A/N: Hey there everyone! I'm happy to see that a lot of you guys are enjoying this story! It's become one of my favorites to write for and I've got a lot of ideas for it! I even have some ideas for a possible sequel to this series and maybe a story that shows the childhood that my OC Danni and Jesse shared, including Aaron's Survival Camp, how the gang all met, the nearly drowning incident, and other things I've already mentioned in this story as well as other things that I have yet to mention! I'm also wondering if I should take this story out of the crossover section, but not sure, because it technical is a crossover, but I've seen other crossovers that are just chilling in the GX section, so I'm not sure! Now I'd like to give a shout out to Matsukaze Tenma, Guest (you mysterious person, you) logan, call911imbad, XT3100, and DJV-Trio-blast for their reviews for this story! It really is what makes me so excited to continue it knowing that you enjoy it. And I know it's pretty delayed, but:
Matsukaze Tenma: The 'secrets' start becoming apparent in a few later chapters and Jaden's secret with the Supreme King and Yubel fusing will be revealed, although this will happen earlier than the 'secrets' being revealed.
Guest: I'm not sure how many chapters they'll be. This is chapter 14 and it's still not even at the second round of the tournament yet, and I do plan on adding many more chapters after this tournament arc. So, I'd probably guestimate somewhere in the 40-50 range... but then again I may just be overestimating myself lol.
logan: I do plan on finishing the Black Circles story, but that's actually going under revision currently. I wrote that when I was younger, and I cringe when I go back and reread it so I'm rewriting it and adding more details, more scenes, more cohesion, and fixing all grammar and spelling errors. As soon as all the chapters that are currently up are fully revised then I'll upload the newly revised chapters, add a notice to the summary, and then I'll start updating new chapters!

Yugioh GX: The Ancient City Tournament
Joey and Chazz both shared a look before pocketing their CSS and standing up to face the girl with short spiky red hair and the boy with indigo colored hair that had stumbled upon them during their conversation with the others. Joey grinned and started pulling out his duel disk. "I hope ya're ready for a duel! I've been dyin' for one!"
The girl looked at Joey for a few seconds before grinning. "Let's take them on Brian. We needed a few more Glyph Capsules anyway."
"That's Joey Wheeler and Chazz Princeton, Krystal," Brian replied to the girl, looking apprehensive as he watched the two men in front of them. "Do you really want to take them on?"
"Quit being a whimp, we got this," Krystal replied, pulling out her own duel disk.
Chazz pulled out his duel disk and smirked at them. "So, how many Glyph Capsules are you two willing to lose?"
"We'll wager two each!" Krystal answered for both of them as Brian sighed and pulled out his duel disk begrudgingly.
"DUEL!"

Krystal smirked and drew her first card. "Ladies first! I summon my Madolche Mewfeuille!" A tiny pink cat with a fluffy hat and a feather coming out of it appeared on top of a dessert with whip cream and strawberries. "And because I normal summoned my Mewfeuille using her special effect I can special summon another Madolche monster from my hand that's level 4 or below and I choose my Madolche Cruffssant!" A brown and white puppy with a tiny yellow top hat and a bell collar appeared on a slice of bread with a tiny jar of jam resting by its leg.
Madolche Mewfeuille: 500 ATK/300 DEF
Madolche Cruffssant: 1500 ATK/1200 DEF
"So… ya're thing is dessert?" Joey asked in confusion. With the attitude the girl had, he had assumed she'd be a Harpie or Amazon duelist. Cute little animals with desserts? It hadn't even been in his list of potential options.
Krystal crossed her arms over her chest and tossed a glare at the blonde. "You got a problem with my cards?"
"Yeah, they're going to give everyone diabetes," Chazz retorted while rolling his eyes, clearly uninterested in the conversation the two duelists were having. "Is it my turn yet?"
"Have at it."
"Finally," Chazz muttered drawing his card. "I summon Chthonian Soldier in attack mode!" A large man decked out in silver armor with a large sword in his hand appeared on the field in front of Chazz. "That's it for me."
Chthonian Soldier: 1200 ATK/1400 DEF
Brian drew his card and looked at his hand briefly. "I summon my Mystic Tomato and place one card facedown." A creepy looking tomato appeared on the field with yellow eyes, pointed teeth, and a purple tongue that stuck out as the monster laughed maliciously.
Mystic Tomato: 1400 ATK/1100 DEF
"Man, I think I'd rather stick with da cupcake monsters," Joey commented as he drew his card.
"It's Madolche monsters!"
