Chapter 13: Surprise Visit Part III: Conclusion
Date: 7/4/38
hours 20:23
Location: Manhattan Ruins
Subject: Carly Tales
I kept away from the group while Mark's friends, Dave and Anna try and heal the Pidgeotto that had landed not long ago with a medical kit they stole from the city. Mark and Kai the psycho Vaporeon, however, were keeping a close eye on the morph soldiers. Amazingly enough, they haven't noticed us yet, but Mark says that we might be discovered soon making me feel uneasy.
My mind was filled with questions, one of them being 'what am I doing here?' But many of them wondering about Kai and Chelsea the Pidgeotto… what are these Pokémorphs doing here in the ruins? I always thought that all morphs lived in the city not here.
However my biggest question, one I probably will never get an answer for is why is the military after Mark? Sure yeah, Mark has to be the most amazing and daring human to have ever been born and yeah he's been a pain our tails for years… but he's still just a human. He doesn't even have access to any firearms so what's the threat?
"Okay Chels, this may sting a little." Dave warned spaying a bottle of super potion on the bird's wing. "Ah!" Chelsea cried. "That doesn't sting, it hurts!" She yelled. "Quit bitching, you want feel better or not?" Dave shouted. "GUYS!" Mark shouted glaring back at us. "Keep it down, will you?" He said in a hushed voice once more looking at the morph soldiers. "You nearly blew our cover." Kai quickly added.
"Well don't blame me." Dave sassed. "Blame little miss squawks-a-lot over here." The human pointed at Chelsea. "Hey!" Chelsea yelled getting up only to fall flat on her beak. "Chelsea!" Anna urgently said helping her sit upright. "Chelsea, you're in no condition to be up and walking around." Anna reprimanded the flying type. "Please just lie down and rest for now." Anna pleaded. The bird just grumbled something under hear breath and nodded sowing that she'll cooperate.
From that point on, no one said a thing. Not one word… the only sound that could be heard was the sound of circling helicopters. "…How long are those assholes going to be there?" Dave asked "I mean it's getting late and the Houndoom will be out soon." Dave announced. "And I don't about any of you, I but don't feel like becoming some mutt's dinner."
"Anna, please slap Dave over the head for me." Mark requested. "With pleasure." The girl giggled and happily did as she was told. "AH! Anna!" Anna giggled again while Dave rubbed the back of sore head, cursing under his breath.
"However Dave does have a point, Mark." Kai suddenly said. "It is getting late and we can't take our chances with the stray Pokémon and a wounded bird in our party." The Vaporeon said pointing at Chelsea.
"…I think Kai's got a point, Mark." I meekly spoke up, very awkwardly I might add. "I-I think we should get as far away from here as possible." I quickly added. "Yeah? Well who asked you think." Dave rudely responded. "You're an unwanted 'guest' so shut up and go sit in a corner somewhere before you set us all on fire, you little six tailed freak." The boy growled making me feel like crap.
"Why don't you, Dave?" Anna spoke up, slapping Dave in the back of his head again. "There's no need to be so racist, Dave. You can't blame a person for being born the way they are!" Anna defended me.
"Anna, why are you so willing to defend someone you just met?" Kai asked obviously still a little untrusting of me. "Well Carly hasn't attacked us so I figured-" "Exactly my point, Anna." Dave interrupted. "You figure she won't attack. How do you know she won't fry us the moment our backs are turned?"
"If she really wanted to kill us, she would've tried that a long time." Mark pointed out. "Besides, I've actually gotten to know her, Carly's just some dumb kid who let curiosity get the better of her. She's no threat us." He explained in an attempt to get them to claim them down. Although I was a little upset with Mark's choice of words (Me dumb? I was the valedictorian of my eighth grade class!) I felt very relieved when he spoke in my defense.
"Like hell she is." Dave quickly interjected. "How do we know she's just some kid?" Dave accused, giving me an unsettling look. "In fact, how do we know if she's even a she? Kai, check the goods."
I quickly covered my chest, kind of embarrassed. "DAVE!" Chelsea shouted. "Don't Kai." Anna grumbled slapping Dave across the back of his head. "OW! What the hell?!" The boy angrily shouted. "That's for being a pervert!" Anna yelled back.
"………I have no comment." Mark sighed also smacking Dave across his the back of his head. "AH! What I do?" Dave asked, probably baffled as to why he was being punished.
