The kitchen was a buzz with noise. The table had no food left and simply had empty plates and half-full cups of water or orange. A few people were at the table, but most were sat on the sides or stood leaning against them in small groups. Most people were ready, but it was clear to see that Ming Ming had been rushed out of her room due to the fact that only half of her hair was up in a bun and the other half was clipped out of her way. Then other people looked like they could go back to sleep at a moments notice. Rey was still sleepy but the food was slowly waking him up and his energy was slowly building up once again.
Sat on the island eating their breakfast was Monica and Mystel both with their legs crossed and listening to the people who were stood with them converse. Rey, Oliver, Julia, Max and Hiro were stood eating their breakfast with them. They were all talking about what Rey was going to do with his hair and clothes for his date. Julia and Oliver were discussing his hair and how they could make it look amazing but also make sure that it wouldn't get in his way. Max and Mystel were talking about what they would have Rey wearing and were quickly getting into quite a heated argument about it. Max thought that Mystel's ideas were too plain and boring and Mystel thought that Max's ideas were too bright and out there. Which then lead to Monica and Hiro getting involved and turning the conversation to the points about how they were going to keep everybody away. And Rey was all too happy to talk about that but none of them would let him worry so the conversation quickly turned to what was actually going to happen on the date.
Sat at the table eating and conversing were Brooklyn, Garland, Michael, Tyson, Enrique and Brian. They were all talking about what Brooklyn should do on the date and how he should act and things that he really shouldn't do. After ten minutes, Brooklyn felt like his head was going to explode. There were about a million things that he was told would surly impress him and about a million and one things that he shouldn't do at all. He then realised that the only person who really knew Rey was actually Tyson, and that even he didn't know him amazingly well and that's when it all made sense to him. He needed to talk to his old team, the team that he grew up with. He looked around and saw the White Tigers, the boys at least busy with their conversation and decided to save it for after they were done.
On one of the sides and around it, there was Lee, Gary, Kevin, Rick and Eddie talking about all sorts. Lee, Eddie and Gary were talking about how Eddie liked Mariah and how h could go about telling her that. So far they had established that it would be best if he told her and that he didn't let either Rick or Michael know since they had a tendency to spread other people's secrets. And they had begun to warn him about how she would act when certain things happened that annoyed or upset her and he told them that no matter what he'd be fine after all he isn't a guy who will be pushed around if he doesn't deserve it. That then left Kevin and Rick sat on the side talking about how Monica and Rick's relationship was going. Kevin liked the larger blader and he knew that he would need advice every now and then seeing as it was his first serious relationship and he would no doubt want to be as kind and caring as possible not only for Monica's sake but also so that her giant of a brother wouldn't beat him half to death. Slowly all of boys began chatting about Crusher beating Rick up and it had all five of them laughing and taking the mick out of him.
Stood at the door whispering to one another and laughing were Chief and Emily. It was clear to see that the pair was much more than friends and they were extremely happy being together. But nobody was watching them as everybody else was so involved in their own conversations and the pair was grateful. They weren't ready to tell everybody else, so they settled on just being in one another's company.
Johnny, Robert and Crusher were all stood in the middle of the room having a laugh about the prospect of Crusher getting the chance to beat up Rick. But after a few minutes Crusher admitted that he hoped that Rick wouldn't do anything to hurt his little sister as the larger blader actually did like the other blader even if he didn't always show it. Feeling uncomfortable with showing his emotions, Crusher quickly changed the subject to how Robert and Mystel were doing instead. Johnny and Crusher were both laughing when they saw the look on the older bladers face and he told them both how they were just being casual at the moment and how they were just going to see how things would go between them. Whilst he was talking, he failed to notice both Crusher and Johnny give a small nod to Ian who returned it with a smile happy with what was going to happen.