Joey ignored Krystal's outburst and continued thinking through his move. "I summon Alligators Sword in attack mode and place one card facedown! It's ya're move." A thin alligator standing on its back legs with spiky pieces of armor adorning his body appeared on the field with a large sword in his hand.
"Alright, now I activate my Cruffssants' special ability and target my Mewfeuille and return her back to my hand, giving my Cruffssant 300 extra attack points!" A can labeled SUGAR appeared above Cruffssant before it sprinkled some on the small puppy, causing it to glow gold. "Now I'll have him attack your Chthonian Soldier!"
"No!"
Brian's warning came too late as Cruffssant attacked Chthonian Soldier, destroying the monster before the sword the soldier was holding shot out and struck Krystal in the chest.
Joey and Chazz: 7400 LP

"I guess you weren't as informed as your partner," Chazz replied with a smirk. "When Chthonian Soldier is destroyed, we both take the same amount of battle damage. Even though I'm down a monster, this battle is still even."
"Huh… dat's pretty slick," Joey commented with a grin.
Krystal growled. "I place one card facedown and end my turn."
"Then it's my turn," Chazz retorted, drawing his card. "I summon my Vorse Raider in attack mode!" The large armored monster with a double-sided blade appeared on the field and growled at the monsters across the field from him. "Now I'll have him attack your Mystic Tomato!" Vorse Raider shot off and slashed at Mystic Tomato, destroying the monster before returning back to his side of the field.
Vorse Raider: 1900 ATK/1200 DEF

Brian and Krystal: 6900 LP
"I'll just place one card facedown and end my turn," Chazz announced, smirking at the two duelists.
Brian drew his card before a grin formed on his face. "Alright, it's about time I showed you two what I'm really made of. I pay 1000 life points in order to activate the spell Toon World!" A large green storybook appeared on the field in front of Brian before opening up and showing black towers and a graveyard coming from the book like a pop-up. "And next I summon my Toon Gemini Elf!" Two cartoon females with green and purple markings on their face appeared on the field, one blonde wearing a blue dress while the other had auburn hair wearing a purple dress.
Toon Gemini Elf: 1900 ATK/900 DEF
Joey and Chazz: 7400 LP
Brian and Krystal: 5900 LP
"Aw man it's dem toons again! I hate dem things! They remind me of Pegasus!" Joey exclaimed, glaring at the toon monsters that winked in his direction, causing his glare to intensify. "Alright I summon Little Winguard in attack mode!" The tiny warrior decked out in dark blue and light blue armor with a sword in his hand appeared on the field.
Little Winguard: 1400 ATK/1800 DEF
"And now I'm gonna use my partner's Vorse Raider ta attack ya're Cruffssant!" Vorse Raider shot off once again and attacked the small puppy, causing it to whimper and disintegrate.
Joey and Chazz: 7400 LP
Brian and Krystal: 5800 LP
"When one of my Madolche monsters is destroyed, I get to shuffle them back into my deck instead of sending them to the graveyard! And now I activate my spell card Double Summon so I can summon my Madolche Butlerusk and Madolche Chouxvalier!" A tiny man with brown hair dressed in a butler suit with a teapot in one hand, a towel folded over his hand, standing on a piece of waffle with whipped cream on it appeared on the field. Not a second after did a small blonde man riding a blue and green horse wearing a military uniform with a fancy hat and a large red feather appeared. He and his horse were on top of a piece of an ice cream sandwich.
Madolche Butlerusk: 1500 ATK/800 DEF
Madolche Chouxvalier: 1700 ATK/1300 DEF
"And thanks to my Madolche Butlerusk's effect I can add a field spell from my deck into my hand," Krystal announced as she started searching her deck for the card she wanted. Once she found it she added it to her hand and smiled before shuffling her deck and returning it back to the holder. "And now I think I'm going to activate my field spell. It's called Madolche Chateau!" A huge castle made of cake, ice cream, cookies, and candy appeared on Krystal's and Brian's side of the field—looking perfectly at home with the Madolche and Toon monsters—before Krystal started to smirk again. "And thanks to this field spell, my Madolche monsters get an 500 attack and defense increase!" Sugar appeared over Butlerusk and Chouxvalier and sprinkled it over them before they turned gold.
Madolche Butlerusk: 2000 ATK/1300 DEF
Madolche Chouxvalier: 2200 ATK/1800 DEF
"Now I'll have my Chouxvalier take out your Vorse Raider and my Butlerusk take down your Alligator's Sword!"
