Chapter 14

A/N: If anyone can spot the 501st trooper that was mentioned in the previous chapter and there is also one in this chapter as well, a place in clan Akaan will be rewarded to anyone who can find them.
A/N: I'm not that good at writing action scenes and describing tunnels.
Hint: Look for the details.
Disclaimer: Star Wars Rebels is not mein property, if it was I'd make sure the stormtroopers weren't nimrods and the Empire would actually use real well trained soldiers. All I own are my OCs and Yitzhak belongs to the Horned King II.
Now on with the Story!
"So you want my men to create a diversion to lure the Imperial forces away from the base?" The Trandoshan asked Leonidas, "Why?"
"None of your concern", Leonidas answered, "If you want your spice manifest, you'll do it."
"And why should I risk my firepower?" The Trandoshan asked.
"Perhaps we could sell this manifest along with your bases location to the Empire" Sabine said, "I know they'll pay a pretty penny for it."
The Trandoshan growled; he even considered sending his men to steal it from them by force. But then he took some facts into account, four rebels were able to do in a few hours what his militia couldn't do in days.
"Fine you have yourself a deal."
"Good, meet me and my crew at these coordinates." Leonidas instructed handing the Trandoshan a holocom.
The Trandoshan nodded and had his guards show the four rebels the way out.
"Nightwolf to Seraph, mission complete." Leonidas spoke into his helmet com.
"Seraph to Nightwolf, well done." Kanan said, "Send Gearshift and Flare to the extraction point, I'm sending you the coordinates now. You and Twister head to the meeting point."
"Affirmative sir, Gearshift, Flare!" Leonidas ordered, "Head to the extraction point, Seraph will give you further orders when you get there."
"Yes sir!" Ezra and Rosa saluted at the same time. The two went back to their speeders and left, leaving Leonidas and Sabine alone.
Leonidas removed his helmet and Sabine followed suit. The two walked through the streets with no sound of gunfire in the distance, just peace and calm.
"It's nice to have some peace for once." Leonidas stated.
"I know, normally it's all hustle bustle", Sabine agreed, "But its times like these, these intermissions between missions that I enjoy the most."
"There's one thing I like more." Leonidas said.
"And what's that?" Sabine asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Enjoying it with my gorgeous girlfriend after a job well done." Leonidas answered.
"Leonidas, you know how to compliment a girl." Sabine playfully replied.
"Rosa is just like you, Sabine, it definitely explains why you are sisters." Leonidas stated.
"Yep, when we were young Rosa looked up to me and mimicked everything I did." Sabine explained.
"Hence the hair dye." Leonidas surmised, Sabine just smiled and nodded.
"She and I were close but she was a little too loyal to her superiors", Sabine continued, "So when I decided to leave the Imperial Academy, she didn't want to come. She said it was treason."
"So that was when you two split paths?" Leonidas asked.
"Yep, it's good to have her back now." Sabine said slightly tearful.
"I apologize, Sabine, I didn't mean to make you revisit a sad memory." Leonidas apologized.
"Don't worry Leonidas, and besides", Sabine stopped and gave him a kiss on the cheek, "It's nice to know you care."
"If this is my reward I should ask you about your past more often." Leonidas said jokingly. Sabine just giggled and walked on with her boyfriend enjoying the quite night.
"One more thing Sabine", Leonidas said to the female Mando before grabbing something from his supply pack, "I made this for you during my spare time."
Sabine gasped at his gift, it was a stone slab with a painting depicting the two's first meeting with each other on Tatooine, and the painting showed Leonidas shaking hands with Sabine both with smiles evident on their faces. The painting looked almost lifelike.
"What do you think?" Leonidas asked nervously.
"Leonidas…" Sabine stuttered, "It's beautiful, thank you!"
"Really?" Leonidas asked in disbelief.
"Of course." Sabine exclaimed.
"When did you begin painting?" Sabine asked Leonidas.
"I tried painting when I was eight, my father said I was missing my inspiration, my muse. He said that one day I would make a great painting when my inspiration came."