In the corner of the room Ian, Tala, Spencer and Kai were stood together talking and looking out of the window. Ian then turned back to the conversation after giving his nod and almost punched Kai when he heard what they were talking about. Kai was asking for way to see what Rey and Brooklyn were up to on their date once again and Tala and Spencer were moaning to him about how Hiro would stop him and everybody else from annoying the pair during their date. Ian decided to add his two cense by telling Kai to give it a rest before he considered hitting him. Kai then got the message and asked Tala how his full view of Johnny was earlier. This then caused Tala to stutter and tell them how he didn't want to talk about it. Spencer and Ian then began to take the mick out of their captain and he began shouting at the taller and smaller members of his team causing them to laugh even more. Kai used this as a chance to look at Rey and couldn't help but smile when he saw him smile, what a mistake he had made. And there and then, he knew that he might have messed up his one and only chance to be with the great White Tiger.
At the other side of the room having already finished their breakfast were Raul, Mariah and Ming Ming. They were obviously talking about Raul's hair because both girls were amazed at how the Spanish blader had managed to get it to look so good in such a short amount of time. He then proceeded to smile and explain that it was simply years of practice and nothing more. Happy with the answer Mariah then went on about why Ming Ming was staring at Crusher throughout dinner the night before and Raul thinking it would be fun also joined in on the interrogation. After about three million questions, Ming Ming shook her head and told them that nothing was going to happen because he was so worried about Monica and Rick and she was able to accept that. Especially since, she thought of Monica as a sister of sorts.
That the left Hillary stood in one of the corners of the room watching everybody else enjoy themselves and she couldn't help but glare as she watched them all have a good time. Why couldn't she enjoy herself too? She wanted to have fun with her friends and talk about all of the gossip as she always did when they were all together. There was nothing out of the ordinary with her friends or her. All that as different was the fact that she always wanted help with Hiro. But was that really such a bad thing? It's what girls were supposed to do, talk to each other about boys and ask for their friends' advice and help. But it was clear that none of her friends wanted to help or even listen about Hiro. She wasn't sure why though, after all it was clear how much he liked her and she happily returned his feelings. But apparently, nobody else could see it; they all thought that he was gay. Nevertheless, Hillary knew better, it was just a story that he was telling everybody because he didn't want people to be worried about their age gap and she knew that soon they would be together. However, for the time being she had to find another way to get her fun. She then saw Monica, poor little Monica. Or not so little, it was clear that Monica was finally growing up and that she wasn't scared to say what was really on her mind which all resulted in her having Rick as her boyfriend. And Hillary knew exactly how to get her for being so perfect, she just needed to find somebody's phone…
It was then that she spotted that Emily had dropped her phone near the door and she watched as the pair walked over to place their plates in the sink at the other side of the room. She then took this as her chance and she walked over to the doorway, quickly picked up the phone and bean looking through her contacts. When she had found the number that, she was looking for she opened her phone and quickly typed in the number under the same name as it was on Emily's phone. Once it was safely in her phone, she slid hers into her pocket and closed Emily's making it look like she had just picked it up. She then walked over to the pair and gave it back to Emily before she walked back to her corner happy with what she had just found out.
When all of the dishes were on the table and most people were waiting by the door Hiro realized that he had to tell them which team was doing the dishes. They all knew that it was going to be he Bega bladers again but he couldn't do that considering Brooklyn had his date as well as the fact that Monica and Mystel were supposed to help Rey get ready for the same date. And seeing, as Tyson was the second last he could make the Bladebreakers do them but Rey had to get ready for his date and Hiro knew that it was going to take everybody a while to get him ready. "You guys go on; I'm going to do the dishes. Which means that later when we get all of the food delivered that you will all be helping me. This will also give Rey and Brooklyn some privacy on their date." There was then a loud chorus of groans from the group of teens but they slowly walked away, minus Rey who was being dragged up the stairs by his new team of stylists to get ready.
