Fuckin' Louis draggin all that shit up for her, I could tell she was upset, I couldn't deal with chicks cryin' Louis wouldn't shut up even after I kicked him and told him, he was getting too big for his age it worried me, I was getting updates that Carlos was given his first job and that it hadn't ended very well, it was hard to find out what was going on, Joey wanted to know how it was going with Guy, I told him I would have given him the packet by the weekend, I hoped that was enough for him. I wanted to know if Carlos was okay.
When I looked up, Jess was looking at me leaning against the counter, she was watching me close. I just looked at her, taking her features and stray hairs that framed her face all in, I pictured her in my bandanna then nothing but that. She had asked me something. Shit.
'Ummm' I sounded dumb
I heard the front door go, who was it? I turned as I saw Paco walk in, no worry just barged in, i turned and dried my hands standing slightly in front of Jess. she had, had enough abuse for today from guys like us.
'Shit man you should have seen his face I pulled the gun' he was shouting and laughing, I just glared at him, he turned the corner describing what he had done, he saw Jess and froze.
'Well, well, I expected Britt but not Snow' Paco said raising his eyebrow at me
I glanced at Jess she had backed away looking down, her arms in front of her, Louis's words about her cloths making her self conscious, she had nothing to worry about, well i didn't think so anyway. i glared at Paco.
'So you're who Rosa keeps going on about' he said walking over to her her eyes shot up and looked at him, wide and scared a look that didn't suit her.
'We have actually met a few times' Jess said taking charge Paco thought placing his hand on his face tapping his face, he was such a dick.
'Really?' he said stopping by my side he was shorter than me though he rested his arm on my shoulder, i shrugged him off.
'Yeah, you picked Rosa up when she had a go at me, another time you barged in on us getting changed and when you shouted and called me 'Puto' I looked it up gilipollas' her eyes narrowing slightly, I smiled loving how she put Paco in his place, she looked at me and saw me smile as though I was assuring her she was doing the right thing.
'What?' Paco said I saw him reach around I slammed my hand into his chest and turned quick as he tried to catch his breath
'Chill man, you don't want to upset Rosa' knowing it would work he just glared up at me knowing he was starting to see red
'As I was sayin' I pulled the gun on him then the bitch he was then screwing, man she was bangin' him hard I shot her brains out he screamed like a girl' Paco laughed I knew it was the truth he rarely lied about his job, I didn't react Jess just stood there.
'Jess' Louis called
'Excuse me' she said going around the table past us as I waited to hear the creak of the stairs. I heard the front door shut, she'd done a runner
'Jess?' Louis asked sadder
'Idiot' I pushed Paco away from me
'Snow is too pure for you!' Paco called after me I turned and looked at him
'Why do you have to barge in here? Shouting like you're Joey? Proud of hat you've done, scaring Jess' I said suddenly pissed off.
'You're sounding soft' Paco said knowingly
'So? Better than being a gilipollas' then pulled my boots on and shut the door behind me looking left and right to see where Jess was, she wasn't going the way we had come, she had gone right, I jogged to catch her up.
'Jess' I called after her, I caught her up, I expected to see tears but there wasn't just sadness
'Tell Louis I'm sorry' she said in a quiet tone
'No, Paco is a twat takin' smack like that with you there' I said wanting her to stop I looked around after the public jump in, I expected there was a lot of LB members floating around and people peering out their windows, shit would go down if they saw Jess around here, even more if we were seen together, as she was just a snow girl.
'But he did say it, it happened Alex, he has just killed someone, innocent, that could be anyone a friend or even me, if I was in the wrong place I could be dead, you could be the one behind the gun; she was walking quick.
'Come on back, we can talk' I took her wrist gently she stopped and just looked down at it
'There isn't anything to say' she kept looking at my hand
'Shit' my hand left her wrist and went into my hair grabbing out of my face, my phone had been ringing non stop.
'What is it?' I couldn't tell her or get her involved in my life
'nothin' just put this on' I passed her the bandanna before turning and jogging back I needed to get to Carlos, I told Paco as he drove us there Mama would be back soon Louis would be okay I hoped, as we drove past Jess she didn't have the bandanna on it was just hanging from her back pocket, Paco knew better than to say anything or do anything, we just drove past her. no bandanna on, just hanging from her back pocket.

I pulled the bandanna off my face, I got home and pulled my clothes off and had a long hot bath, I phoned Tuc up he was still on his date so he didn't answer, I didn't want to bother him I sopke to myself in the bathroom everyone out. I decided to phone Rosa I told her everyhing as she wanted to know why I bailed on her.
'No one is here if you want to come over' I told her there was a pause
'I would Jess but' Rosa stopped again
'I know, another time' I finished for her answered more questions she had for me I lay my head back telling her everything, it was surprising with what happened.
'You know he likes you, he doesn't cook for just anyone or go chasing after them' she said excited
'Rosa we are so different, it wouldn't work it seems the universe doesn't even want it to happen' I said sighing the hot water relaxing me, she babbled on about some story she had read and what happened and when I lay there listening to her.