"Dave, we're being serious here and you're acting like retard with bad sense of humor." Mark explained. "What? It is possible that 'Carly' …if that is your real name." The boy glared at me. "Could be a spy sent here find and round us up like cattle. 'She' could be a Ditto morph in disguise." He finished pointing at me.
Everyone just groaned while Anna just smacked Dave once more. "You said the exact same thing when we found Chelsea in the ruins two years ago." Anna sighed placing a hand on her forehead. "Now I have a headache… thank you Dave." She sarcastically thanked the poor guy before hitting him again. "Ah! What is it with people and hitting me today?!"
"Enough!" Mark commanded, instantly silencing his friends then turning his attention back to the squad of morph soldiers we were spying on. "…The morphs are gone… now's our chance." Mark said moving on ahead of us. "Our chance? To do what, Mark?" Kai asked. "To sneak back to camp." Mark bluntly stated.
"What? Sneak back to camp? Oh hell no." Dave loudly objected. "You've got a better plan, Dave?" Mark asked, crossing his arms. "Course I do." Dave sneered. "Since the army came all this way here looking for us… I'd say we give them what them want and send packing with their tails between their legs!" The boy energetically shouted.
"That's a bad idea." I told Dave. "No kidding, We're three teenage humans armed with nothing but knives, our wits and our Pokémon, a sassy Vulpix morph, a blood trusty Vaporeon morph and a wounded Pidgeotto morph verses a well trained well armed army regiment." Mark explained.
"I'm not sassy." I… well… sassed. "Blood trusty? Me?" "Yes." I quickly answered Kai's rhetorical question making the oddly colored Vaporeon angry.
"Adding on to that, you'd be up against the toughest morphs ever to have been born." I stated, speaking from personal experience. "I remember when I was a little kit, I once saw a veteran of the Pokémorph Revolution lift up a car with his bare paws and he was just a Raichu morph." I said. "…Damn… those are some steroids your army's packing." Dave commented completely shocked by my memory.
"And on that note, let me remind you all that they're after me, not any of you guys." Mark spoke in a serious tone. "I don't want any of you getting hurt because of me… so I'll get their attention and draw them off."
"Don't you find it odd that they're targeting you in particular?" Kai asked. "How do we they're after Taylor?" Dave asked Kai. "Think about, the Ruins has hundreds of thousands of humans living in the decaying remains of an old human civilization. How do we know they want Taylor?"
"Please tell me you're not serious." Anna begged Dave before quickly reminding Dave that Mark's the only human to steal from us morphs. "I heard them myself." Chelsea said once more trying to stand on her own two feet. "They had a picture of him and even asked the humans they beat if they've seen or at least heard of the human's name." She looked at Mark. "And the name they gave was Mark Taylor."
"And you would know this how?" Dave asked, skeptical of Chelsea's evidence. "They asked me the same shit when they were attacking me!" Chelsea shouted leaving the boy silent for a while. "…Okay… Well…… how do we know they meant our Mark Taylor?" Dave asked us.
"Where is he going this?" I quickly whispered to Anna. "Somewhere stupid, I'm sure." The human girl sighed.
"I'm almost afraid to ask… but what do you mean by that?" Mark questioned. "Well, Taylor, at a very, VERY young age, you could've been-" Gunfire erupted in the distance followed by an explosion and smoke rising from the direction of the blast. "What in Arceus's name?" I frightfully asked, terrified of the answer I might receive.
"…Sounds like they're done asking questions." Dave smiled drawing his weapon once more. "Sounds like finally grew tired of us 'lesser' creatures and decided to wipe us all out." Mark mused.
"Oh my Arceus… They're… they're not going to kill everyone… are they?" I meekly asked. "You really don't know your government do you?" Kai answered. "They don't give a damn about the weak… or about us orphans or misfits… And that's what this place is full off… people who 'don't belong.'" Kai coldly told me.
"B-but… there are children here." I protested. "They can't just simpl-" Dave quickly interrupted me with stern and unfeeling look on his face. "What part of 'they don't give a crap' don't you understand? If you're on this island and feel any compassion for us 'inferior' life forms… you die right alongside us… young or old… sinful or not…" The human boy bluntly said.