He then turned around and shook his head when he saw what a mess the kitchen was. It really did amaze him, Oliver and Rey hadn't made any sort of mess but add the rest of the teen who were simply eating their breakfast and it looked like the aftermath of World War three! Deciding that it would be best for him to finish as quickly as possibly he began to pile up the dishes from the sides and move them to the sink. He turned around to start on the table and almost had a heart attack when he saw somebody stood at the end of the table. When he had managed to calm his heart down to its normal rate, he found that it was Hillary stood at the other end giving him a strange smile.
Something about that smile made him feel worried. He wasn't scared; after all, it was just Hillary. It's not as if it was Brooklyn or Emily stood giving him that worrying smile. He knew that something bad was going to happen and he had a bad feeling that it was going to end up with Hillary crying and him seeming like the bad guy. He wasn't sure, why she was there; in fact she was often watching him or giving him these strange looks that he couldn't explain. It was as if she was trying to get his attention for some reason and it was really beginning to bug the hell out of him. It was only then that he remembered that she had a massive crush on him.
He decided to just give her a friendly smile as he began to pile up the dishes and place them next to the sink. Hillary decided to do the same thing and before he could realise what was happening there were no dishes left, him and Hillary were stood at the sink, and he knew that nobody else was around. The one time he decides to let everybody off Hillary decides that it's time for him and her to start their relationship. 'Perfect' he thought to himself.
The next few moments were a bit of a blur for Hiro. One minute he was facing Hillary and the next thing he knew she had a tight grip on his face and she had yanked him down so that they were face to face. With one quick wink, she pulled the older boy forward and crashed their lips together not caring if she was rough or if she hurt him, she had to kiss him! And that was it, Hiro had his eyes wide open from shock and he didn't know what to do, but he knew that he had to do something and fast. He really didn't want to kiss Hillary and it was only made worse by the fact that she was a terrible kisser and it made Hiro really want to hit her. Sadly, being the only responsible one in the house meant that he couldn't just shout and scream at her so he did the next best thing.
He took both of her hands in his, giving them a slight squeeze, and pulled them off of his face and causing her to pull away and look at him shocked. She couldn't believe it; the person who she loved didn't want her! 'He's way too into this gay thing' she thought angrily to herself. She then proceeded by crossing her arms across her chest and giving him her best glare. However, luckily for Hiro, she wasn't very good at glaring at people.
"Hillary, that was completely inappropriate and we both know it! I don't know what possessed you to do something so stupid but I suggest that you go upstairs and never try what you did again. I'm GAY HILLARY! That is not some front or act, I am gay and we both know it. I do not have any feelings towards you other that mild friendship, now off you go. It's going to be a long day so I suggest that you go and get ready." He then turned around and began running the water to wash the dishes with whilst taking slow deep breaths to calm his anger and annoyance so that he didn't lash out at the smaller girl.
Hillary didn't know how to react. Everything she had ever thought was a lie it was all a lie! She then rushed out of the kitchen and stopped when she reached the bottom of the stairs, what was she supposed to do now? Shaking her head she slowly began to walk up the stairs not taking notice of the rope that was set across halfway up. When she caught her foot on it she fell forwards with a thud which caused everybody, Even Rey and his team of stylists to walk over and watch. It was then that a large bucket of green slime fell over the girl landing on her head and covering her in the wonderful, sticky, green substance as she screamed and shouted.
With that everybody began laughing. All of the other teens were on the landing watching they couldn't help it. She had had it coming anyway and they were all in need of a good laugh at somebody else's expense. Nobody offered to help the girl, in fact slowly people began drifting back to what they were doing before.
Kevin was stood watching her and smiling with Gary who was giving him a disapproving look knowing it was Kevin. They then looked over to see Crusher, Johnny and Ian talking and looking at each other confused and Gary looked down at Kevin once again. But the smaller blader held up his hand showing that he had no idea what they were on about.
"I thought we agreed to just trip her up!" Johnny shook his head. He knew that Crusher and Ian weren't as good at him at pranking and that they didn't like to listen to his instructions, but he didn't think they'd go against him! They weren't just three kids who pranked together, they had formed a strange sort of friendship. And he hated to admit to it, but he felt sort of hurt that they would do this to him.