"What is your inspiration?" Sabine asked.
"You, Sabine Wren, you are my muse." Leonidas answered.
Meanwhile on the outskirts….
"So Rosa, I'd like to apologize for the way I acted towards you yesterday", Ezra said to Rosa sincerely, "I deserved that kick."
"You're forgiven, Ezra." Rosa said to him. The two were on their speeders and were communicating via helmetcoms.
"Besides, I owe you a thank you for saving me from that Imperial Officer." Rosa said.
"Think nothing of it Rosa, you would have done the same for me." Ezra replied.
"A lot has been going on huh?" Ezra stated.
"That's an understatement", Rosa said, "I still can't believe big sis has a boyfriend, I hope he's good to her."
"I know, but she's in good hands, Leonidas cares deeply for her." Ezra reassured Rosa.
"How do you know?" Rosa asked.
"When he first met her during the pit fight tournament on Tatooine, he carried her to the medics when he defeated her. When they met again at the bazaar Leonidas showed no hostility towards her and was even friendly. When he was introduced to the crew he showed them no hostility either and respected us. He sleeps in the spare bunk in Sabine's room, he even helped clean up the whole room."
"Not an easy feet." Rosa commented dryly; she knew just how messy her sister could be with her artwork.
Ezra chuckled before continuing, "When we attacked the ISB HQ on Lothal he met an officer who played a role in the genocide of his clan, Captain Krunglin, and he lost control of his emotions. In his unstable state he hid the shadows of his and Sabine's room, even Kanan didn't stand a chance against him, but Sabine went in there and talked to him. Sabine listened to him and he explained why he reacted the way he did. Everything was settled after that and all was forgiven. Then when we were ambushed at a Saleucami refueling station, he stayed behind to hold off the Shadow Guards and Stormtroopers so we could get Kanan to safety. When he broke out of the prison and we extracted him, he and Sabine officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. He's been very protective of her before, but now any enemy who harms her will rue the day they were born."
"I'd say Sabine is a lucky Mando to meet a guy like him." Rosa said with a smile, although it wasn't visible due to her helmet.
Before the two knew it they were at the extraction point where Kanan and Maximus were waiting for them.
"Good to see you are all in one piece." Maximus stated.
"Are Nightwolf and Twister proceeding as planned?" Kanan asked.
"Affirmative sir!" Ezra and Rosa said in sync.
"Good, Warbeast and Magma will provide sniper support, Yitzhak called in a few favors so some of his militia will help as well." Kanan continued.
"What's our next move?" Rosa asked.
"Now we decide who goes with Leonidas and Sabine for the op." Kanan says.
"I'm going with." Maximus said.
"And so will I." a voice came. The group turned to see it was Yitzhak.
"Yitzhak?" Kanan stated.
"My son is in there and I want to make those Imperial scumbags pay!" Yitzhak growled with venom in his voice.
"Alright then who else?" Kanan asked.
"Rosa and I will join in." Ezra volunteered.
"Alright then, Cortez, round up everyone else return to base and prepare it for the cadets and fortify it." Kanan ordered into his comlink.
"Roger that!" Cortez acknowledged.
"Get going to the Phantom you four, operation Righteous Revolt is a go!" Kanan shouted in an authoritive voice. The four rebels made their way to the Phantom where Hera was waiting for them.
"We'll be landing on the outskirts of the rendezvous point, when you need extraction signal me with red smoke." Hera explained.
"Understood!" Maximus acknowledged.
"Alright everyone strap in, we have some Imperials to fight!" Yitzhak ordered in a voice even more authoritive than Kanan's. (Imagine Rorke's voice from COD Ghosts and you'll know what I mean).
Everyone complied and enjoyed the ride. After 15 minutes the Phantom landed on the dusty grounds of the slums' outskirts.
"Alright, we've landed, get the rendezvous point and proceed with the plan. Leonidas will brief you when you get there now go!" Hera informed them.
Everyone got out of the Phantom and followed Yitzhak through the tall grass fields.