I feel to my knees and wept, my tails curling around me. I don't want to believe this… I… I just can't. All my life I've been told that the morph army is here to protect us… to defend the weak and saved the day… all my life I've looked up to them and honored them for being so brave and heroic… but now………
I felt a hand grab my shoulder and heard a soothing voice. "It's going to be alright Carly." For a moment I had thought that it was my father speaking to me… but if didn't take long to realize that it was actually Mark trying his best to claim me down.
"It's like I said, this isn't your fight, it's ours." Mark said removing his hand from my shoulder and drawing his knife. He turned to his friend and looked at them with serious expression on his face. "Alright guys," He spoke in a very leader like, almost commanding tone. "Listen up. We need to get back to camp and warn the others."
His gazed quickly shifted to Chelsea. "Chels… will you be able to move on your own?" Mark asked the wounded Pidgeotto. The feathered girl stood up clinching her side yet still was able to smile and energetically answered "I'll be able to more than just that, Taylor."
Mark nodded and once more looked at me. "Carly… You need to as far from here as possible." He insisted. "You have a home and family waiting for you… we don't… just get outta here now!"
Listening to the human's words I tried to use my Quick Attack's speed to get back to the tunnel and escape the Ruins… However a harsh gale had other plans as it carried me back to Mark's group knocking us all down flat on our butts.
Above us flew an angry flock of flying morphs and below them an angry pack of canine Pokémorphs looking for prey. "Well, well…" Dave chuckled. "Look who it is… our guest have arrived." Dave cheered. "Dibs on the ugly one." Kai called, forming a water ball in the palm of his paw. "Yeah… that narrows down." Chelsea remarked spreading her wings while Anna drew a knife she had kept hidden. Mark just smiled and stood in front of all of us. "They really don't know who they're screwing with, do they? Tck…alright then… let's show them what us 'inferior' creatures can do."
"Carly, what have you gotten yourself into this time?" I whispered to myself.
(Main POV)
Location: Inside a circling helicopter, over the Manhattan Ruins.
21:02 Hours
General Kadar closely monitored the situation from inside a helicopter, worried about the recent turn of events. "Who gave them permission to open fire?!" The General yelled at the Houndour sergeant on the ground through a two way vid-phone.
"Uh… a-according t-t-to squad leaders… uh, th-they said that they were fired upon first and returned fire to protect themselves." The canine officer on the ground meekly defended his troops.
"What do you mean 'were fired upon first?' Humans do not have access to firearms of any kind." The Kadabra morph stated. "So please explain to me what you meant by 'were fired upon first,' Sergeant."
"I-I-I'm just telling you what my men had told me." The dog stuttered. "They told me that humans armed with assault rifles and submachine guns ambushed them. It's an all out war!" The young sergeant panicked.
'Hm… So it seems that reports are true… there is a human resistance in the Manhattan Ruins… interesting…' The psychic thought twirling his moustache.
"One more thing, General," The Sergeant interrupted the Kadabra who was deep in thought. "What is it, boy?" The Kadabra half-heartily responded, just wishing that the Houndour would just leave him be and find the human the Governor wanted.
"Well sir… uh… we found… Morphs in the Ruins, sir… clamming that they live here." The General wasn't surprised of the fact that morphs were found the Ruins. It was common knowledge that many homeless morphs lived there. Some were teenage runaways trying to escape their 'unfair' parents or were human lovers and wanted to try to help the poor creatures.
And still some were the unwanted, misfit children of both human and morph and are hated by both species. Neither side wishing to take ownership of these "hybrids" as they were called, because of their uneven amount of human and Pokémorph DNA and the way most of them looked.
"We had kept locked up because they too attacked us when we started interrogating humans, but we don't know what we should do wi-"
"Kill them along with their pets." The General coldly ordered. The Houndour's red eyes widened with surprise and muzzle was left hanging wide open. "B-b-but sir… that just…" The Houndour was once again interrupted by Kadar's stern face. "Do you wish to share their fate?" The General coldly asked glaring at the image on screen. "………No sir." The dog meekly replied. "Then do as you're told, sergeant." Kadar finished his conversation and turned off the screen.
"Mark Taylor…" Kadar spoke to himself "I may not know why the Governor's so into meeting you… but I do know this… Your luck has finally run out." The General once more turn on the vid-phone, this time a Plusle morph was on the receiving end of the call.
"What is it, General Kadar?" The electric rodent asked. "Private, I want to if the Draco Team is available for a mission." The psychic sneered. "I think so sir… may I ask why?" The Plusle curiously asked.