"I didn't put that bucket there. Anyway, goo isn't my style." Crusher said calmly, he liked being friends with Johnny and Ian and he didn't want them to think he wasn't respecting their pranks. He really did enjoy their friendship and pranking and he really did hate goo. It was too messy and took way too long to set up in his mind and he had only worked with it once and that was his worst prank in his mind.
They both looked down at Ian who shook his head. "If it was me then trust me I would have made sure she could see my name somewhere. It was far too subtle for my work." It was true; Ian liked to make sure that people knew they were getting pranked by him. And he didn't want to loose his new pranking friendship it was the only thing that he hated the Demolition boys for. He hated the fact that they detested pranks so this friendship was amazing for him.
They all then turned to look at the scene of the crime when they noticed Kevin looking and smiling as he waved Gary off to their room. Johnny smiled with the other two as they had a feeling they had another prankster to compete with. It was clear now that Kevin liked to prank in a much more subtle but effective way than the trio did and it made them laugh. Which caused him to look at them with a questioning look.
"Nice job Kev." Johnny nodded his approval and the smaller blader relaxed and smiled. "Yeah, we might need your assistance some time." Crusher smiled too and he and Johnny both headed off leaving just Ian and Kevin alone on the landing. It was funny to see them stood together; being the same height, it was funny because it made you notice just how small they both were.
"That was a good job. I mean you set it up perfectly and you managed to use our prank to make your job easier. I have to say that I am impressed with your sneaky yet obvious style." Ian walked over and smiled at Kevin as they both watched Hillary try to stand up only to slip over on the stairs and smack her knees. "Thanks, I didn't even realize it was you three who had set it up, I just thought it needed a little more prank to it." The smallest White Tiger shrugged turning back to the smallest Demolition Boy.
They both smiled at on another before they turned away both blushing a little. But it was Ian who was brave enough to make the first move. "So since we are both into pranking and we are both really small and understand each other…umm…well…" He then began rubbing his hands together unsure of how to finish his sentence. He didn't want to seem too obvious or forward but he really did want to ask Kevin his question.
Kevin tried to be patient, he waited for about a minute and Kevin was still rubbing his hands together. His mouth was opening and closing every few seconds but no words were coming out, not even a sound. Kevin hated having to wait around but he knew that if he wasn't that he might miss out on something really good. So he grabbed Ian's hands to stop them from moving and looked straight into his eyes. "Just ask me, I won't run away or freak out if that's what's worrying you."
With a deep breath Ian smiled at the White Tiger before him. I was just wondering if maybe we could go out sometime? You know, nothing much, just chatting for a while." He watched as Kevin's smile grew into the biggest grin Ian had ever seen. And it caused him to grin too. If anybody else had seen them they would have worried about them thinking, they were getting high or something equally as worrying. But nobody was there to see, at least nobody that would worry…
Kevin then could not help himself, his body was thinking a million times faster than his head. He leaned forward and gently placed his lips on Ian's and left them there until the other boy responded. They stood their kissing for a few seconds before they both pulled back shocked and smiling. "Sure, we can discuss the details a little later. I should go stuff to do." Kevin winked, let go of the other boy's hands and ran as fast as he could into his room grinning the whole time.
Ian then slowly walked back to his room not even noticing Hillary walking into her room and shouting about needing a shower. But he did notice the rest of his team stood at the door all smiling down at him. "I don't want to hear one word or you to say one word about this to anybody else. Now, we have a long day ahead of us. So lets go on inside." He nodded as they all headed into the room.
Kevin was then pushed out of his room by his friends as they walked into the Bega Bladers room with everybody except Ming Ming, Emily, Mariah, Hillary, Rey, Julia, Oliver, Max, Tyson, Mystel, Monica and Chief. They were all talking and laughing with Brooklyn and the others attempting to keep him calm.
Brooklyn was sat on his bed next to Raul and Enrique as they talked with Lee and Kevin about what they thought was going to happen and how they thought Rey was doing. After a while they began talking about other things such as plans for Christmas which was only in three months and the others all smiled as they noticed that Brooklyn was much calmer than before.
