Back to Normal

Decided to go ahead and make this the last chapter of the series and probably this will be the last squeal to this series of fics I have, not sure if I will return to making this series in the future.

" What!?" Sam wasn't taking the whole Milferds in a hospital from a sever allergic reaction drug overdose, broken foot, malnutrition, dysentery, malnutrition, and Acute dehydration.

" Hey how was we supposed to know he wouldn't call it quits before his body did? I mean He'd been sent home if he asked, not our fault." I hold my hands up in a gesture of placation.

" Fine." Sam sighed, he did warn Milferd it was a bad idea.

" On the bright side, he wasn't to badly infested with lice... " I smile innocently when Sam gives me a glare. Yea, what? We're vampires, we don't have to worry about those kinds of things, it's been 20 years since that was a worry for me.

Sam didn't see the humor in the situation.

" At least we brought him to the hospital?" I question Sam, I didn't like when he was upset with me, I didn't want him upset.

" He almost died..." Sam states.

" Well he was supposed to tell us he gives up, not wait till he was almost dead from... things. The food and water was clean I swear!" It just was a few hours old before we gave it to him. " He could have said take me home anytime, honest."

" I know, just." Sam sighed. " Milferd can be a little stubborn and focused, so he kinda needs someone to tell him no, enough for him."

I shrugged. " Well he's ok now and David's not going to let him back if he begs. David can be very tolerant, but Milferd even mange to test that." I rub my neck remembering the not so fun rip that went across it a couple days ago.

" That's good." Sam looked relieved that there wouldn't be a round two.

Milferd was a bit insane if he would want to try again. Don't see how he would want to take another run at being in our den, I don't understand why he tried the first time, knowing we didn't want him there, not only that, but that he is part of our diet, that he's food to us. Well he's from Santa Carla and did have a werewolf posing as a great, great, great grandpa to get his family to shelter him and his sick hunger for the flesh of children... Not a surprise Milferds a little wacko.

**** territory ****

Staking out the territory wasn't easy, but then not hard. We had to run out the current pack that was in the area and push a few packs in nearby areas into having smaller territory. We are a large pack in a rural area, so we need more territory, the other packs were small and easily handled one by one and easily maintained, the one that was within the main area itself had to leave completely.

Santa Carla was different, it was outlined in rural cities and our pack was already an established one that originally had a powerful elder, so few tried to take it. Now we have to defend constantly because we only came here recently and others will test us, up until we do get defeated and have to flee the area. Hopefully that won't be anytime soon if ever, Sam wouldn't want to be up rooted like that again.

Currently having to defend our territory is a hassle, a new pack has entered the area and is testing us, they're five to our seven, three males, two females, with us being five males two females, they're out numbered and with Dwayne, David, Marko and Paul, out aged. It's more puff and bluff, we don't attack unless pressed or out right challenged and so far none have wanted to do eye contact. More testing our ability to coordinate, after all they would be able to pick up on age, just not how well we can keep together and coordinate a fight.

One of them hisses and quickly is slapped down by Dwayne, the guy shakes his head after getting the full brunt of Dwaynes' strength up against his face. After that they decide to back off and leave us, ensuring our hold on the area was complete at least for now.
