A/N: Yes I know and I'm sorry for the wait. But after finally finishing school, I've had to deal with recovering from deppression and a few sad things. Many of which are personal but one of them is the acceptance of Battlefield heroe's fate. Battlefieldheroes was my very first serious game. It was a great third person ww2 shooter game made by EA. Unfortunately, as we all know about EA, they (to no one's suprise) decided to make the stupidest changes to the game overtime and making it less popular. On July fourteenth, which is next week, the game will shut down for good. Its very sad for me because it was the first serious game for me. I felt a close relationship to it. Now that its going, I feel extreme sadness. But anyways, I forced my self into updating and well, many things might not make sense or are not as good as before because I am still recovering from emotional turmoil. These things take time to recover from. But if there are errors in the story, tell me.
Chapter 12: Uniting the Team-Part 2
The Queene's Bridge was getting overwhelmed. The Aphrodite cabin was trying as hard as they could to defend. Due to Kronos's spy, he was able to reposition the Sherman Tank and it's forces to attack the weak Aphrodite cabin instead of the Hunters. And so far, it was succeeding.
The Aphrodite cabin was constantly in panic trying to stab whereever they could and using the fact that they were angry about their make-up being messed up as a morale boost. Anything to stop the enemy. They even resorted to throughing perfumes that monsters hated(which isn't exactly backup plan because it was their plan from the begining) and it was working but even that was starting to fail.
About three to five cabin members have fallen and eight were wounded. They tried to get greek fire up to the tanks but would have to run back from the crowd. The monster army snarled as they pushed foward until they heard a loud bugel.
Both fighting forces momentarily stopped for a moment to process the sound. It came from neither sides. So who was it from? Then, a voice was heard.
"haaaaaAAaaAaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Everyone looked and saw a man with red shirt and pants and a bullet-proof gear and grenades on his chest . He wore a beanie and had an eyepatch. It was the Black Scottish Cyclops! Or rather the Demoman as everyone knew and he had a sheild strapped to his arms and was charging the tank holding a WW2 German hand grenade.
Everyone was to stunned in confusion to do anything until the Demoman reached the tank, swung his ullapool caber at the tank, and bassically blew it up along with a few monsters besides it.
The explosion propelled him upwards into the air. The Demoman landed with a loud thud on the ground with his famous smile. The monsters growled at him but soon turned their attention to something else.
"MAGGOTS!"
The Sodlier leaped of the building at the second tank. He aimed is rocket launcher and fired a rocket blowing up the tank. Another man, aka the Scout, ran at the third tank weilding the boston basher.
"I got it I got it i got it!"
He never got his chance as four rockets spiralling around each other reached the tank first and blew it up.
"Ah come on! I had that one!" The scout complained.
The Engineer drove by in a pick-up truck with a level three sentry and a dispenser in the back.
"Well what were yah gonna do boy? jump inside an bat em all tah death?"
"That was exactly what I was gonna do," grumbled the Scout as he walked up to a stuggling giant on the ground. He swung his bat at it so hard that the head came off and was sent flying.
"It ain't the same," said the Scout.
The Aphrodite cabin just stared until the Soldier yelled them back into place.
"Are you perfume hippies waiting for the enemy to get back up and fight! Retaliate and regroup before I come over there and strangle you all with your little frilly training bras!"
Apparantley that threat was scarier than the monsters because the cabin immidietly fumbled around with medical supplies, more perfume weapons, and other things.
Meanwhile, the Soldier and his three mercenary friends stood at the front glaring at the monsters while the monsters glared back. Both sides with hate-filled eyes. Well, Soldier was doing the majority of the glaring. Scratch that, he was doing ALL of the glaring. The Scout, Demoman, and Engineer just wanted to stay out of his way.
"CHAAAAAARGE!" Soldier yelled as he rocket jumped into the air.
"Hae at 'em, lads!" The Demoman said as he took a chug of his scrumpy, took out the lock-n-load, and charged.
"Lets get em!" Scout said as he ran in with the scattergun.
"Cowboy up!" shouted the Engineer driving into the crowd with his new truck.
By the time the Aphrodite cabin finished preparing, the mercenaries had ended their massacre and moved on.
The entire cabin stared at the leftovers from the carnage they just witnessed and were all thinking the same thing.
