Chapter 14

Laura's POV-

I laughed and turned over. I wasn't awake, and I didn't want to be until someone started kissing me. I found myself smiling and opened my eyes.

Oddly enough, I wasn't expecting what I saw. What I'd expected left my mind as soon as my eyes met Paul's. I smiled and put my arms around him. He smiled back and I signed before cuddling up to him.

"Hey," I mumbled sleepily.

"Hey," he responded kissing my cheek several times. I giggled and closed my eyes, wanting nothing more than to go back to sleep. That's when George came to mind. Why I was thinking about George suddenly, I didn't know, but I remembered I said I would go to Liverpool with him.

"I have to go and find George!"

Paul frowned as I sat up. "What for?" He watched me run around the room as I put on my shoes and threw up my hair.

"I told him I'd go to Liverpool with him." I said quickly. Suddenly Paul had a firm, but gentle grasp on my arm. I turned and looked at him, finding his sad puppy dog expression.

"You're leaving?" he asked quietly. I shrugged and pulled my arm free.

"I guess." I said awkwardly. Paul sighed and pulled on my hand again.

"But I don't want you to." he said, making me look at him again. he looked so sad, and I could barely stand it.

"Why not?" I asked squeezing his hand. Paul suddenly drew me into a tight hug.

"What if I never see you again?" he asked sounding worried.

I sighed and hugged him back, "You will! I promise." I whispered. Paul didn't let go for a long time and I knew I'd miss George if I didn't go now.

"But How do you know?" Paul asked as I pulled away from him. I sighed and looked toward the closed door.

"I just..." I couldn't come up with a reason, "do." Paul didn't buy it. I kissed her cheek and walked toward the door.

"I know you like him," Paul said. I froze with my hand on the door. Did I like George? I didn't even know.

"No I don't Paul." I sighed and tuned around. "I went out with you! Not him."

"You've slept in his room the last two nights. I saw your face when you saw him kissing that bird last night." Paul said as I walked toward him, "I saw the way you looked at him the other night when you were dancing with him."

"Paul, stop it." I said standing in front of him. "I went out with you didn't I?" Paul nodded and sat down on the bed, "So, I like you!"

Paul shrugged and I sat down next to him. I took his hand and Paul looked at me with his head tilted to the side. "But do you have to go?" He asked, sounding like a little boy who's mother was about to leave him. I kissed his cheek and sighed.

"But he asked me to come with him." I said, almost pleadingly. I wanted to go with George too terribly badly to let Paul talk me out of it.

"Well you can tell him you don't want to go!" Paul begged. "Please, stay here with me."

"But I do want to go." I said shaking my head at him.

"Why?" Paul asked looking angry.

"He just doesn't want to go alone." I said trying to keep him calm. "That's the only reason I'm going." Paul wasn't buying still.

"Would you want to go if he didn't ask you along?" Paul asked looking Jealous.

"Paul, I don't know why you're so worked up about this! I want to go to Liverpool! That's all! It's got nothing to do with who else is going!" I knew Paul was jealous, but I didn't like George like he thought I did!

Paul took my hands tightly in his before he brought his lips to mine roughly. I was surprised, but it was still rather nice. I kissed him back and wrapped my arms around his neck. Paul pulled back and kissed my cheek lightly. "Please, don't go." he whispered, "I want you to stay here." he kissed me again, "It doesn't matter that George asked you. I need you to stay." I sighed and turned away from him.

"But I wanna go, Paul." I sighed and felt bad. I didn't want to leave Paul, but I wanted to go to Liverpool.

"Please?" Paul asked turning my face to look at him. I sighed and put my head on his shoulder.

"I'll stay." I said. I looked up at him and he kissed me lightly. I was disappointed, but I knew Id have to get over it. I got up and walked toward the door.

"I'm going to get some tea." I said before I walked out of his room. George and Violet were in there talking. George smiled at me and I sighed, feeling awkward.

I told George I couldn't go with him and he didn't seem to thrilled about it. Violet said she was going along and I felt a bit better about not going, but I still really wanted to go.

They left later and I was left in Hamburg with the rest of the Beatles. We went to a club that night because the boys had to play, and I wondered how they were gonna play without George.

Turns out, Paul took lead guitar and the problem was fixed. I sat and watched them perform with Astrid and when they finished their first set, they all came and got drinks and talked for a bit.

Stu didn't seem to find it very nice that Violet snuck off with George. I didn't like it either, but I kept my mouth shut. Paul was sitting next me and he had his arm around me. I put my head on his shoulder and sighed. He suddenly stood up.

"Come outside with me?" He asked. I shrugged and followed him outside. He took my hand in his and lit up a cigarette. I scrunched up my nose and he laughed.

"I'm sorry, I can put it out." He said. I shook my head and leaned against the wall.

"Nah, I'm fine." I waved him off and he put his arm around my waist.

"I'm sorry." he said seriously, "I know you wanted to go with George. And I was being selfish and-"

I stopped him by kissing him, "Its fine Paul. I was just worried he'd be lonely. Violet went with him. He'll be fine." I smiled at put my arms around his neck. He grinned and I ruffled his Teddy boy hair. He scowled lightly and I laughed. Paul kissed my cheek and smiled suddenly.

"Do you wanna race?" I frowned and laughed at him.

"Race to where?" I asked pecking his lips quickly. Paul shrugged and I took off. I heard him laugh as he started to follow me.

"No fair!" He yelled after me. I giggled and turned a corner. Paul wasn't far behind me and I was about to turn another corner when I ran right into someone.

"Oh Fellas, look at this lovely bird!" a teddy said grabbing my arm. My eyes got wide as Paul caught up to me.

"Oi! Get you're grubby hands of my girl!" He hollered. I was expecting a major fight to break out, but Paul swung one punch and then we were running for our lives.

We managed to get back to the apartment before either of us looked back. We collapsed on the couch and Paul put his arms around me.

"Are you alright, love?" He asked sweetly. I shrugged and he looked at my arm where the Teddy had grabbed me. It was a bit red, bit I was alright. Paul cutely kissed my arm as the others came back finally. Stu was all alone, Ringo looked tired, and John looked grumpy. He'd of course been grumpy since George left with Violet. He only missed her, and I was sure he had some resent toward George for taking her away built up inside him.

But! Since George was gone, that left an open room. I called dibs on it, and that was where I slept for the remainder of my stay in Hamburg.
