Chapter 14
Padme was sitting in the office when she heard the door of the waiting room slid open and two young children came into the waiting room of the Medical Center.
" Hello and what can I do for you young ones?" Padme walked out of the office and went over to the two children.
" Tari fell and scraped up her arm really bad." the older girl helped the younger girl to roll up her sleeve so that Padme could see the nasty scratch on the little girl's arm.
" Wow that is a bad booboo well come with me and we will go into this room, I need for you to take off your robe so that way I can see the arm better ok." Padme let the two children into a room that had multi beds in it.
The little girl stepped up to the bed that Padme led them to, and as she took off her robe Padme was getting the small tray ready with all the things that Padme was going to use on the little girl's arm. Padme came back over to the little girl and picked her up and sat her up on the bed.
The other girl held onto the little girl's robe as she sat down in the chair that was next to the bed, and just watched the new Healer not only did she calm the little girl's fear, but she even made her laugh.
Padme turn the right just a little bit so she could grab the tray cart and move it closer to the bed so that way she could get ready to clean and treat the arm.
" Ok the first thing that I am going to do is pick up this cotton swab and clean out the booboo; and then I will put a Bacta bandage on it. Ok now this is going to sting some and I am so sorry that it will hurt but it will clean up the wound, and then I will have to see if there is anything deeper, and if there is then I will have to numb your arm so that way I can get out anything that is in the scratch ok." Padme began rinsing out the wash cloth that was soaking in the warm soapy water.
" Ok." was all the little girl could say as she began nodding her head.
Padme smile at the little girl before she gently held the girl's arm and began cleaning the wound out and she did feel the girl tense up just a little bit as the girl felt the sting that Padme had told her about.
" Ok let me guess you two were in the Room of the Thousand Fountains and playing tag, and you somewhat pushed her a little hard by accident and made her fall down onto the gravel path way, am I right." Padme looked at the older girl who was moving around in the chair, with a small guilty look on her face.
" Um . . . yes ma'am um . . . how did you know that was what I was thinking about." the older girl looked up at Padme, but there was something behind the woman that caused her to look towards the door.
Padme turned around and saw Anakin standing in the door way and she noticed that he was holding his right arm.
" Anakin what happen?" Padme nodded for to come into the room.
" I cut it while I was working on the engine of my ship." Anakin came over to the bed and Padme could see the huge gash in the arm.
" Anakin you are dripping blood on the floor please take off your robe and go over to the sink and clean out the wound and when I am finish here then I will have a closer look at your arm." Padme noticed that the girl's wound was clean and there were not stones in the scratches so all she had to do was put a Bacta patch on the scratch.
" Ok." Anakin headed over to the sink and began cleaning his arm for Padme.
" Ok I need for you to just lay back on the bed so that the patch can work, it will take thirty minutes, um . . . does you dorm Mistress know that you both are down here?" Padme pushed the tray away and then helped the young girl to lay down.
" Yes ma'am because she was the one who sent us here." the older girl let Padme know that their dorm Mistress knew that they were here in the Medical Center.
" Ok then you two sit quietly while I take care of Padawan Skywalker." Padme smiled at both girls before she went over to the sink that Anakin was still standing at.
" Ok and you need to go and sit or lay down on a bed, I just need to wash my hands then I will take a look at your arm." Padme came up to Anakin and turned on the water to the other sink next to him and she began washing her hands.
Anakin turned off the water and went over to a bed next to the young girl and sat down on the bed then thought he would be feel better if he laid down instead.
Padme called the Medical Droid to come into the room and ask it to clean up the blood on the floor that Anakin had dripped on it.
" Ok let me see what we have going on here." Padme came up to the bed and pulled another tray towards her.
" I cleaned it as well as I could but it hurts way too much." He Winsted in pain as Padme moved his arm to a small table that the droid pulled up next to the bed, and it also pushed a stool up behind Padme so that way she could sit down so that way she could get a better look at the arm.
" Ok now this will sting Anakin." Padme looked at Anakin as she turned the arm over so that she could see it better, and then picked up a small vile that had some iodide and she began cleaning the cut out even better.
" Owww Padme that hurts!" Anakin whined and the two girls giggled.
" Sorry but it has to be done so now stop acting like a baby, oh dear, well it seems you are going to have some stitches, now be still so I can numb the arm, so that way I can stitch it up." Padme reached over to the tray and picked up a syringe that had the numbing medicine.
Ten minutes later Anakin's arm was all stitched up and wrapped in a Bacta bandage.
" Now you lay back for thirty minutes and let the Bacta do its job and in the mean time I will need to the paper work on the both of you, so now try to nap for a while." Padme went over the door and turned out the light so that the patience could relax while the Bacta patches did its job.
Thirty minutes later Padme had finished up all the paper work on the two people who were in the two beds asleep, getting up from the desk and going to the room where Anakin and the two girls were sleeping in.
" Ok now let us see how your arm is doing." Padme came into the room and went over to the young girl's side and took off the bandage from the arm and she saw that the wound was all healed up.
" Thank you Miss Padme." the young girl look down at her arm.
" You are welcome Tari, you two best be getting now and go to get some lunch." Padme smiled at the young girl before helping her down from the bed.
The older girl handed the younger one her robe and once she had it on they took off for the dining hall to get something to eat and also to join their clan-mates.
" Ah Padme you are still here, oh hello Padawan Skywalker, what have you done to your arm?" Gwendolyn came into the room.
" I cut it open while I was working on my ship." Anakin got up from the bed, and the droid began cleaning up the table and stripped the beds of their sheets.
" I was about to head out to lunch right now." Padme washed her hands again and then dried them.
" Ok well you can take the rest of the day off, and thank you for your help today." Gwendolyn smiled at the young couple.
" Ok thank you so very much and I will see you tomorrow morning." Padme followed the older woman out of the room, and into the waiting room of the Medical Center.
Padme and Anakin walked out of the door just as a couple of older Padawans walked into the Medical Center.
" Let's go get something outside the Temple, I am craving a Spice Cake." Anakin led Padme down the hallway to the hanger bay to were the speeders were kept.
" That sound great to me, because I am craving Spice cake too." Padme smiled and also let Anakin help her get into the speeder.
After lunch Padme went to the Gym to work out while Anakin had to go and do some research with Obi-Wan for a mission that they were going on tomorrow.
And when dinner time came around Obi-Wan took both Anakin and Padme out for dinner.
After dinner Padme and Anakin came back to the Temple and headed for her quarters where they Meditated for a couple of hours before Anakin had to leave and go to his quarters so that way he could get up early in morning with Obi-Wan so that they way could leave on their mission.
Once Anakin left the room Padme got ready for bed and climbed into bed and fall sound asleep.