"What the Hades just happened?"
Later...
The other five mercenaries stood at the top of a building, not far from the Empire State Building, overseeing the area. The Sniper scoped in through his sniper rifle overlooking the Demigods and their rest of the team was camping out trying to plan out the next course of action.
The Pyro had built a campfire (somehow on top of a concrete building). The Heavy sat on the ground eating a sandvich to pass time. No one knew how he never ran out of sandviches. The Medic however, was tending to the Spy who was propped on a table they found and still recovering from Kronos's sword wound to him.
"Hmm... Intrezting indeed..." said the Medic "Firzt everyone on zhe ztreet iz azleep an now zhis!"
"Doctor, vill you pleaze hurry up!? Zhis pain is not going to go away by itzelf!" complained the Spy.
"I know Herr Spy, I am vorking az fazt az I can," said the Medic. The Medic fiddled with the Medi-gun which was currently on another table aimed at the Spy.
"Doctor, you and me both know zhat you could've cured me long ago," said the Spy.
"I know my dear freund," said the Medic ", But you know how I juzt can't rezizt zhe chance to study somezhing like this! It iz like zhe engergiez of zhe sword iz trying to rip drain out or rip out your own life essence."
"Doctor, if I did not rely on you for my life, zhen I would've killed you by know," threatened the Spy.
"Hehehehe," Chuckled the Medic ", You vould've definitely done zhat if it vere zome yearz ago."
"Can you blame me? Truzt iz earned," said the Spy ", If it vere still in zhe early dayz of our team, zhen I vould've simply killed you an found anozher doctor."
"Ha ha. Vell you vere zhe last one to allow me to implant zhe uber device onto your heart," Medic said ", You know, zince you are vaiting for me to finish up, vhy don't I te-"
"No. No more of your ridiculouz storiez," Spy said.
"Ha ha," Chuckled the Medic ", Ztill zhe same az alwayz."
"Eh spook," Said the Sniper ", Ah thought we were gonna rally up at them kid's place. Instead, we've been camped up here fer hours. Heck they might have somethin tah heal yah."
"I don't truzt zhem," Spy said ", Vhe ztill are unsure about zhe situation vhe are in so it iz better to keep in zhe dark and gazhering information before joining sidez."
The Sniper just stared at zhe Spy.
"Vhat? Vould you razher ally ourselvez vith people vhe barely have information about?"
"'right fine," said teh Sniper.
"Ack! you never truzt anyvone Herr Spy," Said the Medic as he finished modifying his Medi-gun. The Spy instantly felt invigorated as the pain dissapeared and the newly modified Medigun made it's work inside his body.
"Vell zhen gentlemen, since vhe are in a bazically abandoned city, let uz find zome beds to take our rezt. Vhe are going to need it for tommorow if vhe are to find zhe Soldier."
"Will be good rest for killing tiny cowards tommorow," Heavy said as he, with the Pyro, got up from their seats.
As all the mercenaries walked to the roof top door, the Spy tensed.
"Ambush!"
Seven Hunters of Artemis, who were hanging from the ledge, pulled themselves up onto the rooftop, aiming their bows at the five mercenaries, surrounded them.
The five mercenaries, with years of battle experience, also unholstered and readied their own weapons pointing them at the enemy. It was Bow and arrow pointed at Minigun, revolver, crossbow, flamethrower, and Sniper rifle.
"Bah, not these prancin show ponies again," said the Sniper.
One of the Hunters spoke ", We have a score to settle. Now surrender and come with us or we will attack."
The Spy stared at them with a straight face. He wispered to his teammates ", Alright here is zhe pla-" He did not get the chance to finish his sentence.
"OHOHOHOHOHOHOHO! Leetle babies think you can take Heavy and friends? Heavy not think so." taunted the Heavy.
The same one who said the threat retaliated " Just because we're girls doesn't mean we can't kick your fat ass!"
"Because you girl?" The Heavy said ", No. you babies because you so very tiny. Is Joke! And look at your weapons! is not even gun!"
"Hey! I've shot down bigger and scarier monsters than you," Said the lead Hunter "You're the same as all men! Claiming to be the best but really your weak!"
"Hehe, Then you clearly not met me yet!" said the Heavy ", You do not want to fight me and comrades. Why don't you run home to mama."
