Origins Of LUNR

Chapter 14: Overcome

The crowd cheered as a match was about to take place in the arena. People were excited about the match that showed up on the screen. Oobleck cleared his throat and then spoke into the mic.

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen we have an exciting match for you today! We have Uzziel and Regulus from Team LUNR! Facing off against Arrietty and Roy from Team ARAM!" He announced.

Ruby and her team were looking for seats when they saw Team ARAM and Team LUNR sitting together. Yang walked over to Lance who was sitting down watching and sat next to him.

"I thought you were going to be in the Double Battle." She said as she looked back at the stage. Arrossire crossed his arms and nodded "We thought the same thing too but this evil doer changed on us in the last minute." He shunned the rivaling team.

Lance put a hand on his forehead and shook his head "Man, you really need to get with the times and stop talking like that. We changed our strategy to suit us better, I don't see how that makes us evil."

"Oh? And what strategy did you guys come up with?" Blake asked.

Lance smirked as he continued to watch on "You're about to find out now." He responded.

Arrossire growled at his response "I should show you true justice!"

"Arro!"

Arrossire looked to his right to see Midori looking at him "They are not wrong for fixing their strategy." She scolded which made him pout.

As Roy and Arrietty stood across from Regulus and Uzziel, Arrietty smirked as she put a hand on her hips looking over at Regulus "I thought I'd see Lance here but they brought you out instead." She said.

"You sound disappointed," Regulus said with a serious look on his face.

"I mean you haven't shown me anything impressive," Arrietty stated.

Roy stood tall looking at Regulus "Either way we have to take you both down." He announced with confidence in his voice.

Uzziel smirked at this comment as he readied his weapon "We'll see about that." He responded.

"If both teams are ready, let the match begin!" Oobleck exclaimed.

As the match begun Roy unsheathed his sword and held it upwards with both hands. As his blade started to shine brightly he brought it down and slammed it on the ground releasing a powerful energy wave towards Regulus and Uzziel who jumped away from it.

"We'll go with that one plan!" Regulus called out.

"Got it!" Uzziel responded.

Arrietty smirked as she ran after Uzziel, she pulled out her weapon Rōzu. She spun around and swung her double-bladed Glaive with both hands. Uzziel dodged each strike as she kept up the attack.

Uzziel quickly used his Tonfa to block her glaive and then pressed off the ground to drop kick her in the chest.

As she stumbled backward she quickly transformed her weapon into a double barrel shotgun.

When Uzziel connected the kick into her chest he pressed off of her and back flipped in the air and landed on the ground.

Arrietty aimed her shotgun at Uzziel and fired two shots. Uzziel quickly blocked the shots with his Tonfas.

The crowd cheered loudly at the display. Uzziel quickly dashed at Arrietty as she transformed her weapon back into a glaive.

The two swung at one another making their weapons collide "Just as I thought, you're a tough opponent Uzziel." She said.

She then took her right hand off her weapon and balled up her fist. "But not tough enough." She added with a thrust of her fist and released a powerful air blast to Uzziel's stomach which sent him flying backward.

Uzziel was caught off guard but he was able to land on his feet. Arrietty smirked and got into a fighting stance with her weapon in one hand.

While that was going on Regulus was dodging Roy's swift blade swings with much agility despite his size. Regulus then blocked another attack with his lance and then delivered a swift kick to Roy's stomach.

He then jumped in the air and did a quick front flip and slammed his Lance on top of Roy's head which made him stumble back.

Before Roy could do anything else, Regulus ran after him and slammed his lance into the ground and then held onto it as he jumped up and kicked Roy in the face.

"Alright! That's the way Regulus!" Nolo cheered from his seat.

Arrossire glared at Nolo who was extremely happy "It's not going to go the way you think it will." He said.

Midori heard this and tapped his shoulder "Stop being mean Arro we're all supposed to be friends here."

Lance smirked at her comment and looked at Arrossire "Yeah Arro, calm down a bit." He teased.

