She could not believe Logan had left things the way he did. She went to have dinner with him with the intention of make things better with them or, at least, to ask him for a bit of time to work her thoughts out. Nevertheless, she did not expect him to get so angry. However, she knew she was not being fair with him. She supposed she would also feel angry if one of his ex-girlfriends popped out of thin air and, all of a sudden, he did not feel sure about his feelings towards her. She just wished she knew how she felt. After all, things with Logan were already complicated before Jess happened to show up in Stars Hollow. Mitchum had made sure to complicate what she and Logan had. How could she continue with someone whose father was continuously sabotaging their relationship and without any valid reason to it. That man had made her feel small and left her questioning all of her dreams. Moreover, the worst part was, she did not even think he had meant it. He had just wanted to crush her, and she had let him, doubting herself on the way.

On the other hand, she realized she could not ignore her feelings for Jess any longer. Something inside her had resurfaced and she had to face it. She had never really dealt with her feelings when the dark haired boy walked away from her life without a second glance, a couple of years back. She had cried when she found out he had left her, but she had also been fast to hide her feelings in the back of her mind, burying them so deeply in her heart that life almost felt normal again. Afterwards, she had travelled to Europe with her mom and Yale had happened.

Rory had never felt so deeply for anyone before Jess, and the idea of never seeing him again was overwhelming. The first days, it had felt painful to breathe, with his smell - hair gel, cigarettes and cologne - still lingering in the air and it had felt heavy to walk, with his steps still engraved in every stride she made, showing her the ways they had shared. The most difficult part, nevertheless, was remembering his kisses and his touches against her skin, because each day she went by without them it felt more difficult to recreate them with accuracy in her mind. Therefore, she preferred to ignore her sentiments, as strong as they were, because she could not carry on with her routine, productively, if she did not. A nauseating feeling, all the same, constantly threatened to gain control over her, but she had managed to conceal it, repeatedly, until now.

When Jess came back the first time, two years ago, she hated him. Hated him for not telling her he was in town, hated him for running into and avoiding her and, mostly, hated him for telling her he loved her. She had not believed in him. She couldn't at that moment. Rory had dealt with the declaration as well as he did, running from it.

Following the three words statement had been the incident with Dean. She recognized, now, that she had searched for Dean because there was no one left. She had felt confused and he had been the easier solution to her ordeal. Evidently, like in the past, she had never felt complete with her first boyfriend. Her tall and adequate first crush and relationship had never fulfilled her intern desires. There was something always lacking. He could not keep up with her interests, her ambition or even her conversations. She knew he had a good heart and that he relentlessly loved her more than she could ever reciprocate. Albeit, he just fell short.

Then, Logan had appeared, changing her life upside down, daring her to do things she did not do. She wondered if he just pushed her too far sometimes. It was not as if he ever pressured her on doing anything she did not want to do, but she felt that for him to love her completely she had to be more daring. So, she had run at a speed she could not keep up. Notwithstanding, she did not function at the same rhythm as him and her batteries were starting to running low.

She got home to find Lorelai waiting for her in the living room.

"Hi, mom. What are you doing up?" Rory asked her.

"I thought I should wait to see how you were feeling before I went to sleep." She confided. "How did things go with Logan?" Lorelai inquired.

Rory sighed, dropping her shoulders.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Lorelai insisted, worried.

"It didn't go well, mom. But I am not sure I want to talk about it right now." Rory admitted.

Lorelai faced her, "Are you sure, hon? I am just afraid this will eat you up at night."

"I am sure." She nodded her head.

Rory gave Lorelai a big hug. "Thanks, mom. We can talk about it in the morning. But, at this moment, I just need to close my eyes and sleep."

"I understand." Lorelai hesitantly let her go, caressing her hair and staring in to her daughter's eyes, before saying, "I will be here."

"I know." Rory reassured her.

Rory stripped down of her clothes and put on her most comfortable pyjamas. She laid down on her bed, covering herself up. After turning from one side to another for the tenth time, she dialled the number she knew by heart.

Like the day before, she dialled his number, but hanged up before he could answer it.

She took a deep breath and pressed the buttons again.

A sleepy voice answered it. "This better be good."

"Hi" She responded him back, sighing.

He changed his tone immediately. "Hi".

"I just…" She was not sure what to say.

"Rory…" He tried.

"Do you think we can talk?" She questioned.

"Isn't that what we are doing?" He tried to break the ice.

"Can we meet?" She inquired him again.

"Right now?" He felt surprised.

"I don't think I can wait until tomorrow." Rory confessed.

"Yes, sure. Are you ok?" He sounded worried.

"I think so." Rory responded not sounding convincing.

Jess knew she was not telling the truth, something had happened. "Where? Do you want me to pick you up?"

Rory did not want Lorelai to find out about this meeting just yet. "No, that is ok. We can meet by the bridge."

"Ok, I will see you in 15 minutes." He affirmed. "Are you sure you are ok?" He asked her again.

"I don't know." She bared. "But I will figure out now."