"The outskirts are mostly deserted but stay on your toes, patrols might be active in these areas." Yitzhak ordered the rebels. Leonidas may be second in command but Yitzhak outranked the whole crew in terms of experience, a fact that Leonidas accepted without question or hesitation.
"Stay low and make sure your head in below the tall grass." Yitzhak instructed.
The trip was silent for about five minutes until Maximus said, "Got movement up ahead."
"Standby!" Yitzhak ordered, "Rosa do you have a visual on the tango?"
"Give me a second", Rosa replied while using her Macrobinoculars to scan the area, "Enemy TIE get down!"
The group went prone and didn't dare move an inch. The TIE flew ahead with a spotlight attached to the bottom of the cockpit scanning the area but couldn't see the prone forms of the rebels. Once the TIE fighter moved along the crew proceeded to advance through the fields. They encountered a TIE patroller every now and then but succeeded in evading them and making it to the slums.
"This is Proton", Yitzhak said using his codename into his helmet com, "Nightwolf do you have a visual on us we are at the regrouping point, over?"
"Affirmative Proton, Twister and I are moving down from the rooftops." Leonidas reported. The two Mandos shimmied down the building and regrouped with the others.
"Nice to see you guys, ready to do this?" Leonidas asked.
"You know it brother!" Maximus exclaimed enthusiastically.
"Great then follow me." Leonidas replied.
The group followed him through the maze of slums to the rendezvous point. The Trandoshan named Salazar was there with two Nikto guards.
"I wasss beginning to exssspect that you runtsss wouldn't sshow up!" Salazar stated.
"I assure you, we Mandos are true to our word." Yitzhak said.
"Whatever you sssay, now letsss get down to businessss." Salazar replied nonchalantly.
"Of course Salazar." Leonidas said handing him the spice manifest.
"My precioussss ssspice manifessst." Salazar said happily.
"I've already given you the plan, but remember any funny business", Leonidas said and gestured towards Sabine who had her finger on her comlink, "And we'll sell your gangs' location to the Empire."
"I know that!" Salazar snapped.
"Then let's get down to business!" Yitzhak said impatiently.
"I'm going to return back to my bassse." Salazar explained, "Exssspect gunfire to be heard in thirty minutesss."
Once the thugs left, Leonidas told his comrades the plan, "With the security contending with the Crimson Hawk gangsters the following points will be vulnerable."
Leonidas pulled out a holographic display of the Academy with three points highlighted, "The highlighted areas represent the three weak spots, the ventilation shafts, the maintenance tunnels, and the most risky is the sub entrance, the security in this spot is reduced substantially when the thugs attack but still it will possess the most hostiles of the three."
"I'll take the sub entrance." Yitzhak said.
"Are you sure, master?" Leonidas asked.
"I want revenge for what they did to my family and for taking and manipulating my son!" Yitzhak answered.
"I also called in a few favors, some members of my old military will provide us with some sniper support." Yitzhak continued.
"Alright then, Ezra and Rosa will enter through the ventilation systems, Sabine, Maximus, and I will enter through the Maintenance tunnels, they possess more security then one would think." Leonidas announced.
"Alright then, let's relocate to the designated rooftops, we only have 20 minutes before we have to get this show on the road!" Maximus exclaimed.
"Are the troopsss in position?" Salazar asked a Koopaz guard.
"Yes sir, shall I send the order?" the Koopaz asked and Salazar nodded.
Elsewhere….
An imperial landing zone was receiving supplies and troopers were unloading them and chatting.
"This has got to be the easiest job in the Imperial Military." One trooper commented.
"I know rig…" the second trooper was cut off by a green flare shooting up into the sky.
"What is that?" a trooper asked.
"How should I kno..?" a trooper replied before getting shot in the back.
"The shot came from the roof open fire!"
The Crimson Hawk gangsters let out a mighty OORAH before the firefight ensued.
"Get to cover!" a stormtrooper with blue markings on his armor ordered. The stormtroopers scrambled for cover but a few were mowed down from the gunfire.
