"Well that's was the creepiest thing I ever seen," Dinohatten Luigi said in response to what just happened.
"What have I told you," Merlee said.
"Come On, Luigi. I see the castle straight ahead," Mario called seeing a dark gray castle. "That's probably where they're holding Peach."
"Probably," Luigi said happily, thinking their adventure is almost over. Literally out of nowhere they were ambushed by two boys (who looked very similar to them) in yellow and purple attacked them.
"What The Heck," the brothers simultaneously, rubbing his forehead.
"We here to stop you," said one.
"Who are you," Luigi asked noticing how similar they looked to them.
"That's none of your business," the other one responded. Then they jumped onto the boys, but they rolled to the side. They doubles jumped again and again, until the one in yellow found a rotting garlic, and place that in his mouth. A giant cloud of stinky gas filled the air.
"EWWW," Mario and Luigi said at the same time, holding their nostrils to prevent the wretched smell from entering their nostrils, while trying to get away.
"Jump," Mario said, seeing a few question blocks. He and his brother then jumped up to the blocks and out popped two sets of of roller skates and a helmet that flew down to the boys. They then sped around the doubles until they were so dizzy that they fell to the ground. Luckily, they found a vine in another block the bros used as a rope. Mario and Luigi grabbed each end, and sped around the doubles, tying them to each other every time they sped around. "Now that you're tied, you better answer our questions; Who are you? And why did you attack us?"
Knowing they were defeated, they decided to let out the truth. "I'm Wario, and this is Waluigi. We were sent here to attack you by a weird yellow hag who promised us a lot of garlic if we defeated you."
"Yuck," Mario said.
"Hey," Wario said back.
"What are you waiting for? Finish us off," Waluigi said, confused.
"Hero lesson number six: Heroes don't kill unless for defense," Mario said in response, "and as my bro and I are heroes we won't kill you," and with that they ran off.
The brother ran off to the castle, only to see it was heavily guarded by koopas and paragoombas.
"We'll need to be fast, if we are going to get in there," Mario said as he and his brother hid behind a bush.
"We do have these roller skates," Luigi said.
"Yeah, but we need something else. I got it," Mario said. "Do we still have that old cloak we found in our chest?"
"Yeah, they're in our backpacks," Luigi replied. "Why?"
"You'll see," Mario said, grabbing his backpack.
Two tiny figures in blue cloaks that hid their faces, walked up to the guards, who blocked their way. "Who Go There," said the Koopa.
"Just two simple koopa chefs who desire an audience with his burliness, King Koopa, if that pleases you," one of the two said in coarse voice.
"Hmmm," the armored koopa guard thought staring down the cloaked two.
"Why you look well, this morning, you have a very nice shade of...yellow," said the other in a squeaky voice.
"Why thank you, ma'am," the guard said, while his partner stared suspiciously at the two. "You know go right ahead."
"Are you sure? These two might be assassins or supporters of the old king, like the last one."
"You worry too much GoomBoy. You know just because you have wings doesn't
mean, you have to be a know-it-all," the koopa said turning to the paragoomba.
"Well, ummm thank you," said the first one, as he and 'she' entered the gates. When the two left the arguing guards in the dust they pulled off the hood revealing the Mario Bros. under there.
"Those two were stupa Goomba and Koopa," Luigi half whispered, while chuckling.
"Yeah. But that's lucky for us, but keep your voice down," Mario said.
"Okay," Luigi whispered.
"Now, let's-a go," Mario whispered grabbing his brother's arm.
"Why the heck do you keep saying that," Luigi said, in a low voice.
"LUIGI," Mario said, through his teeth.
The bros continued through the huge castle, with every twist and turn a hint of chill running down their necks. Until, they found a huge cavern with a throne and KOOPA.
"Well. Well," Koopa said, in growling voice, while Mario protected his brother. "The pesky plumbers in training have arrived. My mole told me you would be coming."
"We're not afraid of you," Mario said trying to sound confident, but felt his knees buckle and shake.
"Confident. Aren't we. We'll fix that," Koopa said, then snapped his finger and the only entrance was sealed, and blocked. Mario and Luigi knew they had no other choice, but to stay and fight. Koopa breathed fire, and the two boys ducked to the side. Mario noticed a small spot where there weren't any spikes. "Luigi," Mario said motioning to his head, and Luigi understood immediately. Ducking and jumping, always aiming for the spot on his head trying to stop him. Koopa kept breathing, and almost grabbing both boys, but they were too fast. After, what seemed like forever Koopa began to flicker, flash, and 'malfunction'.
"He was a robot," Luigi questioned looking at the debris.
"There has to be something else happening here," Mario responded.
"HELP," a voice screamed, from behind.
"Huh," they said together.
"I think there something over there. I mean we did here 'help'," Luigi said said pointing to a wall with a torch.
"You right come on," Mario said. After, Mario and Luigi walked up the stairs, and to the wall. "There isn't a door anywhere," Mario said.
"Maybe this is a secret passage like how to get into the mountain and home," Luigi said, remembering the secret doorway that leads into the mountain under the castle.
"You're right," Mario said. "That must be the lever," he continued pointing to the torch, and turning the koopa-shaped torch. A doorway appeared, leading into a cage filled room.
"That's cliche," Luigi said.
"The torch or the dungeon," his brother asked.
"The torch," Luigi answered.
"Well, come on," Mario said, walking into the passage. Luigi followed his brother into the dungeon, where the scream for help continued. Both boys continued on passing by cages filled with blocks?
"Umm, Mario. Why is there blocks in cages," Luigi asked his brother.
"I don't know, Luigi, but maybe once we finish this adventure and save Peach, the answers will be clear," Mario answered.
"HELP," the voice called again.
"Over there," Mario said seeing a bag. He and his brother raced to the bag,
untied the string that held it together, and revealed a person that looked very similar to Toad, except he was colored blue.
"TOAD?! Where's Peach," they said simultaneously.
"First of all thank you for saving me. Second of all my name's Blu, and lastly you know of the princess?"
"Yes, but how do you know her," Mario asked.
"I was guard along with my cousin, Yeller, when Princess Peach was one year old, and Princess Daisy was of three years."
"What about those blocks in the cages," Luigi asked.
"Those….are….my….brethren," Blu said, sadly.
"What do you mean," Mario asked.
"Those are imprisoned toads trapped in blocks. They were turned that away during the siege that also killed our king and queen."
"I see," Mario replied. "Hey, Blu. Do you know where we could get out of here?"
"Sure there's an escape route here," Blu replied, motioning toward a few loose tiles. Don't mind my prying; but why are children of your age here?"
"Oh, we're here to free the Mushroom Kingdom, before King Koopa attacks Sarasaland, and save Peach. I guess free the other toads."
"Wait, what happened to the princess," Blu asked.
"She was kidnapped by King Koopa, we think," Luigi answered.
"In that case I shall join you on your endeavour," Blu told them.
"Endeavour," Luigi asked, confused.
"It just means 'adventure'," Mario answered. "Now thanks for joining us, and
showing us the passage."
"Your welcome. Now ONWARD," Blu said, chivalrously, and now an extra person had joined them.
