THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR PUTTING UP WITH THE LONG WAIT BETWEEN UPDATES. AS I HAVE SAID IN MY OTHER STORIES THAT I HAVE MANAGED TO UPDATE. WRITER'S BLOCK HAS HIT ME HARD ALONG WITH MAN7 MEDICAL ISSUES SUCH AS FALLING DOWN SOME STEPS THAT CURVE DOWNWARDS AND MESSING UP MY ARMS TO THE POINT THAT IT HURTS TO TYPE BUT I AM NOT GOING TO LET THAT STOP ME FROM WRITING. I ALSO GOT MY MOJO IN WRITING BACK DO TO FINDING AN VERY OLD STORY THAT I WROTE FOR MY SEINOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL. Chapter 13
Razer looked at the still Red Lantern garbed speedster who was out like a light on the bed with a blue shield over his body. Razer felt that the shield was a little too much but he knew that it was just for safety measures should the young Speedster wake up in a rage which was most likely happen given the situation. While Flash had managed to calm the speedster down somewhat, it still wasn't enough to rid Wally of the Red Lantern outfit. Razer was trying to think of what he could do to help Wally who was struggling to come to terms with what was happening to him. Razer knew just by looking at the sleeping speedster that he had a strong bond with those that thought of family but was that bond still there after what Wally's teammates save for the female archer had said about him.
Razer figured that the words spoken to Wally by his teammates could have caused the Rage to come to the surface. Also the meeting with the Red Lantern that Razer had a feeling was Atrocious who sadly was speaking the truth about what he told Wally about his home and The Manhunters.
Rage was a powerful thing as the Blue Lantern would know. But in his defense Razer was set up with the death of his wife by the hands of Atrocious who in Razer's option had saved him from his war torn world and set him on becoming friends with Hal Jordan and Kilowog in a way and becoming a Blue Lantern and though he would somewhat deny it, Razer was fond of Wally who had so much on his shoulders that all it took was a few words to have him go off the deep end as the humans would say.
Razer turned his head when he heard muffled shouting bordering on screaming that was coming from the person that the Blue Lantern figured was the hero known as Batman who quite frankly for a human with no powers did scare him a little. Perhaps it was the way when the rodent themed hero spoke his threats or made them that his voice never changed in pitch which was scary and held no emotions when he said them.
Razer figured that the yelling was do to what Wally had said when he was at Hal's place probally just after meeting with the Red Lanterns. It made Razer sick that that Wally's own team save for the female blond archer who based on what Razer was told by Wally didn't get along with the young speedster but Wally did trust her to have his back when the time called for it. Which based on what Wally had said was when Wally's team had turned against him when he revealed that he was a Green Lantern.
Razer had to smirk to himself at the thought of trust. How long ago was it that he had been a Red Lantern and Kilowog had wanted to bash his brains in for being an Red Lantern? Now the two were on mutral speaking terms but Razer knew that Kilowog and many of the Green Lanterns would never fully trust him do to his past which in Razer's case was fine as long as he was treated with respect.
Another part of Razer felt like cussing out Hal Jordan for not telling Wally about The Manhunters as it was his right to know about them but the idiot blue gnomes did not see a 16 year old human child, all they say was a reincarnation of their greatest hero which Wally may have looked like Nuallan but he was not him. Wally was his own person thus he did have the right to be who he wanted to be not what those annoying green gnomes wanted him to be.
That was one of the reasons Razer was glad that he was now a Blue Lantern instead of a Red or any other color. At least The Blue Lanterns could be free to be who they wanted to be.
Razer's ears could still hear the yelling from Batman. It really did sound like he was mad which from what Razer knew based on what he was told by Hal and Wally's mentor was a really bad thing when Batman started to yell and deadly if you were one of his villains. Razer felt and had no pity for the young humans that had turned their backs on their teammate just because he had kept a secret that had kept them safe. Also Razer was glad that it was not him that was screaming at the young humans as he was more likly to use his ring on them much like when he was a Red Lantern.
Razer looked up from his watch when he heard the door open to reveal the Blond female archer that had defended Wally and a red haired human that was only a few years older than Wally and looked to be an archer based on the weapons he was carrying.
"How's he doing?" The red haired archer asked in a gruff but caring voice which told Razer that he was a good friend of Wally.
"Still asleep as you can see but that's not really a bad thing when you consider the amount of rage just a little bit ago. The first onsault of Rage can be quiet tiring " Razer replied as used his ring to pull up some chairs for the archers who nodded thanks and sat down.
"You've had dealings with this rage thing?" The Red haired archer asked as he gave the Blue colered alien a look over.
Razer let a small smile come to his face at the way this young human was acting and he knew that the mae human standing front of him was very much a friend and was concerned for Wally.