"Thats it!"
Everyone of the Red team held back their gasps as the lead hunter fired an arrow. however, the arrow was not aimed at Heavy but for his gun. The arrow lodged itself in the side of the barrel succecfully jamming the gun.
No words could describe the intensity of shock on the Heavy's face as he put his beloved minigun, Sasha, on the ground inspecting it.
All the hunters chuckled and laughed at him.
"Not so tough without your gun now huh big guy?" Said the lead hunter.
Kneeling on the ground, the Heavy clenched his fists and slowly stood up to face the Hunters."
"never..." began the Heavy
"Look mate, it might be bad but lets not get too irrational here," Said the Sniper in panic.
"ever..."
"Heavy my friend. Remember vhat I said about keeping low before choozing sidez?" said the Spy.
"TOUCH..."
"He he he he," Chucked the Medic.
"MY..."
"Hudda hudda hurmph bur muh hudda furh tuh!" mumbled the Pyro in last attempt.
"GUN!"
The Hunters' laughter instantly ended as they looked upon the giant man's face. All of the intensity of shock on the Heavy's face was now anger and hatred. The other four mercenaries each took a step back.
The Heavy slowly walked foward to the lead hunter.
"Hey! stop right there," she said as she shot an arrow right into Heavy's chest. However, Heavy just continued walking as if the arrow didn't faze him at all. He grabbed it and pulled it out of his chest and tossed it away.
The other hunters started shooting arrows at Heavy but still didn't affect him. Once he reached his target who was panicking and desperately shooting arrows at him, he grabbed the hunters neck with one hand and lifted her up into the air. Since his hands were so huge, he ended up also grabed arond her shoulders. The Hunter choked in desperation and fear.
The Heavy's hate-filled eyes peireced into the Hunter's eyes as he squeezed. The giant hands succesfully cracked and broke her shoulders and half her ribs and squeezed the air out of her. The pain was immense but she could not scream. Tears were streaming from her face.
All the other hunters were paralyzed in fear from the shear amount of rage radiating off of the giant man. They could not do anything as the Heavy raised his large fists aiming for the Hunter's head.
The same fists that puched through hundreds of metal robots were about to claim another victim until another voice somehow and miraculously got through to him.
"NO! Wait! Stop! What are you doing? Please!"
Thaila Grace pulled herself up to the top in panic for another one of her Hunter's life. The Heavy paused and turned to look at her.
"Why should I?"
"Look, I'm sorry. This mission was not supposed to be hostile. We were supposed to convince you guys to come back safely to our base. I'm sure we can work out whatever we've done to offend you."
QUICK FLASHBACK
Thaila Grace stood at Olympus scouting the city. Her Hunters came back intact which was strange. She could've sworn there was a large force heading towards them. She decided to use the sheild Annabeth had Argus bring and was using it to scout the city. She noticed a small campfire with five people.
"Ashley!"
"Yes Thaila?"
" Take a team of seven and go check out that little firecamp over there. See if they're friendly and if they are, try and bring them back here."
"You can count on me," said Ashley as she walked off.
Fifteen minutes later and Thaila was still surveying the city. When she zoomed back in on the camp, she suddenley recognized the Sniper and the Spy.
"Oh no!" Thaila said knowing what her hunters would do when seeing the Sniper and Spy.
"I've got to stop them!"
Present
"She touched Sasha," said the Heavy.
"What?"Who's Sasha?" asked Thaila
"My gun."
Thaila turned and saw a minigun on the ground with an arrow lodged through the barrel.
"Look, I'm sorry my Hunters shot your gun. I'm sure we can fix it back to perfection! We can give you a place to sleep and rest at the Empire State Building! Please just let her go. We're only here to fight off the monsters!"
The Heavy paused for a moment. After what seemed like eternity, he opened his hand and Ashley dropped and hit the ground. She was in a mix of crying, gasping for air, and coughing up blood.
"You are not touching Sasha. I am fixing Sasha," said Heavy as he walked back and picked up his gun.
All the Hunters crouched around the wounded one. All of them immediately started applying medical supplies and feeding her nectar and ambrosia to her from their foldable camps. However, even after all the first-aid, nectar, and ambrosia, she was still in pretty bad shape and needed real medical attention real soon.
