Cybernetic Rampage
'Two Shadow Riders down...one of them is Atticus, and Jaden has all three Egyptian Gods...this is an interesting turn of events.' Zane stood on his balcony looking at the ocean thinking about the current issue at hand. He reached into his deck box and looked at a copy of Cyber Dragon thinking about his duel with Jaden.
"ATTACK HIS CYBER DRAGON WITH METEOR MELTDOWN!"
'I have to find some way to get stronger, or else I'm going to fall behind.' Zane thought to himself remembering his loss to Jaden and sighed deeply before walking back into his room.
"Zane!" Syrus ran up to his brother as he left his dorm holding several silver medals in his hands. "Look at all the medals I've won!"
"Let me see...wow 9 medals. How many duels were these from?" Zane asked looking at the nine medals in surprise and pride making Syrus smile.
"Three! I'm getting better and better!" Syrus said making Zane smile back and continue walking. "Hey Sy, tell me something...how many has Jaden won?"
"Jay? I'd say about 18 so far. He and Alexis are tearing through duels like presents on Christmas morning." Syrus said making Zane grit his teeth in frustration and grab his deck box. "Big bro?"
"I have to catch up now...I can't fall behind." Zane said making Syrus look at his brother with worry.
"Cyber End Dragon, attack Sangan with Super Strident Blaze!" Zane ordered his ace monster to fire a bright blue laser at his opponent's defense position monster destroying it and sending his opponent backwards from the impact.

"Damn it...it's still not enough!" Zane growled looking at his Genex Medals getting even more frustrated as he was barely at half of Jaden's number. He walked away thinking of what he could do to improve until he ran into a familiar figure standing at the island's coast. "Atticus?" Atticus turned around hearing Zane's voice and weakly smiled at his old friend.
"Hey pal, how are you?"
"You should still be in the infirmary! Alexis is gonna be worried sick!" Atticus sighed as Zane put his hand on his shoulder making the former Shadow Rider sit down on the sand.
"I have Nightshroud's memories in my head...and I killed Shepherd...how can I ever make up for that?"
"Atticus it's not like that at all! You didn't kill him, Nightshroud did! You can't regret something you didn't do!" Zane said worried about his friend as Atticus closed his eyes letting his hair cover them.
"It was still just me in a mask...I can't even bring him back. He's gone and it's all my fault." Atticus said making Zane sigh and sit down next to him. "Have you ever felt so broken...so lost...that you don't know where to continue from there? Oh right, the almighty Kaiser of Duel Academy: Zane Truesdale's never lost his cool or a duel."
"Not true." Zane replied making Atticus look at him in surprise. "Jaden ended my reign. Jaden went toe to toe against Chancellor Muto and even though he lost he still almost won. He and I dueled and he won, when I pushed him he pushed back even harder and when I would make a good move his move was even better. Jaden has the true heart and soul of a duelist and I don't think I could keep up to him if I tried...now I'm in the position where I know I can get back up but it's like I'm being pushed down harder and harder the better he gets." Zane said making Atticus think for a moment and then stand up. He extended his hand to Zane and helped him stand as well smiling.
"Well we're gonna fix that aren't we? You and I are gonna duel and you're gonna pretend like I'm Jaden, don't hold back got it?" Atticus took out a Duel Disk and put his deck inside activating it surprising Zane making him do the same.

"Let's duel!"
"I'll start us off!" Atticus said drawing his beginning hand plus another card smiling at what it was. "First I'll play the spell Red-Eyes Insight! Now by sending Red-Eyes Black Dragon from my deck to the graveyard, I can add any Red-Eyes spell or trap to my hand: so I add the continuous trap Return of the Red-Eyes to my hand! Now I play Graceful Charity to draw three cards and discard two." Atticus searched his deck sending his ace monster to the graveyard and adding a glowing red card from it to his hand. He then shuffled his deck and drew three cards from it, and sent two cards from his hand to the graveyard as well. "Now I set three cards facedown and end my turn! But before you start yours I activate the effect of Red-Eyes Wyvern from my graveyard and by removing it from play, I can special summon Red-Eyes back from the grave so rise up: Red-Eyes Black Dragon!" A small version of Red-Eyes without arms appeared from Atticus's graveyard and became a red orb of fire that Red-Eyes Black Dragon appeared from roaring at Zane.