"I was a Red Lantern for some time until I got some help and shed my Rage and was filled with hope instead. I plan on helping Wally deal with this Rage and get him back to the way he was when I meant him." Razer told the boy. "By the way, who are you?"
"My names Roy Harper otherwise known as Red Arrow. I've been a friend of Wally's for a while and I see him as my little brother." Roy told the Blue Lantern that seemed to be concerned about his little brother but was very watchful and Roy figured that the alien knew this as well.
"So your the hot headed archer that is a pain in the butt but loyal to those he sees as family?" Razer said with a smirk. "Your brother's words not mine."
Roy rolled his eyes behind his mask. Leave it Wally to be blunt in the way he talked but the archer would never wanted him to be anything else.
"How is the yelling going?" Razer asked the two humans since they had come the way that the yelling could have been heard.
"I have never seen Batman that angry and believe me I've seen his mad. This is just down right pissed beyond reasoning. I think he and Flash are going to start murdering some the sidekicks in a few moments he's that pissed." Artemis replied as she was glad that she wasn't part of the group that was on the reciving end of the Batman's wraith and Flash's who was doing some yelling as well only it was more directed towards Hal Jordan who was still sporting the black eyes that Flash had given before.
"I just can't believe that Robin of all people would turn against Wally. Those two have been friends for so long." Roy muttered. He wanted so badly to beat the crap out of Robin and he knew that Batman would let him due to what was going on.
"It funny how someone can turn on you in a heartbeat." Artemis pointed out as she let out a sigh. It was funny that she would be the one that was defending Wally when she and him really didn't get along with each other. But Artemis knew that Wally hid the fact that he was a Green Lantern to protect them but the team couldn't see that.
"Sounds like to me that your team doesn't really have the skills to be a team if they can not forgive someone who only did what they did to protect them." Razer said with a light growl in his voice.
"I have agree with you on that Razer." Flash told the alien as he came into the room and took a seat by the bed of his sleeping nephew who was slightly snoring.
"Now you know why I went solo after the crap at The Hall of Justice." Roy said as he leaned back in his chair.
"I am actually thinking of leaving the team if this is the way they treat the good guys." Artemis said as she looked down at Wally.
Razer looked at the blond with a look of question on his face.
"I'm from a family that sides with The Light and was trained at a young age to be a killer but after my dad broke my mom's legs I knew that I wanted to be someone other than a killer so I joined the team as Green Arrow's niece which Wally didn't like one bit as he thought that i was replacing Roy which was now what i wanted to do and I didn't blame Wally's mistrust of me as he was loyal to Roy and I wasn't very outgoing of my past and it scared me when Roy found out who I was but what was really scary was that Wally had figured out who I was about 4 months after I joined the team but didn't reveal it. That to me shows that he did trust me at least a little bit. But like I said, The team is treating Wally like he's the bad guy when all he did was protect us." Artemis told The Blue Lantern.
"In my option, sometimes the good guys are worse than the bad guys. Look at the one you call Superman. He wants nothing to do with a child that came into this world not of his own freewill just because he is a clone and that guy is supposed to a hero. Ha, some of the Red Lanterns are nicer than that sad excuse of a hero and that is something that I thought that I would never say." Razer replied. "Yes, Wally did tell me about some of adult members of the Justice League as did Hal although Hal did forget to mention that fact that the one you call Batman can scare you without even raising the tone of his voice and I am not talking about the glare. Also Batman does have my respect for how he is dealing with what is going on with Wally."
"He should. Wally was the first sidekick to know who Batman is under the mask and for the record Razer, Batman does not have any powers. He is a normal human that used what he learned in his years to fight crime. He was the one that actually commands Young Justice which I think he's thinking of disbanding judging by the way he's still yelling and I really don't want to be the one that he's yelling at. I only had that happen to me once and that was when Wally found out who Batman was under the mask by mistake. I thought he was going to throw every single sharp pointy that he had at me that day. That was only time that I have ever seem him that mad at me." Flash said as he like Roy leaned back in his chair. "Also Wally is really like one of Batman's children seeing as Wally is always at his place or at least until this happened."
"The thought of disbanding Young Justice is on the floor. But I think that maybe I should have the ones that turned against Wally undergo some of the worst training that they have ever had. While Artemis and Roy take part in missions with the League since they had defended Wally when he needed it. I do not put up with backstabbing for any reason." Batman said as he came into the room with a pissed off look on his face.
Flash shuddered at the thought of everyone undergoing the training that Batman had in mind. It was a type of training where those who had powers were striped of them and forced to use what they knew from being taught. It was only used as a last result.
Batman turned to Razer who was still keeping a consent vigil of Wally. Batman didn't completly trust the Blue Lantern based on what Hal had told him about being a Red Lantern and destorying worlds but The Dark Knight would give the fanged Alien a chance as he did deserve that much at least and he was really the only one that could help Wally deal with his rage induced powers. Also it did seem that Razer did care about Wally.
