Gaz could only imagine what Zim was planning. He had promised to break her walls. Gaz knew that he meant it, too. But it scared her. She had never been loved the way Zim looked at her.
She hadn't lied when he told him that the loneliness after loss was her fear, but she also left out her fear for anything intimate. Love included.
"I hate this," Zim declared, as they drove into another hotel parking lot.
Gaz smirked. "You hate what? Going to hotels every night, claiming that I'm your girl-friend."
Zim glared at her. "I've already told you that I don't mind you being that to me."
"What? Your girlfriend? Well, I do."
Zim gave an angry huff. "That's not what I meant. You know that."
Gaz got out of the car. "Well, let's just get checked in."
Zim dropped GIR onto the floor of the hotel's room. This time, there was two beds.
Gaz mentally smiled at the hotel people. Zim just shrugged.
"Night, Zim," Gaz said, going over to "her" bed.
"No, is she dead! Gazzy, no! Don't die!" Gir said, hitting himself on the head.
Zim rolled his eyes at the panicking little robot. "No. 'Gazzy's' not dead. She's sleeping."
GIR immediately began to settle down. "Oh, that's okay!"