Crusher, Rick, Eddie and Gary were all stood together talking about all of the other couples in the house. They all knew that talking about the date or Rey would only make Brooklyn more nervous than he already was. So they talked about Eddie liking Mariah which gave them all a good laugh as well as Crusher liking Ming Ming. To the others in the house it was a surprise to see the group already knowing these things about each other. But nobody else, except Spencer, was their friends in that sense. Being big even for their ages they all understood each other and it was a friendship that just seemed to work.
Then there was Michael and Garland who were snuggled up together on Garland's bed as they talked with Robert and Johnny mostly about Johnny and Tala. Everybody in the house loved to know what was going on with the pair especially since word had spread about Tala seeing all of Johnny earlier that morning. But Johnny just changed the subject to Robert and Mystel and they all began to lecture Robert when he told them he hadn't talked to Mystel since yesterday when he left him at his room. After a few minutes thought they all ended up laughing anyway.
"Kevin, what the hell are you still grinning about?" Lee almost shouted causing the whole room to look at the pair and then just at Kevin noticing his grin. He was often smiling no matter what was going on so it was only natural that it was jut Lee who noticed the now permanent grin on his friends face. Even with everybody else staring, he still couldn't stop grinning which only caused everybody else to focus on him that much more.
"Come on Kevin, we all want to know!" Michael laughed with everybody else but the smaller teen just shrugged his shoulders and continued to grin. The others then began shouting and laughing trying to get him to tell them but he was adamant that he wasn't going to say anything. And this continued on until the Demolition boys appeared in the doorway.
Enrique quickly left his seated positions, ran over to Brian, wrapped his legs around his waist as he jumped onto him and began kissing him causing everybody to protest and moan and they all continued joking and laughing trying to get Kevin to tell them. Tala took Enrique's place, as Enrique and Brian stood with Michael and them, Kevin joining them and Spencer standing with the other large boys.
After a few more minutes of taunting, Kevin looked at Ian for some help confusing everybody apart from the other Demolition boys. Ian nodded causing Kevin's grin to somehow, get wider! "The truth is I kissed Ian earlier, and we're going out on a date soon." He gave a shrug of the shoulders making it seem like an everyday thing.
None else really knew how to react. Some were starring at the smallest White Tiger who was just looking around as if everybody else were crazy whereas others were staring at the smallest Demolition Boy who was just smirking at the others enjoying the shocked look on their faces. Nobody thought that they would become a pair purely because the Demolition Boys were so harsh and Kevin was such a free spirit. They seemed like total opposites but yet after thinking about it for a few minutes it became clear that maybe they could make it work. Maybe.
Raul then stood up and went to the door but was stopped by Rick. "Where are you off too? We can't leave Brooklyn on his own right before his date." Raul simply rolled his eyes before he spoke to not only Rick but the entire room. "I'm going to go and see how Rey is and let everybody else know the good news. I mean it will just save time on the rumours slowly spreading. I mean the truth is bound to be twisted if we let it happen like that. See you all later." He smiled at everybody before walking out of the room and confidently striding over to the Bladebreakers room and knocking on the door a few times.
With Rey and his new team of stylists (Going back in time a little bit)…
Chief and Emily were sat on his bed just chatting and laughing about everything and anything mostly just enjoying each other's company. Then Oliver and Julia were brushing through Rey's hair and continuing to discuss the many possibilities that they could do whilst trying to be practical. Mystel was then sat with Max and Tyson as they spread out Rey's clothes all over the room trying to find the perfect outfit combination, which resulted in an awful lot of shouting and laughing. This then left Mariah, Ming Ming and Monica to discuss trying to get Rey to wear a thin layer of eyeliner to get his eyes to stand out. They were practicing subtle designs on one another that they knew Rey would be able to pull off.