"Return fire!"
The stormtroopers were firing back at the thugs but the thugs were also emerging from the alleys. Blaster bolts whistled all around the troopers and thugs.
"This is SC-17089764, we are under attack by Crimson Hawk gangsters!" the Trooper yelled into his wristcom before shooting a thug who broke cover.
Meanwhile at the Imperial Communications Depot….
A shadowy figure was watching the Imperial activities before noticing the green flare. A second shadowy figure walked up next to him and nodded.
"That's the signal."
"Open fire."
An imperial officer was taking inventory on some random supplies before a sniper bolt went right through his skull. Another imperial soldier was shot down by the mysterious snipers. While Imperial soldiers were in shock Crimson Hawk gangsters emerged from the alleys and began to attack the Communications depot. The Imperial security guards got into positions and a few manned the turrets. The two sides were now making the field a warzone.
Elsewhere….
"Sir we have received words that thugs are assaulting our Communications and Supply depots!" An Officer reported to his superior.
"Send the closest forces to engage." The Commander ordered.
"But that's our security for the Academy." The officer said.
"I don't care, if we lose those points we'll be dealt a heavy blow."
Now back with the six rebels…
"There's the flare!" Maximus exclaimed. The rebels were currently positioned on the rooftops adjacent to the academy.
"Okay people, fire the ropes."
The rebels each pressed a button on their wrist gauntlets and a grappling hook fired from them and hit clasped themselves onto the Academy's wall. They then used the gauntlets' magnetic feature to secure the line by attaching the gauntlets themselves to the rooftop.
"Good luck everybody!" Ezra said before gliding across the line using a spare pipe. Everyone else followed suit and Yitzhak used his hands! As Leonidas's group approached the objective Leonidas raised his hand and curled it into a fist when they had to drop. As they dropped they landed on two Imperial Maintenance officers.
"This is group Beta to group Gamma, do you hear me Gearshift?" Leonidas spoke into his wristcom.
"We here ya Nightwolf, Flare and I are moving through the ventilation shafts." Ezra reported in.
"I'm sending coordinates to your HUD, follow them and they will lead you to the safe room where Quasar Company is holed up. Be sure to scavenge any weapons you can off of any hostiles, the cadets will need 'em." Maximus ordered.
"Affirmative Solar, proceeding with the objective." Rosa replied using Maximus's codename.
"Let's move!" Sabine interjected.
The group spotted and deactivated the Maintenance Astromech that was patrolling the tunnel entrance. The smell of the tunnels was nothing new to the rebels but what was new to them was the size and detail of tunnels, it looked like a metro tunnel.
"There's way more activity then we originally thought." Sabine said.
"They probably upped security so people like us don't use the tunnels for escape." Maximus answered.
"We aren't going to let that slow us down." Leonidas stated. "Throw some tear gas."
Sabine nodded and took a cylinder out of her supply pack and pulled the ring off the side of its top and proceeded to chuck it down the pipe. Gas was released and the Imperial security near it were coughing and gasping for air.
"Go now!" Leonidas shouted and the group switched to thermal optics to see through the gas.
"Secure your helmets!" Maximus; being the weapons expert, shouted. The rebels finally sealed their helmets to keep the gas out. The rebels mowed down the troops and proceeded through the tunnels and released tear gas on the security patrols that they encountered.
"Initiating Ventilation"
A robotic voice announced and the vents sucked away the tear gas.
"Looks like we lost our chemical advantage." Maximus stated.
"Then we will do this the way we always have." Leonidas exclaimed.
Sabine drew her pistols, Maximus took out his rifle and Leonidas took out his Darksaber.
"It's the rebels, blast 'em!" A stormtrooper shouted to the other reinforcement troopers.
"There is no cover in here!" Sabine shouted.
"Activate your wrist shields!" Leonidas ordered. Sabine activated her shield which was larger than most, like a riot shield.
"I'll draw their fire with the shield, you take the shot!" Sabine yelled.