"Alright then Atticus it's my move! I'll start by playing the Gold Sarcophagus spell card! Now by banishing any card from my deck, I can add it to my hand in two turns. So I'll banish the spell Overload Fusion and I'll get it back in two turns. Now since you control a monster and I don't I summon Cyber Dragon!" Zane drew his card and subsequently activated it making the gold chest appear again and he searched his deck throwing a card into it making it glow gold and disappear. He then grabbed a copy of Cyber Dragon from his hand and put it on his duel disk making it appear. "Next I summon Proto Cyber Dragon and play Polymerization!"
"What are you summoning? You have only one Cyber Dragon."
"Actually Atticus, when Proto's in on the field it counts as a Cyber Dragon. So I fuse both my Cyber Dragons together to summon Cyber Twin Dragon!" The two Cyber Dragons flew up entering the vortex of Polymerization as Cyber Twin Dragon appeared from it.
ATK: 2800
"And you know what he does: attack with Double Strident Blaze!" Cyber Twin Dragon roared and fired two lasers from its mouths creating a giant explosion making Zane smirk. But what shocked him was that Red-Eyes was still on the field with all three of Atticus's traps activated.
Atticus: 3200 LP
"What the? What happened?"
"Well Zane it's simple. You destroyed Red-Eyes with your first attack and your second attack triggered the trap Red-Eyes Spirit bringing him back. And then my Return of Red-Eyes activated summoning my Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon as well. And then I activated Shift switching the target to Black Flare Dragon instead. So it's like you never even attacked me." Atticus explained what had happened making Zane smirk and set two cards.
"Good job, I set two cards facedown and end my turn."
"My draw! This duel's mine because I play MY Polymerization! But I play Return of The Red-Eyes's ability to bring back Black Flare Dragon and I'm fusing it to Meteor Dragon to summon Meteor Black Comet Dragon!" The vortex of Polymerization appeared above Atticus as Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon appeared and flew up with a small purple dragon with a meteor for a body as a black and purple dragon covered in fire appeared roaring.

"Plus I play Fusion Recovery adding to my hand Polymerization and Meteor Dragon from the graveyard so I can use them again but this time fusing with Red-Eyes to summon Meteor Black Dragon!" The two cards slid out of the Duel Disk as Polymerization's vortex reappeared but with Red-Eyes Black Dragon combining with Meteor Dragon making a purple and yellow dragon with markings similar to lava appear and roar at Zane as well.

"Now I play the effect of my Comet Dragon that when it's fusion summoned: I can send my Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon to the graveyard to deal you damage equal to his attack points so take 2800 points of damage Zane!" Atticus said as he grabbed Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon's card and sent it to his graveyard making the spirit of it appear and attack Zane making him grunt in pain.
Zane: 1200 LP
"So now my Meteor Black Dragon's going to annihilate your Cyber Twin Dragon with Dark Burning Meteor!" Meteor Black Dragon roared and fired a giant meteor from its mouth at Cyber Twin Dragon destroying it and send Zane staggering backwards.
Zane: 500 LP
"Now Comet Dragon end this duel! Comet Armageddon!" Meteor Black Comet Dragon roared and a colossal fireball at Zane who hesitated for a moment. But in the moment before the attack landed, Atticus and Meteor Black Comet Dragon turned into Jaden and Magma Neos making Zane stand up and activate his facedown.
"IT'S NOT OVER YET! GO POWER WALL! BY SENDING I CAN SEND ANY NUMBER OF CARDS FROM MY DECK TO THE GRAVEYARD AND FOR THE AMOUNT I SEND: THE DAMAGE IS LESSENED BY 100 SO I SEND 32 CARDS FROM DECK TO THE GRAVEYARD TO WEAKEN YOUR ATTACK BY 3200!" Zane grabbed his entire deck except for one card and slid it into the graveyard making an orange shield appear cancelling out the attack from Meteor Black Comet Dragon.

"Impressive, there's nothing else I can do so I end my turn."
"I draw." Zane drew his last card breathing heavily and smiled at what it was. "I PLAY FUSION RECOVERY TO GET POLYMERIZATION AND CYBER DRAGON BACK AND NOW I PLAY CYBERNETIC FUSION SUPPORT AND BY PAYING HALF OF MY LIFE POINTS I CAN FUSION SUMMON USING MONSTERS FROM MY GRAVEYARD HAND AND FIELD! SO I PLAY MY FACEDOWN POWER BOND TO FUSE THE CYBER DRAGON IN MY HAND WITH EVERY MACHINE MONSTER IN MY GRAVEYARD TO SUMMON CHIMERATECH OVERDRAGON!" Zane roared as all twenty of his Cyber monsters appeared and combined into a black octagonal orb and from it popped out six heads that roared at Atticus. "Now I play Overdragon's ability to gain 800 attack points for each material. I used 20 so his attack plus the boost from Power Bond is 32,000!"

"And I'm not done there! I play Cyberload Fusion to fuse all three of my removed from play Cyber Dragons by sending them to my deck to summon Cyber End Dragon!" All three of Zane's Cyber Dragons reappeared combined into Cyber End Dragon making Atticus smirk at the two Machine monsters on the field and at Zane.

"Cyber End attack his Meteor Black Dragon and Chimeratech Overdragon attack his Comet Dragon: EVOLUTIONARY STRIDENT FLAME!" The two dragons fired their attacks at Atticus making him smile as his Dragons were obliterated and a giant explosion happened catching the attention of everyone on the island especially Jaden and Syrus.
"What was that?" Jaden asked as he and Alexis finished up their duels looking at the end result of Zane and Atticus's duel.
Atticus: 0 LP

"When life pushes you down...push back even harder and your evolution will continue. Isn't that an important aspect of your deck Zane? Evolve the more you duel?" Atticus asked as he was lying down on the ground as Zane was breathing heavily.
"You had this planned the whole time?" Zane asked Atticus making him laugh.
"Kinda...I just wanted to win again but I guess I can't beat the Kaiser." Atticus said making Zane chuckle and look at his deck.
'Shadow Riders and Jaden...I'm not gonna lose to either of you anymore.' Zane said smiling at his deck before putting it away and helping Atticus stand.