Rey was sat in his chair and was really nervous whn he glanced at somebody's alarm clock and saw that it was already ten past nine! "Guys, hate to be a heavy burden and all but we only have fifty minutes before I'm due to be downstairs." Just then Max and Mystel began whispering to one another faster than humanly possibly and Julia and Oliver gave each other a nod and a sly nod to the group of three girls who couldn't help but grin. But all of that was hushed when there was three sharp knocks on the door.
Max was the first over there and he held an iron grip on the door handle as he spoke. "Who is it?" They all heard a loud sigh but they still had no idea who it was. "It's Raul, now can you please let me in? And before you ask, I am alone and yes. The others are all watching from Bega's room so just open the door enough for me to get through." There was then a low grumble, which they all assumed were the other boys being disappointed at not being able to get a glimpse at Rey beforehand.
Max looked around the room and when he saw Rey nod he opened the door just enough for the skinnier blader to slip through. When he was inside he couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of the room. "Okay, Julia and Oliver are on hair. Me, Ty and Mystel are trying to find Rey and outfit, I have no idea what the three girls are doing and in the corner Chief and Hillary are just being lovebirds and all. You know, nothing too new. Where would you like to work?" Max walked back over to Mystel who was holding up a pair of jeans that Max actually liked but he just held them as they all waited to hear what Raul had to say.
"He doesn't get to choose what he wants to do. He is obviously going to come and help me and Oliver with Rey's hair I mean if it wasn't for him then I can tell you now I would have cut my hair off years ago! Come on brother!" Julia motioned him over and all of the other girl nodded all knowing how amazing he was with hair. So they all went back to doing what they were doing but it was only Rey, since he wasn't busy, who noticed the nervous look that both Oliver and Raul had suddenly adopted.
Julia then stepped away and went to sit with the trio of girls and smiled at what they were doing and they all began to discuss what they thought would work best. Max and Mystel looked like they were slowly beginning to put together and outfit and they were now using Tyson as their clean up man. The only reason that it was happening was because Max kept giving him little kisses every now and then and it was clear he was a lovesick puppy. Chief and Emily were now on their laptops comparing things about high tech things nobody else would hope to understand.
Oliver smiled as Raul stood with him and they both began to blush a little bit. "So…um…I was thinking if maybe we braid it or something. You know, so it looks nice but is kept out of the way." Rey so badly wanted to shout and tell Oliver to just ask out the other blader. But he kept quiet knowing his hair was in their hands. He could hear that they were both nervous and he had a feeling Julia leaving to talk with the girls wasn't exactly helping.
"I like that idea. But how about we put it in a French braid instead, you know it's practical and looks even more amazing than a normal braid." Raul didn't even think about Rey's hair, he was more interested in complimenting Oliver. And he couldn't help but grin when he saw the French blader blush tomato red as he nodded his head. "You go ahead and do it O; I've got fresh gossip we all want to hear." Oliver nodded his head and began working on Rey's hair whilst Raul sat on the bed next to Rey as everybody sat down and faced him. Even Max and Mystel had found the perfect outfit.
"This had better be good Raul." Ming Ming smiled joking around but secretly hoping that it was something completely new. "Is it Tala and Johnny? Are they finally together?" Max asked excitedly but quickly became disappointed again when Raul simply shook his head.
"So all of us guys were in with Brooklyn keeping him calm and everything when Kevin comes in with his team. Nothing strange about that, then the Demolition boys joined us. So that was a little strange but they were alright really just chatting like they weren't always cold towards us. And Kevin was grinning like an idiot for no apparent reason. So naturally, Lee got really annoyed and demanded to know in front of the entire room why he was acting so happy. And in typical fashion, everybody began to annoy him and tease him about what it could be. He then strangely looked at Ian who gave a nod but we still kept teasing him. And then he just blurted out that he kissed Ian! AND that they're going on a date sometime! I mean, I'd get it if Ian kissed him but Kevin, kissing Ian. Please tell me I'm not the only one whose a little freaked out?" He looked around the room and everybody was shocked. Not a bad shocked, more like happy, but shocked.
