"Marina Rosser." Gene snapped as he walked through the CID office.
"Never heard of her." Shaz frowned as she watched the Guv march towards the inner office.
"I 'av." Ray sighed. "Too bloody often. In Manchester she was in the cells every other week. It was getting stupid by the time we left to come down 'ere."
"Who is she?" Alex folded her arms over the baby bump.
"A cheap, nasty tart with a side line in robbery and drug selling." Chris explained. "Last time I nicked 'er was just before we came down to London. What's she doing 'ere?"
"From what I've been told Keates' dirty work." Gene could barely keep his temper. "Now, she and her pimp do a nice little sideline in robbing houses. I want her in the cells before Beer O Clock tonight. Am I making meself understood?"
"Yes Guv." Ray stood up and grabbed his jacket. "C'mon Chris."

Sam held Annie's hand as he stared at her. He was exhausted. He had never been so exhausted in his life. He glanced at the monitor as the doctor walked around the room, checking monitors and adjusting drug dosages.
"Mr Tyler." The doctor looked at Sam. "We're reducing Annie's sedation but we wont know if she will wake up immediately."
"I know." Sam nodded. "You wake up in your own time Annie love." He kissed her hand.
"She will." The doctor smiled. "I am sure she'll let us know when she's ready to wake up.
Sam smiled slightly as he watched Annie's face remain impassive. He had no idea if she knew what was going on but he knew she could hear him. From past experience he knew she could hear exactly what was being said. All he could do was wait.

"Gene." Alex closed the door to the office, knowing Ray, Shaz and Chris would be out of the office for a while. "Gene." She spoke again when he failed to look up at her. "You got this information from a snout. You know how unreliable they can be."
"I trust this one."
"You said that before." She watched as he finally raised his eyes to hers.
"I know." Gene looked up at her before pushing his chair away from his desk. "I knew him when we were back in Manchester. His info was always reliable. I ain't 'ad a problem with him before. Dun see why I should 'ave one know."
"Ok." Alex sighed. "Ok, be careful. Please Gene. You know what Keates is capable of. You know what he can do. What he has done."
"Now, listen 'ere Bolls." He walked across to her. "I know Jimbo is a slime ball as Molly would say. I know he is the scum on the Earth. Trust me I wouldn't spit on 'im if he was on fire but he is not I repeat NOT going to destroy this team. Annie will wake up. Her and Sam will be right as rain."
"I never understood that saying." Alex smiled. Gene wrapped his arms around her as she looked up.
"Neither av I. But anyway, they will be ok and we will put Keates back where he belongs. Trust me."
"I do." Alex smiled. "You know I do."

Sam stared at the silent body of his wife and willed her to wake up. He knew it was only a matter of time before he saw her eyes open. The doctor quietly left the room.
"Come on Annie. Come on love. I miss you so much." Sam held her hand as he spoke. He hadn't heard the door open. He hadn't even registered the footsteps walking towards him. It wasn't until he heard the voice appologising for Annie's condition that he realised someone had joined them. His blood boiled slightly as he thought of the man that seemed to be determined to make their lives Hell.
"Get out Keates." Sam kept his eyes on his wife. "Get away from my wife."
"I came to offer my sympathy."
"Sympathy!" Sam turned sharply. "Neither Annie not me need your sympathy. You stand there when you caused this? When your lackeys ran her off the road."
"Big accusations DI Tyler."
"Yeah." A decidely male voice stated. "But they're right accusations."
"Gene." Sam smirked slightly as the fear began to leave him slightly. Gene grabbed Keates by the collar and threw him against the wall. Keates sprawled across the room before connecting with the wall. Gene pulled himself up to his full height and glared down on the smaller man as he read him his rights.
"Sam." Alex gasped. "Look."
Sam turned sharply as he heard her speak, suddenly aware that his wife was laying in bed watching the whole scene unfold around her.
"Annie."
"I'm back." Annie smiled beneath the oxygen mask. "Sam, I'm home."