Arrossire pouted once more as he crossed his arms which made her smile at him.

As this was going on Arrietty looked to her left to see Regulus transform his weapon into a Gatling gun and aim it at Roy.

She smirked and transformed her weapon into a double barrel shotgun and aimed it at Regulus which Uzziel noticed.

"Regulus!" He called out.

Regulus turned his head to see Arrietty aiming at him. Once she fired a shot, he quickly jumped to the side, dodging the attack.

Roy noticed this and quickly raised up his sword and then brought it down releasing a huge energy wave that engulfed Regulus as he landed and sent him to the ground.

"Damn it!" Uzziel exclaimed.

"I'd be worried about myself," Arrietty called out.

As Uzziel turned his attention back to Arrietty, he noticed that she was running towards him, transforming her weapon back into a double blade Glaive. As he got ready to jump back, Arrietty started to move faster and faster until she was moving so fast that it looked like she was teleporting.

She passed by Uzziel at a blinding speed, slashing him in the process. Yang's eyes went wide as she stood up in shock "Ruby that's your semblance." She called out.

Ruby was just as shocked "But how?" She asked.

Arrossire grinned along with a smile from Midori and continued to look at Arrietty "As you saw when she fought Nolorona, Arrietty's semblance is special. She's able to copy any Semblance she sees once she touches the owner of that semblance." She explained.

"I did hug her earlier today," Ruby stated.

"She had copied your semblance days ago Ruby," Midori replied.

Weiss looked back at Uzziel who was getting attacked over and over again as Arrietty was dashing back and forth, slashing him. "Who here has touched her?" She asked as she looked at her team, which they replied by putting their heads down.

"Wait a minute, Yang you too!" Lance exclaimed.

"Yeah, I shook her hand two days ago," Yang responded.

Weiss eyes went wide as she turned back to the match "Oh no…"

As she said that Arrietty dashed by Uzziel once more and then went for another. Uzziel noticed this and with quick thinking raised his right foot up and tried to kick her as she dashed forward.

As his foot connected, Arrietty's body burst into flames. Arrietty could now be seen behind the flames with a smirk on her face.

The flames exploded and sent Uzziel flying backward. Arrietty knew she had Uzziel where she wanted him and was ready to prove it as she closed her eyes and opened them again. Her eyes which were sapphire were now a burning red.

Her hair started to glow brightly as the fire started to form around her. She quickly dashed forward towards Uzziel who had now caught his ground and as she reached him she delivered two shots to his face.

The blows made him stumble back, but as she was getting ready to deliver one more blow he blocked the attack with his tonfa, he then pushed back in the process.

As this was going on Regulus who was knocked to the ground by the last attack was trying to get up. Roy walked over to him and kicked him back down to the ground once Regulus made it to his knees.

Regulus was now lying face flat on the floor and Roy walked over to him and put a foot on his back. "This is the end." He said he started to raise his sword.

He then stopped his movement and turned his head towards Uzziel. Regulus noticed this and looked to see that Uzziel was focused on Arrietty who was still using Yang's semblance. Roy lifted his sword and channeled yellow energy inside the blade making it glow once more.

Regulus knew exactly what he was up too. As Roy released the energy wave by swinging his sword downwards, Regulus quickly grabbed onto his legs.

"What are you doing?" Roy asked as he looked down at Regulus.

Uzziel who heard the attack being launched looked to see the blast coming towards him. Before he could react a portal appeared in front of him and stopped the blast from hitting Uzziel. Arrietty was shocked at seeing this "What the… Roy look out!"

Roy was now trying to free himself from Regulus grip who smirked: "Now it's the end!" He exclaimed as a portal opened up above both Regulus and Roy. The Portal then released the same blast that Roy had launched and sent it crashing down on the two huntsmen.

"Both Regulus and Roy are out of the match!" Oobleck announced.

Arrietty growled as Uzziel smirked at her "Looks like things didn't go the way you planned." He mocked.