Then there was Rey who was quietly chuckling to himself causing everybody to look at him for some kind of explanation. But when he didn't take notice Oliver lightly yanked a strand of his hair to get his attention. "Mind explaining Rey?" Rey saw the faces and smiled at them. "He's kind of had a thing for Ian; I never thought it was a crush until now actually. He talked about him a lot and he looked up to him and I heard him talk about how he's used Ian's pranks to help his own. And it was probably Kevin who set up the bucket of slime; he's a sneaky one like that. But I suppose it was obvious now that I really think about it."
Max then nodded and began talking with Mystel and Tyson about something, which resulted in the trio bombarding Emily and Chief with questions about their relationship. The group of girls went back to talking about Hillary and why she was the last upstairs and Rey was sure he heard Hiro's name be mentioned more than once. Which left him to talk to Oliver and Raul but he was doing most of the talking seeing as the pair were still so nervous around one another. But also because he was a little nervous, it's only natural to be when you're going on your first date. Mind you, Rey hadn't actually told anybody that it was his first date he didn't want to seem like a looser after all.
Oliver then looked at Rey's hair and tied it up with a black hair band then pulled it out but held the end so that he wouldn't have to start over again. "Hey Raul, pass me that red ribbon Max left on the bed please." The French teen pointed to a thin strip of what appeared to be silk ribbon and Raul nodded. He picked it up quickly noticing the smooth silk beneath his fingers and he gently placed it into Oliver's hand making sure that his fingers lingered a little longer than necessary on the other boy's skin. This once again caused Oliver to blush as he mumbled a 'thank you' and tried to refocus on his task of tying hair. His easily slipped the ribbon into a nice bow that held the braid together perfectly. "Finished! Julia, you guys up next?" The French teen sat down and smiled at his friend.
"No way! They're not even doing anything helpful! We spent forever finding the perfect outfit, what else could they have to do to Rey now?" Max and Mystel moaned from the other side of the room. It was clear now that they were bored with waiting around and just wanted to see Rey all dressed up and ready to go. "Actually, we've got something that'll make him look amazing." Julia stood up and waved a liquid eyeliner at the boys causing them all to look at her confused and Emily to nod her approval.
As Julia walked over to Rey he didn't question not really processing what was happening around him, he just nodded when she told him not to move or close his eyes. The boys all gathered around as they watched Julia slowly apply a thin line above and below each of Rey's eyes and then add the smallest of flicks on each side to just give Rey's eyes the feel of a cats. When she stepped back everybody began applauding her truly impressed with her handy work and it was only then did Rey take notice of what had just happened. "Monica, be honest with me now because you're the only one here I really trust. How bad?"
The small girl looked at the older teen and smiled as she rolled her eyes. "You look amazing, do you think we would have let her anywhere near you if we didn't think you'd turn out like this? Now stop being such a drama queen and get yourself changed already! You only have fifteen minutes until it's time to go! Cho chop!" Everybody agreed as Tyson and Max shoved Rey his clothes and stood around him with Mystel and Raul forming a barrier for him to change. The girl all went back to sitting on the floor and talking about this and that. Rey tried to suggest the bathroom but the others didn't listen and just told him to hurry up and get changed.
"Guys, is everybody decent in there?" Hiro's voice came from behind the door and Tyson groaned knowing his brother was about to drag them off to do chores for the rest of the day. "Yeah, come on in bro." Tyson shouted a little too loud causing everybody to be annoyed and start moaning and joking about with him as Hiro walked in and smiled as he lent back against the door waiting for Rey to finish changing. "And what thee hell did I just clean from all over the stairs and walls?" He glanced at Tyson who immediately took offense and just glared at his brother for assuming it was him when for once it actually wasn't.