Joey smirked. "Not so fast! I activate my trap card Kunai with Chain!"
"And I activate my trap card Dark Bribe!" Brian cut in with a grin on his face. "Dark Bribe negates your traps activation and destroys it!" Joey winced seeing the two monsters heading for theirs before their lines of defense were destroyed.
Joey and Chazz: 6600 LP
Brian and Krystal: 5800 LP
"Well dis isn't good," Joey commented before turning to look at Chazz. "I hope ya have some plan up ya're sleeves."
Chazz drew his card and smirked. "Don't worry about it. I activate Graceful Charity which allows me to draw three cards and discard two!" Chazz looked at the three cards he'd drawn before he grabbed one he's recently drawn and one he had already had in his hand and placed them in his graveyard. "Now I summon Ojama Yellow in defense mode!"
Ojama Yellow: 0 ATK/1000 DEF
The small yellow monster appeared on the field before turning to look at Chazz. "Hiya boss! Where are we?"
"It doesn't matter right now. We're in the middle of a duel," Chazz retorted, trying to ignore the monster.
"We are?! Why are we dueling? Are we in another tournament? You never tell us anything boss! Why don't you—"
"Quiet!" Chazz hissed at his monster.
Joey blinked. "Everythin' okay over dere?"
"Fine," Chazz retorted as he glared at Ojama Yellow until he went back to his original position. "You're move."
Brian shook his head. "Well, weirdness aside, I summon my Toon Canon Soldier to the field! But don't worry he won't be here for long. I sacrifice him in order to summon my Toon Dark Magician Girl!" The iconic female spellcaster appeared in toon form on the field, blowing kisses to Joey and Chazz and falling into line with Gemini Elf.
Toon Dark Magician Girl: 2000 ATK/1700 DEF
"And now because you don't have any Toon monsters on your side of the field, my lovely monsters can attack you directly! And then I'll have my partner's monsters take out your last lines of defense!" Toon Gemini Elf and Toon Dark Magician Girl flew over the monsters and struck at Chazz and Joey respectively before Butlerusk and Chouxvalier destroyed Little Winguard and Ojama Yellow.
Joey and Chazz: 2700 LP
Brian and Krystal: 5800 LP
"Man, good moves," Joey commented as he drew his card. "I activate my Pot of Greed! And now I summon Swordsman of Landstar to da field! And I'll use The Warrior Retuning Alive in order to bring back my Little Winguard! Dey won't be here long though! I sacrifice both my monsters in order to summon my Red Eyes Black Dragon!" The large black dragon appeared on the field and let out a ferocious yell, spreading its wings.
Red Eyes Black Dragon: 2400 ATK/2000 DEF
"I place one card facedown and end my turn. Ya're move," Joey commented, looking towards Krystal.
Krystal smirked. "I summon my Madolche Puddingcess to the field!" A blonde girl wearing a puffy dress that looked like the tiers of a cake and a crown on her head appeared on the field. "And because of her special ability she gets 800 ATK points because there are no monsters in my graveyard on top of the 500 attack and defense points she gets from my Madolche Chateau!"
Madolche Puddingcess: 2300 ATK/1500 DEF
"Now I'll activate my spell card Power Drain so that your Red Eyes loses 500 attack points!"
Red Eyes Black Dragon: 1900 ATK/2000 DEF
"Now I'll have my monsters attack you and end this duel!"
Joey smirked. "Not so fast! I activate my Mirror Force trap card!" Krystal wince as the trap card activated, destroying all of her Madolche monsters. "Looks like ya little cupcakes are crushed."
"They're Madolche monsters!" Krystal seethed before glaring at Chazz. "Your move."
"And it's going to be the last move," Chazz smirked. "I activate my spell card Ojamandala! This allows me to bring back all my Ojama monsters from the graveyard in exchange for 1000 life points!"
Joey and Chazz: 1700 LP
Brian and Krystal: 5800 LP
"Wait you only had one Ojama in the graveyard!" Brian accused.
"Looks like you weren't paying attention, slacker. I discarded my other two Ojama's when I used Graceful Charity!" Chazz announced as his three Ojama monsters appeared on the field. "Now I'll activate Ojama Delta Thunder which inflicts 500 life points of damage for each card in your hands and on your side of the field! Now you have three on the field, and seven in between both of your hands! That's 5000 life points worth of damage!"