"You do know that you can ask me anything that you want. I do not like it when people stare at me for no reason. I got enough of that when I was a Red Lantern and still have some people doing that now." Razer told Batman with out looking up from Wally.
Batman smiled to himself. He would like Razer when he got to know him more.
"What are your plans in helping Wally deal with what is going on?" Batman asked in his normal voice.
"Getting rid of the Rage that powers the Red Lantern Ring varies from the person. I had help from an Android named Aya who had taken the likeness of my late Wife who was killed on our planet by what I thought was the enemy that I joined the army to fight which caused my to be over come with Rage thus turning me into a Red Lantern. It wasn't until some time later that I found out that Atrocious killed my wife to get me to join the Red lantern Corps. Even as a Red Lantern I still had some compassion but it wasn't until a Green Lantern from one of the colonies that the Red Lanterns destoried was willing to risk his life and said some things to me that I realized just what I was doing. I wanted to have death by Lantern but Hal didn't kill me. Many things happened over time and I began to understand that being a Red Lantern was not who I was not meant to be. Aya was killed due to a situation which I will tell you when the time is right and I was filled with Hope that she was still alive which over time I recievied my Blue Lantern ring making me who you see today. Before you ask and I know that you will about Blue Lanterns and why you have not heard of them until just recently. The reason is that Blue Lanterns have only been around for a short time and there are less than a dozen of us at the moment." Razer told the 4 humans in the room.
"So we have to find a way to get Wally to let go of his rage which at the moment is not going to be easy when you think about the fact that the ones he thinks of as family hurt him so bad and that most of the Green Lanterns incluiding those Annoying Gnomes things and they are annoying if you ever meet than see him as Nuallan. Plus take in the fact that Wally didn't have the best of childhood due to him being abuse by his father until I walked in on the abuse and filed for custody of Wally which was given to me when Rudy died in prison and Mary died shortly after she signed Wally over to my wife and I." Flash vented out.
Razer could tell that Wally's uncle was upset as the Blue Lantern had seen the same reaction in Wally when he talked about his past back on Oa. Razer knew that Flash saw Wally as his son as family didn't mean that you were blood. Family was those you loved and trusted.
"Flash, I will be quiet truthful with you on this matter. It is going to take some time and I know that I can't do this alone. So I am going to suggest something that I know you will not like but I need to say. To fight my Rage I had help from the first Blue Lantern which in a strand twist of fate if you will defeated me when I was a Red Lantern and let me live. I went looking for him after the defeat and truce with the Red Lantern after it was discovered that Atrocious had been using them. I will be truthful when I said that I was just trying to find who I was and trying to repent for what I had done as a Red Lantern and the lives that I had taken. Like I said it took some ti me but with the help of Saint Walker who is the first Blue Lantern and knowing that Aya is still out there did I see myself in a new light and became a Blue Lantern. I know that no matter what I will always have problems with my Rage but having Hope helps stop that feeling. I feel that I need to take Wally with me to the other Blue Lanterns and have them help. Before you say anything Flash, I can not have them come here as it would not be a good idea for Wally to be surrounded by those that caused him harm. Your son needs to be surrounded by those that will help him on his journey." Razer told the group. He knew that there was going to be some yelling given how he had seen the bond that Flash and Wally had with each other despite not being related by blood and from Batman due to the yelling that he had just done to Wally's teammate.
"You mean that you want to take my son who is filled with Rage to an unknown planted to have get rid of the Rage that he will always have no matter what you do?" Flash said with clenched teeth.
"If you would like Flash of Earth, you may join us." A voice came from behind the group which caused Batman to pulled out one of his weapons only to have it shot out of his hands by a blue light.
The group minus Razer turned around to see a bald humanoid like creature standing in the room that was dressed like a holy man. He smiled at the four heroes in the room. He held out his hands in front of him in a gesture of peace.
"Who are you?" Batman growled as he was trying to figure out who this person had gotten into the cave.
"His name is Saint Walker who is the first and leader of the Blue Lanterns." Razer said as turned and nodded his head in greeting to the priest that had helped him deal with his Rage so long ago.
"Which would explain how he got into the Cave since he's not evil." Flash said.
Batman narrowed his eyes at the stranger but not in a distrusting way. The aura that this priest was giving off what calming and soothing. Plus he was not dressed in his Blue Lantern outfit so that meant something to Batman. Much like when Razer had said, this Leader was only here for peace and to calm everyone down.
"What do you mean I can go with Wally?" Flash asked looking at the priest.
"Exactly what he had meant. You can come with us to help Wally given that you are the closest thing to a father that he has and knowing the way you talk about your wife, she'll want come as well which I know from being married that saying no would be a very bad thing to say." Razer answered.