"ooooh... Intrezting..." said the Medic as he observed the nectar and ambrosia.
The Spy walked up to Thaila whiled taking a drag from his cigarrete. Thaila stared at him unsure of what to do next. There was still a pinge of anger from what he did earlier.
"Vell then. You promised a place to stay. I suggezt you take uz zhere," said the Spy.
Back at the Empire State Building...
. Things were not as bad as expected. Most demigods had made it through the first battle but all were mostly beat up. This helped for when the five mercenaries made their arrival, most did not give much of a care. Though there were still suspicious eyeing, the mercenaries had a rather pleasant arrival to say at least. Even as the heavily wounded Hunter was rushed to the medical wing, the demigods would think something monster related happened.
"Vell gentlemen, I vill go zearch for appropriate roomz for uz," The Spy said ", Vait here for me."
No words or movements were needed. The rest of the mercs simply each looked at Spy as if to say 'yes'.
The Spy went on too the elevator suspiciously eyeing the other demigods gathering information.
"well mates, Ahm gonna head out for a bit," Said the Sniper after Spy walked away.
"Hudda huda mmph!" muttered the Pyro as he... she... it followed sniper. Probably about to do something with fire.
That left the Heavy and Medic sitting at a bench at the lobby of the building. The Heavy sat with Sasha while the Medic just fiddled with the Medigun and scoffing at the demigod medic camps.
"Iz such a shame having to reside at such incompetent people," Medic said ", Relying on magic razher zhan zhe knowledge of scienze!"
"Doctor should not be like this," said the Heavy ", Doctor has had same opinion about team when first started."
"hmmff," said the Medic ", Zhould ave juzt killed zhem all by now. take zheir bodiez and find vhat iz up vith zhem."
"Do not worry Doktor," Heavy said ", you have done much better thing in past." He grunted as he fixed another part of sasha.
"Yez... thank you Heavy. But I muzt know how zhey vork! New magic! Do you see how rare of a chanze zhis iz!? And how zhat boy'z skin iz as ourz vith uber! vith zhat I can create godz!"
"I am sure Doktor will- wait" said Heavy ",Doktor say uber?"
"Yez," Medic said ", and even more! you see zhoze goat men who juzt walked in?"
"Doktor, they called satyrs," Heavy pointed out.
"Vhatever, I muzt cut zhem open! It iz just so tempting!" said the Medic as he unconciously brandished his bone saw.
The Heavy put a hand on the Medics shoulder and gave him a solid look.
"*sigh* your right, I need to keep myzelf under control," said the Medic
The Heavy continued to give the look.
"Alright fine!" said the Medic laying his bone saw down"But don't expect me to be helping any one of zhem if I can't experiment on zhem!"
Unfortunately for the medic, at that point, Thalia ran up to him.
"Wait, you're a experience field medic right? Please! we need your help!"
"F %k!" said the Medic.
The Spy had easily been slipping around the building gathering information. One cannot be too careful. After slipping of the elevator, the Spy cloaked himself and followed the demigods around hoping to find points of interests. He did however, find that there was a 600th floor present. However, when he tried to enter, an invisible barrier held him back. Beyond the barrier, it was a huge ancient city on top of a huge cloudy mountain.
The Spy had overheard the demigods call it 'Olympus'. If his memory served correctly, Olympus was home to the ancient Greek gods. Judging by the unusualness he and his team had gone through the past couple of days, he did not doubt the existance of the Greek gods. Atleast not in this world. He could only hope to find Soldier and return home before matters became complicated, but knowing Soldier, he would probably go out on a killing spree to protect his country. Even though this country wasn't their America from back home, Spy knew that the Soldier would defend it anyways. Spy could only hope that the Soldier would be blind as normal and not see the Greek gods as tyrants over the Earth. The Spy did not like going up against all powerful beings, much less, Gods. Soldier might've been able to do it eventually, but the rest of the team did not have respawn in this world. Even with respawn, only Soldier would be able to stand a chance. Everytime Soldier dies, he comes back stronger thanks to those 'kill me come back stronger' pills Soldier ate from his roommate (and friend (even though they had their quarrels)) Merasmus. Since everytime Soldier died, he increased in power, he just had to get killed a certain amount of times until he reached their power.