Arrietty glared at him "If you think it's over you got another thing coming. I know just how to beat you!" She said as she stopped using Yang's semblance and smirked as a white glyph appeared behind her.

She quickly jumped on it with her weapon in hand and in seconds she pressed off the glyph and dashed at Uzziel as fast as a lightning bolt.

Uzziel readied himself as she was preparing to dash off the glyph. A red aura formed around him, shaped like a gorilla. She made her way towards him Uzziel jumped back two steps and with a swift movement he leaned back and uppercut Arrietty, sending her flying into the air.

Everyone was left in awe as they watched on. "How did he do that?" Arrossire asked in shock. Lance noticed the tone in his voice and smirked as she continued to watch.

As Arrietty was sent flying upwards into the air Uzziel quickly jumped into the air after her. As he reached her quickly using the back of his fist to assault her stomach and send her downwards. Uzziel maneuvered his way downwards after her.

"Get back here, I'm not done yet!" He exclaimed as he spun around sideways and delivered a devastating blow to the stomach with the Gorilla aura blarring brightly around him and she hit the ground. "Grand Kong Combo!" Uzziel exclaimed as he connected the blow. Uzziel then landed on his feet as Arrietty laid on the ground gasping for air. The arena was in utter shock at what they had just seen you could hear nothing.

"Arrietty's aura has dropped, that means Team LUNR will be advancing the next round!" Port announced. The arena was soon filled with cheers as everyone was very happy with the match.

"YES! Way to go Uzziel!" Nolo yelled out as he stood up.

Arrossire was in utter shock, he couldn't believe that his team had just lost to Team LUNR. "Th-they won…" He muttered to himself.

"Wow! They were amazing!" Ruby exclaimed in happiness.

Weiss smiled as she saw Uzziel stand proudly with his usual serious expression. Uzziel looked over at Regulus who was being helped up by Roy. He walked over to Arrietty who was starting to get up and extended his hand.

"How did you counter my attack?" Arrietty asked.

Uzziel smiled at her and closed her eyes "I've been friends with her since I was a child. I know her semblance inside and out, including the speed and velocity." He explained.

Arrietty went wide eyed for a moment before chuckling and taking his hand "I should've known, my mistake." She replied. The two shook hands as the crowd continued to cheer them on.

Later on that evening in a certain Beacon dorm room, Cinder Fall was sitting on her bed looking through files on her Scroll. Emerald was lying on the floor also playing with her own device, and Mercury Black was doing push-ups beside her.

"Oh!" Cinder said to herself as her eyes widened in surprise, followed by a smile.

"What?" Emerald asked as she looked over with Mercury.

"Oh, nothing. We're just going to be making a slight, hmm... alternation in the plan." Cinder replied as she accessed a document regarding the blueprints of "P.E.N.N.Y."

"What does that mean?" Mercury asked as he and Emerald shared a somewhat concerned look.

"It means that this will be even easier than we thought." Cinder said while continuing to look at the familiar image of a robotic redhead.

Meanwhile….

Within the headmaster's office at twilight, Professor Ozpin was facing the window, his back to the elevators when the doors open and Qrow and Jarvin steps inside, approaching his desk with a coffee mug in hand.

"You know, he's making you look like a fool," Qrow stated frankly.

Ozpin shook his head "His heart is in the right place. He's just... misguided."

"Sometimes, I'm not even sure he has a heart." Jarvin said as he takes a drink from his cup and shifts his weight before asking "So, have you chosen your guardian yet?"

Ozpin swirled his chair around to face Qrow and Jarvin "Maidens choose themselves. I simply believe I've found the right candidate. Ever since the day I met her, I had the feeling she would be the one. She's strong, intelligent, caring... but most importantly, she's ready."

As he lists these qualities off, Pyrrha Nikos is seen entering the elevator of the Cross Continental Transmit System tower. She turns just when the doors close on her ominous smile.