Joey and Chazz: 1700 LP
Brian and Krystal: 800 LP
"And if I discard an Ojama Delta Hurricane from my hand, then I can destroy all cards on your side of the field! So say goodbye to your Power Drain, Madolche Chateau, and Toon World! And when Toon World is destroyed, so are you Toon monsters, leaving you absolutely defenseless!" Chazz announced as the cards were all destroyed, the Toon monsters leaving the field. "And with Red Eyes back to full strength and you defenseless… Joey?"
"Take it away, Chazz."
"Red Eyes attack! End this duel!" Red Eyes roared before he blasted Brian and Krystal.
Joey and Chazz: 1700 LP
Brian and Krystal: 0 LP
"Alright! Nice move Chazz!" Joey cheered, walking over to clasp a hand on the younger boys back. "I guess we work well after all!"
"Yeah, who would've thought?"
Kaiba smirked as he turned and saw the auburn haired boy and the boy with the jet black hair. He had immediately recognized them as Harold Gallant and Liam Ford, the Naturia and Wetlands duelists respectively. He had seen some of their duels and he'd studied their dueling tactics in preparation for this very tournament. His smirked widened. He knew they were no match for him and Zane. "Looks like we just found ourselves a duel," Kaiba commented, pulling out his duel disk while Zane mirrored his actions.
Harold grinned. "We're going to take down to pro-league bests! This'll be awesome!"
"No doubt! This'll help our careers no problem!" Liam agreed.
Zane shared a look with Kaiba as he activated his duel disk and shook his head. "They really don't know who they're dealing with, do they?"
"Not at all," Kaiba replied, his smirk widening even further. "We each wager three Glyph Capsules!"
"Fine by us!"
"DUEL!"
Kaiba and Zane: 8000 LP
Harold and Liam: 8000 LP
"I'll go first! I summon Naturia Beans in attack mode!" Harold announced as his green pea monster appeared on the field with one of the peas still in the pod and the other two bouncing around outside of it.
Naturia Beans: 100 ATK/1200 DEF
Zane narrowed his eyes at the fact that Harold had summoned such a weak monster in attack mode. He was no fool. He was well aware of the monster's effect and if Harold thought that Zane—or Kaiba for that matter—would rise to such obvious bait, he would be sorely mistaken. "I summon my Cyber Kirin in defense mode." The machine dog looking monster appeared on the field.
Cyber Kirin: 300 ATK/800 DEF
"I summon Dupe Frog!" Liam took over as his small bluish white frog appeared on the field with a black graduation cap on his head.
Dupe Frog: 100 ATK/2000 DEF
"Okay, this has been really adorable, summoning low level monsters an all, but I'm just going to stop this trend right now," Kaiba commented as he drew his card. "I summon X-Head Cannon in attack mode and place one card facedown." The purple and gold machine creature appeared on the field, towering above the smaller monsters.
X-Head Cannon: 1800 ATK/1500 DEF
Harold drew his card and smiled slightly. "I think Kaiba's got the right idea. I summon my Naturia Cliff in attack mode!" A stone monster with red grass for hair and twigs and branches coming out of his head appeared on the field.
Naturia Cliff: 1500 ATK/1000 DEF
"Alright, my move! I activate Pot of Greed which allows me to draw two extra cards. And now I summon Cyber Soldier of Dark World and place one card facedown," Zane announced as his large mechanical blue, black and purple soldier appeared on the field.
Cyber Soldier of Dark World: 1400 ATK/1200 DEF
Liam drew his card and smirked. "I summon my Unifrog in attack mode and then I'll activate my Wetlands!" A purple frog with a light blue uniform appeared on the field before the field turned very grassy and holographic rain started to fall. It looked quite ironic due to the fact that actual thunder went off just as the card was activated. "And thanks to this card, all my frogs get increase of 1200 attack points!"
Unifrog: 1600 ATK/400 DEF
Dupe Frog: 1300 ATK/2000 DEF
"And something special my Unifrog can do is attack you directly!" The frog hopped over to Kaiba's side of the field and pierce him with his little horn before hopping back over.
"I sacrifice my Kirin in order to bring the battle damage we would've received this turn down to zero," Zane interrupted as his beast was sent to the graveyard.
Liam smirked. "Doesn't matter. When my Unifrog makes a successful attack, I can destroy one spell or trap card and I choose the one you have!" Liam announced pointing towards Zane, destroying the Mystical Space Typhoon he'd had facedown. "I'll turn it over to you Kaiba."
Kaiba drew his card and smiled. "I activate Double Summon in order to summon Y-Dragon Head and Z-Metal Tank. Now I'll take my three monsters out of play in order to summon my XYZ-Dragon Cannon!" The large mechanical cannon monster appeared on the field.