Though it would probably be thousands of deaths before Soldier would reach god power, he could reach it eventually. Even the smallest drops of water continuosly can erode a huge boulder. This was the reason why Soldier was hooked up to respawn. Respawn works differently from Soldier's ability. Instead of letting Soldier's ability revive him with a stronger body, Respawn would take in Soldier's soul before it could return to the body, and place it in a new body identical to the body Soldier started of with. The Administrator really liked to keep tabs and control people.
The Spy navigated through the building with ease. It was suprising how similar this Empire State Building was to their world's Empire State Building. It was good for the Spy because from his previous life as a Spy for the [classified], he had been almost everywhere in the world doing his job. He had the chance to visit many famous places and the Empire State Building was no exception.
The Spy decided he should find the terrace to overlook the city and gather more intel. While still cloaked, the Spy found the observatory room to find something quite unexpected.
The Observatory...
"You're cute when your worried," Annabeth muttered "Your eyebrows get all scrunched up together."
Annabeth lay on set up operating table/bed. Percy held her hand connected with her bad arm.
"You are not going to die while I owe you a favor," Percy said ", WHy did you take that knife?"
"You would've done the same for me," replied Annabeth.
The boy paused for a moment.
"How did you know?"
"Know what?" she asked.
"My Achilles spot. If you hadn't taken that knife, I would've died." said Percy.
annabeth got a faraway look in her eyes.
"I don't know Percy, I just had a feeling you were in danger. Where... where is the spot?"
"The small of my back," he replied after pausing for a moment.
'hmmm,' mentally mused the Spy as he watched the boy reveal his weakspot.
"If the Spy remembered correctly, the legend of Achilles was of a boy who was dipped in the river of Styx and became invicible in all but one spot. In Percy's case, the small of his back.
This proved useful to the 'backstabbing snake'. Being in a team for a long time can influence an individual. In Spy's case, Sniper's 'have a plan to kill everyone you meet' habit had proved quite useful for the Spy in the past.
After Percy left the room, the Spy decided that there was nothing else worth exploiting at this point and decided to make his way back to his team.
"And vhy should I help her again?" said the Medic while looking upon Ashley's pathetic state. A few Hunters and girls from the Apollo cabin desperately gathered around medical supplies and operations to keep the girl alive. Due to their small numbers, loosing even one fighter could be devastating.
"Why should you help her? well why not? we're the good guys! and She's going to die!" said Thalia ", weren't you on our side when you fought on the bridge?"
"Zhat vas for survival my dear fraulien," said the Medic ", Me an my comradez only fight for ourzelves, bezides, vhy should I help someone who surprize attacked uz vhen vhe vere peacefully rezting ontop of a building hm? So she dies. Not my problem."
"Bu-" started Thaila but was interrupted when another hunter put a hand on her shoulder. This hunter gave a hateful glance and Heavy and Medic.
"Its alright Thalia. You've done what you could," she said ", they're just like all men. greedy and only care for themselves."
"Rot in hell," she said to Medic before they took their leave. Thalia looked at the ground in defeat.
"he he he, well shes a grumpy one," said the Medic "Come Heavy, vhe must go tend to our friendz."
The Medic grabbed the Russian's arm but the Heavy did not budge.
"Vell vhat are you vaiting for? a lift? now stop fooling around and letz go," said the Medic ', i don't have all day."
The Heavy continued to stand still and stare at the girl.
"*sight* you av got to be kidding me," said the Medic in disbelief ", Firzt you vant me to show mercy and now you vant me to heal zhem too! Forget it! i am not vasteing precious technology on zhem!"
The Heavy still did not move.
"Okay now vhat!?"
"Heavy know doktor not like tiny baby girl. But is good to gain good reputation in new place. Is mystery of how long will take to find Soldier. eez bezt to maintain good relationship with people who houze uz." said the Heavy.
"Yez and zhey promized to house uz if vhe released zheir friend vitch vhe did," countered the Medic ", and vhy do you care!? She touched your Sasha!"
"But if girl dies, vhe may not have place to go anymore," said the Heavy", Leetle girls eez like sisters to each other. They take each other in and protect each other from bad men and monsters. Eez of like my own family."
"*sight* don't tell me zhat you are developing feelings for her and feeling sorry," said the Medic.