"Wally will need all the help he can get and I know that family will be important to him. Plus I do know that the Blue Lantern's home planet will be able to support your race. Odyn is the best place for your son to help him. I do know from experaince that this will not be a very easy journey but given time, we can help Wally be who he needs to be and not what other people want him to be. And as for the 'annoying gnomes' as you call them Flash, they are not allowed on Odyn or any reason unless we are at war. I do not trust the Green Lantern Guardians that much for not all of them are open and tell the truth about everything." Saint Walker told the Speedster who was looking at him. The priest was not going to not the only family that Wally had not be there for his training in getting the young speedster to get rid of his Rage.
"Hey, what about us?" Roy and Artemis yelled at the same time.
Saint Walker smiled at the young humans. He knew from what he had seen that these two archers were very loyal to Wally hence they were the only ones that stayed loyal to him when he revealed that he was a Green Lantern. They would be needing to come as well.
"If it will be alright with you parents and mentors, you may come as well. Wally will need some help from those around his own age to help him. Please bare in mind that Wally will be saying things that will hurt very badly but remember that will not always be him. Rage and anger can make you do many things that you do not know that you do and that you will not be proud of." Saint Walker told the young archers.
"Hey, I'm going no matter what. I've been on my own for a year and I am going with or with out anyone permission. Wally has always been there for me and I am going to be there for him." Roy growled out.
"Same here. Wally may not have liked me at first but now I realize that he was just defending his friend and that he could have told the team about my past but didn't which meant that he did trust me somewhat at the time. So I am going like Roy with or without my mom's permission. But I will let her know what I am doing so she doesn't worry." Artemis said in a tone much like Roy's. She knew that her mom would tell her to go but Artemis was just making a point and was going to do anyway.
"It does seem that true friendship does live on in the universe. Very well, when we get Wally to calm down I will arrange for him to come to Odyn. Also I will sent you updates on how he is doing as I can tell that you do care about him, Batman." Walker told the Dark Knight with a smile before leaving the room.
"I'll arrange for you, Iris, Roy and Artemis to get some time off while Wally recovers from this ordeal. Also I'll make sure that you get the money that you need during the time that you are helping Wally." Batman told Flash as he left to room to make plans for the unknown time that Flash and the others would be gone. He also had to make sure that Artemis and Wally would get there homework sent to them as well. Batman would not put up with the two teens falling behind on school work at all no matter what was going on but also homework could also help Wally lose The Rage that was in his body.
"I would suggest that you go home and pack and in Artemis's case inform your mother about what is going on. Based on what Wally told me, I do not think that she will tell you no. she does seem like a nice woman. One that does care about you." Flash told the two archers in the room.
Both archers nodded their heads and left the room. Once Flash was sure that Roy and Artemis was out of hearing distance he turned to Razer. "Do you think this will work?"
"Flash, I will be truthful with you. It took years for me to rid myself of the Rage that was in my body and I never fully got rid of it all but I have many things to look forward to other than my Rage. We have to get Wally to see that. I will also tell you that I have no experience with teenagers so please bare with me if I lose my temper with them. I did at one point want a child but I was not going to bring a child into my war torn world where all they would know was fighting and death." Razer told the older speedster.
"I do not blame you on that. When Iris and I thought about having a baby we weren't sure about how Wally would take the news but we still let him know what was going on as it was the right thing to do. We set Wally down when he was 9 and told him about what was going on and imagine our surprise when he started screaming for joy at the thought of being a big brother. It was then that Iris and I knew that he was on board for having a baby in the house. Iris and I tried for 5 years to have a baby but for some reason we couldn't conceive. I went to Batman to find out what was going on and found out that the chances of Iris and I having a baby was next to nothing as my powers since I was not born with them interfered with my ability to reproduce. Iris was heart broken as was Wally. I felt that it was my fault that Iris and I couldn't have a baby but a few weeks after getting the news that Iris came to me and told me that it was alright if she couldn't have a baby as Wally was her child and that she loved me anyway. Wally came to me the next day and told me something that I thought that I would never hear form an 14 year old kid who was just starting to mature and understand how life works with men and women that I shouldn't give up hope in being a father as I was already a great father to him and that when Iris did get pregnant that I would be the best father in the world and that he was going to be the best big brother in the world." Flash said as he looked down at his son who next to his wife was the best thing in the world that he had.
Razer smiled that the older speedster. "So in other words, it had taken a child who was not related to you by blood but saw you as his father to get your head out of your ass and realize what you had was just as important as well." Razer replied with a bit of dry humor in his voice.
Flash glared at the alien Lantern but did see his point. "You know something Razer, I think this is the beginning of a wonderful friendship." Flash said as he smack Razer on the back.
Next chapter: Wally and the gang set off for the Blue Lantern Home world to help heal the young speedster. But during the healing something happens to Wally that has him making a life changing choice that will impact everyone he knows and loves. Will Wally make the right choice? Find out in the next chapters.