"Oh… it's nothing… just a small, little task I want them to complete." Kadar sneered as his transport circled the remains of a sixteen story office building… where a teenage human boy, a young human girl and an unusually Vulpix are said to live in.
'They say you have no weakness, Taylor… today I will prove that theory wrong…'

Subject: Stephanie Evon
Location: Evon Family Penthouse, New Morph City
21:24 Hours
It was clear and starlit night tonight, which I found both odd because we live in the city and it's almost impossible to see any stars in a city such as New Morph and boring as hell because nothing ever happens on nights such as tonight… I kind of wish that were case to night.
The sounds of gunfire and several explosions echoed from the Ruins throughout the night sky as smoke and fire and rose from the island. We could only imagine what was transpiring in the decaying city. Everyone of my siblings stood outside near the outdoor pool we had on penthouse and silently watched the smoke rise from the island.
Sophie was tightly holding her new pet Vulpix and very sacred and confused. "………What's going on?" The little Eevee finally asked expecting one of us older, more experienced morphs to answer her… but in just plain English we were just as confused as she was, if not more.
"I honestly don't know Sophie." Richard admitted, quickly giving our youngest sister a hug.
"Looks like your dream come true, James." I nervously chuckled, trying to cover up the fact that I was scared. The Jolteon shook his head in disgust. "This isn't what I thought would happen." James admitted. "What I thought would happen was that the military would capture the human and either put it in a zoo or force it to make sandwiches for the rest of its meaningless life."
"James, get over it, it was a week ago." Our Vaporeon sister, Casey sighed. "Do you really think that people would pay to see some human sit around all day, scratch its butt and fart?" I asked my younger brother. "And who would want to eat a sandwich made by a human?"
"I just wonder why there's so much gunfire." Gregory the Leafeon pondered aloud. "Because it sounds like an all out war down there."
"A war? Against humans? HA!" I chuckled. "I wouldn't laugh if I were you, Steph." Kathrin suddenly spoke up. "Remember, our father sold weapons to the brave morph revolutionist to combat the humans during the Morph Revolution." I gave the Glaceon a smug look then I just slowly smiled and laughed in her face. "That's real funny, Kathy. That's I need a good laugh to make me feel better."
Although Kathrin started to reprimand me I paid no attention to her and tried to tune her out. "Do you think Mark's okay?" I heard Sophie whisper to Richard. "…I…… I really don't know Sophie… I really don't know." Richard admitted… leaving me wondering who this Mark person is.
And for some reason upon hearing that voice I saw inside my head a human being beaten and caged in the center of the city and having a conversation with Richard, Sophie and myself… once the image faded from my mind I was left baffled by my vision and wondered what in the world would posses me to talk to a human?
Subject: Mark Taylor
Location: Manhattan Ruins
21:34 Hours
God damn… how many God damn morphs did those assholes send us? There were so many hostile morphs that we had no chose but to run and hide in an old gas station garage of all places. The smell of shit and gasoline was everywhere and it made my eyes water and my nose wish it was dead.
I should be grateful that we're all alive. What with poor Carly being caught up in all this, Dave losing his mind… again… for the fourth time this week and Chelsea recovering from her beating? We truly are lucky.
"I-is… is she okay?" Carly meekly asked Anna from her position on the floor near a corner. The poor vixen held her legs and had wrapped her tails around her legs again. Evidence of fear could easily be heard in her voice.
"She'll live." Dave answered for Anna looking over an unconscious Pidgeotto morph with the girl. "She's lucky though… being directly hit with a thunder attack in her condition?" Dave shook his head in disgust. "Poor little bird."
"Kai," Dave called the Vaporeon who was keeping watch by the half open garage door. "Do you see any more soldiers?" Dave asked.
"…No… but that doesn't mean that we're safe you know… they could come out from right underneath us at any time and murder us all in the blink of an eye." The Vaporeon bluntly told us. Carly's silver eyes were filled with fear and she started to trembled and cry.
"Not helping, Kai." I told the blue morph moving to try and comfort the white Vulpix morph. "Not lying, Taylor." He answered back. "We can't stay here for very long or else we'll all be found and killed on the spot… all excluding you, Mark, because apparently they have a bone to pick with you."
