'm sorry…" Vincent said. "I didn't realize that…"
"That what?"
"Sir," the three looked over at Rufus, who had turned to face them. "Cadet Valentine has been with his father to train for the last four days at the Shinra Company." The young Shinra explained. "He was complaining about a headache earlier and also about how he could still hear his father's lectures."
Vincent stared at Rufus; shocked to all hell that the blonde was lying to the CO's face…well at least stating the half truth anyways…Michael turned his angry gaze back to Vincent who shrank back. "Is this true, Valentine?" He demanded
Vincent nodded. "Sir, yes sir." He answered. "I did not realize that Cadet Jen was in front of me, sir…"
"I don't want to hear your excuses!" Michael yelled.
Now Jen decided to step in. "Michael, stop it." She said sternly. "He apologized. Now let it go and finish up Bravo."
"No." Michael snapped. "You do not tell a ranking officer to shut up. It is unacceptable."
"As is you yelling at him in front of everyone." Jen retorted. "Now go. I'll finish up here."
Michael shook his head a small grin making its way onto his face. "No, this matter needs to be dealt with." he said moved forward so that Rufus, Jen and Vincent were right behind him. "All right Alpha, you now have a chance to redeem your guidon." He said addressing the rest of Alpha platoon; making Vincent very uncomfortable. He could see Rufus mouth to Jen, 'where's Senior Chief and Commander?'
Jen mouthed back, 'in the female barracks. A couple of the girls fainted…'
"Young Valentine here will have to do 100 push-ups in the rain. If he succeeds then you get back your guidon."
Rufus looked towards the older male in disgusted shock. "Sir, that's going way overboard!"
Michael turned to face Rufus. "You mind your place, Shinra." He snapped. "You are not in charge so just zip it."
Rufus glared right back at the CO. "Sir, you cannot…"
"I said mind your place." Michael snapped again.
"Michael, Rufus is right," Jen argued. "This is going way…"
"Stay out of this Jen." Michael ordered, then looked towards Vincent and raised a hand to pull him towards the entrance. Seeing the teen raise his hand, Vincent flinched, automatically thinking that the older teen was going to beat him. Grabbing his arm, Michael pulled into the aisle. "Well since I've had two complaints about this, I think I'll be reasonable." Michael said sarcastically. "Who among you in Alpha wish to help Cadet Valentine with his push-ups?" he asked, then quickly added after seeing Rufus make a move to say something, "DIs not included."
Rufus closed his mouth and continued to glare at the CO, Reno and Jen right along with him.
There was silence from the rest of Alpha, though Reno was fuming with anger. This made Michael raise an eyebrow. "Oh? No one?" he said with a slight hint of glee.
"I'll help Vinny, Sir!" Reno spoke up after he had managed to get the anger out of his voice.
Michael turned around, still holding Vincent by the arm and raised an eyebrow to the red-head. "You'll help whom, cadet?" Michael asked.
"I'll help Cadet Valentine, Sir!" Reno restated.
At this Vincent shook his head to the young Henjin. "No, Reno…" he said quietly. "This is my punishment…I'll deal with it alone." Reno looked about ready to protest, but Vincent gave another shake of his head. He didn't want his friend to pay for his mistake.
Michael turned now towards the rest of the barrack. "Boys rest easy tonight." He stated. "Valentine will take Night watch."
"Michael!" Jen exclaimed in outrage.
Michael just ignored her and the others as he dragged Vincent outside and to the side of the barracks away from the female.
"Push-up position." Michael ordered as he let go of Vincent. The rain soaking them quickly as Vincent complied. "Up!" Vincent pushed himself up the mud making his hands slip easily against the ground.
"Requesting permission to begin, Sir!" Vincent shouted over the rain.
"Begin!"
Back inside, everyone stood looking at the door in shock. Jen shook her head angrily at her boyfriend's behavior. Ever since he made CO, or hell even officer, the boy had let the power go to his head; but still even then he had never gone that far before. Something had to be done. Jen looked at Rufus. "Shinra,"
"Ma'am?"
"Talk with Shiro and organize a night watch schedule." Jen ordered. "And under no circumstances let Vincent take night watch."
Rufus nodded. "Ma'am on Vincent's behalf, though I know he has already said it, I apologize."
"Don't worry about it." Jen said. "I've had to do training with my parents in mechanical engineering, and occasionally their lectures cloud my senses as well…I understand completely."
Rufus nodded with a small smile. "Thank you, Ma'am." He said then looked at the door. "What are we going to do if Michael notices Vincent not doing watch?" he asked, fearing the older's wrath.
"Leave him to me." Jen said. "After I get done with Valentine, and Henjin's bunk I'll go talk with Senior Chief and Commander. He's not getting away with that. That was over the top." She looked down towards the Charlie side. "Hey Max!"
"Yeah?" Max called down.
"Can you finish up Bravo?"
"Sure thing." Max answered.
"Thanks, have you already inspected Shiro?"
"Yup."
"Send him down." Jen ordered and when said teen reached the two she said, "Shiro, you and Rufus go up front and discuss a watch schedule."
"But didn't Michael…"
"I know." Jen said. "But the punishment was over the top. I'm overriding his order." Shiro nodded, glad that somebody was sticking up against the CO.
"Right." he said then he and Rufus walked over to the front to carry out their orders. With that all set, Jen continued and inspected Vincent's bunk. Satisfied, she moved on to Reno's.
Once Alpha was done, Jen gave her clipboard to Max to hold while she went back to her barrack and talk to Senior Chief and Commander.
Once inspections were completed everyone went to the showers to get cleaned off and ready for the night. A good night's sleep sounding rather good right now. Before everyone headed to bed, Rufus and Shiro told the cadets what the night watch schedule was, though some cadets protested against it, since Michael had said that they wouldn't have to worry about night watch that night. Those in night watch were mainly from Charlie and Alpha with only about two people from Bravo.