The heavy kept his face on.
"Grah! Fine! But you ow me a favor for zhis one!" said the Medic as he walked towards the girl's bed.
She was in horrible condition. at first, both her arms were broken, her lungs and a multiple of other organs were crushed. After feeding her with the ambrosia and nectar, alot of her ribs were still broken, her arms were still fractured, and still a handful of organs were starting to fail. It looked like she had also fallen into a coma. Medic did not know why they did not give more ambrosia or nectar but he suspected some sort of lethal side-effect from overdosing.
The hunters looked at him and glared.
"What are you still doing here!?" one demanded.
"Calm down Fraulien. You vant my help or not?" said the Medic. That shut them up pretty quick. The Medic flipped the switch on the Medigun activating it. He aimed the barrel at the girl who was closed to dying. All the campers and Hunters present sidestepped away. The Medic smirked (sadisticlly) and pushed the lever foward.
Red energy glowed and gathered at the tip of the barrel. It clouded up and released as a beam towards Ashley who was minutes away from Death. As soon as the Medibeam touched its patient, both Hunters and Campers alike stared in shock and awe as the healing went into effect.
The first noticable change was the mishappen chest and arms from broken bones shifting back into place and healing up. The next could only be detected by Apollo girls due to healing magic. Her organs were fixing themselves up, healing, reforming, and reactivating. Her skin color slowly turned from pale back to normal peach and her unstable and weak heartbeat stabilized into a healthy, strong, rythmic beat. Even her other battlewounds from previous battles that day closed up. Gashes, cuts, bruises, anything visible healed and closed up leaving no trace behind. Even scars present faded within seconds. Her face expression turned from pained and suffered to calm, relaxed, and happy. Her chest rose and deflated slowly to show steady breathing showing she was now asleep.
Once her body was back to peak condition, the Medic cut off his Medigun.
"She vill vake up in around a few hourz better zhan before," said the Medic as he turned to walk away.
The same hunter from before spoke up " Why did you do it?" All her hostility was replaced by confusion and shock.
"Do not thank me," said the Medic ", All credit goes to zhe HEavy over zhere. It was not by any means, my choice or idea to help your friend here."
With that thought the Medic and the Heavy departed leaving everyone present to wonder what just happened.
Not much could be said about the Sniper and the Pyro. The only thing they could be seen doing is scoping out the premise and planning ways to kill everyone (Sniper), and staring far into a fire (Pyro). Only the creator of everything would be able to describe or even explain what was going on in the Pyros mind. The Sniper was another case.
The Sniper was an efficient and calm mercenary. He had the discipline to stay camped out in a spot for hours, days, or even weeks in extreme cases just to take out a single target. However, ever since he's been hired by Mann Co., fought as a mercenary, then the war against the robots, the Sniper had rarely had the chance to wait out for his opponents. In the battlefield, the Sniper would have to find a decent spot and take out as many targets possible with accurate skill in a short amount of time. If he did stay at one spot, he would either not be able to be as effiecient, or an enemy would discover where eh was and eliminate him. Camping out at a specific spots was an off time for Sniper. Now was one of them.
The Sniper peeked behind his shoulder to look at the Pyro who was mumbling something undecryptable and maniatically laughing with the flame. The Sniper never understood the Pyro. no one did. But the Pyro was a nice person... thing to keep around for company from time to time. The Pyro was just so messed up, wrong, and insane, yet at the same time so innocent and naive.
The Sniper sighed and went back to surveying the area. No threats were nearby. Only a few stray monsters from the battles were around. The Sniper took care of them with headshots from the Hitman's heatmaker.
"Hudda hurmph?" mumbled the Pyro as it cocked its head towards Sniper.
"What is it?" asked Sniper while still scoped in.
"Hudda hudda!" Pyro mumbled while pointing in a direction.
"If its another butterfly then I'll-" said the Sniper but paused when he aimed his scope down the direction. A giant white flag, as in GIANT (size of a soccer field) white flag was being carried by a Blue giant and approaching. Among the giant was another teen, and a man with a woman that Sniper was getting bad vibes out of. His finger almost pulled the trigger as the man seemed to stare straight at his direction.