I ignored the pessimist water morph and checked on the sobbing Vulpix girl. I really did feel sorry for her and felt really crappy about myself for some reason… she's just some kid that got a little too curious and ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time…
Kai's webbed ears perked up suddenly, signaling to every that trouble was near. No one made a sound and everyone look for a place to hide. I quickly grabbed Carly and led the morph to a spot behind some old, discarded tires, peering over the side of the stacks of rubber to at least see what we were up against.
Kai hid behind a stack of large toolboxes while Anna hauled Chelsea's slowly regaining consciousness body behind an old, overturned muscle car… only Dave was stupid enough to climb in the damn thing.
Not two seconds after we hid, morph soldiers entered the garage. There were only three that went inside but one of them was golem, hunched back, short, rocky and fat with a face only a mother could love. Another was Lombre of all Pokémorphs and the last was a floating assault rifle being held by a pair of invisible hands connected to the arms of a haunted imperial uniform that was… oh wait… It's an extremely nervous and/or timid Kecleon trying to blend in with its surroundings, my bad.
The three looked around the room, obviously searching for us… specifically me.
"You think they's is in here?" the Golem asked in the most ridiculous voice I've heard… and I've heard Dave's Elvis impression…
"…I thought so… but from the looks of it… I'd say they're gone…" The Lombre responded in an equally laughable voice. I swear this has got to be the hardest thing I've done, even harder than apologizing to Carly and referring to her as a 'friend,' I wanted to laugh and taunt the bastards so badly… but I had to control myself if I wanted to keep my friends safe.
The Kecleon's body finally appeared and filled in the seemly empty (and haunted) uniform. "Th-that's good… I don't think I could've handled anymore surprises or excitement today…" The lizard let out a breath of relief.
"Not even a human would hide in this dump… what were you thinking?" The Lombre asked the Golem.
"I thunk dat they's hid here sos we wouldn't finds 'em." The grammar challenged Golem responded.
Even though we were scared beyond belief, both Carly and I couldn't help but let out a small, yet somewhat auditable laugh.
"Yous guys hears thats?" 'Aw come on! Now you're just trying to make us laugh!' I mentally shouted at the rock type.
Despite our best efforts of being quiet, the morphs heard us and grew more aware and alert. I quickly ducked down behind the relative safety of the tires and prayed that they would just dismiss it as a Pokémon and leave.
But because fate is a bitch who loves to see me suffer and make my life a living hell… The morphs didn't leave… as a matter of fact I heard pairs of claws moving closer towards us… more specially… me and Carly.
Carly was terribly frightened, she was shaking, crying and whimpering… again making me feel like shit… I myself was trembling just as hard her. My heart kicked into overdrive, pumping blood in out so fast and hard it hurt.
Normally I would never be this afraid of some morph… but then again I've been a situation like this… one's a Rock type, another's armed and the last one's… funny looking but that's beside the point.
I heard a gun go off near by and what sounded like a body hitting the floor, hard. "What the…? Shit! Th-they got-" Another shot was fired and another body fell to the floor. "W-what? What's going on-" Yet another gunshot rang out and another body crashed into the floor.
We all stood in hiding… afraid to move a muscle… after all we don't know if we truly are safe or not because the sounds of gunfire are everywhere… for all we know those could have stray shots fire from morph soldiers own troops.
Our fears were put to rest when we hear a very familiar voice cry "Come on out, kids."
We left our hidings spots and rushed out of the garage to see a human, about two years older than me, however he was much taller then I. The guy looked like a real soldier which was odd giving fact that I don't think I've ever seen him kill anyone or anything. His brown eyes were cover my protective goggles and his head was safely covered by helmet. He held in his hands an extremely old, practically ancient hunting rifle.
"Ryan?" Kai suddenly spoke. "Ryan, is that you?" The soldier just smiled. "What's a matter, Kai,? You don't recognize your own brother when you see him?" Ryan teased his younger, adoptive brother.
"Not when he's dressed as soldier." Kai commented with a smile.
Carly looked confused and turned to me for answers. She opened her muzzle as if to talk but quickly closed it and looked away… She's probably too tired to ask any questions right now.
"Alright you little wise ass," Ryan chuckled, messing up Kai's hair. "Unfortunately, I'm not here for a family reunion." Ryan admitted looking at me. "I'm here to get you to safety, Mark."