20 minutes later; Sephiroth took the flashlight and notebook as he prepared for his shift. All dressed in his khaki uniform. As he set the book down near the entrance to the bathroom, he looked worriedly towards the door. Vincent and Michael still haven't returned from the push-ups and he was starting to get worried. Usually the teen was sick after he had returned from the labs and if the event from that morning was any indication then the boy really wasn't feeling too well.
Another hour ticks by and Sephiroth was replaced by another cadet (one who really doesn't like Michael, who does?) as this cadet neared the front entrance of the barrack, Michael and Vincent walked in. both of them were soaked to the bone; and Vincent was almost completely covered in mud from where he had slipped and fallen in to the mud puddle directly under him, numerous times. Michael had a sour look on his face as he looked at the cadet on watch. "Go back to bed, Cadet." He ordered. "Valentine will take it from here." The boy looked at Vincent and saw that the boy looked exhausted.
"Sir, I cannot complete that order, Sir!" the cadet said, making Vincent look at the boy shocked. Did he have a death wish or something?! Vincent shrank back a little as he felt waves of anger pour off of the older boy.
"What?" He asked narrowing his eyes at the cadet.
The younger gulped. "Sir, I cannot complete that order, Sir!" the boy repeated.
"And why not?"
"I was ordered not to relinquish this post to Valentine under any circumstances." The boy explained.
"Who issued that order?" now the CO was seething in anger, it almost reminded Vincent too much of Grimore.
"Cadet/Lt. Jen, Sir!" the boy replied.
Vincent looked at the older boy warily; he looked as though he was going to pounce on the other cadet and rip his throat out. The CO was already pissed off as it was; he was like a Volcano ready to explode at any moment. Thinking quickly, Vincent walked over to the cadet and began to drag him away. Hoping to get the cadet away from Michael's wrath before he really lost it. "Go ahead and go to bed." Vincent said once he saw Michael walk briskly past them and into his own bunk at the back of the room. "I'll take over."
The other cadet shook his head. "Sorry, Valentine, I can't do that." He said then smiled. "Go get yourself cleaned off and hit the hay, I heard we'll be doing PT tomorrow."
Vincent opened up his mouth to say something, but thought against it and nodded. "All right, take care."
"You too." With that Vincent walked over to the bathroom. He was muddy; he was fuckin' cold as hell; he was tired as hell; and he was sore, he could feel the rods that Grimore had placed into his limbs slightly, and that made the push-ups hurt all the more. Vincent shook his head as he reached the bathroom sink. Man he was right about one thing…this day sucked!
Turning on the water Vincent began to wash the mud off of his face and arms.
I am sorry, young one. He heard the first voice say sincerely.
Leave me alone. Vincent growled he wasn't in the mood to hear from those voices what-so-ever right now. It was thanks to them he was out in the rain doing 100 push-ups. He didn't want to hear it right now; he just wanted to get this mud off and go to sleep. Luckily enough not a lot got into his hair, just a little bit on the ends but he could easily hide those. There wouldn't be any place to wash the pillow cases or sheets so might as well keep them clean. After the mud was washed off, he put his hair in a bun and walked over to his bunk. He was so tired, and he was sick and tired of being so damn cold!
Vincent quickly changed his wet clothes and put on dry clothes, glad that the area was dark so that no one could see the scars that marred his torso and back. After getting into dry clothes, Vincent crawled into his bed and placed the covers over him, hoping to get warm soon. No such luck, the blankets were thin and there's no heater in the barracks. Vincent mentally cursed as he curled up in the blankets trying to get warm. Falling asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, despite the fact he was cold.
Rufus opened his eyes, after feigning sleep for the last hour or so. He had waited until he had heard Vincent crawl into bed, and heard the sound of his deep breathing indicating that the younger teen was asleep. Rufus studied the boy and noticed that he was visibly trembling from the cold and realized that the blanket wasn't going to do much to provide warmth. Without a second thought, Rufus got out of his bed and climbed in next to the young Valentine. He knew there was going to be talk about this later, but right now the important thing was warming the boy up.
Almost immediately after Rufus had climbed into bed, Vincent had snuggled against him. A content look on his face as warmth began to return. Rufus couldn't help but give a smile at the boy before laying his head on the pillow. It was then that the cadet on watch walked past and noticed the two. Curious, the boy walked over and questioned why he was in Vincent's bed. Rufus explained his reason, and the boy nodded before continuing on his way. Making a mental note to add that to the Night-watch log; so that way all future night-watchmen would know the actual reasons for the two boys.
Rufus laid his head back down on the pillow and wrapped his arms around the boy and pulled him close so that he could get warmer soon. With that Rufus drifted off into a light, peaceful sleep.
R.D.D.G: phew! Chapter 13 is finally done! Aye yai yai, so much happening in this chapter…I hit too many road blocks. Oh and with what happened with the 100 push-up thing, okay that never happened with us, our OIC (officer in charge), AOIC (assistant officer in charge) and IO (inspections officer) were actually pretty cool though one of them was really intimidating none of them were as bad as Michael, who is a genuine ass hole, though we did have to march in the rain and that was actually pretty fun, it rained for a majority of the time we were there…a lot of it is similar to what we had to do, only difference is (besides the Michael thing) is probably the order of events…oh yeah I have to thank Herushikyo, since she was the one who requested the part where Vincent says "Shut up!" she's been helping me out a lot with this story, ^-^. Well I hope you enjoyed it, I can't believe I made it this long…oh well; I hope to have Chap. 14 up soon. Ja Ne =D