We got to the hospital I flew out the car Paco behind me I asked where Carlos was there were so many doors and directions a maze of sick and injured people, it was hot and smelt funny, my mind was getting fuzzy. It soon cleared seeing my brother laying on the hospital bed monitors on him, laying there asleep, I walked in and sat on the seat next to him, taking his now limp hand between my own, I just looked over him accessing the damage.
'What happened?' I asked him wanting to know, Paco's phone rang he quickly got it
'Hey niña ' he cooed it must be Rosa he squinted as she started ranting he walked away giving us space, I waited by Carlos' side until he woke up about an hour later.
'Hey bro' still able to manage a cocky smile
'What happened?' I asked him he took a breath and leaned back seeing to realize where he was and why.
'I was just doin' a job' Carlos laying with his eyes closed
'Who with?'
'No one, I went alone'
'Idiot, why?'
'Because I don't need no one' Carlos laughed to himself
'You end up like this, beat up in a hospital you can't afford because you didn't do the job, shit Ma will flip! You could be dead you know' I preached to him I had been in this situation too many times
'I'll be out soon'
'I think you should go Home' I told him making him open his eyes and look
'No way'
'Yes you Ma and Louis all go home, you are new so it'll be fine i'll opt out and come join you when I can' I explained
'You'll get killed' Carlos said as though I was an idiot which I clearly was
'I need you all safe, you need to go home to El Paso' I told him
'You're loco Al, Ma wouldn't move' as though he knew so much about the people he had deserted
'She has bags packed, next month you're going i', not telling you when or airport just know that you will be on that plane and you wll be going home' I stood up needed some air Carlos calling for me, I passed as a nurse was coming in to see what the noise was about. I saw Paco outside once I found it having a smoke.

Rosa got a part time job in the camera shop in the City, she really enjoyed it and was learning a lot about them, I was at home doing jobs looking after May we were slowly getting closer, I got a chance to do more art and hear all about Tuc's date though he was borderline obsess with him every day they were doing something together I was happy for him, I though about Alex a lot.
I needed to do something productive with the time off, I looked into visiting home and talking to a few old friends to see what was going on and how everyone was. I was laying out in the garden music playing flicking through a magazine, bored I thought about going to the skate park it was really warm though, I got changed I pulled on some stretchy jeans with some rips in and a tank top with a larger see through one over top, I messaged Rosa she was working today and had saturday off though I had been invited out to go over to Guys as May would be out I was taking her place I didn't really fancy it at all, I wondered how Louis was. I left a note about where and when I had gone out and skated off to the park, paint in my bag and water.
I got there, it was mainly kids hanging out, I didn't feel like practicing so I sat and stared to paint on my board it was rubbed down, I got my small paint pots and brushed out and started to paint, holding them in my mouth and I got different brushed the design in my sketchbook beside me, I enjoyed doing this, I let it dry looking around me, laughing joking, people being together a few skating and trying tricks, falling and scraping their arms and legs. I sat looking at the design and added a little more to it. It was like the comic book signs, Boom and crash bright colors, I added some more detail.
'Rad' some guy said walking past
'thanks' I said looking at him as the was at the top of the slope with me, he threw his board down and went off the edge, I watched him.
Apov
I was getting ready for tomorrow night, to take Guy by surprise I had the bag and came up with a plan, Paco would be there as back up I couldn't ask him to come in wit me it was too risky. I kept checking in on Carlos making sure was still there it was taking a lot of my money though it wasn't as much as Northside would be, act poor is what I had learnt when it mattered.
I was helping at the garage, telling my Uncle what was going on whilst he ordered the parts in I kept Jess out of it though I didn't need that going around. He told me about the lad that got jumped in and the outcome, I said I was out and missed it all.

I got dressed in a dress, I didn't like it that much I put on a long skirt and top, a little better Dad was suit he looked so smart. I had washed Alex's bandanna and had it folded up in my bedside draw, I walked down and we both went over to his house, it was gorgeous all open plan and clean, expensive art on the wall and flowers, he introduced us to his, 'Waiters and butlers' they stood around the room attending to different things, all male, he shook Dads hand and kissed my cheek, he showed us around as we admired the luxury and asked about art.
We sat down for the meal, different people brought us food and filled our glasses, the conversation was okay.

we sat outside he had someone over we waited for a while, then suddenly after what felt like hours, 2 people walked out of the house as guy showed them out and waved them off. The two people had stopped and chatted, shaken hands kissed cheeks before getting into the car and driving off, now was our time to strike. We sneaked up and peered in, he was smoking a joint whist his guards were cleaning up. Paco went around the back as I wnet in gun blaring and the package in my pocket, I shot down a lot of the guards.

It had been a lovely time, we got back, it was quiet Dad went to find May.