"Who? Me?"I stupidly asked point to myself. "No, the other Mark Taylor who's infamous among evil morphs and seen as beacon of hope among humans and the few good morphs left on this pitiful rock, in the vast, never ending void of space." The guy angrily told me.
"…W-what?" I asked. "I'm sorry could you say all that again? My brain exploded." I joked. "(Sigh) This isn't funny, Taylor!" Ryan shouted. "This is serious! The morphs think you're one of us and are searching of you in hopes that you'll lead them to our base." Ryan explained.
"Whoawhoawhoawhoawhoa, hold up there G. I. don't make any sense." Dave suddenly spoke up. "Do you mind explaining what in God's name is going on here? And what do you mean by 'we?'"
"Yeah, Ryan, what's going on?" Kai asked his older brother.
The soldier sighed and looked at Anna who was trying to hide behind Chelsea. "…Well Anna… do you want to explain the situation to them?" Ryan asked.
Anna sighed as all eyes were on her. "I was hoping you were going to asked Chelsea… she's as much a part of this as we are, you know." The girl simply said. "True, But you've known the boy longer than she has." Ryan said.
Anna sighed and looked at me. I was still very much confused at the time and in despite need of some answers… however a loud explosion in the distance and smoke rising from a certain part of the ruins made me think otherwise.
"…That smoke… it looks it's coming from…" Chelsea was too afraid to finish her sentence… however we all knew were the smoke was coming from, all except for Carly of course… the smoke was coming from our homes… coming from camp…
Without second thoughts, I raced off toward the direction of the smoke. Behind me I heard my friends protest and demand I wait for them… I ignored them and continued to make my way back home.
22:24 hours
(Main POV)
Location: Taylor camp, inside an old, half destroyed office building.
Mark feared the worst when he made it back home… his fears only increased when he saw both Dave's little brother Jerry and his Partner Tricky lying on the floor. The human quickly checked to see if both them were still alive. Thankfully they were only unconscious but badly hurt and need medical attention fast.
As much as Mark wanted to help his friends, the sound of faint crying came from inside the destroyed building. Mark wasted no time and rushed inside, screaming his sister's name at the top of his lungs.
"Big brother…" A small girl whimpered behind. Mark let out an uneasy sigh of relief when he heard his sister's voice… unfortunately for him, when turned to face his younger sister, he saw something that has only haunted him in his nightmares.
Poor little Marcia Taylor… was in the claws of a sneering Flygon morph, being held as a hostage. "MARCIA!" Mark helplessly yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Big brother… help me… please.." Marcia helpless cried. Tears rolling down her face. "Aw… isn't this a sweet little family reunion?" The green dragon sneered, holding the child with one clawed hand and keeping the other right on top of the girl's throat.
"LET HER GO!" Mark roared, drawing his knife. "Or else what?" The Flygon asked. "Or else… I'll… I'll…" For once, Mark was lost… he couldn't think of a single action, not one little move he could make that wouldn't result in him becoming an only child.
The Flygon sneered. "That's exactly what I thought." The dragon laughed.
"Taylor!" Someone shouted from behind as Mark's friends finally caught up with him. "Guys!" Mark called for his friends.
"There's no need for an unwanted audience now is there?" The Flygon asked, snapping his tail like a whip, ordering more dragon morphs to fly in and detain Mark's friends before they got too close.
"Guys!" Mark shouted only to met by an evil laugh. "You know, I've heard stories about you, Mark Taylor… I've heard that you're unlike many other humans…" The dragon began to talk with Marcia still firmly in his grasp. "I've heard that you're resourceful, you're somewhat strong for a human, you're brave and most importantly… you're lucky…"
The green morph paused for moment, stroking Marcia's long hair with his claws, evilly grinning. "They say that you are a very special human… one capable of changing the world… some may even go as far as calling you, a sixteen year old human child, humanity's last hope for some reason."
The Flygon paused to pull a hair out of Marcia's scalp, causing Mark to flinch. The dragon once more laughed. "But I see now, that you're nothing more but some lucky little punk trying to prolong both you and your sister's pityful and meanless existence… how pathetic." The Flygon laughed.
From behind Mark were angry shouts and protests coming from the human's friends. They struggled and tried to break free of their captors grasps… but their efforts were nothing more but a futile effort. All they could watch the event that began to unfold before their eyes and hope that they will spared.