The Sniper just absolutely ITCHED to put a hole into the man's head but something told him not too. The Sniper Turned around and could see Pyro also staring at the man's direction. Sniper could did not know how Pyro saw without a scope but could.
"Come on bugger! lets go." said the Sniper.
( A/N: sorry for the overuse of time skips but I really can't get a clear head for this chapter.)
Some Time later...
After being informed about the situation, the Spy went out to see the arriving negotiators. The Spy stood to the side cloaked while Percy, Thalia, and Grover went up to meet the man in the suit, the boy in armor, and the woman who Spy felt something was off. He watched from the side as the meeting commenced.
From the little small talk, the Spy learned the boy in armor was Ethan Nakamura who Percy hit in the face earlier that day.
"To business," said the man ", I am Prometheus." He extended his hand for a shake.
Percy did not return the handshake but confirmed the Spy's suspicions by saying," The fire-stealer guy? The chained-to-the-rock-with-the-vultures-guy?"
"Please, don't mention the vultures. But yes, i stole fire from the gods and gave it to your ancestors. in return, the ever merciful Zeus chained me to a rock and tortured for all eternity."
"But-"
"How did I get free?" Hercules did-
The Spy had to wait patiently for the introductions to subside and for the real negotiations to begin.
Prometheus began with it first," Percy, your position is weak. You know you can't stop another assault."
"We'll see," countered Percy.
"Percy, I am the Titan of forethought. I know what's going to happen."
"Also the Titan of crafty counsel," Grover put in. "Emphasis on crafty."
"True enough, satyr." said the Titan ", But I supported the gods in the last war. I told Kronos: 'You don't have the strength. You'll lose.' And I was right. So you see, I know how to ppick the winning side. This time, I'm backing Kronos."
"Because Zeus chained you to a rock," I guessed.
"Partly, yes. I won't deny I want revenge. But thats not the only reason I'm supporting Kronos. It's the wisest choice. I'm here because I thought you might listen to reason."
The Spy observed as the Titan drew a map on the table with his finger. Golden lines formed where ever he touched.
"This is Manhattan. We have armies here, here, here, and here." Prometheus said.
The Spy had to wonder wether the Titans were really that arrogant on the power and immortality they possesed in just giving away all their armies details in one sitting. On the other hand, Prometheus could be lying or bluffing in order to get inside of Percy's skin. The Spy listened in as Prometheus continued to explain how hopeless the situation was. Percy was outnumbered twenty to one. Normally this would be a one sided win for normal wars. But on this hand, Spy already witnessed the quality of the troops. He had also witness that every demigod here had taken down multiple monsters and most had survived. If anything, they did have a chance. Unfortunately, looking at the condition of the defending troops, they were in no good shape.
Spy had a feeling that the Soldier would be leading the team into battle to protect democracy... again.
"-Even with your new help you cannot defeat us."
'hmm?' thought the spy.
"What do you mean?" said Percy.
Prometheus smiled and said ", Don't deny it. There have been nine men who are obviously on your side. They have been decimating our army everywhere they go. I know that five of them have already arrived thanks to your hunters."
'Hmm. so they know about us.'
Percy looked at Thalia who mouthed 'tell you later'.
"Well then. I see that your spy has been keeping you posted." said Percy.
'An enemy spy now hmm?' thought the Spy.
"At any rate, our forces are growing daily. Tonight, Kronos'es arm will attack-"
The Spy listened in as the Titan relayed the enemy's plan while trying to convince Percy to surrender. He continued to persuade and even taunt them to the point where Thalia slammed the table and insulted him. The Spy saw everything normal until Prometheus reached out his hand.
"It bothers you what happened to Luke," he said ", Hestia didn't show you the full story. Perhaps if you understood..."
He touched Percy's head and a few seconds later, Percy was clammy and sweaty as if he just saw a vision. The Spy could tell that in the next few lines, Prometheus was trying to use whatever he showed Percy to display the gods as unfit and should be removed. Fortunately, the Spy could see the the boy would not budge.
Eventually, Prometheus decided to use a new method. He put a vase on the table claiming it as a 'gift'. Thalia and Grover recognized it immediately, but the Spy had to wait for explanations to reveal that it was Pandora's box. The box that supposedly released all demons upon man kind. He explained that empousas like the woman sitting down was released. The Spy assumed that some monsters probably had the ability to disgues. Spy listened in as it was explained that the only spirit left was hope and that if Percy were to open it, then it would mean surrender.