"We have a theory that it was an unknown collaboration. Probably Johnny, Ian and Crusher who set up the rope to trip somebody." Mystel said remembering the events that had happened earlier and how quick the three were to begin talking. He then nudged Rey and couldn't help but smile as his friend yelped. "I was gonna tell him, and don't touch my ass again! That's not your property! Go and find Robert if you're thinking things like that!" Silence. Until everybody, including Mystel and Rey, burst out laughing and it took a few moments to calm everybody down.
"And it was probably Kevin who set up the bucket. He's a real sneaky one like that, always be on the look out, I mean it guys. And considering him and Ian kissed and will soon be dating an he was always on about Ian. But please don't punish them, it was what Hillary deserved after never shutting up about you, if they didn't do something I was going to do it myself!" He chuckled from behind his human shield as he continued to change.
"I won't, I mean she did try to kiss me earlier. But I think she finally got the message." Hiro smiled at the thought of finally not having to worry about some teenage girl obsessing over him all day. He then looked at his watch and was surprised when he saw the time. "Rey, you have five minutes, are you done yet?"
"Yeah, do I look okay?" He stepped out from behind the trio of boys and everybody just stared at him amazed. His hair was pulled back into a French braid including most of his fringe which meant that a few thin strands were left to frame his face and he was for once without his bandana. His eyes stood out more than normal thanks to the thin eyeliner framing his eyes thanks to Julia. He was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans that were slightly faded and matched his faded old converse that Max had given to him for their first Christmas as a team. He was then wearing a simple red short sleeved top that was tight enough to show off his muscles but not so tight that you could see every line on his body. He then went back to his bedside table, picked up his blading gloves and slid them on as well. He then saw Max and Mystel look at him. "I do appreciate everything guys and thanks for the outfit, I never would have found this without you guys. But there will be some serious games going on in that room and I will need my gloves."
Everybody just smiled at him and nobody really knew what to say. It was then that the bathroom door opened and everybody turned to face it expecting to see a ghost but were all relived for a moment at seeing Kai. They were then a little shocked as they saw him with a towel on his head and in nothing but a pair of jogger's water still covering his chest and back. Everybody quickly turned to Rey who was already looking around hoping one of them would help him out. But everybody was still too shocked to do anything even Hiro was quiet.
Kai however had completely forgotten about the people in his room. After everybody had had a good laugh at Hillary, he decided that he was being too stressed out and went to take a long shower to help ease his mind. And it had worked, it had worked so well that he had pretty much forgotten the entire world until he stepped outside of the bathroom and saw everybody else turn their heads from Rey to him. He then looked at Rey and actually knew he had missed something really good, he didn't know if Rey could have been a turning point in his life or anything serious like that but he knew Rey would have been a good impact no matter how they ended up. And he couldn't take his eyes off of the only thing he had every really wanted in his life.
Rey couldn't look at him, he was supposed to be getting over him, not finding more reasons why he shouldn't forget him! So he looked at the others, waiting for something to be said, but nothing! Everybody else was a little too shocked to bother helping their friend. After some time Rey looked at Hiro who nodded having just about gotten over his shock.
"Hurry up and get dressed Kai, you're still helping me today, just like everybody else. Now, Rey have fun and I would get going because I think Brooklyn's already gone." Hiro turned and smiled at everybody, even Kai before heading towards the door to see all of the other boys waving Brooklyn off downstairs and he smiled. "Come on, Rey you can't be late!" He grinned as all of the boys waited for the others to leave the room.
Rey tried to hide inside, not wanting everybody to see him. But he eventually gave up and smiled as he mad his way downstairs listening to the guys joke and give him luck and all. He laughed with them and was glad when he finally reached the ground and began walking off to find his date. He smiled, it was going to be an interesting say after all.
Tala noticed Kai stood by the Bladebreakers bedroom door just silently watching Rey go down. He walked over and saw the jealousy in Kai's eyes, it was clear how he felt. But Tala being Tala, felt the need to just double check first. "You regret not telling him now, right?"
"Of course I fucking do!" Kai smacked his friend on the head and shook his head at him, which caused Tala to only look at him surprised. "I thought you were a smart one Tala, guess not."