"Why do you care so much about a weak and fragile little girl such as this one?" The Flygon questioned, tighten his grip on young girls arm. "Why do you care if she lives or if she dies? What's it to you?" The young girl cried out in pain as the green dragon's grip became too much for her bare. "NO! STOP!" Mark helplessly cried.
"Why should I? This is too much fun." The dragon sneered, slowly applying more pressure on little Marcia's arm. "AH!" The girl cried. "Big brother! It hurts! Please help me!" She cried.
"Let her go!" Mark cried. "How's about this… I'll make a deal with you." The dragon suddenly said. "You give yourself up in exchange for your sister's freedom as well as for your friends' lives. After all we wouldn't want anyone else to die now… would we?"
The human's friends called out from behind him. Shouting at Mark, telling him to fight on and not worry about them. They shouted for him to take that Flygon out… they were hoping for it… Mark on the other hand took the entire situation in for a moment… he looked every possible move he could make… thought once more of what he could do to not only safe his friends… but his sister as well…
A cry of pain and growl from the Flygon made him realize that they had him… There was nothing more he could do… and despite the rallying cries of his friends… Mark Taylor dropped his knife and fell to knees.
"………You win… just please… don't hurt my friends… please… don't my hurt my sister…" Mark pleaded. The dragons all roared triumphantly as two more dragon morph flew in to collect their prize. "Oh don't worry, Taylor… you're friends will be just fine… it's your sister I'd be more concerned about." The Flygon grinned.
"What do you mean? WE HAD A DEAL!" Mark shouted as the morphs handcuffed him. "Oh I remember that deal very vividly… the deal was that your sister would have her freedom… I said nothing about her keeping her life." The dragon all laughed as their captives, Mark included, struggled to get free.
"And we'll make sure she feels every little cut I give her… and you and your friends will watch… your sister will serve as an example for all who defy the grand Morph Empire!" The morph cheered as he slow dragged his white claw against Marcia left eye. She quickly closed her, but shrieked in terror and pain as the dragon's claw was dragged over her eyelid. Mark could only watch in horror as the green morph began to slowly kill his sister. When the dragon was done, there was bloody scar on her left eye.
Marcia cried out in pain and helpless cried for someone to help… she helpless cried for her big brother… but no one was coming to her rescue… not if the Dragons had anything to say about it, that is.
The young Marcia struggled to get free she even managed to bite the Flygon's green scaled hand. "AH!" The Flygon shouted, dropping the human girl. Once she was free, Mark told her to run away. To escape and never look back… but Marcia was still too scared to move… she was too frightened.
The green dragon morph looked at his hand and saw that the little girl actually made him bleed. Out of anger and rage he shouted "How dare you, you little piece of shit!" and swung his tail at poor little Marcia. The tail hit the girl and knocked her hard against a wall where she fell to ground… motionless…
Seeing his little sister's motionless body… Mark felt cold… he felt nothing… but anger and hate… with renewed determination, he and the rest of his friends fought with new found strength. Even Carly was consumed with anger and started fighting back. Eventually they broke free of their captors and began to attack them… the only one still struggling was Mark himself.
"How can this be?!" The Flygon asked, watching the group take on his dragon.
"Sir! I recommend we pull out! We have what we came for." Another Flygon suggested hitting Mark in the back of his head. "There's no need to continue fighting."
"Grr… Alright then… radio command! we're pulling out!" The Flygon ordered, he spreading his wings and taking off. Two dragons grabbed the unconscious Mark Taylor and flew off right behind, the other soon followed.
"Hey, where the hell are you going, you cowards?!" Dave shouted, pointless throwing rocks at the fleeing morphs. "Get back here and die like the weak cowards you bastard really are!!!"
"Dave!" Anna shouted from a spot next to Marcia's broken body. "Knock it off… we need to tend to Marcia!"
"But what about Taylor?" Dave quickly asked. "We can't just let them take him to be executed!" Dave protested.
"…There's nothing we could for him, Dave…" Ryan admitted before turning to Chelsea. "Chelsea, I need you to find Ben now!" He ordered the Pidgeotto morph. "We may have lost one Taylor…" Ryan solemnly stated looking towards the night sky. "…But we will not lose another…" He finished rushing to Marcia's side.
...What can I say? ...Do you really expect much from the morph soldiers?
Poor Mark and Marcia... one can only hope the two of them are alright...
Any and all questions will be answerd in the next chapter. I promise.