The boy tried to refuse it but the Titan explained that it was given and could not be taken back.
He stood up and the empousa slipped her arm around his.
"Morrain!" the Titan called ", We are leaving. Get your flag!"
The Spy watched as the frost giant went to pick up his flag. He knew that since the enemy had targeted the team, it would best be to stall or fight back until they could get back to they're world. Here, in front of him, was an important person from the enemy. It would best to take him out or atleast cripple him.
The spy took out his Coniver's Kunai. He hoped that when stabbed, the kunai would drain or atleast cripple the Titan. The Spy slowly crept up behind the Titan who stood watching the giant. Percy, Thalia, and Grover were still looking at each other and the jar. The Spy silently uncloaked and raised the knife. Before he could deliver the blow, another entrance was made.
"ATTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!"
!BOOM!
A shovel collided with the hugely tall giant's head. the words 'Critical hit' appeared above the giant's head and the crit. noise was made.
The Giant's head snapped to the side, clearly broken as the huge giant fell to the ground dead and turning to ice as it was killed. The Soldier landed on the ground taunting the dead Giant.
"You scum sucking fruit baskets! You are all weak!" yelled the Soldier.
The Spy paused for a moment to take it all in which was his mistake. Prometheus manage to notice him.
"you!" he said.
The Empousa next to him pounced on the Spy. She was on top on him on the ground with her claws in front of his face. The only thing holding her back was the Spy resisting with his own arms.
"So you're the one who showed up at their camp?" said Promethus.
"You're damn right! And those same boots that landed their are going straight up your ass!"
Finally, Percy, Thalia, and Grover registered the situation and got out their own weapons.
"Soldier!? where'd you come from!?"
"Back from the dead and reporting for some Facist asskicking duty!"
Thalia raised her bow at the Empousa and was about to shoot. however, before she could, the Spy got a firm grip on the demon's arm, slipped out from underneath her, held the arm behind her back, and twisted it in a sickening crack. The Demon screamed in pain as her arm was displaced and broken but was cut off as the Spy plunged his knife into her back exploding her into dust.
"You got my suit dirty," said the Spy.
Ethan Nakamura stood in front of Prometheus sword drawn. A finger tapped him on the shoulder.
"Ey there! We meet again boyo!"
"Huh?" Ethan turned to see the voice.
!Smash!
The boy slumped to the floor unconsious as an alcohol bottle was smashed on top of his head.
The Demoman stood proud tossing away his broken bottle.
"Ah fell yah mate! Ah really do!" said the Demoman ", But boyo, yah really need tah learn how tah handle some real man fightin!"
Short after, the Scout and Engineer also arrived on the scene.
All five mercenaries present aimed their weapons at the Titan.
Prometheus raised his hands for a few seconds but lowered them.
"What do you think you're doing maggot!? We are the captors and you are the hostage!"
"Do you really think that your mortal weapons can affect me?" said the Titan ", They are not even-"
!BANG!
A high speed bullet flew right into the Titans gut. The Titan howled in pain as golden blood flowed out. From a far distance the Sniper smirked.
The Scout brandished his bat proudly and slowly approached the wounded Titan. Prometheus looked up in pain and snapped his fingers. Both he, and Ethan dissappeared in a pop.
"Aw dammit! I was gonna get in some glory too!" complained the Scout.
"Aw yah'll get him next time!" said the engineer.
"Soldier?" asked Percy.
"Hey there Private!" said the insane war monger.
"Soldier you av some explaining to do!" said the Spy.
"Shut it Frenchie! I'll say everything once we find the rest of us!" said the Soldier ", We have a country to defend!"
"Mon dieu," said the Spy.
"If it helps partner," said the Engineer ", Ah tried convincing him not to."
"Yes yes good to see you again cow boy," said the Spy.
"What about me perfume man!" said the Scout proudly", Bet you couldn't stand to be away from my-"
"Constant bickering yes!" Said the Spy ", good to see you too."
"Hey!" said the Scout.
"Soldier. Who are these people?" asked Percy.
"Son. These are my teammates. or atleast whats present of it." Said Soldier proudly.