XYZ-Dragon Cannon: 2800 ATK/2600 DEF
"And by discarding one card from my hand I can destroy one of your spell cards, and I choose Wetlands!" The card was destroyed and the field turn back to normal, also reverting the attack points of Unifrog and Dupe Frog back to normal. "Now, I'll attack your Dupe Frog with my XYZ-Dragon Cannon and attack your Unifrog with Cyber Soldier of Dark World!" XYZ-Dragon Cannon fired a blast at the purple and blue frog before the Cyber Soldier shot off and slashed at the Unifrog, wiping out both monsters.
Kaiba and Zane: 8000 LP
Harold and Liam: 4300 LP
Harold and Liam shared a startled look at the fact that Kaiba had managed to wipe out Wetlands and both of Liam's monsters at once while they still hadn't even lost a single life point. Harold tensed, thinking they might have made a mistake, before he drew his card. "I summon Naturia Marron in defense mode." A small orange fuzzball appered on the field, blinking its large eyes up at the far larger monsters.
Naturia Marron: 1200 ATK/700 DEF
Zane smirked. "I activate the spell card The Warrior Returning Alive in order to bring back my Cyber Kirin, but he won't be here long. I'll sacrifice him and my Cyber Soldier of Dark World in order to bring out two of my friends, my two Cyber Dragons! And I won't stop there. I use the spell card Polymerization in order to fuse my two dragons into the Cyber Twin Dragon!" The two headed chrome colored dragon appeared on the field and roared at the smaller Naturia monsters.
Cyber Twin Dragon: 2800 ATK/2100 DEF
"Now I'll attack your Naturia Marron with my Cyber Twin Dragon and your Naturia Cliff with the XYZ-Dragon Cannon!" The two monsters fired a blast at the two Naturia monsters, destroying them and leaving only Naturia Beans on the field. "I'll end my turn there."
Kaiba and Zane: 8000 LP
Harold and Liam: 3000 LP
Liam paled. "I summon my Penguin Soldier in defense mode!" A small penguin with a sword in his hand appeared on the field.
Penguin Soldier: 750 ATK/500 DEF
Kaiba raised an eyebrow at the small penguin. "Really? That's your line of defense? Well, this isn't going to be a challenge at all. I summon Vorse Raider in attack mode!" The large armored monster with a double-sided blade appeared on the field and growled at the monsters across the field from him.
Vorse Raider: 1900 ATK/1200 DEF
"And that's not all. Are you two in the least bit curious which card I discarded in order to use my XYZ-Dragon Cannon's special effect to wipe out your Wetlands?" Harold and Liam looked like they sincerely didn't want to know, causing Kaiba to smirk. "Well, I'll let you know anyway. I activate the spell card Monster Reborn in order to bring out my Blue Eyes White Dragon!" The large white dragon materialized on the field and let out a ferocious roar.
Blue Eyes White Dragon: 3000 ATK/2500 DEF
"Now, I'll have my Vorse Raider attack your Naturia Beans!"
"Hold on there," Harold exclaimed. "My Naturia Beans can't be destroyed by battle damage once per turn and whenever you name it as a target you get 500 life points inflicted on you!" Vorse Raider slashed Naturia Beans only for nothing to happen.
Kaiba and Zane: 7500 LP
Harold and Liam: 3000 LP
"I'm well aware of what it does," Kaiba retorted, a slow smirk finding its way onto his face. "And like you said… it's once per turn." Harold's face paled as he realized what Kaiba was planning. "Now I'll attack using my XYZ-Dragon Canon!" The canon blasted at the small Naturia monster, destroying it.
Kaiba and Zane: 7000 LP
Harold and Liam: 300 LP
"Now Cyber Twin Dragon attack and destroy Penguin Soldier!" The dragon roared and fired a blast at the small penguin, destroying it and leaving Harold and Liam defenseless while the Blue Eyes hovered in the air above them. "Now Blue Eyes attack directly! White Lightening!" The dragon roared and obeyed its master, blasting at the two boys and knocking them off their feet.
Kaiba and Zane: 7000 LP
Harold and Liam 0 LP
Zane smirked as the holograms faded and turned to look at Kaiba. "This means we have nine Glyph Capsules now."
"Just one more to go," Kaiba replied with a smirk before he looked up just as another clap of thunder filled the air. "Right now, let's just get our Glyph Capsules and get to one of the medical tents. It should start raining any minute now."