Sabine moved forward and drew the troopers' fire while Maximus and Leonidas used their free hands to draw their pistols and open fire on the troops. Since the troopers didn't have energy shields they were mowed down easily.
"Here we are, Twister you're up!" Leonidas told Sabine.
Sabine pulled out a blow torch and cut a hole through the ceiling and hopped up, a few blaster shots are here and a few thuds could be heard on the ground. Sabine then helped Leonidas up, then Maximus.
"Gearshift, this is Nightwolf we have made it to the rendezvous point, are you there over?" Leonidas spoke into his wristcom.
"I hear ya Nightwolf, coming out of the vents now." Ezra replied. The air vent grate was kicked off by Ezra who proceeded to drop down to the ground with Rosa following soon after.
"Time to get into the safe room." Leonidas announced.
Rosa took off the control panel and rewired it like a pro. The door opened revealing Quasar Company and Major Jarvis Viron waiting for them.
"Glad to see you guys made it!" Jarvis said.
"Same here Jarvis, did Quasar Company set the explosives as I instructed?" Leonidas asked.
"Yes we did, wasn't easy but we did it!" McCoy chimed in.
"Good to here, take these blasters, share it out and conserve ammo." Maximus said.
"Who is he?" Jarvis asked.
"No time to explain."
30 minutes earlier (When the op began)…
At the sub entrance to the Academy, two stormtroopers stood attentively looking out for intruders. The troopers snapped into attention when they heard footsteps approaching, a shadowy figure was moving towards them.
"Halt, put your hands up" A trooper demanded, "Or we will fire on you!"
The figure sprinted forward and grabbed both troopers' throats and chocked the life out of them, the figure was Yitzhak. Yitzhak proceed to punch the control panel and the door opened. More Stormtroopers were present and opened fire upon him. Yitzhak skillfully dodged the shots and drew his pistols, he then shot two troops down. He then disarmed the other and snapped his neck.
"We need support!" a stormtrooper screamed.
Four riot troopers were sprinting down the halls to stop Yitzhak, but the Mandalorian chucked a thermal detonator stopping the troops and allowing him to proceed to the objective. Fighting through a few Imperials here and there he finally made it to the rendezvous point.
"Yitzhak, glad to see you made it!" Leonidas exclaimed.
"Same here my apprentice." Yitzhak replied, "And are these fine looking cadets Quasar Company?"
"Yes sir, cadets this is Yitzhak Diluvium, my master." Leonidas introduced and the cadets saluted.
"Father?" Jacob asked.
"Jacob?" Yitzhak asked.
The cadets ran up and hugged his father both with tears of joy in their eyes.
"I thought you were dead." Jacob said; the cadets and rebels were touched by the reunion.
"You know me son, I don't die that easily." Yitzhak replied.
"I hate to break up the reunion but we gotta run!" Rosa interjected.
"Let's go cadets! To the landing platform!" Maximus yelled.
The group sprinted through the complex and through blast doors to get to the pad; thankfully the complex was mostly deserted. There were still some imperials on the platform.
"Hey, it's the rebels, and they have some cadets hostage!" a stormtrooper yelled to his comrades.
"Take positions cadets." Jarvis ordered.
The cadets got behind cover and opened fire. The Mandos took the initiative with Maximus providing sniper support and Sabine using explosives, Yitzhak and Leonidas had their blades drawn and were deflecting shots.
"Those cadets aren't hostages, their traitors!" a Stormtrooper shouted.
"Yitzhak to Phantom, we are at the LZ and need immediate extraction over!" Yitzhak said with urgency into the comlink.
"Affirmative, standby." Hera replied. Soon after she said that the Phantom appeared and fired at the Imperials on the pad clearing it all out.
"Get into the shuttle!" Leonidas shouted. Everyone complied and piled into the Phantom. It was truly amazing at how many passengers the Phantom could carry.
The Phantom then flew away with stormtroopers shooting at it without success.
Operation Righteous Revolt: Completed with extreme prejudice.
